NYC: Siraj Wahhaj, unindicted co-conspirator in '93 WTC bombing, to appear in planned pro-Islamic subway ad blitz for Ramadan

As the ads say, you deserve to know. "Train-ing Day for Jihadists: Muslim Subway Ads Have Terror Tie-In," by Jeremy Olshan for the New York Post, July 21 (thanks to Awake):

Allah board!
An Islamic group plans to blitz 1,000 subway cars with advertisements this September in a campaign being promoted by a Brooklyn imam whom federal officials have linked to a plot to blow up city landmarks.
The group says its mission is to explain the true nature of Islam to non-Muslims who believe the religion is bent on acts of violence - but Siraj Wahhaj, the inflammatory imam who appears in a promotional YouTube video for the project, has defended convicted bomb-plotters and called the FBI and CIA the "real terrorists."
US Attorney Mary Jo White even named Wahhaj one of 170 unindicted co-conspirators in the 1993 World Trade Center bombing and the thwarted plan to blow up a slew of buildings.
"In time, this so-called democracy will crumble, and there will be nothing, and the only thing that will remain will be Islam," Wahhaj said in one of his sermons.

He also said: "if only Muslims were clever politically, they could take over the United States and replace its constitutional government with a caliphate."

The stark, black-and-white ads of the Subway Project promote Islam with the goals of clearing up long-held misconceptions about the faith and reaching out to those interested in becoming Muslim, according to the Islamic Circle of North America, the group behind the campaign.

The Islamic Circle of North America has been named in "a list of our organizations and the organizations of our friends" by the Muslim Brotherhood, which is bent on waging "a kind of grand Jihad in eliminating and destroying the Western civilization from within and sabotaging its miserable house by their hands and the hands of the believers so that it is eliminated and God's religion is made victorious over all other religions."

Timed to run during the month of Ramadan, the ads come in pairs, reading "Q: Prophet Muhammad?" or "Q: Islam?" and the corresponding answer is always "A: You deserve to know."
Those interested in knowing more are directed to call (877) WHY-ISLAM or to visit whyislam.org, which provide literature that teaches and proselytizes about the faith.
The group insists it is not looking to transform subway cars into the "G-had train."
"Anyone who looks at this ad objectively can see that it is not preaching anything," Azeem Khan, the group's assistant secretary general, told The Post. "There is a lot of Islamaphobia out there. We provide people with a chance to speak with an actual Muslim who is informed."
Wahhaj, imam of Al-Taqwa mosque, is a former member of the Nation of Islam and was the first Muslim to give an invocation at the House of Representatives.
Formal charges were never filed against him by White, although he did serve as a character witness for the defense in the trial of Omar Abdel-Rahman, "the blind sheik" who is now serving a life sentence for his role in plotting the 1993 WTC bombings.
In the promotional video for the Subway Project, Wahhaj is the first to speak.
"Every day in this city, some 4.9 million people ride the subways - that is a lot of people," he says. "Imagine them seeing the word Islam. Imagine them seeing the word Muhammad."
The MTA confirmed that the group has signed a contract for the ad campaign but would not comment further.

UPDATE: Promotional video on YouTube.

We had a similar thing in the UK. Some muslim group took out newspaper advertisements after 7/7 stating that islam was against the taking of innocent lives and quoted 5:32 of the koran where it says that anyone who kills an innocent life, it is as though they had killed all mankind.

What they didn't mention was that 5:32 was an instruction to the Jews of Israel and not the followers of mohammed. The actual quote begins "Oh People of Israel..."

They just can't stop the al-taqiya

"You Deserve to Know..."

No Kidding! First everyone SHOULD know (the truth), but they won't get that from calling the number listed, will they?

Second, did they really think this one through? I'm thinking when all the taggers come out of the woodwork and start drawing funny pictures all over Mo's name will there be outrage? Will those cars be burned with folks inside (as per India?) Will MTA be sued for not providing proper security on each poster?

I'm not endorseing defacement of someone else's ad, but it will be kinda funny when it says:

"Prophet Mo" "You deserve to know" and somone adds: "he was a pedophile" or "He was a rapist" or "he broke every treaty he ever made" or "his cult destroys every civilization they can" or "he was a murderer" or "his followers are allowed to lie for the cult" etc. etc.

