Al-Qaeda MIT scientist in custody in Afghanistan!

aafia_hijab.jpg

Think for a minute about the fact that someone linked to Khalid Sheikh Muhammad and other high-level jihadists was an MIT-trained neuroscientist. What is being done now to make sure that this sort of thing will not happen again? What can be done? Plenty -- but no one of influence is even discussing the issue.

"Pakistani scientist alive, in custody: FBI linked her to Al Qaeda in Hub," by Farah Stockman for the Boston Globe, August 3 (thanks to Miss Kelly):

WASHINGTON - Five years after her disappearance, an MIT-trained Pakistani neuroscientist accused of belonging to an Al Qaeda cell based in Boston, is alive and in custody in Afghanistan, her family's attorney said yesterday.

"It has been confirmed by the FBI that Aafia Siddiqui is alive," said Elaine Whitfield Sharp, a lawyer for Siddiqui's family, who said she spoke to an FBI official on Thursday. "She is injured but alive, and she is in Afghanistan."

The news sheds some light on one of the most intriguing local mysteries in the war on terrorism.

Siddiqui, who lived in Roxbury and studied at Brandeis University as well as the Massachusetts Institute of Technology, disappeared with her three children while visiting her parents' home in Karachi, Pakistan, in March 2003, around the same time the FBI announced that it wanted to question her.

For five years, US and Pakistani authorities have denied knowing her whereabouts. But human rights groups and Siddiqui's relatives have long suspected that she had been captured in Karachi and secretly taken into custody.

If Siddiqui was arrested in Pakistan and turned over to the United States, it would highlight a crucial instance of intelligence cooperation between the two countries during a historic low point in their relations....

Oh, good. Everything is all right now, in that case.

Military documents declassified in recent years suggest that Siddiqui is suspected of having ties to several key terrorism suspects being held at the Guantanamo Bay detention center.

She is believed to have links to Khalid Sheikh Mohammed, alleged mastermind of the Sept. 11, 2001, terrorist attacks, and allegedly arranged travel documents for another suspected terrorist. Papers in Guantanamo Bay also indicate that she married Ali Abd al-Aziz Ali, an alleged Al Qaeda facilitator who intended to blow up gas stations or poison water reservoirs in the United States....

Great that criminal is in custody now, hope the Afghan authorities will soon hand her over to the Americans. But this affair sheds some light on the Pakistanis, they obviously cooperate with terrorists. But that's nothing knew. Only what can be done about the ISI?

To admin: I have no website of my own, hence no URL, all I can give you is my e-mail address, hope that's ok.

If you ask me, Islam and it's minions are the Great Satan.

I wonder how many others like her have been given slots at US and western universities to the detriment of citizens who might have done some good with the knowledge they would have obtained had it not been for the not-so-wonderful multiculturalism in academe.

If grades 1-12 are in Islamic schools, the MIT, Harvard, etc. are just post graduate work on how to learn about our ways and to kill us.

Hard to believe that a terrorist suspect resides behind that sweet, gentle face - actually - it's becoming NOT so hard to believe.

"Siddiqui, who lived in Roxbury and studied at Brandeis University as well as the Massachusetts Institute of Technology..."

Isn't Brandeis a predominantly Jewish university? Infidels are so welcoming--and so good at doing things like establishing great institutions of learning.

For decades now the Western civilization has been digging its own grave, educating Muslims in its colleges and universities, mass-producing Azahari bin Husins, Yazid Sufaats, Abdul-Kadir Khans and Khalid Sheikh Muhammads.

only a muslim braindead mind can get educated and support a system that is a facist cult which discriminates against their own gender! someone should remind her about those sowdi girls killed in fire which consumed their school, the muslim clerics would rather have them dead than come out of their school without the black burqa.

A mind is a terrible thing to waste.

BUT SHE DID IT!!!!

Posted by: PMK [TypeKey Profile Page] at August 4, 2008 5:57 PM

She has gained an education in the West that she could never have hoped to get in her own dysfunctional country. And she hoped to use this Western-given education as a lethal weapon against Western Civilization itself. And only in the self-loathing West could human rights groups and lawyers openly go out and defend her, despite the fact that the deadly products of her knowledge, if applied, would give these same leftists no rights whatsoever. A self-confident West that hadn't been poisoned by 35 or 40 years of political correctness and was determined to survive at all costs would send her to the electric chair pronto if it gets its hands on her.

Posted by: champ [TypeKey Profile Page] at August 4, 2008 7:24 PM

Just one more nail in the coffin of that theory proffered by many that desperate social and economic conditions is what drives Muslims to do evil things. Nope. Islam is what drives Muslims to do evil things.

