At the reliably truth-free publication known as The American Muslim today, Sheila Musaji has published an article, "What exactly is required to be considered a 'moderate' Muslim?" In it, she takes me to task for this statement: "And I wonder why Sheila Musaji has never written an article about the physical and emotional distress that peaceful Muslims suffer when their coreligionists commit violence in the name of their religion, and why she has never called upon those Muslims to stop committing acts of violence and supremacism in Islam's name."
Musaji responds by offering a blizzard of links purporting to demonstrate that she and many other Muslims have done just that, and that I am willfully ignoring them in order to demonize Muslims. And not only that, but there's the inevitable tu quoque: "I don’t see any articles by Robert Spencer condemning violence and terrorism carried out by Christians."
Actually, Sheila Musaji apparently missed my book Religion of Peace?, in which I do just that, but the issue here isn't really acts of violence committed by Muslims as opposed to acts of violence committed by Christians. Human nature is everywhere the same, and you can find people of every creed and philosophy committing acts of violence and brutality. But in Islam violence and supremacism are taught by authoritative sources, whereas in Christianity and other traditions they are not. So what is needed is not a simple tally of Bad Things Done By Religious People, followed by condemnations in number matching the tally. What is needed is a recognition by people like Sheila Musaji and other Muslims in America that there are these supremacist and often violent doctrines in Islam, and a genuine rejection of them and attempt to reform them. None of that, however, is forthcoming -- and at that point that is itself no surprise.
And that is the problem with her exhaustive (and exhausting) list of Muslim groups condemning "terrorism," and with her own articles doing just that. Take, for example, this:
As the Editor of The American Muslim (TAM), I issued a statement on 9/11 in which I said: ”We are Americans and Muslims and proud to be both. We are as shocked and horrified by this insane act of terrorists as any other Americans. Our hearts go out to the victims and their families. We also want those responsible to be caught and brought to justice. They may happen to consider themselves Muslims (as Timothy McVey [sic] and Slobodon Milosovic may have considered themselves to be Christians) and may even have twisted the teachings of their religion to justify their actions, but terrorism is not the act of any person who understands anything about the teachings of any of the world’s religions. There is no religious justification for such actions.”
Note her tu-quoque assertions about McVeigh and Milosevic, and her assertion that they may have "twisted the teachings" of Christianity -- presumably to justify the bombing of office buildings and genocide. But in fact, neither McVeigh nor Milosevic ever offered any justification for their actions that was based on the teachings of Christianity, twisted or untwisted. Neither pointed, or could have pointed, to teachings of Christianity that justify violence against unbelievers to justify their actions, because there are no such teachings of Christianity. This is in sharp contrast to Osama bin Laden and Islamic jihadists the world over, who regularly and copiously quote the Qur'an and Sunnah, as well as the teachings of authoritative Islamic jurists, to justify their actions. Compare, for instance, the writings of Sheila Musaji and Osama bin Laden, and see who quotes the Qur'an and invokes Muhammad's example more often.
But glaringly and conspicuously absent from Musaji's own writings, as well as from all the Muslim condemnations of terrorism to which she links, is any recognition of, much less condemnation of, the fact that there is not a single traditional school of Islamic jurisprudence that does not teach that it is an obligation of the Muslim community to wage war against unbelievers and subjugate them under the rule of Islamic law.
Here is proof:
Shafi'i school: A Shafi'i manual of Islamic law that was certified in 1991 by the clerics at Al-Azhar University, one of the leading authorities in the Islamic world, as a reliable guide to Sunni orthodoxy, stipulates that “the caliph makes war upon Jews, Christians, and Zoroastrians...until they become Muslim or pay the non-Muslim poll tax.” It adds a comment by Sheikh Nuh ‘Ali Salman, a Jordanian expert on Islamic jurisprudence: the caliph wages this war only “provided that he has first invited [Jews, Christians, and Zoroastrians] to enter Islam in faith and practice, and if they will not, then invited them to enter the social order of Islam by paying the non-Muslim poll tax (jizya)...while remaining in their ancestral religions.” ('Umdat al-Salik, o9.8).
Of course, there is no caliph today, and hence the oft-repeated claim that Osama et al are waging jihad illegitimately, as no state authority has authorized their jihad. But they explain their actions in terms of defensive jihad, which needs no state authority to call it, and becomes "obligatory for everyone" ('Umdat al-Salik, o9.3) if a Muslim land is attacked. The end of the defensive jihad, however, is not peaceful coexistence with non-Muslims as equals: 'Umdat al-Salik specifies that the warfare against non-Muslims must continue until "the final descent of Jesus." After that, "nothing but Islam will be accepted from them, for taking the poll tax is only effective until Jesus' descent" (o9.8).
Hanafi school: A Hanafi manual of Islamic law repeats the same injunctions. It insists that people must be called to embrace Islam before being fought, “because the Prophet so instructed his commanders, directing them to call the infidels to the faith.” It emphasizes that jihad must not be waged for economic gain, but solely for religious reasons: from the call to Islam “the people will hence perceive that they are attacked for the sake of religion, and not for the sake of taking their property, or making slaves of their children, and on this consideration it is possible that they may be induced to agree to the call, in order to save themselves from the troubles of war.”
However, “if the infidels, upon receiving the call, neither consent to it nor agree to pay capitation tax [jizya], it is then incumbent on the Muslims to call upon God for assistance, and to make war upon them, because God is the assistant of those who serve Him, and the destroyer of His enemies, the infidels, and it is necessary to implore His aid upon every occasion; the Prophet, moreover, commands us so to do.” (Al-Hidayah, II.140)
