Islamic scholar: Mickey Mouse must die

images3333.jpg
"Corrupting" and "satanic" infidel must be slain

Except when he's working for Hamas, advocating jihad and Jewish genocide. Another "you-can't-make this stuff-up" moment courtesy of Dar al-Islam.

"Islamic theologian says Mickey Mouse must die," by George Conger, for Religious Intelligence, September 14:

On Aug 27 Sheikh Muhammad Al-Munajid told viewers of a religious affairs programme that mice were agents of Satan and that Sharia law called for the extermination of all mice: from the common house mouse (Mus musculus) to cartoon mouse (Mickey Mouse).

A former diplomat attached to the Islamic Affairs Department at the Saudi embassy Washington, al-Munajid appears regularly on Saudi television to discuss religious and ethical topics.

On Aug 10 he denounced the Beijing Olympics as the “bikini Olympics,” saying the immodest dress of women athletes was “satanic” and earlier issued a fatwa, or religious edict, against women’s participation in the Olympics as the games were also “satanic”.

Regardless, a hijab-clad Muslim women did participate.
Al-Munajid’s aversion to sports is not new. In 2005 he denounced soccer, saying the short pants worn by players “reveal nakedness.” He called for a ban on women’s sports and public exercise as to do so would require them to don “tight fitting, short” tunics that were offensive to Muslim decorum.

According to a translation of the broadcast prepared by the Middle East Media Research Institute, al-Munajid was asked to state the Islamic legal teaching on mice. He responded that mice were called “little corrupters” in Sharia and it was permissible to kill them at all times.

“The mouse is one of Satan's soldiers and is steered by him,” he explained, adding that should a mouse come in contact with food, the food must be disposed of as the mouse is an impure creature.

“According to Islamic law, the mouse is a repulsive, corrupting creature,” al-Munajid said, adding that he was concerned that popular culture had given mice an undeserved positive image.

“How do you think children view mice today – after Tom and Jerry?” he asked.

“Even creatures that are repulsive by nature, by logic, and according to Islamic law have become wonderful and are loved by children. Even mice. Mickey Mouse has become an awesome character, even though according to Islamic law, Mickey Mouse should be killed in all cases.”

LucyintheSkywithCubicZircons,

Your comment made me laugh, then it made me think. For my part, I'm afraid of them because they're irrational, and often vicious in their irrationality.

The paranoid religion of Islam speaks again. The sickness is unbelievable. It is a demented religion. A religion that has nothing to offer. It is a religion that bans creativity and innovation. It is a religion that rules every aspect of lives of its followers. It even to some degree rules the lives of non believers. Complete control is the name of the game. Imams, sheiks and mullahs are just very busy using every aspect of Islam to make sure that all Muslims continue to practice the violence and hatred that is Islam.

Okay, okay, I know that answer already...

Nice, wallyUK! and by the way, Libertarian radio show host Neal Boortz posed an iteresting question: Do Muslim children have piggy banks?
Can anyone answer this one for me??

Lucy,

Plenty about piggy banks here.

I hate those mieces to pieces!

So now we have Mickey Mouse to put on satan's evil list, along with cucumbers, goats with their tails in the air, female olympians, chess, flying kites, photography, music, television, porcine animals, my dog Sparky, men without beards, women who wear make up... the list is endless.

A truly backward and sick ideology.

Oh, no, did i just thank GOD instead of ALLAH????

Walt Disney World began checking bags after 9/11. I would suggest that Mickey Mouse be on (her) guard at the character parade and at the meet and greet around the castle.

Do these dimwits realize how mice are used in medical research?

So these nancy boys' way of life is threatened by a MOUSE?!?!?!?!?!?

And we're scared of them WHY????

Posted by: LucyintheSkywithCubicZircons

Because they are insane enough to take their own propaganda seriously. I began reading the article with a "come on!" attitude. Then I realized they weren't joking. We think they are kidding but they aren't and the "peaceful" Muslims refuse to condemn them.
Disney World is outside Paris. The French Mickey and Minnie shouldn't just laugh this off. Too many people have died thinking these dimwits didn't mean exactly what they said.

Posted by: PMK [TypeKey Profile Page] at September 14, 2008 8:04 PM

This from a people who extol the virtue of drinking camel piss for its medicinal qualities.

Posted by: undaunted [TypeKey Profile Page] at September 14, 2008 8:05 PM

Why isn't it enough for them to say that Mickey and Minnie and Tom and Jerry are haram to Muslims? Tell them to keep their children away from Disney movies and not to go to the parks. I go to WDW every year and have seen many Muslim women clothed head to toe, while the men and their children were in short pants and short sleeves in stifling weather. Clearly none of them saw Mickey Mouse as evil.

