I.e., a chance to toe the jihadist line and stab Israel in the back.
"Obama: Hamas, Chance For Change," from ANSAmed, November 5 (thanks to Insubria):
(ANSAmed) - GAZA, NOVEMBER 5 - The election of Barack Obama offers the United States a "chance for a change, after his predecessor, Geroge W. Bush destroyed relations with the external world": this was stated by Hamas' al-Aqsa television by an executive from the movement, Ahmed Yussef. Yussef complained that during the electoral campaign, neither Obama nor his rival john McCain dedicated particular attention to the Palestinian issue. We hope, however - he said - that now Obama will understand the suffering of the Palestinian people and that he changes in United States strategy not only in Palestine, but also in Iraq and Afghanistan". (ANSAmed).

Hamas: Obama's election gives U.S. "a chance for change"
....................
Well, why not? The election of Hamas certainly represented a "chance for change", and now we see what a progressive, egalitarian beacon of hope and justice Gaza represents in the world today.

What does The Individual do when a terrorist's friend who has a Muslim background is elected US president during a time when Muslim terrorists are waging war against us? Tell the Truth.

Here's Martin Luther King on Israel:

It's hard to imagine this impassioned plea from Obama.

Well, at this point the Muslim Brotherhood, Indonesian Jihadists, MILF, Iran, the Taliban, and now Hamas have lauded the election of Barack Obama.
Now, of course, no candidate is entirely responsible for their supporters, but this is a damn sobering list.

"...now Obama will understand the suffering of the Palestinian people"....from headline.
Obama will need to get his facts in order before tackling this peace-project.
Palestine Facts:
http://www.palestinefacts.org/pf_faq_palestine_whynostate.php
Excerpt from link:
"First of all, the Palestinian Arabs do have a state. Its called Jordan. During the League of Nations Mandate period, the land originally set aside by the League of Nations as the Palestine Mandate was supposed to provide for a national home for the Jewish people. The British were given the authority to manage the Mandate and help the Jews make the transition to independence. Instead, almost 80% of the original Mandate land was carved out and arbitrarily made into the Arab country of Trans-Jordan (later renamed Jordan). In all the land of the Mandate east of the Jordan River it was "No Jews Allowed". West of the Jordan, the 20% part of the Mandate, the British restricted Jewish immigration and gradually adopted policies that were more and more pro-Arab. Palestinian Arabs are the majority of the population of Jordan even today."
"All of Israel today, and the Jewish lands historically called Judea and Samaria (now the West Bank) plus Gaza are entirely within the 20% slice of the British Mandate left over after the creation of Transjordan. The British Mandate Overview page gives a table with the details of this geographical distribution of the Mandate lands."
"In all of the history of the region, there never was a Palestinian Arab state. The Palestinian Arabs are not a distinct people. With very few exceptions, they are a highly mixed group of immigrants from all over the Middle East and even further regions: Assyrians, Persians and Romans from ancient times, Turks, Armenians, Greeks, Albanians, and Italians, Afghans, Kurds, other Europeans including Germans, Bosnians, Circassians as well as Egyptians, Bedouins, Algerians, Sudanese and many others who have been identified in the population. Most of today's inhabitants can trace their history in the Palestine area no further than the early 20th century when many came to Palestine attracted by the Zionist prosperity and, after World War I, the political stability of the British administration of the Mandate."
"Palestinian Arabs have been offered the opportunity to create a state many times, starting with plans advanced during the British Mandate which the Arabs rejected. Then the United Nation partition plan of 1947, which brought Israel into existence, included a nation for the Palestinians, but the Arabs rejected it. Over the decades since there has been plan after plan that would bring peace to the region and a state for the Palestinians: all they had to do was let Israel live in peace. Arabs rejected all these plans, up to and including at Camp David in 2000 and Taba in 2001, and kept the armed struggle going."
Read it all.

We know what Mickey Mouse will do.
He will be the mouse that roars.
Who will fight for him beside his Chicago goons ?
No wonder Hamas is jumping up and down.

"We hope, however" - he [Yussef]said - "that now Obama will understand the suffering of the Palestinian people and that he [will make]changes in United States strategy not only in Palestine, but also in Iraq and Afghanistan". (ANSAmed).
I, too, hope Obama will make changes in U. S. strategy; but I'm pretty sure that the changes I want are neither the ones that Yussef wants nor the ones O. will make.
Note to the President-elect: I'm available as National Security Advisor in case Bill Ayers doesn't want the job.

Yeah, the 'criminals' don't need to change just the 'police department'.
If we criminalize 'self defense' then those that defend theirselves are the criminals.

Hamas speaks for the whole world?
Well, they do sort of.
The whole world is against Israel, all except for God.

Ebonystone,
"Note to the President-elect: I'm available as National Security Advisor in case Bill Ayers doesn't want the job."
You're in luck. In order to facilitate "change", Ayers wants to be Secretary of "Re-Education".

Is there any doubt that there will be a full-court press by Islamists against us and our allies if Obama fails to live up to their expectations immediately?
Joe Biden was prophetic.

I am sorry, I am terribly sorry, but USA no longer deserves my sympathy. I am no longer looking at US as a bastion of market economy, a chief force opposing communism in the world.
You just voted in a communist, a person who could not even prove he was a legal resident, needless to say a citizen. You voted in someone whose friends are communist and muslim terrorists.
Russia is a pretty doomed and f4cked up country, but it has an excuse: all brains have left the country for the West. USA does not have that excuse: the brains of the world always concentrated in your country. You have no f4cking excuse to have a marxist socialist in the oval office. The left of this world hates you, the muslims of this world hate you, and now the right of this world is going to laugh at you. What a travesty you've become!

Interesting video from MEMRI, tanstaafl. A "hummus war" with Israel, eh? The whole things plays like a farce. Perhaps Mel Brooks had a hand in making it.
I particularly like this shot, which has the words "but it is an intrinsic part of the conflict over land, history, and identity.", and has a background showing sword-swishing be-turbanned Orientals. Not too subtle, eh?

(I'm inclined to think Israelis have about zero interest in co-opting Arabic identity.)

Charles Martel,
As much as I'd like to disagree, I'm finding difficulty in doing so.
With a growing populace that values ease and comfort above all else, the situation appears ominous indeed.

Well, Hamas must be really disappointed tonight - as Israel radio has been announcing all evening that Rahm Emmanuel has been appointed Obama's Chief of staff.
at November 5, 2008 5:09 PM
That MEMRI clip was ironic. There actually is no such thing as Arab cuisine. Arabs never invented anything, but it's ironic that it was out of Lebanon. Much of Arab cuisine was stolen from the Phoenicians. The rest was stolen from the Greeks and the Turks.

Obama can't really "appoint" anybody to anything yet, can he? Wouldn't it just be an "offering", which could or could not be accepted?
And things have a tendency to change, until they're solidified, don't they?

It sounded pretty official - More like a done deal. I imagine he'll bring in some "balance", though.

Charles Martel,
Before I take umbrage at your less than tactful commentary, I'll ask--at whom are you directing it?
While there may be some JW readers who exercised their Constitutional right to vote their conscience, and voted for Obama, I imagine their numbers are few.
If you want to bash America, I'm sure you can find many alternative sites where such corrosive commentary as yours will be endorsed and appreciated, lauded and echoed, praised and admired.
It's foolish of you to condemn your fellow JW readers for the election of Obama. Before you do so, you should really inform yourself about how voting in America works. I'll give you a hint: it's not one person, one vote.
We have this odd little system called an "electoral college", wherein each state is given a certain number of votes. It's very interesting, if confusing, but look into it anyway. You're intelligent enough to grasp it.