Christianity has a long history of spreading the good news and liberating human subjugation from murderous cults such as Islam. I believe that the antidote for Islamo-fascism's expansion in the West, is a well organized campaign by christian missionaries directed to free Muslim immigrants to western shores from their backward, retrograde beliefs. Any and all christian denominations should participate in an effort not only to spread the gospel but to civilize these dangerous immigrants in our midst. It would truly mark christianity's finest hour in a selfless gift of 2 thousand years of philosophy and theology that spawned Liberty and Democracy, human rights, women's rights, and every other right so alien to Muslims.

A million little stickers ought to be printed up with such remarks as Siraj Wahhajh's "In time, this so-called democracy will crumble, and there will be nothing, and the only thing that will remain will be Islam" and other remarks, equally enlightening, by Awad and other CAIR officials, about Islam not being here to be "the equal" of anthing else. Distribute those little stickers, and let them be plastered all over those subway ads, by way of retort.

Oh, and it might be fun to have another million little stickers with, say, Qur'an 9.5 and 9.29, also suitable for placing over the Da'wa campaign posters in the subway.

There's a photograph of this Siraj Wahhaj character in the New York Post. As I looked at it I had no doubt I was seeing before me an evil man who has zero appreciation for America. What a monstrosity of a human being. What a parasite.

Wahhaj: "Every day in this city, some 4.9 million people ride the subways - that is a lot of people," he says. "Imagine them seeing the word Islam. Imagine them seeing the word Muhammad."

…yes… just imagine…

Imagine all the people
Living life in peace

You may say that I'm a dreamer
But I'm not the only one
May it be a rude surprise for you
That we're not all pacifists like John…

…uh, John Lennon that is … and Wahhaj, thanks for daily reminding those 4.9 million people to keep an eye on you.

Well it is unfortunate that the west had not seen this before allowing Muslims immigration. Muslims are hard to get along with. If you talk to cultures that have had a longer experience with Islam they have nothing good to say about them nothing at all.

Posted by: savsiv [TypeKey Profile Page] at July 21, 2008 1:55 PM

I would suggest a copunter-blitz. Every subway car that displays this kind of Islamic propaganda should be flooded with tracts titled, 'yes, indeed, you deserve to know".The tracts should include direct quotes from the Koran, Ahadieth, and Mohammad, pointing out the murderous nature of Islam.

I would be glad to contribute money to the effort so long as it's being sponsored by Jihad Watch, or other organization approved by Jihad watch.

We've got to fight back.

Posted by: rational [TypeKey Profile Page] at July 21, 2008 1:57 PM

We can have some fun with this for sure. A graphiti art/satire media blitz of our can happen in NYC, as I'm sure there are many graphiti artists that visit NY subways. Any and all Jihadwatch supporters in NYC should avail themselves of some "art" supplies and make appropriate "artisitic alterations" to said media blitz, and post them on shutterfly or whatever and link them here, our one stop shopping for freespeech on the subject.

Hugh's idea is great but there is a problem...19% of the people in America hate the USA. I recently saw someone, I think it was a preacher, saying "God Damn America". Now I remember, this preacher had a very large church, and also had gone to visit Kadafi with his pal, Louis Farakan. Sirhaj Wahhaj might recruit this preachers followers.

Posted by: Spot on [TypeKey Profile Page] at July 21, 2008 3:25 PM

We once called such people traitors. We once referred to what they do as "treason". And we dealt with it differently than we do today. But we've forgotten the meaning and import of so many words... And we've forgotten the extremely good reasons we once did many of the things we once did.

Posted by: jsla [TypeKey Profile Page] at July 21, 2008 3:40 PM

I like the sticker idea above.

But people also might consider actually calling that number (877) WHY-ISLAM. If they can't quite understand what's being said, or need to hear it again, they should call again, and even again, (and again) if necessary. Until the message gets through.

I think it costs 5-25 cents for every minute, every time a toll free number is used. I think in all cases, this fee is charged even if, for some reason, the caller has a need to terminate the call just a moment or so after he has connected. A great sign of any campaign would be to have millions of callers, or at least millions of calls as a direct symbol of "getting through to the masses". Every million calls would also require the spending of between $50,000 and $250,000, depending on the service chosen, but the sponsor of the campaign.

"if only Muslims were clever politically, they could take over the United States and replace its constitutional government with a caliphate."