Maliki school: Ibn Khaldun (1332-1406), a pioneering historian and philosopher, was also a Maliki legal theorist. In his renowned Muqaddimah, the first work of historical theory, he notes that “in the Muslim community, the holy war is a religious duty, because of the universalism of the Muslim mission and (the obligation to) convert everybody to Islam either by persuasion or by force.” In Islam, the person in charge of religious affairs is concerned with “power politics,” because Islam is “under obligation to gain power over other nations.”
Hanbali school: The great medieval theorist of what is commonly known today as radical or fundamentalist Islam, Ibn Taymiyya (Taqi al-Din Ahmad Ibn Taymiyya, 1263-1328), was a Hanbali jurist. He directed that “since lawful warfare is essentially jihad and since its aim is that the religion is God’s entirely and God’s word is uppermost, therefore according to all Muslims, those who stand in the way of this aim must be fought.”
Of course, these are all extremely old authorities -- such that one might reasonably assume that whatever they say couldn’t possibly still be the consensus of the Islamic mainstream. The laws of the United States have evolved considerably since the adoption of the Constitution, which itself has been amended. So why shouldn’t this be true of Islamic law as well? Many observers assume that it must be, and that contemporary jihadists' departure from mainstream Islam must be located in its preference for the writings of ancient jurists rather than modern ones. But in this, unfortunately, they fail to reckon with the implications of the closing of the gate of ijtihad.
Ijtihad is the process of arriving at a decision on a point of Islamic law through study of the Qur’an and Sunnah. From the beginning of Islam, the authoritative study of such sources was reserved to a select number of scholars who fulfilled certain qualifications, including a comprehensive knowledge of the Qur’an and Sunnah, as well as knowledge of the principle of analogical reasoning (qiyas) by which legal decisions are made; knowledge of the consensus (ijma) on any given question of Muhammad, his closest companions, and the scholars of the past; and more, including living a blameless life. The founders of the schools of Islamic jurisprudence are among the small number of scholars -- mujtahedin -- thus qualified to perform ijithad. But they all lived very long ago; for many centuries, independent study of the Qur’an and Sunnah has been discouraged among Muslims, who are instead expected to adhere to the rulings of one of those established schools. Since the death of Ahmed ibn Hanbal, from whom the Hanbali school takes its name, in 855 A.D., no one has been recognized by the Sunni Muslim community as a mujtahid of the first class -- that is, someone who is qualified to originate legislation of his own, based on the Qur’an and Sunnah but not upon the findings of earlier mujtahedin.
Islamic scholar Cyril Glasse notes that “‘the door of ijtihad is closed’ as of some nine hundred years, and since then the tendency of jurisprudence (fiqh) has been to produce only commentaries upon commentaries and marginalia.”
So -- will Sheila Musaji care to condemn the supremacist imperative delineated by these authoritative, traditional sources? Specifically, since she is asking me what is required to be considered a moderate Muslim, I can tell her that I believe it would be sufficient to do the following:
1. Acknowledge the existence of and repudiate the traditional Islamic imperative, taught by all the schools of Islamic jurisprudence that Muslims recognize as orthodox, to impose Islamic law upon non-Muslims, whether by force or by stealth.
2. Renounce any intention, now or in the future, to replace the U.S. Constitution with Islamic law.
3. Clarify, and call upon other Muslims in America to clarify, what is meant by the words "terrorism" and innocent" in Muslim condemnations of terrorism, so that it is clear that what is being condemned is the murder of American and other non-combatants by Muslims acting in the name of Islamic jihad.
4. Repudiate the idea that Muslims have a divine mandate to force, when possible, Jews, Christians, and other "People of the Book" to pay a special religion-based tax from which Muslims are exempt (Qur'an 9:29).
5. Call upon Muslims in America to institute comprehensive, honest, and transparent programs in mosques and Islamic schools, teaching the virtues of the non-establishment of religion, and teaching directly against Islamic supremacism and the idea that Muslims must fight against Jews and Christians until they "feel themselves subdued" (Qur'an 9:29).
6. Call upon Muslims in America to institute comprehensive, honest, and transparent programs in mosques and Islamic schools, teaching against honor killing, and against the idea -- which is enshrined in Islamic law -- that a parent faces no penalty for killing his or her own child (see 'Umdat al-Salik o1.1-2).
7. Call upon Muslims worldwide, including in Saudi Arabia, to end all institutionalized discrimination against and harassment of non-Muslims, and to allow churches and other houses of worship to be built in majority-Muslim countries with an ease comparable to that with which mosques are currently built in Western countries.
8. Repudiate the idea that a Muslim who renounces Islam and adopts any other faith or no faith at all should be killed -- as is the teaching of Muhammad and all the schools of Islamic jurisprudence -- and call upon Muslim groups in America to teach the freedom of conscience as a God-given right in American mosques and Islamic schools.
9. Call upon Muslims in America and worldwide to drop the traditional and authoritative Islamic prohibition of marriage between non-Muslim men and Muslim women, and to repudiate and teach against the idea of divinely sanctioned wife-beating (Qur'an 4:34).
10. Condemn Hamas and Hizballah as terrorist organizations, and the Islamic Republic of Iran for its continuing the barbaric practice of stoning people to death. Call upon Muslim groups to teach against stoning as a punishment for adultery or anything else in American mosques and Islamic schools.
Do those things, Ms. Musaji, and I will happily acknowledge that you are indeed a "moderate" Muslim.

