Gaza summer camps teach kids to fire rockets

"Unity and principle maintaining camps"

"Hamas alone is currently conducting no less than 300 summer camps for tens of thousands of children." By Ali Waked for YNet News, July 31:

In the Gaza Strip, as in Israel, children are currently in the midst of summer vacation, and the Hamas and Islamic Jihad’s “summer camps” are in full gear. In the past few weeks, the Palestinian groups have been holding camps throughout the strip, some of them proudly displaying rockets and other weaponry.
Hamas alone is currently conducting no less than 300 summer camps for tens of thousands of children, and the focus is on familiarizing kids with the Palestinian towns and cities destroyed in 1948, as well as instilling religious fervor in them. The camps also feature sports and military-type trainings such as crawling under barbed-wire.
Islamic Jihad has also launched its own summer camps, offering some 10,000 children activities similar to those of Hamas. The kids study passages from the Koran and participate in quizzes on religious matters, with emphasis on the required commitment to political prisoners and Palestinian land. They also learn how to hold a Qassam rocket-launcher.
An Islamic Jihad operative told Ynet that the students were not exposed to real rockets but to ones made of plastic. “In the camps we emphasize the need to unite and put an end to the internal struggles. We called them ‘unity and principle maintaining camps.’”
The third organization conducting summer camps in the Gaza Strip is United Nations Relief Association (UNRA.) Fatah is abstaining from camp operation for the second year in a row, due to the limitations placed on the movement by Hamas, as well as its meager financial resources as a result of Hamas’ takeover.

They have to convince the children to end internal struggles because the adults are too far gone to do it...

The West is always being blamed by leftists and their Muslim friends about how our engagement in the Muslim world will destabilize the region, when it is precisely destabilization that's the answer. Islam has destabilized the entire region for over a thousand years, so the more Western destabilization the better. Here's an illustration of that, Pigman-style

What's with the sleazy fishnet hijab, lipstick and exposed forearms? What kind of traing camps are Hamas running, child prostitution? Clean up your act, Hamas, this is worthy of takfir! Don't you know this is why Allah is not blessing you?

What a bunch of brainwashing on a large scale, and setting the hearts and minds of kids in the support of jihad! The learning themes are far different from those which are used in the summer camps my church sends kids to. They learn about peace, making friends, living a good example, and helping their neighbor. I fear that we have too many nutcases on the loose in the world, and this Muslim gathering, not tiny or on the fringe of Islam in the least, is heading for a fireball showdown with non-Muslim world powers. This is a time for very careful and informed decision-making on the part of world leaders, or the world as we have known it and enjoyed it will crumble and vanish.

Thats right, Google have shut The Illustrated P.I.G down.

Yep Google have just handed another small victory to the islamists

Interesting.....While our children are playing Little League, Soccer and scrambling for Hannah Montana tickets (..and I would not want them doing anything else), children in Muslim countries around the world are being brainwashed and taught to kill. If Western civilization continues to bury it's head in the sand and pretend it sees no evil, the consequences of what we see in this article will be dire. For every "Robert Spencer" out there educating people about the truth there are ten "you are just an Islamophobic"s out there trying to politically correct everything to some socioeconomic cause or injustice that fuels the jihad. Wake up Westerners. "An ostrich burying it's head in the sand won't keep a lion from biting it in the ass."

Infidel camps for children teach arts and crafts and participate in exercises that promote sports abilities and healthy health habits. Infidel camps have music, games, canoeing, horseback riding, and maybe some fishing activities..Infidel camps try to make children happy and to give them experiences they will always remember..

Muslim camps preach hate and give the children skills to kill with and prepares them to be ready to die...

the background in the photo appears to be in a park...hmmm, The Muslims appear to be teaching the children to fire rockets when surrounded by civilians...that way, when the counter attack comes and the civilians are killed, they can then say to the world that the Infidels are killing civilians...an old, but tried and true Muslim tactic...used even to this day...

Gaza summer camps teach kids to fire rockets

Man, how come I never got to learn that stuff when I went to summer camp? All we did was boring stuff, like hiking on trails, singing around the campfire, and church services.