Actually, he is correct in the assessment and will have a lot of from the State Department and numerous US politicians and judges.

He is dead wrong on only one count by my reckoning -- they don't have to be politically very smart to accomplish the stated aims and goals.

In fact, they can be down right stupid; there are so many useful idiots at their desposal in so many venues, that it would be impossible for them to fail!

"We provide people with a chance to speak with an actual Muslim who is informed."

Are you admitting then, that there are muslims who aren't informed?
If you are then that will be a first - coming from someone of your kind, Wahhaj.

Do you really seriously think that people want to know about your obssession?

Or is it just another attempt to propagate the sick and corrupt ideology of islam onto a mass of people, whether they like it or not?

Posted by: Ken CleanAirSystem [TypeKey Profile Page] at July 21, 2008 4:09 PM

And what is the cost for this advertising campaign?

Are we to believe that this mosque came up with the funds theirselves, or where did the money come from?

What are the policies of the NY Subway system for advertising?

This post clearly shows how trying to halt the spread of islam through immigration is not going to be suscessful.

The real message is to ban and outlaw islam in the U.S. until it can truly be practiced as a faith without threat to all others who do not bow to MO. Until it can live with a free people and not demand us to bow to their ideals.

It is our laws, our way of life, or islam, there will be no other choice for those who want to live free.

The enemy is islam itself.

1000 new reasons for defacing those ads.

Posted by: Mystical Time Traveler [TypeKey Profile Page] at July 21, 2008 4:55 PM

Hey if the Muslims are paying the phone bill I'm in on the idea to keep calling, lol. Be fun to call and ask them if their refrigerator's running. HAH! Bet you could get them everytime on that, lol.

Seriously though, this is appalling to me. The audacity to promote this in the same city that suffered so much on Sept. 11. Wonder how long those ads will be up, let alone how quickly they are tagged. Who the heck is allowing this to happen? The mayor? Or can anyone do things like this freely?

4.9 million people now to be reminded once again WHO BROUGHT DOWN THE TOWERS. Unbelievable.

Posted by: gymgal [TypeKey Profile Page] at July 21, 2008 4:59 PM

Am I the only one who's transfixed by the Islam-related issues because of a certain black, black, black humour entertainment value? Don't get me wrong, I take it all deadly seriously. But at a certain point, it's just too f**kin' funny. Kurt Vonnegut could have written about the religion trying to overwhelm the planet like Ice Nine with a history like Muhammad's personally (Aisha, the Satanic Verses), the perpetually outraged Muslims threatening to cut your head off for asserting that theirs is anything but a religion of peace ...

We laughed, we cried ....

Damn!!

Yeah we want to know all the murders, bombing plots, hell they are probably want to bomb the New York Subway. They already hit the London underground, the Bombay transit trains and the Madrid Public transportation train. I am offended by these ads if they go up because it is proselytizing and I do not want to go and see those ads. I would rather see ads about the US icons of freedom, Great Presidents and war heroes. I would like to see ads of the great religions of Christianity and Buddhism, Judaism and Hinduism. I want to see what Islam under all those stupid PC names it now being described as Radical Islam, Militant Islam. Those are all western concept Islam since it was spread though it founder Mohammad had only one name and it is ISLAM. There is no other Islam. I want to see the ads of how Islam has cause death, genocide, killed millions upon millions of humans.

Posted by: savsiv [TypeKey Profile Page] at July 21, 2008 5:36 PM

If people really want to know the truth about Islam, a new phone number and website should be created by people who suffered in Islamic countries. That phone number and website should also be able to connect people to a bookstore where they can purchase books, CDs, DVDs and any other products which can be used to inform them about the true history and teachings of Islam. Only with such information can people understand and hopefully fight against the threat that faces them before it is too late.

This has already started in Baltimore - there is a huge billboard as you drive in the city toward the tunnel, only it isn't black and white. "If Muslims were clever politically.."

They are quite clever.

But not Siraj Wahaj. He is of the primitive variety (remember: 'Islam is not a monolith')

But fortunately for them, they have the Obamessiah, the Manchurian candidate. And he is doing quite well on nothing but loose CHANGE and white guilt.

Yeah, let's clear up some of those "misconceptions".

This isn't the first "subway Da'wa" from "Why Islam" I've run into. Last September I found a table set up at a station in San Francisco. I hope no one minds if I repeat my post of my experience:

I just had my first serious experience of Da'wa. It was pretty disturbing.