I don't think there's a single one of these most minimal requests that Sheila Musaji will be able to fulfill. Not one.

That's what I call a good thrashing.
But we must never forget that we're not dealing with rational people here.
The Sheila Musaji's like the Yusuf Irfan's and Khaleel Ahmeds belong on another planet, where logical reasoning, gravity and free scientific enquiry are not seen as valuable achievements. Question is how do we get them there?
Australia’s Courier Mail: ‘Shoot the Bali bombers, and soon’
What happened to the Courier-Mail? A right-wing takeover? This PC-rag suddenly comes out calling for the Bali-bombers to be shot? My, perhaps things are changing. in a place where moonbats stand united against capital punishment, this is a different wind:

Also, to clarify #8 (...call upon Muslim groups in America to teach the freedom of conscience as a God-given right in American mosques and Islamic schools.), please add: clearly reject the notion that blasphemy is illegal, whether by Muslims or non-Muslims, within the Western world or elsewhere.

Very strong piece. If anyone reading this knows any "moderate" Muslims, please forward it to them and kindly (and I mean kindly) ask them to read it and respond to it point by point (if they can)

Islam calls for war to be made upon the unbeliever until all of the world is one with Islam (and a more disgusting eventuality would be difficult to imagine) while at the same time denying to the non-Muslim portion of the world that this is what it intends. Pure taqiyya. Very Islamic. Totally repulsive. In no way priceless.

Where is this "McVeigh was a Christian" horsecrap coming from? Wasn't he an atheist? What makes him Christian? That he talked to a catholic priest in the days leading up to his execution? You know, years after the bombing?
I talked to David Prowse at a Star Wars convention once, does that mean I contributed to star wars films that happened before I was born?

2. Renounce any intention, now or in the future, to replace the U.S. Constitution with Islamic law.
I'm with Hugh here. There's no way Musaji can accommodate any of those reasonable requests and remain a Muslim.
The willful choice of US secular law based on the US Constitution over Allah's will?
Never.

