The Muslim Brotherhood: Now on Facebook

Forget Scrabulous, will there be a Halal or Haram application? "Egypt: Muslim Brotherhood goes on-line on Facebook," from Adnkronos International, July 25:

Cairo, 25 July (AKI) - The Muslim Brotherhood in Egypt has launched a discussion forum on Facebook, the popular social networking website.
A group of young Muslims decided to put the Muslim Brotherhood on Facebook after they received the go-ahead to do so from the Brotherhood's second-in-command, Muhammad Habib.
The creators of the project decided to call themselves an "electronic student cell of the Muslim Brotherhood" and their aim to to push for the return of an Islamic Caliphate [a Muslim state]."
The Muslim Brotherhood has been outlawed by the Egyptian government, which accuses the group of encouraging violence in order to establish an Islamic state.
This new youth wing decided to choose the Internet as a way to spread their message.
Their political activity is also not limited to Egypt either but is aimed at Muslims all around the world.
The new discussion forum on Facebook is based on five points.
The first is the organisation of protests in all Muslim countries for the salvation of Islam and issues of the Islamic nation.
The second issue refers to the spread of the stories of the Prophet Mohammad with regards to the caliphate and the third point is a request to all imams to talk about this issue in their sermons.
The fourth and fifth points are spreading of leaflets to remind Muslims of the importance of the caliphate and to sensitize all Islamic parties and organisations to support this initiative.
This forum on Facebook was endorsed by Habib, even if he believes that this group of young people are not actually militants of his movement.
"I do not think that the youth of the Muslim Brotherhood do something like this because they cannot think in this way," said Habib in an interview with Arab satellite television network Al-Arabiya.
"Our young people follow the direction of the management and they do not work separately, starting individual activities without waiting for the common decision of the movement," he said.
Despite the remarks by Habib, other Muslim Brotherhood leaders, such as the parliamentarian, Hamdi Hasan, have strongly criticised the initiative of the youth group.
"It is based on a campaign that does not have sense and could be read as an internal division of his movement promoted by the new generation," said Hasan.

I've often checked out FB for Arab names, they are there alright, but all are "private" profiles so unless you are a "friend" you can't see anything. This made me wonder if the FBI NSA or CIA are checking the pix that are posted along with the names. FB would be a good communication site between the ISlamofacists, so hopefully someone is watching. Given the chance, I will "object" to a posting and report it just to annoy them. That's the least I can do.

Amazing how Islamists will use "kaffir" things when it suits them. How they can load up at "haraam" seller Costco, which sells delicious hams and wines in huge quantities (no khat or camel urine I'm afraid), then go home and denigrate non-Muslims as apes and pigs. Such is life with a divided Muslim mind. One side in reason, the other side stuck in mendacious robotic hate mode.

What are you? Some kind of Islamophobe?
JUST KIDDING!

I bet they aren't. That's common sense. Sadly, common sense, seem to be a little too 'far
out of the box' for our government.

On the other hand, I wouldn't be a bit surprised to find out they were keeping tabs on us Jihad Watchers

"I do not think that the youth of the Muslim Brotherhood do something like this because they cannot think. . . . "said Habib

That about sums up islam.

I keep thinking the same thing, Max. Everything newer than the 7th century is supposedly haraam unless they like it. So modern clothing, haircuts, driving (applies to women only), dating are still haraam, but internet, cell phones, firearms, plastic explosives, airplanes, "western" education (applies to men only), television etc. etc. etc. okey dokey.

What a screwed up social philosophy. I don't know how they keep up with what's allowed and what isn't. Of course if an imam wants to do something that's generally forbidden, he just has to re-interpret the koran and hadith to allow it.

While the Muslim Brotherhood might be "banned" in Egypt. Individual members of the group are slowly taking over the government there.

I'm not that familiar with Facebook, but I have to wonder how many other "gangs" are listed there.

I've just logged on and looked at their group page and here it is:

Assalaamu Alaikum, May peace be upon you.
I welcome you all to share with Muslim Brotherhood group.
Our ideology: We are not Sunni, nor Shi'ite(Shia), nor Ahole Hadith etc. We are Muslims [Surrender to the Allah (SWT) only and exclusively]. Here:

Muslim brothers and sisters who can share there concerns, daily maters, religious questions and more... to try our best to unite all Muslims from different sects and groups on a single platform on the basis of the Holy Qur’an and the Hadith.
[Al-Qur’an 3:103] "And hold fast, All together, by the rope Which Allah (stretches out for you), and be not divided among yourselves;"

[Al-Qur’an 6:159]
As for those who divide
Their religion and break up
Into sects, thou hast
No part in them in the least:
Their affair is with Allah:
He will in the end
Tell them the truth
Of all that they did."

[The Holy Qur’an 2:256] “There is no compulsion in religion.....”
[The Holy Qur’an 3:190] “Most surely in the creation of the Universe and the earth and the alternation of the night and the day there are signs (about the existence of An Almighty Allah) for men who understand.”

[The Holy Qur’an 35:28] “The people who truly reverence Allah are those who are knowledgeable. ALLAH is Almighty, Forgiving.”
May Allah forgive us and accept our efforts ... Ameen.

I just poked around on FB looking at the different groups, then connecting to the groups that are posted via the Muslim Brotherhood pages.

All I can say is ugh. So many groups, most professing to "unite" Muslims. Then there's the groups calling for young muslims to unite and take their rightful place (??). Another one calling for all Muslims to join so they can launch a vendetta against another group called "Boycott everything Muslim". Pictures posted of swords, videos of "charity" work. Lots of arabic writing.

I hope the FBI has a full staff working on stuff like this. And if they don't, they should do.

The whole thing made me sick.

I dont see why they cannot use Facebook .It is a way to send messages and communicate with friends around the world,

and let the Homeland security people have fun trying to find some coded messages.

I have no problem with the Muslim brotherhood using face book I have a problem with the people in this country not defending their culture
and their way of life . In the name of political correctness, the liberals are digging their own graves. Islam cannot integrate here period. keep this out of America . they are free to do what they want in their own country.

Posted by: Tartine [TypeKey Profile Page] at July 26, 2008 12:57 AM

The only way to deal with Muslims is to do unto them what they do unto others.

Posted by: AtheistAfghan [TypeKey Profile Page] at July 26, 2008 3:12 AM

Great news.

Posted by: FreeSpeech [TypeKey Profile Page] at July 26, 2008 3:39 AM

they say they are united, just the above article you see that the older muslims are not thrilled with what the younger generation are doing on FB. we should start a FB with everything but muslims that would be fun .

Thank you so much for bringing this up. However, this is not the only terrorist group on Facebook. There are PLENTY. The JIDF has been fighting antisemitic and pro-Jihadist trends on Facebook for quite some time. On our site, you may see the most comprehensive list of these types of groups. We have had thousands of people report the Muslim Brotherhood group thousands of times, (along w/ hundreds of other groups) and we have spoken to Facebook brass directly about the problem---which grows significantly day by day. Unfortunately Facebook views these types of groups as "legitimate political discourse..." and does not help so much in taking them down--so the JIDF does what it has to do in order to do it :) It makes no sense that murder and terrorism can be promoted on Facebook's (American) servers.

P.S. You can visit the JIDF (Jewish Internet Defense Force) by clicking on my name. The URL is http://thejidf.org. Again, we have a very comprehensive list of these types of groups and the Muslim Brotherhood has been on it for months.