I was down in San Francisco's Mongomery Street BART station, and there was a 'Why Islam' table set up, right in the main concourse. (Of course, I myself ask "why Islam" on a regular basis).

I was rather taken aback, but decided that I should see what they had to say. There were two people manning the table--a hostile dude in full beard who did nothing but scowl at me--an "uncovered" woman in a short-sleeved dress. The other guy looked a lot more approachable, though--a young, clean-shaven, smiling fellow.

I told him I was interested in learning more about Islam and had read the Qu'ran in translation (true). They had a lot of glossy and attractive brochures--"Women in Islam", "Ecology and Islam", "Jesus in Islam", "The Last Prophet", etc. I knew I couldn't tackle every topic, so I just chose two--Jesus in Islam and the status of women.

I scanned the brochures--there was a lot of Taqiyya--we revere Jesus, just like Christians, we respect women, etc. I expected more of the same from this friendly fellow (I found out he was from Iran). At first, that's just what I got. As he found out I was at least a little bit knowledgable about Islam, though, I was truly shocked at what he admitted to me.

I said I knew that Islam revered Jesus and Mary. He enthusiastically confirmed this. I went on to say that I realized that the Islamic Isa wasn't exactly the Christian Jesus--that, for instance, he had never been crucified, etc, etc. He agreed and expanded on this. And I said that I knew that according to Islam Isa would return in the final days to smite Christians. I thought he would demur at this--but no. He said, "of course, because they have lied about him!" Note--he did not say that Christians were mistaken about Isa, his history, or true nature--but that they *lied* and were deserving of being cut down.

I admit I was rather stunned by his admission. We went on to talk about women in Islam. He asserted that women in Islam are respected and are fully equal to men. I brought up a few things such as polygamy, the worth of women's testimony and wife beating. He started to backtrack--saying this was all cultural. I mentioned little Aisha marrying the Prophet at the age of nine. He said some scholars thought she might have been sixteen (we've heard this before). I cut him off and said I supposed that Islam has a different interpretation of "respect" from what it meant in the West.

I was surprised--he immediately dropped the "cultural" argument. He warmed to the topic, saying, yes, that Allah had a different plan for women. I asked again about Aisha--he dropped his assertion that she was older and freely admitted that marriage to young girls was allowed in Islam, and was considered "beneficial" to them.

I mentioned the hadith where Mohammed had counseled that a girl should not see her first blood (menstruation) in her father's house. He said he was not familiar with that hadith but was going to look it up. He sounded quite enthusiastic. (Later, I looked up the quote and realized that I had screwed up--this wasn't a quote from Mo, but from Ayatolla Khomeni).

I said that, well, this wasn't lawful in the West, which he acknowledged. I said, but, if we were living under Shari'ah... at this point, he did demur--saying, hurredly that, of course, everything would be different then, but we're not. He gave me a slew of brochures, then, rather surprisingly--given the startling conversation we had just had--shook my hand. He said I could call or check out the web site if I had any more questions.

I *never* thought a proponant of Da'wa would admit so much ugliness to a strange Infidel--and a woman at that. I guess he thought that because I was familiar with some of these Islamic ideas, that I agreed with them.

Incidently--Mongomery station is in the very heart of downtown San Francisco's financial district. Montgomery street is known as "the Wall Street of the West" for the presence of the Pacific Stock Exchange.

I later asked a BART station agent if "Why Islam" had a permit to set up there. The agent didn't know anything about it, and wasn't all that interested..
...................................

I never was able to find out if they had a permit. Either way, though, I'm sure that BART staff regarded them no differently than they would have a table set up by the Jehova's Witnesses, say, or the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter Day Saints. I imagine, though, that they would be rather shocked to find out the nature of this "preaching".

But "Why Islam" is right about one thing, at least--we do indeed "deserve to know".

Maybe that's a prelude to a subway attack of some kind. Remember their "faith" commands them to "offer" us to "accept" their sick cult before they are commanded to perform active jihad against us.