A legitimate committed Muslim cannot agree to those terms because they would be compromising their obedience to the Quran. They can Taqiyya all they desire under public scrutiny, but when it comes to actually doing those things? They'll just wait until the spotlight shifts somewhere else and back to the questionable activity.

'sheik' -
Mr Spencer's list of Questions for Sheila Musaji, with a little light editing to adapt it to local conditions, might be very useful here in Australia. Or, indeed, in any other kafir-majority country where 'moderate Muslim' spin-doctors are prominent.
Every kafir journalist and news editor and current affairs show producer worth their salt ought to have it committed to memory: it could be a great way of 'cutting to the chase' in interviews.

This has been around for a while but its still fresh and irrefutable:
Can a good Muslim be a good American?
This question was forwarded to a friend who worked in Saudi Arabia for 20 years. The following is his reply:
Theologically - no. . . . Because his allegiance is to Allah, The moon God of Arabia
Religiously - no. . . Because no other religion is accepted by His Allah except Islam (Quran, 2:256)(Koran)
Scripturally - no. . . Because his allegiance is to the five Pillars of Islam and the Quran.
Geographically - no . Because his allegiance is to Mecca , to which he turns in prayer five times a day.
Socially - no. . . Because his allegiance to Islam forbids him to make friends with Christians or Jews .
Politically - no. . . Because he must submit to the mullahs (spiritual leaders), who teach annihilation of Israel and destruction of America , the great Satan.
Domestically - no. . . Because he is instructed to marry four Women and beat and scourge his wife when she disobeys him (Quran 4:34)
Intellectually - no. . Because he cannot accept the American Constitution since it is based on Biblical principles and he believes the Bible to be corrupt.
Philosophically - no. . . Because Islam, Muhammad, and the Quran does not allow freedom of religion and expression. Democracy and Islam cannot co-exist. Every Muslim government is either dictatorial or autocratic.
Spiritually - no. . . Because when we declare ‘one nation under God,’ the Christian’s God is loving and kind, while Allah is NEVER referred to as Heavenly father, nor is he ever called love in The Quran’s 99 excellent names.
Therefore, after much study and deliberation…. Perhaps we should be very suspicious of ALL MUSLIMS in this country. - - - They obviously cannot be both ‘good ‘ Muslims and good Americans. Call it what you wish it’s still the truth. You had better believe it. The more who understand this, the better it will be for our country and our future. The religious war is bigger than we know or understand. .. …. And Barack Hussein Obama, a Muslim, wants to be our President? You have GOT to be kidding! Wake up America !
Footnote: He refuses to pledge allegiance to the United States or put his hand over his heart when the National Anthem is played! The Muslims have said they will destroy us from within. Hello! Having a Muslim president would seem to fit the bill! Will you trust this man with our national secrets?
at October 6, 2008 10:00 PM
As an extension of #5, have ALL Mohammetans living in secular societies (like the United States and other free world nations) explicitly accept the "separation of church/mosque and state" as a basic condition of accepting our constitutional laws over their Sharia.
They'll never do it. They consequently are implicitly treasonous when taking oath of citizenship.

I assume Sheila Musaji is an American who at some point was swept off her unsteady feet by some Muslim who married her(think of what it meant to him: that green card, those countless other practical considerations) converted (or "reverted") and has become a full-time apologist, carefully averting her eyes from what was surely kept from her, deliberately, when she first was made the object of Da'wa, by her husband and by others too -- they usually keep from potential converts the full contents of Qur'an, Hadith, and Sira, keep mum -- until later on, when it is doled out slowly -- most of the "disturbing" stuff, and by that time you are out far and in deep, and it's too late for most to turn back, to head for the apostates' shore.

...terrorism is not the act of any person who understands anything about the teachings of any of the world’s religions. There is no religious justification for such actions
She got that part right at least.
Robert's list was excellent, but I would add a few points regarding the socially intolerable aspects of Islam:
11) Admit that lying under any and all conditions is intolerable and immoral, as is reneiging on treaties.
12) Repudiate pedophilia. Period.
13) State that loving Jews, Christians, America, and Israel is what decent people do, and that those who don't are below rodents on the food chain.
14) State that sex is only sex when it takes place with the full consent of both partners, both of whom are of age and of sound mind, and that other wise it is rape, a intolerable act.
15) Renounce slavery.
16) Renounce racism.
17) Renounce polygamy, the unfair distribution of justice regarding inheritance and legal rights between men and women, and any and all inequities in Islamic law.
18) Renounce Sharia.
19) Renounce the belief in a supremacist god who hates any of his children, or of the existence of morality in any concept or teaching which does not completely conform to the Golden Rule.
20) Renounce the belief in the divinity - the humanity even - of a rapist, pedophile, mass murderer, polygamist, slave-owner, racist, misogynist, narcissist, hypocrite, psychopath, necrophiliac, looter, pervert, incestuous, torturer, psychopath, monster, cult leader.