I'll bet they even have the Mickey Mouse look-alike at the camps, telling all the kids to kill the Jooos!

Kind of surreal, isn't it. I mean, the utter silence of the Left on this kind of thing.

Yes.... this is that wonderful 'temporary calm' or 'ceasefire' of the 'hudna' in the south that Olmert and Peres and the whole liberal left gang has fought for. This is the hope of peace that they have traded away the hopes and strength of Israel to obtain. The ability of the arabs and Islam to train entire generations in homicidism, or Islam at work. The Jihad. And we get to be forced to never use the words, Jihad, or Islamic Jihad, even though it's the name they choose ( for the peaceful one's mind you, not the 'bad' one's called Hamas), and we are forced to believe- or else- that it is the Israeli's who are 'intransigent'.

In fact, the presumptive next president, officially denounced the Likud party and all those who don't understand the necessary flexibility to 'solve' this.

Solve it? It's what created it, and feeds it, and forces us to accept 'it'. What is it?

Homicidal Islamic belief, that hates Jews, denies any right to any land, ever, and in fact teaches children to homicide all infidels.

Quite a summercamp, eh?

And we're not allowed to use Jihad and Islam in the same sentence? And that's not Obama and his band, but the presumptive hard nosed one's, the repubs.

And that's our western, year round camp.

Anyone giving money to any ME charity runs the risk of funding this type of deceit.

The powers that be in the ME have plenty of money from oil revenue, let them fund their own 'camps'. Don't help them train their kids to kill us.

Camp? No soccer, nature study, pottery, drama, music, archery, that sort of thing, that Camp Wah-Kee-La or Camp Minne-Ha-Ha ordinarily provide?

Just that wake-up trumpet call, and you roll out of bed, and find that one more day just like the next, grimly devoted to rocket--firing, that is to hate and to death, for boys and girls of every age group into which the happy campers were initially divided, from the chipmunks right up through the foxes and the bears -- or are they simply given different levels of shahid status, with the rewards promised shahids primly left unstated?

To get the al firdous badge you have to on the receiving end of a rocket and not the launching end. But anyhow it's a start.

It's not only the Qur'an, or the Hadith, or the splendid example of Muhammad taken from the Sira, that provides reading material. Oh no. There's lots of other stuff too.

Yes, during the day, during rest periods or quiet times, and then again just before bedtime, the counsellers can read all kinds of good things to the campers. Why, for the older kids – ten and up – there’s "Oppression and the Oppressors" by Shiekh-Ul-Islam Ibn Taymiyyah, with Imam Ibnul Qayym Al- Jawziyah, Imam Ibn Rajjab Al-Hanbali, Imam Mohammad Mutawali Al Sha'rawi. And little campers are sure derive a scary thrill, at bedtime, from hearing counselors read aloud from that perennial favorite, “Waswasah – The Whisper of Shaitan” by Imam ibn Qayyim al-Juziyyah. And campers of any age, and counselors too, can all listening together to taped readings – tapedecks supplied by the American government, which is also paying for the camps -- from “The Protocols of the Elders of Zion.” Now that’s an audiobook, from a book, based on an idea that never goes out of fashion.

"An Islamic Jihad operative told Ynet that the students were not exposed to real rockets but to ones made of plastic."

Two ways to look at this one:

1. They're making sure the killers-in-training don't die too early.
2. They're "protecting" the children from injury.

You can guess which one the Left will choose.

Those girls didn't say "cheese"! They look downright uncomfortable. Some photographer fell down on the job.

It would be nice to know why anyone in the West should ever again care about Palestinian children. First they are used as props in the fight against Israel and everyone everywhere excoriates Israel if a single "child" dies in an attack. Now they are being taught to man rocket launchers.
Palestinian (and all Muslim) children are being used as weapons. It seems only the ones in diapers are still innocent. That doesn't prevent their parents from using them as well. Remember the baby bottle plan that now prevents all of us from bringing our own items onto the plane. Take all Palestinian children under the age of three away from their parents. The rest cannot be saved.