My idea for a COUNTER BLITZ :
Place similar ads on at least a thousand subway cars with various eye opening quotes from the Koran, with references, such as:

The Koran says
2:10 Disbelievers are diseased.
2:99 Disbelievers are evil people.
2:104 For disbelievers is a painful doom.
2:171 Disbelievers are deaf, dumb, and blind.
3:28 Let not the believers take disbelievers for their friends in preference of believers.
3:73 Don't believe anyone who is not a Muslim.
3:48 Don't be friends with non-Muslims. They all hate you and want to ruin you.
4:89 Have no unbelieving friends. Kill the unbelievers wherever you find them.
4:63 Oppose those who refuse to follow Muhammad.
4:101The disbelievers are an open enemy to you.
4:144 Do not choose disbelievers as friends.
5:51 Don't take Jews or Christians for friends. If you do, then Allah will consider you to be one of them.
5:51 Jews and Christians are losers.
5:60 Allah turned unbelievers into apes and swine.
5:59 Jews and Christians are evil people.
5:57 Don't choose Jews, Christians, or disbelievers as guardians.
6:106 Stay away from disbelievers.
8:55 The worst beasts in Allah's sight are the disbelievers.
9:5 Slay the disbelievers wherever you find them.
9:28 Disbelievers are unclean.
9:29 Fight against Jews and Christians until they pay the protection money while feeling humiliated. 9:30 Christians and Jews are perverse. Allah himself fights against them.

Maybe throw in some choice episodes from the Hadiths such as Muhammad’s sex with a little 9 year old girl, along with quotes from the Koran about how Muhammad is a perfect model of behavior.

Who could object? It’s all true and educational. Muslims keep saying we infidels should know more about Islam.

As a NYC patyron myself, five days a week, I will certainly do my part.

I might suggest to my fellow NYC'ers to print the message, with the obvious link to www.jihadwatch.org on all your non-permanent applications over the jihadist's message.

If you drop a permanent message sticker on top of the jihad, so be it, but you certtainly can't hold me accountable for utterly fantastic advice.

Lan Astalem!

YOU DESERVE TO KNOW: JIHADWATCH.ORG

Every day in this city, some 4.9 million people ride the subways - that is a lot of people," he says.

Out of the mouth of this snake, this is not an encouraging statement.

Relax, I and many others are on the job on this one.

When does Ramadan start anyway?

I actually called the MTA today to get pricing on 1,000 ads saying Q: Siraj Wahhaj A: You deserve to know, with a link to a website..... they gave me a bit of a runaround. Pricing is $34,000 - $40,000 and they can't guarantee placement next to the other ads. Interestingly enough the salesperson seemed very concerned about my interest in placing these ads. He actually said he doesn't want a "turf war", I told him that I'm not looking for a turf war - just exercising the same right to free speech that is being enjoyed by this other group. I explained that as I travel the subway every day and it is already considered to be a target for terrorists, I would like an opportunity to present information that can help protect riders that are maybe not as informed as they could be on who Siraj Wahhaj is.

Wellington, thank you so much for your kind words. I have thought that I should seek out some of those "interfaith" nights at local mosques where I might ask some uncomfortable questions. I always worry, though, that I am neither knowledgable enough nor articulate enough. Still, if I could cut through even a bit of the Taqiyya and raise a few questions in the minds of other Infidels, it would be a good thing.

Shocked, good for you~!! Brilliant.

Awake, thanks! Nice to know you're on it .

I am just so angry and frustrated about these ads, what gall.

Briars - to quote Ron Weasley - that's b****y brilliant! If one of those could be neatly attached to every single subway ad...

New York jihadwatchers: Ummah Gummah, ethoman, the ball's in your court. Go go go!! Banners, posters, stickers, creative photoshopping, graffiti, balloons...letters to the editor of all the NY papers.

(Maybe on September 11 there could be a protest event at Ground Zero, with a group of people holding up a great big placard or a banner entitled "You Deserve to Know - Osama Did It Because We're Not Muslims". And, just to get the Muslims' goat, "LAN ASTASLEM, We Will Not Submit".)

Do please give Mr Spencer a full report on your achievements, when it's all over.

BTW - in Australia ages ago we had a group called BUGA UP who used to do creative graffiti raids upon ads that they deemed offensive (e.g. cigarette ads, back when cigarettes were still advertised on billboards).

This is DEFINITELY a case for many New York counter-jihadi incarnations of BUGA UP.

