Another miserable woman exploited by jihadis? "Female suicide bomber kills 18 Iraqi pilgrims ," from the China View, August 14:
BAGHDAD, Aug. 14 (Xinhua) -- A female suicide bomber on Thursday killed at least 18 Shiite pilgrims on their way to the holy city of Karbala, an Iraqi police source said.The attack, near the town of Iskandariya, some 60 km south of Baghdad, also wounded 75 people, the source said on condition of anonymity.
Thousands of pilgrims were traveling to the holy city of Karbala, about 110 km south of the capital, to commemorate the birth in the 9th century of the Imam Muhammad al-Mahdi, last of 12most revered Shiites Imams.
The suicide blast was the most critical after three female attackers killed more than 24 and injured over 62 on July 28 during a Shiite pilgrimage gathering in Baghdad.
Violence has dramatically dropped in Iraq, the U.S. military said, hitting a four-year low.
But sporadic suicide or car bombing attacks are still haunting the Iraqis and creating remarkable casualties.
Meanwhile, suicide explosions staged by women have increased as they are less subject to check and suspicion.

Maybe it would take some of the steam out of it if the press would stop reporting "FEMALE" suicide bomber. A suicide bomber is a suicide bomber is a suicide bomber. Equal opportunity suicide bombing abounds. The only purpose I can see to focusing on their gender might be to report the stories behind the bombings as well - bombing under threat to family, self, etc.

Indeed these minor problems need to be ironed out ...and interferes a little with my dawa.
It is a bit much to injure those that are going to pay reverence to those that made Islam the beautiful religion that it is today.
Today is a sad day for many of Allah's SWT chosen as they have prematurely moved to the afterlife (although Allah SWT would have known this).
Come on people...show a bit of remorse... humanity needs to pull together in tragic circumstances.
Only through sympathy can we reach the Al-quiada types to put an end to this and move Islam forward towards global aspirations.

islam is in its death throes with each suicide bombings,the more the West learns from this death cult the more they are repulsed by it. the only real tragedy with this is that people continue to remain muslim and or defend this vile death cult, may it have an early grave such as the aztecs and mayans.

Hmmm...muslim women seem more adept at getting to the the intended target without a workplace accident. I guess it's the attention to detail that women bring to the job. I disagree. Once upon a time suicide (some people like to say homicide) bombings were committed only by male Mohammedans. When only a few years ago female Mohammedans began committing these heinous acts, the world was shocked. This meant that Mohammedan females had to be viewed with suspicion as well.
It's still much more out-of-the-ordinary for a female Mohammedan to blow herself and others up, which is why "female" is reported. It's useful information to know that suicide bombings are being carried out by females because women in large black Hefty bags should be detained and searched prior to getting on a bus, etc.

Come on people, have a little compassion. The poor women/girl may have only been escaping her miserable existance as a sharia legalized sex slave of one of Islam's devout worshippers....maybe they promised her 70 dark eyed virgins in Allah's heaven too (male virgins) and of course, restoration to her original self (before she was forcefully mutilated as a young girl). And, isn't that a lot better than saying, "I divorse you" 3 times and kicking her out in the street to starve? Don't you see? They may be homicidal maniacs but they have a little compassion. I think they deserve as much from us.

So, this story is really about you and your "dawa"? Look, Naseem--If you're going to reinvent yourself, you need to reinvent your style, too.
Your grammar is much better, thank goodness, but you're still beginning your posts with ham-fisted remarks about your mission, and faint, false sympathy for the principals in the story.
Made any converts, yet? Didn't think so.
Really, if dawa is your mission, you should try to work up some passion for it, and make it applicable to the news item. Make an object lesson of it, you know? Something subtle, like Jesus used to do when preaching to the multitudes.

Now that your grammar has improved, you might want to think about buying a thesaurus. A thesaurus is a book that shows you the many choices you have, for synonyms, and antonyms for words.
"Remorse" wouldn't be my first choice, for example. Remorse pertains to the feeling of penitence a guilty person feels for his wrong actions. I didn't blow anybody up. Nor did any of the other posters here. "Remorse" is a poor choice. "Sympathy, empathy, compassion, etc. would be better choices.

This last bit, I fear, is not tailored to your audience. If we were all Muslims, it would work. We're not Muslims. We don't have an interest in supporting Islam's "global aspirations".
If you're serious about dawa, and not just some cyinical troll, talking out of his rectum, you have to know your audience. You have to play to your audience, in your efforts to bring them around to your way of thinking.
Don't waste any effort or talent for dawa, by speaking as if you're speaking to people who already worship the criminally insane Mohammed, and his imaginary god, Allah.
I hope these little tips will be of some use to you, in your quixotic quest.

The sentence above is the exact reason that I think the focus on the gender of the bombers, without including other background information, is not helpful. The terrorists are using the gender of the bombers to gain "sympathy to move Islam ... towards global aspirations." God help us.

I don't think anyone feels any "sympathy" toward female suicide bombers just because they're female.
It's useful to know that females can be suicide bombers so that they can be regarded with as much suspicion as the males. And rightfully so. They should be checked and detained, as much as the males. That way we're not surprised when a female Mohammedan dressed in a black tent explodes herself and others. Common sense.
The first few female suicide bombers had the element of surprise going for them, which is why they succeeded. No more. Know your enemy - and that includes female suicide, homicide, bombers, as well as male.

Darcy -- I agree completely that it's useful for possible victims to be aware that suicide bombers come in more than one type. However I have read certain articles lately where the words "female bomber" were used about 13 times in one short article, without any extra info about possible reasons why it's rising among females (easy to hide under garments/or that they might be pushed into these acts under threat, etc.)
Of course sane people have little or no sympathy for these murdering-suicides, but people like our friend Hind, of which there are millions and millions, are reading the same stories we do, but in a very different light. His propagada-brainwash type statements are being read by others besides ourselves, I'm sure you're aware, as are the short-changed articles on female suicide bombers.