at October 7, 2008 12:28 AM
And:
21) Renounce violence or even social antagonism against those who criticize or question Islam.
22) Renounce the use of logical fallacies in defense of Islam, in favor of a comprehensive policy of living in reality with people with brains, souls, and legitimate educations.

This is just way too complicated for me...All these rules and suggestions, designed to help some small percentage of muslims who wish to prove themselves moderates, cannot possibly help any such muslim to be believed when one of their primary religious tenets is to lie...And they seem to be proud of the fact that they are allowed to lie for allah...everything is for allah...What a load of crap...Listen, they all look alike to me, they all sound alike to me, they are all malicious, threatening, lying, fanatics, and their own, twisted, religion makes it impossible for any of them to convince me that some small percentage of Islam is "moderate"...As the saying goes, "consider them armed and dangerous", shoot first and forget about asking questions..."cause they are going to lie with direct instructions from some slimeball, 7th century, pedophile...

She is speaking for herself and no others, the "we" is hollow and empty.
It is islam who should be tracking "those responsible", not the U.S. We should demand islam itself find them, and offer them to us on a platter, that would be a way to show islam as a true faith of peace.
Because they are not, and because islam itself hides and protects those who attack us, and others around the world, islam is leaving us little else but to hold the entire faith of islam as responsible for the actions of those who use the teachings to kill in the name of their god.
We must hold islam at fault, doing so will open the path to end the conflict between this "faith" and the other people of this world. Once islam understands we are doing just this, the begining of the end of this conflict will arrive.

This is an excellent article as usual, thanks for that.
I am sick of people calling the violent Muslims just a few radical or extremist Muslims. Cant people do their own research and stop sprouting the media line. These radicals and extremists are the good Muslims, they are the ones who when they have destroyed a few infidels will be celebrated as heroes by all the so called moderate Muslims. For goodness sake look at Europe now and unless we wake up we will be just the same. No where in history has two totally different races ever been able to live well together for long once their numbers have grown.. let along a race whose religion tells them to destroy us..
Under our left winged government they said 6 months ago that they are going to bring in, 3000.000 immigrants over the next 18 months, this is the first wave..
I go shopping now in our little center and it is full of blacks, Indians' Chinese and others, yet a couple of years ago it was mainly white..
If they committee a crime send them home, if they don't have work within a year send them home, if they cant speak English don't let them come.
Our grandchildren are the ones who will have to wear this but by then it will be tooo late..
How stupid of any government to see what is going on in England and other countries and yet still carry out the same immigration policies here....