Islam also has an incredible inability to separate fantasy and reality. Mice have an undeserved positive image? Tell that to the exterminator and to those who call him. All of them understand CARTOONS! But it seems Muslims are incapable of understanding any kind of metaphor.

This is their idea of peaceful coexistence: anything that is not in keeping with their faith must be exterminated. The Muslims who don't want this to become reality must do something about it RIGHT NOW. They are the only ones who can.

Posted by: PMK [TypeKey Profile Page] at September 14, 2008 8:14 PM

to Saroirse: "At the risk of sounding like a 16-yr-old schoolgirl..."

And what's wrong with that, i'd like to know?/'Cause here I go/Aga-a-a-ain!

Perhaps we can use this to our advantage. An ideology that insists on assassinating an America tradition, a cartoon, is idiotic, dangerous and showing its 7th century roots. Share with all your kafir and dhimmi friends.

Add this to a "you can't make this stuff up" list - or - a "how stupid are these people" list - or - a "let's get rid of them now" list.

Posted by: Civilus Defendus [TypeKey Profile Page] at September 14, 2008 8:29 PM

Amazing how this sheikh presumes to question Almighty Allah's scheme of creation--rodents are such an important part of the terrestrial food chain.

Posted by: John C [TypeKey Profile Page] at September 14, 2008 8:45 PM

I guess I would be just haram - I have guinea pigs that are basically rats without tails.

But, does anyone remember the mouse that the Palestinians had - preaching jihad and hatred of the Jews and the West to children? I guess a mouse is ok when it does that. Well, they ended out killing that mouse off.

I would suspect that pets to muslims is just not fancied. Why? Because there is no joy, no laughter, nothing - in islam. They model themselves after mohammed and mohammed didn't laugh. Ali Sina put out a book about mohammed - 'Understanding muhammad, A Psychobiography'. If you want to know what muslims model themselves after - it is a very, good read. Mr. Sina is an Iranian ex-muslim and posts a lot on faithfreedom.org

Re: Sheikh Muhammad Al-Munajid

Is he mentally-challenged, insane, or both?

Poor little mice. And the irony is that the mice are so much more worthwhile than their hater's, the Mohammedans.

I've never heard of mice mass-murdering people, have you?

Posted by: darcy [TypeKey Profile Page] at September 14, 2008 9:22 PM

The "hijab-clad Muslim woman" wasn't dressed according to Islamic law. She wore a hijab but her clothes revealed the form of her body, unlike those cloaks (I forget what they're called) that women are expected to wear in public.

The imam, when he denounced soccer, said short pants worn by players “reveal nakedness.”

Why doesn't that apply to men? The men go around in shorts and short-sleeves while the women are covered. Nakedness is nakedness.

I suppose Minnie Mouse would be stoned to death.

I've never heard of mice mass-murdering people, have you?

Darcy,
Maybe the Black Death in Europe but even there the rats were infected by fleas and the rats didn't set out to kill anyone.
Given Islam's inflexibility, I don't think they would see any difference between a mouse and a rat. A rodent is a rodent.
Mickey Mouse is okay but I love Ricky Rat.

Check out a sample of Islamic scripture...

Sahi Bukari

Volume 5, Book 58, Number 188:

Narrated 'Amr bin Maimun:

During the pre-lslamic period of ignorance I saw a she-monkey surrounded by a number of monkeys. They were all stoning it, because it had committed illegal sexual intercourse. I too, stoned it along with them.

Posted by: Cornelius [TypeKey Profile Page] at September 14, 2008 9:39 PM

Cornelius,
The narrator is saying he did this in the period of ignorance. So did things change with the knowledge of Islam?

Posted by: PMK [TypeKey Profile Page] at September 14, 2008 9:55 PM

Double haram, here. Today I bought two hairless rats, at PetSupermarket.

They're incredibly friendly, charming little critters. The only drawback is that, short of getting one or both of them tattooed, it's going to be hard to tell them apart.

I like them much more than I like Muslims.

And what about ol' Farfour, as someone else pointed out? He was undeniably a mouse, and the little Muslim girl didn't recognize the...haram... he could do! I find that show disturbing, on so many levels, but, really-- Isn't it creepy how all of the old, dying grandfathers of these animals are humans?

Posted by: Abscedere [TypeKey Profile Page] at September 14, 2008 10:09 PM

Just to throw into relief the sheer gibbering insanity of that Muslim cleric, here is what one Christian poet found it in her heart to write about a mouse.

