Deja vu? "Jihad: Gaza ceasefire fragile and it will end at any time," from China View, August 14:
GAZA, Aug. 14 (Xinhua) -- Islamic Jihad movement's armed wing on Thursday said the ceasefire with Israel in Gaza Strip was "fragile and was expected to end at any time.""We are using the lull to prepare fighters for the coming phase of confrontation," a spokesman for al-Quds Brigades, the Islamic Jihad's armed wing, said.
In one short, honest sentence, a simple jihadi declares what all cease-fires and truces are in essence: time for the weakened jihadis to regroup and prepare "for the coming phase of confrontation" (which, of course, short of world domination, is perpetual, e.g., 'Umdat al-Salik, 9.16).

And if the Jihad continues forever, and there is no likelihood, with the Money Weapon, and modern technology to keep spreading the ideology of Islam and to whip up Muslims everywhere, that there will ever again be a period of quiet (as was the case when Muslims were very weak, and the West very strong), then those who keep telling us, with miens of deep sobriety and somberness, that we must steel ourselves, for this will be a "long war" (Vice-President Cheney) or a "war that will last several generations (Secretary of Defense Gates) or a "war [in Afgnanistan] that, we should be prepared to realize, will last thirty years" (the Commmander-in-Chief of the British army), are misleading us, and themselves, even as they think they are being grown-up and grimly realistic.
They are not being grimly realistic enough.

It's all in their Book. Amazing that people in the West will not take the time to read and believe the "standing orders" that propel Jihad. Then again, we are not even supposed to name the enemy.

Since this post went up I've been trying unsuccessfully to find the Umdat al-Salik online. I did find this interesting compendium of primary Islamic source links. It's ten years old, but appears to have some links I haven't seen before. I guess I should spring for a used copy of the Umdat; and then send bound photocopies to the White House, FBI, CIA, and DoD.

I don't see anything strange or unusual in preparing for war while at truce. Truce is not peace, and the smart military knows that a truce means everyone is armed to the teeth waiting for someone to slip up.
Mohammad may have taken advantage of the idea, but I doubt he invented it.
If Israel is not using truce time to prepare itself for conflict, it is in violation of its duty...

Of course Hugh (above) is right on target.
Historically, for the last hundred years, the non-Muslim world has been technologically and logistically advantaged.
All it takes is a "second" in history for the wretched Islamic religion to have the upper hand, and all is lost.
Think Morocco to India, 600s and 700s AD.
The "west" is prepping itself for suicide:
* excessive immigration intrusions
* sociological weaknesses (welfare, public education, crime, etc)
* abortion
* limiting it's own populations to "save the world" (not an altogether bad thing) while those with no such inclinations (Muslims, Hispanics, blacks) while intruding on the grounds of "Euros" (immigration, both legal and illegal) reproduce big time, with the help of affirmative action, welfare, government loans/grants tailored for immigrants.

Much of your comment is on-target, but the last starred point is not. By placing "Muslims, Hispanics, blacks", in those parentheses, and opposing that with "Euros", you play into the hands of the likes of CAIR, with their disingenuous claims of "Racism!"
The anti-jihad is not about race. It is about ideology. Islam is a supremacist hate-filled ideology which should not be appeased nor accepted by any sane good-willed person.

Hugh's comments are right on target. One need only review the Koran and what Islam teaches. Their goal is to kill or dominate all non Muslims period. They have never deviated from this goal, (except when they are weak) in 1400 years because this is the stated and implemented goal of their founder, Mohammad. The more they learn about their "Religion" and their founder, the more they are directed toward that unchanging goal of domination and killing. The so called moderate Muslims are only temporarily moderate. As they learn more of the true meaning of their "Religion", they will be drawn onto the cold heart of Islam as a bug is drawn into a fire.