Just in case the 'Discover Islam' propaganda posters/ pamphlets start getting handed out to US kafir in the course of this latest Muslim da'wa effort, and you encounter family, friends, workmates or classmates who have been given them, I herewith provide a link to a very useful website that contains a masterly deconstruction of same (and, thus, of many of the usual lies and half-lies that are employed to make Islam look good):

http://revuse.wetpaint.com/page/Discover%20Islam?t=anon

And here's another website, specifically for those here who are Christians:
http://www.30-days.net/

If you are a Christian, especially a New York Christian! - I urge you to advertise it as widely as you can. During Ramadan I and many other Christians will be praying daily for the Defeat of the Jihad and for the Conversion of Muslims to Christianity.

dumbledoresarmy -

Thanks for that 30 days site! And what a testament to the difference between these two religions. Christianity teaches its followers to pray for Muslims. Islam teaches its followers to hate Christians.

You know, if the New Yorkers here are sufficiently busy little bees, this whole thing could backfire on the Muslims very nicely indeed.

I've just had an idea.

Copy and print out A4 size mini-posters showing some of the more arresting images of the victims from 9/11: with caption, "'Why Were They Murdered? - You Deserve to Know': visit www.jihadwatch.org" [or provide the web address for the Centre For the Study of Political Islam'], and leave them behind, every time you use the subway.

As for a suitable protest on 9/11 itself: besides what I've already suggested, groups of people could get together, at Ground Zero, or in Central Park, or Times Square, or on a ferry, or other iconic New York locations, and conduct public readings - or, rather, dramatic declamations - of Oriana Fallaci's "The Rage and the Pride", in its original Italian, and in English. And at the end of it, toast Oriana herself, and the Mayor, the Fire Department, the Police, the Citizens of New York, and the USA, and Italy; and drink to the memory of those who were murdered, and to the Defeat of the Jihad.

Invite the New York Fire Department and Police Department and the Mayor - since among other things, a great deal of the opening part of Oriana's magnificent diatribe, is a passionate love letter to America, and to New York City.

Where in the hell is the US government. They need to stop being PC and start taking care of this problem called Islam.

With these "people" or maybe I should say "scum", at some point, and I do hope it is soon, Americans who are sick and tired of this crap will take matters in their own hands if our government insists on sitting by and doing nothing.

If you muslims don't like it here, get the hell out and go where your barbaric religion and beliefs are welcome on so many sick levels.

Imagine the Nazi Party putting up posters in the New York subway system in early 1942.

Is it possible that all the comments under the promotional video on youtube posted during the last few hours got "lost" somehow? Never mind, I will repost my "favorite" passages from the Quran.

Agree with Hugh's suggestion.

Free speech is our shield.

Let's take them on.

savsiv

you said "I would rather see ads about the US icons of freedom, Great Presidents and war heroes."

Good idea. I suggest New York jihadwatchers prepare posters or leaflets featuring a 'famous president' and what he said about Islam, and how to deal with it.

First: image of Thomas Jefferson - with his remarks vis a vis what he believed to be the best method of dealing with the Barbary Pirates [Muslim jihadists who attacked the ships of the newborn United States] - "Millions for defence but not one cent for tribute", together with the report that Jefferson and John Quincy Adams brought back from their interview with the 'Dey of Algiers' ambassador in London:

'In a later meeting with the American Congress, the two future presidents reported that Ambassador Sidi Haji Abdul Rahman Adja had answered that Islam "was founded on the Laws of their Prophet, that it was written in their Quran, that all nations who should not have acknowledged their authority were sinners, that it was their right and duty to make war upon them wherever they could be found, and to make slaves of all they could take as Prisoners, and that every Musselman (Muslim) who should be slain in Battle was sure to go to Paradise."'

Or a nice portrait of John Quincy Adams, combined with *his* summary of Islam - obviously he, too, had used his common sense when confronted by the likes of the Dey of Algiers' ambassador.

Or an iconic image of Theodore Roosevelt, and what *he* had to say (in a passage unearthed by R-not, and shared with the rest of us here on jihadwatch in December last year):

'On pages 70-71 of the book, “Fear God and Take Your Own Part”, Theodore Roosevelt wrote of his address to the American Sociological Congress:

“The civilization of Europe, America and Australia exists today at all only because of the victories of civilized man over the enemies of civilization, because of victories stretching through the centuries from Charles Martel in the 8th century and those of John Sobieski in the 17th century.