After all, there are millions of impoverished Christians, Hindus, Buddhists, etc. who don't turn to terrorism. With almost no exceptions, the only religious who revert to terroristic activities are Muslims, irrespective of education and status. It's the religion, stupid.

And I bet we taxpayers helped pay for her education. Suckered again!
A neuroscientist? Has she studied the relationship between Islam and the lack of brains? This is one case of the phenomenon.

Posted by: jewdog [TypeKey Profile Page] at August 4, 2008 8:39 PM

She could have done her thesis on a study of the effect on the brain -- using MRI scans, etc. -- of all that head-banging during prayers. The specific question would be whether there is any correlation between the size of the bump-mark on the forehead and the degree of brain damage.
Question: do Moslem women beat their heads against the floor like the men? I can't recall seeing any bump-marks in photos of women. Of course many of them wear full face coverings. Maybe that's why.

Just look at the hate filled comments against a defence less woman. Arnt you the first to highlight the 'injustices' towards women in Muslim countries ?

What about the in justice that is being dished out to this woman ?!

Just because she is not whore like the ones you have in west does not mean she is lesser woman.

If US wants to play by rules then at least give this poor woman a fair trail ( how fair that trail can be reamins questionable though given the circumstances ) instead of locking her away in the most horendous conditions and denying her children their mother and not even letting them know her fate.

You lot are the most spineless , gutter worms I have ever come across and I wont even hesitate in saying it to your faces

Actually no one called her a whore here. Also, I am quite sure that you can neither prove nor disprove her status as a whore, solely based on the fact that she is a professed dutiful Muslimah.

She is, however, a person of suspicion, hence her obvious flight from the US after her education.

So, "PakRocks, are you here to validate the Pakistan tourism commercials I saw on TV this weekend or is there another message you wish to convey?

Posted by: awake [TypeKey Profile Page] at August 4, 2008 9:28 PM

PakRocks-in-the-head, she is an enemy combatant and does not deserve a trial, posing as she does as a civilian and helping the world's most ruthless terrorists. And please, do not insult whores, those pathetic females of dubious, but not depraved moral character. Can't you see that Islam is a murder cult which approves of killing and subjugating innocent Infidels? It has ruined many countries, including Pakistan.
You know, I think she looks a little like Sally Fields, the Flying Numbskull..

PatRocks: You are typical of those who occasionally post here at JW trying to defend the indefensible, i.e., Muslim radicals. You reveal more about yourself than you realize.

Interesting how much of the radical Muslim world is bluff and nothing else. Like you. Oh, the comment you made about Western women being whores is also an indication of your massive ignorance-------and undying hatred for the West. Oh yeah, almost forgot, your subliminal misogyny too.

While we're at it, and speaking about sexual misdirection, are you proud of the fact that Mohammed, while in middle age, had intercourse with a nine-year old? And what of that convenient revelation from Allah telling Mo he could have Zaynab, his daughter-in-law? See why Westerners like myself think that Muslims are followers of an evil cult? Have a nice millennium.

Posted by: Wellington [TypeKey Profile Page] at August 4, 2008 10:01 PM

PakRocks is too blind to see that Islam is a religious whore! Islam is the whore of ALL whores, as it robs both men and women of their heart & soul, and it robs mankind of a promising future.

hey jewdog ( what a name you have chosen for your self )

If she is 'enemy combatant' as you put it then show the proof in court of law, just because she left the US is no proof.

Did it occur to you that after she completed her education maybe no body gave her a job ( could be because she wore a hijab) , you know she is not Hirsi Ali after all who bad mouths her religion so she is not entilted 'womans rights' she is to be labeled 'enemy combatant' and looked upon with suspecion for even leaving the US.

With these type of statment you are just showing that you are free to make you own rules and break them too! wow

First talk of Woman rights , human rights then break the rules as you feel fit to label people 'enemy combatants'

There are so many examples of Muslims being allowed to study science in the West -- physics, chemistry, biology, nuclear engineering, computer engineering, that they then put to use against that same West.

There are the woman, such as the two who, under the "secular" Ba'athists (really, a disguised Sunni despotism) of Saddam Hussein's regime, were allowed to be sufficiently emancipated to go off to study biology and chemistry in Great Britain, and who returned to participate in weapons-of-mass-destruction projects; they were affectionately known in the West as "Dr. Germs" and "Dr. Anthrax."