An expert on terrorism is warning the United States should be fighting Islamization, which she believes already is under way. And author Brigitte Gabriel should know: She watched it happen in her native Lebanon .
"Lebanon used to be the only majority Christian country in the Middle East," Gabriel told radio talk show host Andrea Shea King in a recent
hour-long interview . "Most people today do not know that. We were the majority, the Muslims were the minority, but as the years went by, the
Muslims became the majority because of their birth rate, but also because of our open-border policy.
"We welcomed everyone into our country," Gabriel said, and people didn't realize that the "minority," the Muslims in the society, "was not tolerant" and "did not believe all people were equal."
"They tried to impose their way of thinking on us, and they succeeded," she said.
The result, Gabriel said, was that a radical terrorist organization tied to Islam, Hezbollah, now rules in Lebanon.
As WND reported , Gabriel is fearful that terrorists believe now is the time to strike at America, while it is distracted by financial tension and election turmoil. She expressed the concerns during an interview with KSFO's Barbara Simpson , when she also discussed her new book,
"They Must Be Stopped: Why We Must Defeat Radical Islam and How We Can Do It."
Gabriel's new interview with King is available on BlogTalkRadio .
She noted it's been seven years since the Sept. 11, 2001, act of war on U.S. soil by Islamists, but America is falling to Islam's attack, and
the battle already is far advanced.
"They do not need to fire a single bullet to destroy us," she said.
"They are taking over our country culturally, just like they have taken over Europe."
She said Islam is being taught across the U.S. as part of world history courses for seventh graders.
"A three-week course is teaching students to memorize and recite Islamic prayers and verses from the Quran," she said. "Students have to
adopt Islamic names, fast for a day to experience Ramadan, the holiest of Islamic religious holidays, and write about their experience as a
Muslim at the end of the program. The exercises during the class include encouraging students to incorporate Arabic phrases such as Allahu Akbar
in their speeches, and for students to imagine they were meeting disciples on a pilgrimage to Mecca. This is a state-approved curriculum,
using state-adopted textbooks that have been part of the instructional program in California for over a decade."
WND reported this week that a new study shows U.S. textbooks provide "information" such as that Jesus was a Palestinian and the nation of
Israel imposes terrorism on others but is not a victim a terrorism.
"Now it is being rolled out nationwide. One book I discuss in particular is 'Across the Centuries,' published by Houghton Mifflin. The
Muslim Council on Education has been busy working with the State Department of Education and America's top three publishers who ...are
literally rewriting history," Gabriel said.
"'Across the Centuries' is a staple in the State of California. This textbook is at best, a well of misinformation. It is 558 pages long and
covers the 1500 years from the fall of the Roman Empire and the French Revolution. The text includes 55 pages devoted to Islam, seven pages
noting the Middle Ages in Europe, and six pages of Christian history.
The chapter on the Byzantine Empire received only six pages. The chapter on Islam accounts for 10 percent of the text, while Christianity and
Judaism are almost entirely absent," she said.
"This is public education approved by the State Board of Education nationwide! Our students are being indoctrinated into Islam in our public schools and we don't even have a clue! How can this be allowed to be taught in public schools in America? Most people do not know about it
because it is flying under the radar!" she said.
At the university level it's worse, she said.
"What's been happening for the last 16 years, Saudi Arabia and the Gulf states ... because of the money coming from the oil, they have been
pumping millions of dollars into our universities appointing Arab professors who are anti-American, anti-Israel, who have been basically
brain-washing our students into believe we are the problem," she said.
"The children, who have been educated in American universities for the last 16 years, have graduated and are now working ... not influenced ...
by our patriotic education as Americans, but they have been influenced by Arab thinking ... [and] hatred based on revenge," she said.
"The writing is on the wall. Who would have thought that Shariah would come to Harvard University with regulated women-only gym hours? That an imam in Des Moines, Iowa, gave an opening prayer at the 2007 Iowa Legislature's opening session in which he called on Allah to give
victory over those who disbelieve? Muslim taxi drivers in Minnesota who refuse to pick up passengers carrying alcohol? The first Islamic public school, the Kahlil Gibran Academy, that opened in 2007, funded by tax dollars! American colleges designating Islamic prayer rooms on campus for use by Muslims only!" Gabriel said.
"Those of us who come from the Middle East and see what's happening in the U.S. ... shake our heads in amazement," she said, calling her book a
warning. "We are coming up to a very important election. This is the time we need to understand what is at stake, why our voice counts, why
we need to go out and vote. This is the time to make a difference before it is too late," she said.
She said that's why besides her book, she's launched the ActForAmerica.org website.
"We launched this out of American Congress for Truth as our activism and political lobbying arm because I realized talking by itself is only
wasting hot air and is entertainment. Action is the only way that's going to make a difference," she said. "History reveals that the
apathetic give way to the passionate, the complacent are subdued by the committed. ACT for America.org is mobilizing people all over the country and giving them the tools to resist the Islamic infiltration in our society on every level: schools, governments, universities and
corporations.
"Our work is vital in educating the American public about what is happening behind the scenes," she said.
"I encourage people to go to our website Act for America.org. I know we have citizen action training seminars coming up in Kansas City and in
Indianapolis within the next two weeks. Sign up and attend them if you are in those areas. And check where we have chapters across the country
and either join a chapter, or if there's no chapter in your community, sign up to lead one. Organized power at the grass roots level trumps the voices of political correctness," Gabriel said.
"The radical Islamists promised to destroy us, and as you know from the recent war in Lebanon, that country is now nearly Islamic," she said.

There are always "moderates" whose positions are too comfortable to be swayed by Mohammads commands to kill and be killed for Islam, to dress different than the kaffir, eat different, dress different...
...but Mohammad himself chastized them, and the Qur'an condemns such Muslims.
What cold be more plain? Islam is intrinsically violent and dedicated to supremicism.
Rejecting individual acts of violence will never be enough... so we must reject Islam.