The Prayer of the Mouse

I am so little and grey,
dear God,
how can you keep me in mind?
Always spied upon,
always chased.
Nobody ever gives me anything,
and I nibble meagerly at life.
Why do they reproach me with being a mouse?
Who made me but You?
I can only ask to stay hidden.
Give me my hunger's pittance
safe from the claws of that devil with green eyes.
Amen.

From 'Prayers from the Ark', by Carmen Bernos de Gasztold, who wrote them in a French convent during the 1940s; translation by Rumer Godden. There is a choral setting by Ivor Davies.

Then, too, we could quote Robbie Burns's famous 'To a Fieldmouse'; or the wry and charming poem by Australian poet Douglas Stewart, "The Mice of Chinkapook", written after he heard that a notebook by one of Australia's sweetest lyric poets of nature, John Shaw Neilson, had been eaten by mice.

Stewart's final stanza:
"Well, mice are small and mice must live
but when you think of all that love
of brightness flashing from the dim
of night and earth and water's brim
that sang for joy in that lost book,
only Shaw Neilson could forgive
the thieving mice of Chinkapook".

(Earlier in the poem, Stewart has speculated comically that the mice, after eating Neilson's poems, should surely have been transformed: 'transfigured mice they would have run/ like jewels in the moon or sun - it may be so, but no-one hears/ of emerald mice with diamond ears'...).

We in the West keep and breed mice as pets! (I have seven such in the house right now, every one of them with a name - Blue, Hercules, Jaws, Velvet, Cinnamon, Pepper and Blackie); we use them in science (poor mice - we owe them so much); and although we set traps and keep cats to keep our houses from being overrun by wild mice, and make sure that they do not get into our food, for hygienic reasons, or our books and papers, lest said papers go the way of Neilson's notebook, we really see no need to get all paranoid and obsess about them as "Satan's soldiers!!".

Oh well: if this 'cleric' is ever captured in a counter-jihad operation, all we need is a few frisky pet mice with wiggly whiskers to drive him right out of his little tiny mind. Obsessive-Compulsive Disorder, anyone?

I guess the narrator monkeyed around.

Posted by: Cornelius [TypeKey Profile Page] at September 14, 2008 11:23 PM

Dogs are bad. Apes and pigs are bad. Mice are bad.
Goats are good, except if you have been monkeying around with it, then goats are also bad, so kill it and sell the meat to the next village. It's bad to eat goat you've been loving.

Posted by: joeblough [TypeKey Profile Page] at September 15, 2008 1:59 AM

Now there's a chuckle, & just shows another example of 7th Century backasswardness. These guys made up the Qur'an & Sura's 200+ years after Mo died. How else do you explain this sillyness?

Even he wasn't smart enough, nor did he deem it necessary, over the 23 years of making it fit his deeds, to put all this garbage to PRINT.

Throw all the verses up in the air & then put them all back together & then call it the Qur'an.

Now you can see why 80% of all Muslims are in Indonesia.

Thanks Robert.

PMK asks: "Do these dimwits realize how mice are used in medical research?" I suspect that that sheikh wouldn't be moved by this reminder. After all, in Islam there is no such thing as natural law, because Allah rules arbitrarily. Scientists assume that nature manifests laws, so that the same procedure will produce the same result. That's why we never hear of valuable scientific discoveries by biologists, or any other kinds of scientists, in sharia-ruled countries. I think that this hilarious document should be publicized as widely as possible, and its implications spelled out. It can also help disabuse those people who regard Islam as not very different from Judaism and Christianity.

Remember the scene in 1984, and the way Winston Smith was finally made to betray Julia?

They placed a kind of rat cage on his face, with a rat on one side of the divider that kept it in check, and threatened to loose it on him.

Maybe that's a toy for our own "Room 101", where answers will be gotten, come hell or high water(board).

Interesting that the intense female phobia of mice (which was much more common back when women wore skirts) according to the Freudians has to do with women being 'open' down there... and is a fear of a mouse running up and 'into her' - a fear of violation i.e. has a sexual component.

I suspect the shaikh, probably wears a flowing open Muslim mu-mu and has a primal fear of being sodomized by mice. A terrifying thought as a genius like this sodomized by a mouse might give birth to a 'Muslim scholar'.

I have a Sparky too! I found him wandering around a Circle K right before Christmas. He had an empty Zaxby's container in his mouth and every time a car pulled in, he ran up to it with his Zaxby's plate like he was soliciting donations! I don't know if he wanted food or money but the store had called the dog pound to come pick him up, an automatic death sentence, so I loaded him up and brought him home.
He's a strange-looking little creature, part terrier and part indeterminable, with yellow fur and a black beard. He's cute though, and very feisty.