There are the men. And on the list of the Muslim men who have studied or stolen material in the West, no name stands higher than that of the Pakistani A. Q. Khan. "Dr." A. Q. Khan was not scientifically gifted; he would never have made it to Los Alamos; he was, however, very good at insinuating himself into a Western, Dutch laboratory and winning the confidence of those there so that they did not monitor him. And he repaid their confidence by stealing and xeroxing material essential for the development of the Pakistan nuclear project, by appropriating, stealing and xeroxing, material from the Dutch lab that neither he nor any other Pakistani scientists could have arrived at on their own, to create what bedame known as the "Islamic bomb."

In a posting at this site I put this:

"Another individual who has worshipped at the Islamic Center of Raleigh is Magdy Mahmoud Mustafa el-Nashar, a suspect in the July 2005 London subway bombings. He was a chemical engineering graduate student at the University of North Carolina in the spring of 2000. (He returned to London after a semester.) Triacetone triperoxide (TATP), the chemical found in Richard Reid’s shoes, was found in his Leeds apartment in England.

After the London bombings, el-Nashar was arrested in Cairo. He was released last August for what Egyptian officials called “lack of evidence.” Sarsour confirmed el-Nashar’s attendance at the Islamic Center of Raleigh in 2000, but claimed that he had no close interactions with him, saying el-Nashar didn’t stand out and spoke mainly to other Egyptians."

Nor of this. What are these people doing in the Western world? Why are they allowed to acquire the kind of knowledge that A. Q. Khan received in Germany and Holland, or that Dr. Anthrax, and Dr. Germs, those females enjoying the right to education that the "secular" Ba'athist regime permitted, by studying how to better kill Infidels, and learning their subject from the Infidels themselves, for both studied in Great Britain.

Stop this. Stop it any way it can be stopped."

[Posted by Hugh on April 14, 2006]

How should this be stopped? By simply denying Muslims, either those from abroad, or those who happen to have been allowed to enter, and settle deep within, the Bilad al-kufr, the Lands of the Infidels, the great privilege of studying science, or at least those subjects – biology, chemistry, physics, nuclear engineering, computer engineering – that we already know, already have examples of, Muslims learning about, or stealing material about, in the West, and putting to a use that threatens those same Infidels.

In June the American magazine Science announced that the government of the Netherlands had sensibly decided to prevent Iranians from studying nuclear engineering in the Netherlands. A few Muslims, who have been allowed to live and work in the Netherlands, protested and are continuing with their protests. They should be ignored, or sloughed off, but also, they too should now be strictly monitored for they show themselves to be dangerous to the wellbeing of the Western, Infidel world.

Here is Science (Jul 11, 2008):

"Iranian-born scientists and students are upset by new Dutch regulations, announced last week, that ban them from nine fields of study and five research facilities where they might have access to nuclear technology. The Dutch government says the rules are an implementation of U.N. Security Council resolution 1737, which seeks to limit Iran's access to nuclear technology (Science, 1 February, p. 556).

But the new rules are the strictest of any country and are unfairly singling out one group, critics say. "This stigmatizes the next generation of Iranian scientists," says Nasser Kalantar of the Nuclear Physics Accelerator Institute in Groningen, the Netherlands, who says he plans to investigate whether the measure is constitutional. Peyman Jafari of the International Institute of Social History in Amsterdam hopes the Dutch parliament will intervene. The Netherlands is particularly sensitive to the issue because Abdul Qadeer Khan, the so-called father of Pakistan's nuclear program, passed on highly classified material to Pakistan while working at a Dutch uranium-enrichment plant in the 1970s.”

Of course, it is important not only to ban Iranian scientists, but all Muslims from wherever they come, from acquiring knowledge that they can put to harmful use in the service of either a particular Muslim nation-state, or on behalf of a terrorist group, or simply by those acting alone, for the sake of the Umma. We can’t risk it.

And it is not only the duty of the Netherlands to impose this ban, but a responsibility shared by all the Infidel nations. How long it will take them to figure out why such a ban makes sense, and is perfectly justified by all the promptings of justifiable self-defense, is a fascinating question.

Posted by: Hugh [TypeKey Profile Page] at August 4, 2008 11:25 PM

Informative post as usual, Hugh. And it's quite interesting that a traditionally tolerant country, in this case Holland, actually one of the most tolerant over the past several centuries anywhere on earth, would ban Iranians from studying nuclear engineering. Makes me think the West might turn the corner after all. But the fundamental problem remains and that is the refusal of the West collectively, and not in piecemeal fashion, to comprehend and publicly acknowledge that Islam itself is inimical to the best of what the West stands for. Until that day, the West is more vulnerable than it needs to be.

The details of her arrest (shooting at US officers !)

WASHINGTON: A Pakistani scientist Dr. Afia Siddiqui accused of shooting at U.S. officers while in Afghan custody last month has been extradited to the United States.