'During the 1000 years that included the careers of the Frankish soldier and the Polish King, the Christians of Asia and Africa proved unable to wage successful war with the Moslem conquerers; and in consequence Christianity practically vanished from the two continents; and today nobody can find in them any ‘social values’ whatever in the sense of which we use the words, so far as the sphere of Mohammedan influences are concerned.

'There are such ‘social values’ today in Europe, America, and Australia only because during those 1000 years the Christians of Europe possessed the warlike power to do what the Christians of Asia and Africa had failed to do – that is, to beat back the Moslem invader.

'If European militarism had not been able to defend itself against and to overcome the militarism of Asia and Africa, there would be no ‘social values’ of any kind in our world today, and no sociologists to discuss them.”'

Are there any more such, tucked away in the history books, that could do with dusting off and publicising?

I wonder whether Lincoln, in the course of his challenge to the practice of slavery, ever referred to Islam?

Herre's one from William Gladstone:

"They [Muslims] were, upon the whole, from the black day when they first entered Europe, the one great anti-human specimen of humanity. Wherever they went, a broad line of blood marked the track behind them, and, as far as their dominion reached, civilization disappeared from view. They represented everywhere government by forces opposed to government by law." – William Gladstone – former British Prime Minister.

And here's a passage from A Carlebach, a clear-headed Jewish Zionist writing in Ma'ariv in 1955:

"These Arab Islamic countries do not suffer from poverty, or disease, or illiteracy, or exploitation; they only suffer from the worst of all plagues: Islam.

"Wherever Islamic psychology rules, there is the inevitable rule of despotism and criminal aggression.

‘The danger lies in Islamic psychology, which cannot integrate itself into the world of efficiency and progress, that lives in a world of illusion, perturbed by attacks of inferiority complexes and megalomania, lost in dreams of the holy sword.

"The danger stems from the totalitarian conception of the world, the passion for murder deeply rooted in their blood, from the lack of logic, the easily inflamed brains, the boasting, and above all: the blasphemous disregard for all that is sacred to the civilized world...their reactions -- to anything -- have nothing to do with good sense.

"They are all emotion, unbalanced, instantaneous, senseless. It is always the lunatic that speaks from their throat.

"You can talk 'business' with everyone, and even with the devil. But not with Allah...

"This is what every grain in this country [eretz Israel] shouts. There were many great cultures here, and invaders of all kinds. All of them -- even the Crusaders -- left signs of culture and blossoming.

"But on the path of Islam, even the flies have died.

"We pile sin upon crime when we distort the picture and reduce the discussion to a conflict of border between Israel and her neighbors... The heart of the conflict is not the question of the borders; it is the question of Muslim psychology.....".

dumbledoresarmy:

Great work! Those quotes are fabulous. Here are a few other remarks by V.S Naipaul regarding Islam.

"There has probably been no imperialism like that of Islam and the Arabs." "Islam seeks as an article of faith to erase the past; the believers in the end honour Arabia alone; they have nothing to return to. Islam requires the convert to accept that his land is of no religious or historical importance; its relics were of no account; only the sands of Arabia are sacred."
source: Interview by Dilip Padgaonkar The Times of India 18 July 1993

In 'Among The Believers' he asserts that Islam is an eraser of past histories, that wherever Islam conquers it determinedly stamps out preceding civilizations, just as in India and Indonesia, it stamped out the Buddhist-Hindu legacy and destroyed historical memory.

"In India, unlike Iran, there never was a complete Islamic conquest. Although the Muslims ruled much of North India from 1200A.D. to 1700A.D., in the 18th century, the Mahrattas and the Sikhs destroyed Muslim power, and created their own empires, before the advent of the British....The British introduced the New Learning of Europe, to which the Hindus were more receptive than the Muslims. This caused the beginning of the intellectual distance between the two communities. This distance has grown with independence....Muslim insecurity led to the call for the creation of Pakistan. It went at the same time with an idea of old glory, of the invaders sweeping down from the northwest and looting the temples of Hindustan and imposing faith on the infidel. The fantasy still lives: and for the Muslim converts of the subcontinent it is the start of their neurosis, because in this fantasy the convert forgets who or what he is and becomes the violator."

I sure hope those of you in NYC will keep us posted on what you do to respond to or "enhance" these despicable posters.

Good luck!