Posted by: PMK [TypeKey Profile Page] at July 31, 2008 9:02 AM

This is cruel. Those girls don't have a hope in hell of getting to fire a rocket! At best they'll be given an explosive vest, with the detonator in their own hand, rather than a remote, controlled by their father, brother, uncle, son...

I learned archery and horseback riding at camp.

Posted by: give me doughnuts [TypeKey Profile Page] at July 31, 2008 9:31 AM

And I bet in your camp, with the horseback riding and archery, they read to the youngest campers at bedtime, from "Goodnight Moon," and to the slightly older ones, read from "Stuart Little" and "Charlotte's Web." But not from "Waswasah -- The Whisper of Shaitan." No, I'm sure of it.

How long until we see this news article:

"Fatah suicide bomber kindergarten camps forced to close doors; UN blames Israeli blockade of Gaza"

Then AP or Reuters would probably go with the tear-jerker human interest angle...

July 31 (Gaza City): Muhammad Rashid was hoping to send his five-year-old daughter, Aisha, to Fatah's summer camp. Now she is stuck at home with her education on hold.

"She was going to learn the Koran and how to kill Jews," Mr. Rashid says. "Now she just sits around. At least the kids can throw rocks at the local church."

Since Hamas won the 2006 Palestinian elections in Gaza, US and EU aid has stopped coming into Gaza while the crossings into Israel have been shut down. Israeli officials claim this is necessary to prevent terrorism. For Mr. Rashid and other Palestinians, this looks more like collective punishment. The UN human rights committee, chaired by the Sudan, agrees with Mr. Rashid.

"My 16-year-old son, Ishmail, was going to blow himself up on a bus in Jerusalem," says Mr. Rashid. "I was counting on the 25,000 dollar reward. Don't I have a right to feed my family?"

Imam Khaled al-Hussaini is the spiritual leader of Gaza's largest mosque. He says he hears similar complaints from many local fathers. Al-Hussaini is a gentle man with a degree in child psychology from Northwest Oklahoma. He speaks softly, but his sense of outrage is clear.

"This is an attack on Islam. The Jews have no respect for 1400 years of Islamic tradition," explains Mr. al-Hussaini. "We have been taught that work is for the Infidel dogs, the Jews and the Christians, who our prophet demands must submit to Islam and pay [tribute] to Muslims."

While this may sound harsh to Western ears, Mr. al-Hussaini says that the payments to Muslims is for the Jews and Christians own protection. "This is the same reason Allah requires that Infidels should not have weapons. We would hate for the people to become outraged by their aggressive behavior. We want to live in peace, but the Jews only teach war."

Meanwhile for Mr. Rashid, all is not bleak. While the Israeli blockade has kept him from the 25,000 dollar martyr award, he has found another option for his daughter's summer activities. Both Hamas and Islamic Jihad are now running camps that prepare the children to become suicide bombers. Aisha is one of 30,000 youngsters who are also taking lessons on firing rockets into Israel.

"They [Israelis] have forced us to turn to Hamas. We are a peaceful people," says Mr. Rashid, "but we are desperate." It appears Israel's blockade of Gaza, which has prevented Fatah's suicide bomber camps from opening this summer, has pushed another generation of Palestinians into the arms of the militants.

Just a thought about this abomination of the MUSLIMS.
I met a 15 yr old, who was being sponsored by my kids daycamp in NJ. They sponsored 10 youngsters from Sderot, Israel, which is about 1 mile from the border of Gaza. They've had what, 6000 kassams thrown at them. They get 15 seconds to head for cover once one is spotted.....

And this town, the town of Sderot... is a sephardic, mostly blue collar working class town, which by the way, the leftards who've run Israel, into absurdity, have abandoned... for that snake hiss of a word..... peacceeeeeeeeee.
They have allowed them to be bombarded, to suffer and so as to show than Israel isn't important, jews aren't important, and judea, samaria aren't important.... peaceeeeeeeeeee..... is important.

And this is peace. The MUSLIMS... the rotten sickening evil MUSLIMS and arabs, teaching CHILDREN of the holy right to homicide anyone.

I was visiting Gush Katif, and then went to Sderot, and a kassam hit just as we were leaving. Incredible people, wonderful people.