According to US media reports, onn July 18 Siddiqui shot at two FBI special agents, a U.S. Army warrant officer, an Army captain and military interpreters who unknowingly entered a room where she was being held unsecured at an Afghan facility.

The warrant officer returned fire with a pistol, shooting Siddiqui at least once. She struggled with the officers before she lost consciousness, and was then given medical attention.

US officials said that Afia Siddiqui was arrested outside the Ghazni governor's compound where they found bomb-making instructions, excerpts from the "Anarchist's Arsenal," papers with descriptions of U.S. landmarks and substances sealed in bottles and glass jars.

First my compliments to Jewdog for this gem:

"...A neuroscientist? Has she studied the relationship between Islam and the lack of brains? This is one case of the phenomenon...."

Next, Brandeis University, her alma mater. This was one of the prime post WWII destinations for the faculty of the Frankfurt School of Social Research, one of the main sources of Communist infiltration into American Academe besides Columbia. She undoubtedly had her Islamic hate for Western Civilization reinforced by the Communist commitment to the same objective: Destroy the West and replace it with each ism's idea of utopia. For more on Brandeis and the Frankfurt School, See "Cry Havoc: the Great American Bring-down and how it happened", by Ralph de Toledano.

And re Hugh's post on stopping Muslim students coming here to study science to use against us, Newsmax.com has an article (8/3/08) by Ken Timmerman on Emerson's testimony last week before Congress, "Karen Hughes gave money to Bad Guys". Hughes was doling out grants to Islamists like it was "Christmas" for Muzzies. And her successor Goli Ameri is continuing the same policy. This article mentions the work of Rep. Brad Sherman's House committee in ferreting out the Islamist influence at State. He should get faxes of support from members of this group (faxes because emails are rejected by house member email setups if you are not in the member's district zip codes). The
Timmerman article notes that the Muslim Public Affairs Council (MPAC), actually picketed Sherman's residence in California. He is under pressure from these creeps, and deserves encouragement. Senators Tom Coburn and Jon Kyl are also nibbling at Rice for allowing (encouraging?) this.

"re Hugh's post on stopping Muslim students coming here to study science to use against us..."
-- from a poster above

That's not exactly what I suggested. I did not limit my comments to the United States, nor to Muslim students "coming here to study." The problem is one that requires collaboration between Infidel states, and an awareness that those motivated by the ideology of Islam (who give signs of taking their Islam seriously) may, now or at some time in the future, turn what knowledge they acquire in the Infidel lands against those Infidels. And limits on what they study, therefore, ideally should extend to members of the Umma who live in the Infidel lands already. Unfortunate, perhaps, difficult to execute, certainly, but at least at the upper (doctoral) reaches, not impossible.

A. Q. Khan came from Pakistan. The next potential A. Q. Khan might be born in Bradford or Leeds.

It is becoming clear to me that Islam has several addictive features which keeps their "flock" together. I now believe that the brotherhood aspect coupled with the Islamic faith in Allah, along with Mohammad, the memorizing of the Koran, the social "order", praying, and bonding aspects of growing up with like minded "friends", "brothers". and "sisters", all combine to produce the harmful addiction to Islam. This adiction is not unlike the worse addictions that we have to deal with in our society.

Islam is not a rational belief system as is Christianity. Christians believe in a rational God, unlike Muslims. We cannot rationalize their beliefs and they cannot rationalize ours.

Posted by: Spot on [TypeKey Profile Page] at August 5, 2008 7:27 AM

The trouble of scientific minds at times is that they think everything is logical. They completely miss out on the simple fact that you always start from some presuppositions.

Kant showed that you can prove the existence of God as well as the non-existence of God, depending on your presuppositions.

The driver behind many muslim mysteries is the self-journey...preparation and reward for the afterlife.

What was the best that Aafia could do for herself?... not in this life where she has had to bow her head to learn science from kuffar...who sometimes sat opposite her in the canteen at MIT eating halal roast gammon...she would have felt sick to the stomach with the smell, of that hideous pink meat crunching in Kuffar mouths, whilst talking about the explosive properties of sodium.

She wowed to fix this for her afterlife.

The best she can do is to be by her Lord's side Allah in her next life, but she needs to work hard and serve to deserve her place.

So she did her grovelling at MIT, bowing to the superior knowledge of the professors there...and when she felt she was their equal....went on a journey of self discovery...and to find those who could take her spirituality to the next plane.

There in Agfhanistan/Pakistan, she discovered, she was pure and valued, nobody looked at her burka strangely...nor did she have to compete with female 1.6meter blonde kuffaria for attention....no...she belonged....they too talked of the greatness and mercy of Allah (Suhanahu Wa Ta'ala) and the use of appropriate explitives for the kuffar.