As for Mickey Mouse, he's not theirs to kill. They can kill him symbolically all they want, but Mickey and Minnie will never die! What a bunch of superstitious, ignorant troglodytes! No wonder these people remain mired in ignorance, poverty, and fanaticism; they ignore their real problems and fulminate against innocuous cartoon characters!

When these dudes can't stretch their minds to find something new to fatwa against each week, they have to go back and invent new outrage over old subjects; then they can fatwa their shriveled hearts out over that.

Abscedere - yes I remember that episode. Of course, wild rats and other animals can be used to genuinely hurt someone, even kill them, so 'winston smith's' terror was well-founded. Orwell may have heard of techniques like that - or worse - being used by Stalinists or by Nazis.

However: for an idiot like this sheikh, surely even a cute pet mouse that would never *dream* of biting anyone, would be enough to make him come unglued. Preferably black ones, since he's so convinced they're all messengers of Satan.

Does he think the demons sit there with remote control levers, manipulating the mice in his kitchen cupboards and under his bed?

Paranoia plus!

Funnily, though, I don't see him leaping on a chair.

Rather, I see a vision of a comic slapstick animated cartoon sequence: title, The Mad Sheikh Declares War on Satan's Messengers. Sort of like Wile E Coyote chasing the Roadrunner, only ten times more ridiculous, and set in your typical Islamosphere village.

Never mind about the English gentleman in pursuit of the fox, the spectacle of a portly Mohammedan sheikh/ Rage Boy in sandals and robe and beard turning his house and his village upside down in frenzied pursuit of those diabolical MICE (with broom? shotgun? kalashnikov? hand grenades? blam! Boom! wham!} adds a whole new dimension to Wilde's quip about 'the unspeakable in pursuit of the inedible'.

The mice, of course, would escape. Camels, goats, sheep, and chickens, accidentally released in the course of the chase, would be seen scattering to the four winds. After completely demolishing his village the sheikh would finish up upside down in the midden.

Two more mouse poems from the vast treasure-house of Western Literature.

Mice: by Rose Fyleman.

"I think mice
are rather nice.
Their tails are long
their faces small
they haven't any
chins at all.
Their ears are pink
their teeth are white
they run about
the house at night.
They nibble things
they shouldn't touch
and no-one seems
to like them much.
But *I* think mice
are nice."

And this fragment from the 18th century 'mad poet', Christopher Smart, which I suspect inspired the figure of the chivalric Mouse Reepicheep in C S Lewis's 'Prince Caspian' and 'Voyage of the Dawn Treader':

"For the Mouse is a creature of great personal valour.
For – this is a true case – Cat takes female mouse – male mouse will not depart, but stands threat’ning and daring.
…If you will let her go, I will engage you, as prodigious a creature as you are.
For the Mouse is a creature of great personal valour.
For the Mouse is of an hospitable disposition."

We in the West know all about plague, and we know quite well what a nuisance mice can be to farmers and housewives.

I know the mouse is listed as non-kosher (i.e. not to be eaten - who would want to, anyway?) in the Hebrew law; but I am sure even the most strictly Orthodox Jewish housewife wouldn't see them as 'Satan's soldiers'!!!

If my literary sampler is anything to go by, not to mention 'Mickey Mouse' and the mouse in 'Tom and Jerry', we non-Muslims in the West, at least, are capable of looking at these little creatures with a sort of amused detachment, even admiration for the way that they survive and thrive despite their being so small and at the bottom of the food chain. Perhaps we can do this because of our thousand-year-plus education in the virtue of humility. Both our theology and our science enable us, at our best, to see the creatures steadily and whole.

(I understand that mice were kept as pets in ancient China, so an understanding of mice that extends beyond seeing them as nuisance or as Enemy, is not just a western 'thing').

Only two months ago the local Arab Muslims in Jerusalem were complaining about Zionist rats supposedly infiltrating their houses.

To paraphrase Goscinny and Uderzo: 'these Muslims are CRAAAZY!'

Thanks for the laugh, Dumble; for the visual of the shiek turning his house upside down for a sanatic mouse.

By the way, I was relating this article to a co-worker today and she waited - for the punchline. I had to tell her "it's not a joke." Then she was angry.

Memo to sheik dudes: The Mouse is dead. Never was real. Just some ink on cellophane. You know, make believe. You should have plenty of experience in that, even more than Fred Rogers(PBUH) and Walt Disney(PBUH) combined, since you have subscribed to a make believe "religion." Later dudes.

You know, if the world is ever lucky and islam fades away like a bad nightmare, what are we going to do for our comedy? I mean I hope to see that dilemma in my lifetime, but really, what happens when we lose such great source material? Well, I guess we all make sacrifices to achieve true peace.

What if it was their code word for activating their sleeper cells for the next 9/11?