Jr.,
"Where is this "McVeigh was a Christian" horsecrap coming from? Wasn't he an atheist? What makes him Christian? That he talked to a catholic priest in the days leading up to his execution? You know, years after the bombing?
I talked to David Prowse at a Star Wars convention once, does that mean I contributed to star wars films that happened before I was born?"
This is not suprising because this is one of the "lies" that McVeigh was a Christian when he attacked the Muraigh Building in OK City when in truth he was an atheist at the time.

This discussion would not be taking place had we not let these people in here in the first place.
Can we shut the door now?

This is an excellent list, but I feel that no Muslims will be able to meet it's standards and actually still be a Muslim.
One "reformer" who has appeared on these threads, on Abdullah Mikail, has said he's an American, and he's going to start schools teaching "American Islam", which is a kinder, gentler version of Islam, and is compatible with democracy and freedom.
That's all well and good, and it sounds moderate, that is, until he was pushed and admitted that sharia is superior to any "man-made" law, that he supports suppression of freedoms and oppression of women, and, presumably, public executions of adulterers, Saudi style.
He also said that, in his opinion, those we think of as moderate Muslims are really non-Muslims.
With friends like these...

Ms. Musaji....not once did Timothy McVeigh or Slobadon Milosovich ever use "christianity" or verses from the bible as an excuse to
bomb, or murder human beings. Not once.
Therefore, your argument that ....."christians do it to" in the name of god is outrageous and a thinly veiled (no pun intended)
attempt to malign another religion for what your Koran clearly states...which is to "kill nonMuslims" if we don't convert.
We know what kind of hatchet job you are doing on other religions...to excuse Islamic terrorism. Its not going to work. Many of us are now quite
familiar with the Koran and all the verses used to justify killing "us."
Furthermore, just watching a Muslim on TV trying to excuse Islam...has trained many Americans to the kind of "Muslim Double Talk" goes on, as
instructed by the Koran to "fool the infidels in time of war." We know what you are doing. The Koran clearly states that its OK to lie to a nonMuslim and to any "woman."
There is no such thing as a "moderate" Muslim....because if there was, those who follow the Koran would either kill them or use them to attempt to fool the rest of us. I believe you are such a person.
I am an Atheist. I became an Atheist when I realized that Islam, and other radical religions like it...have caused nearly all the wars, terror,
hate, separatism, ignorance, anti-science, and anti-logic on this planet in all of its history.
Because of religion, the planet is now 2000 years behind in social and scientific progress. Over 1500 years Islam destroyed the great libraries, philosophy, and scientific centers of the Middle East. Now aren't you proud of yourself and your religion.
Islam is the number one reason why many in the Middle East are also concluding that there is no god....and we thank you. I am in a number of Atheist Forums with Atheist Arabs and former Muslims...and they sick of Islam and all of its bloody philosophy.
You are fooling no one Ms. Musaji.

It was a compelling argument right up until you gave Musaji the out with ..."Islam, and other radical religions like it"...
What other radical religions like it, if I may ask?

Ms. Musaji has no response to this

DeeVee: Allow me to ask the same question "awake" did: What other radical religions? If you are thinking Christianity, please note that when Christians centuries ago killed in the name of their religion, they were violating the tenets of their faith. When Muslims kill in the name of their creed, they are invariably fulfilling a major tenet of their faith--------jihad. Huge difference. Couldn't be bigger.
Besides, secular totalitarian ideologies like fascism and Marxism are also responsible for death on a colossal scale. I would submit that the common feature that should be detected where death and destruction follow ideology is whether that ideology is totalitarian in nature. Islam is the only major faith which is totalitarian, as Bertrand Russell observed the better part of a century ago. Therefore, it needs to be singled out as uniquely heinous in a way that no other major faith even remotely approaches.
Also, do you mean by atheism that you deny God exists or that you believe that God does not exist? The former is illogical but the latter does not violate any rule of logic. Merely interested here.

"This is just way too complicated for me...All these rules and suggestions, designed to help some small percentage of muslims who wish to prove themselves moderates, cannot possibly help any such muslim to be believed when one of their primary religious tenets is to lie"
Yep. Any vetting list to weed out moderate Muslims is doomed from the start.