Because I love America, I wish I could listen in on the interviews during her capture, so that I could inform you on this forum.

And of what need does Al-Qaeda have for a neuroscientist? Working on exotic neuro weapons? They already have one of those. They call it Islam.
Islam is one of the most potent exotic/neurotic weapons ever devised. It has created neurosis in billions, and seeks billions more. The result is wide spread brain damage, even mind death.

Pakrocks above is an example. He sees all the trees, but fails to grasp the concept of 'forest'.
His brain is not dead, just damaged. And it will stay damaged and finally die unless he takes the
'cure' from the deadly neurotic effects of Islam. Apostasy.

Aaifa should have studied that. I'm sure she has studied the Quran etc, but not from the view that it causes a form of mental illness in believers that often becomes violent.

She should have studied Pakrocks. She should have studied herself.

Had she done that, she would not be a shot up terrorist, nor playing 'Bonnie and Clyde' without Clyde. 'Introspection' is not one of a submitters strong points...Allah has seen to it...

"So she did her grovelling at MIT, bowing to the superior knowledge of the professors there...and when she felt she was their equal....went on a journey of self discovery...and to find those who could take her spirituality to the next plane."

Why do these Muslim journeys of self discovery inevitably lead to a point where people are being beheaded or blown up (unless those searching for their inner selves are stopped by the police before they can do much harm)?

When will Americans take back America for Americans?

Allowing Muslims to come here is a mistake. Their belief system is not compatible with American Core values, they are using our legal system to force Muslim religious practices, foot washing, face coverings, and learning from our universities what they are using to help destroy the west.

Enough is enough. It's time for border resrictions on all muslims, and if it means profiling all people from the middle east, so be it.

The days of needing immigrants is OVER. We have plenty of citizens, and are already being overrun by muslims in many neighborhoods throughout the USA.

Also, require English, make it the national language, and no more driver license tests, voter ballots, etc., in foreign languages. If a person here can't understand English, how can they understand the core culture, or debate others in the USA. No more foreign languages.

English is the only language allowed in international air traffic control, it is the language of most scientific publications, and unlike Obama, we don't need to speak French, Spanish, or Arabic.

"If grades 1-12 are in Islamic schools, the MIT, Harvard, etc. are just post graduate work on how to learn about our ways and to kill us."

Well, what about Obama?

Good point. I hadn't thought of that.

hey jewdog (what a name you have chosen for your self)

And what a religion you have chosen for yourself, PattiRocks for Brains. You can't be serious. Your really a comedian, right? Your just trying to liven things up here, right?

I can't believe that even a Muslim would say such a fowl thing to anyone. If you are a Muslim, then you should understand that everything here is driven by the truth and the search thereof. Jewdog is one of many here who's contributions are greatly valued.

PakRocks must be collecting more stones for his next verbal meteor shower, which is all he's good for. As the old saying goes: "sticks and stones may break my bones, but words will never hurt me", certainly works for me. Oh well, meteor showers are no match for this bunch, as we will crush them into powdered Fairy Dust. Poof!

Dr. T,

Too bad we can't make knowledge of English a precondition for anyone who wants to come here on other than a tourist visa. Even comprehensive immigration reform has a requirement that people learn English, but it's only after they've been admitted. And who pays for the classes? We do!

Unfortunately, English will never become our official language. It's not multicultural.

Obama spent grades 5-12 at prep school in Hawaii.

Grades 1-4 were in Indonesia.

So I guess we might say that Obama is "half baked". Muslim, that is.

I'd say the presence of punkrocks aka paksucks as another posrter aptly named "him" proves that his country deserved to be renamed as Najistan.

Then his name would be Najisrocks. And we all know what moslems use rocks for when they're not busy throwing them.

Pak punk u r a NAJISROCK.

NEFA has the pdf of the complaint, which I snagged a copy of. You can pick up a copy there. Her purse contained attack plans, sealed bottles, descriptions of various locations in the US, including NYO. In case no one mentioned it here already, they also found a 1gb thumb drive in her purse which I'm betting is being looked at real close about now....

Thank God she was caught. And yet I listen daily to people who think we are over there under false pretenses. That is almost as frightening as realizing what Siddiqui may have intended to do.

Hugh: I actually caught a factual error in your post above! I doubt this will ever happen again in my lifetime. The Hindenburg exploded over Lakehurst, New Jersey...not Lakewood. My OCD compels me to make this trivial point. I'll go take my SSRI medication now. It'll help.