And this is what we fund... not them, but the arabs to slaughter jews and mutilate Israel.... for peaceeeeeeeee..........

4infidels,

Great piece. The best was:

"My 16-year-old son, Ishmail, was going to blow himself up on a bus in Jerusalem," says Mr. Rashid. "I was counting on the 25,000 dollar reward. Don't I have a right to feed my family?"

My reaction: Dad, go blow YOURSELF up if you're so worried about feeding your family. Your son can lead the family.

Have the Palestinians found a new sponsor since Saddam bit the dust? Does Iran pay the families now?

We didn't even get to do that. Boy do I feel cheated!

The most dangerous thing we did was sit around the campfire and roast marshmallows. And we sang "Cum-ba-ya" and "We are one in the Spirit".

One of the biggest injustice we have done in recent times is to compel Israel to leave Gaza and parts of the Westbank. We should have paid their expenses to administer those areas. Then you wouldn't have this kind of child abuse going on.

Hamas' Christian convert: I've left a society that sanctifies terror

By Avi Issacharoff

A moment before beginning his supper, Masab, son of West Bank Hamas
leader Sheikh Hassan Yousef, glances at the friend who has accompanied
him to the restaurant where we met. They whisper a few words and then
say grace, thanking God and Jesus for putting food on their plates.

It takes a few seconds to digest this sight: The son of a Hamas MP who
is also the most popular figure in that extremist Islamic organization,
a young man who assisted his father for years in his political
activities, has become a rank-and-file Christian. "I'm now called
Joseph," he says at the outset.

Masab knows that he has little hope of returning to visit the Holy Land
in this lifetime.

"I know that I'm endangering my life and am even liable to lose my
father, but I hope that he'll understand this and that God will give him
and my family patience and willingness to open their eyes to Jesus and
to Christianity. Maybe one day I'll be able to return to Palestine and
to Ramallah with Jesus, in the Kingdom of God."

Nor does he attempt to hide his affection for Israel, or his abhorrence
of everything representing the surroundings in which he grew up: the
nation, the religion, the organization.

"Send regards to Israel, I miss it. I respect Israel and admire it as a
country," he says.

"You Jews should be aware: You will never, but never have peace with
Hamas. Islam, as the ideology that guides them, will not allow them to
achieve a peace agreement with the Jews. They believe that tradition
says that the Prophet Mohammed fought against the Jews and that
therefore they must continue to fight them to the death."

Is that the justification for the suicide attacks?

"More than that. An entire society sanctifies death and the suicide
terrorists. In Palestinian culture a suicide terrorist becomes a hero, a
martyr. Sheikhs tell their students about the 'heroism of the
shaheeds.'"

And yet, in spite of the criticism of the place he left, California
can't make the longings disappear.

"I miss Ramallah," he says. "People with an open mind. ... I mainly
miss my mother, my brothers and sisters, but I know that it will be very
difficult for me to return to Ramallah soon

Gaza summer camps teach kids to fire rockets
...............................

So, this is summer camp in sunny Gaza. Here, in contrast, is a summer camp in neighboring Israel, from a story on MSNBC:

NEGBA, Israel, July 12 (2002)— There are those too young to vote or to fight, but who are victims in the Middle East violence: the children. It’s summer vacation time for kids on both sides of the conflict, who’ve lost brothers, sisters, mothers, and fathers. And there is a special summer camp for Israeli children, inspired by a terrible common bond.

NINE-YEAR-OLD Pesi Roth kisses her parents goodbye and heads off on a bulletproof bus for a week of summer camp like no other. On a guarded kibbutz in southern Israel, Pesi is part of an experiment in rebuilding shattered lives.
...............................

Pesi's 15-year-old sister, Malke, was murdered in August 2001 in a suicide bombing at a pizza restaurant in Jerusalem. Many of the victims were teenagers and young children.

The bomber's accomplice, a student at Bir Zeit University, wrote for the student newspaper before her arrest. In one of her articles, she cited a poll of Palestinian children's attitudes. The findings:

"Of those aged between 8 and 13, 86% were 'thinking of offering to suicide themselves', says the teacher [her journalism professor]. 'Perhaps she was affected by writing about that.'"

In other words, she was "inspired" by the murderous thoughts of Palestinian children to go out and murder Jewish children. She specifically chose the pizzeria because it was crowded with families.

High Five for that comment! The ironies are endless and they run very deep within Islam - we could do without it, that's for sure!

Posted by: champ [TypeKey Profile Page] at July 31, 2008 1:18 PM

Since some of us are reminiscing about summer camp: I recall that at the church-run summer camp I went to, near the beach, when I was eleven or twelve, every evening the camp leader read us a chapter from C S Lewis's "The Magician's Nephew".

Islam reminds me of the character of the Empress Jadis, in that book (who becomes the White Witch in 'Lion, Witch and Wardrobe). She wanted World Domination - and obtained it, by use of something called The Deplorable Word. The circumstances? - she was engaged in a civil war, and losing; so she pronounced the Deplorable Word which she knew would kill all life on her planet... except herself.

I have no doubt that Mahmoud Ahmadinejad, and any number of other Muslims, including many of those who are teaching and learning the mindset of the suicide assassin at these Hamas Summer Camps, would do exactly the same as Lewis's fictional Empress Jadis; would do the same, even if pronouncing such a Deplorable Word meant their own deaths as well as the death of the whole world.

It would be a public service if some suitable radio or satellite TV station beaming into North Africa and the Levant were to broadcast, over and over, dramatised readings of good quality Arabic translations of C S Lewis's Narnia books; and, recalling Ayaan Hirsi Ali's liberating experiences in the school library in Kenya, any number of the West's other classic children's stories.

Little girls with rocket launchers? So what's to become of the well-worn, sympathy-elicting image of "impoverished" Palestinian youths having nothing but rocks to throw at their better-armed enemies?

From rocks to rockets....you've come a long way, kiddos.

In case no one else noticed this let me as an Israeli point out the obvious. Notice the writing on that weapon. There's Arabic there BUT THERE'S ALSO HEBREW. Only things made here in Israel for for here in Israel generally have Arabic and Hebrew writing both on them.

Our gov't at the insistence of the US and others and as part of its own pure folly insists on giving the "Palestinians" weapons. THIS IS WHAT HAPPENS TO THOSE WEAPONS, PEOPLE!!

Posted by: MosheC [TypeKey Profile Page] at July 31, 2008 8:33 PM

Moshe,

I think your observation about the rocket was answered here:

The writing on the side of the rocket says (in Arabic) "el quds" which means "the holy" and refers to Jerusalem. The same is written in Hebrew but MISSPELLED! Dumb asses can't even spell Kadosh (holy)in Hebrew! It's the same letters but these turds can't figure it out so the Hebrew reads "qurds."

QaDoSH (Hebrew) -- QuDS

d=daled
s=shin

What's with these Muhammadans?
Posted by: Ynkedoodl [TypeKey Profile Page] at July 31, 2008 8:55 AM

I don't speak Hebrew, but if you could expand on the above explanation, that would be appreciated.

Posted by: boneshack [TypeKey Profile Page] at July 31, 2008 9:36 PM

boneshack:

Basically, instead of using a shin for the last letter they used a samekh. Insteads of using a vav as the second letetr they used a resh. Basically, a vav with the top overly elongated becomes a different letter, a resh. If they were mimicking what the word lookslike in writing though, why a samekh for the last letter which looks very different than a shin? Yet if they were spelling phentically, why the resh?

I don't think they WERE writing that. First of all, look at the Arabic. My Arabic is rusty [Robert Spencer might help correct me here] but that doesn't look to me like "al-quds" but just "quds". Maybe there's an alif at the beginning I'm just not seeing, but it looks to me like a QuDS [the twiddle above the Arabic is the u]. I think that because one can elongate tge Arabic letters so freely [since they forbid hyphenation] they assumed the same was true of Hebrew and wrote in transliteration into Hebrew letters what they thought was QuDS.

The fact they felt the need or desire to mimick Hebrew writing on "weapons" for kids to play with showsthat they are being armed by US the Israelis. This is at the behest of such enlightened morons as the US/EU/UN but with the overly willing cooperation of our openly suicidal gov't.
