As many stateside wish him to do as well. "Islamists Post Internet Video Urging Obama to Abandon War on Terror," from AP, November 7 (thanks to Phil):
BAGHDAD — Two Iraqi insurgent groups called on President-elect Barack Obama to withdraw from Iraq and Afghanistan and abandon the war on terror, an Internet monitoring service reported Friday.Abu Omar al-Baghdadi, self-styled head of the Al Qaeda front group the Islamic State of Iraq, said in a speech posted on an extremist Web site that it would be better "for you and us" to "withdraw your forces" and "return to your homes," according to the SITE Intelligence Group that monitors militant Web sites.
Al-Baghdadi blamed the global financial crisis on the wars "launched in Muslim countries" and said he was issuing the call on behalf of "my brothers in Iraq, Afghanistan, Somalia, and Chechnya," SITE said.
The U.S. military says al-Baghdadi is an actor who provides a voice for Al Qaeda in Iraq propaganda.
In a separate statement, the Mujahedeen Army, a Sunni insurgent group, urged Obama to withdraw U.S. troops from Iraq or face "days that will be more difficult than the nightmare experienced by his predecessor."...

These idiots can blame the Infidels all they want for the world economic crisis, but there is a poetic turn to the justice. After all, weren't interest rates lowered excessively in response to the 9/11 attacks, helping fuel the housing bubble? And once the bubble burst, didn't that trigger the global meltdown? And hasn't the meltdown cooled demand for oil? And haven't falling oil prices severly impacted the OPEC'ers?
And doesn't that reduce funds for the Global Jihad?
Conclusion: What goes around comes around.
Or...If you want your jizya, don't disable the Infidels.

"Jihadists post Net video urging Obama to abandon resistance to their efforts"
I agree, Obama should abandon the war on terror and get on with the war on Islamic theology. So long as American and Western political, academic and intelectual leaders continue to mouth the lie that Islamic theology is not the root cause of terrorism, we can never hope for a victory in this war.
With all the resources available to a Presidents of the United States, they could easily know the Truth about Islam and it's central place in world terrorism, but prefer not to know. It can only be willful ignorance on their part.
If Bush and his predessors refused to face the truth, there's little hope that Obama will. If anything, Obama will mouth the lie more often and with more conviction than the others.

Hum, oil income as jizya. They did nothing to earn the oil, infidels take it out of the ground for them and it is sold to infidels. Raping the earth as they raped the caravans and so little effort is required.
They have never needed to learn a work ethic. Take away the oil bonanza, limit trade in technology, dismantle their international networks and perhaps they will learn to work... or fade away.

"Abandon the war on terror and get on with the war on Islamic theology." Well said, rational.
I might say wage war on political islam; theological islam will wither.

Might is right. Macht gewinnt.
It's time infidels remember this time treasured wisdom. Hearts and minds follow the victor. Just to remember: One US sub can wipe out Iran. These people know not what power they are playing with - due to PC.
Germany in WW2 made the same mistake. I know about firestorms, armaggedon and unconditional surrender. And I also know about the gratitude of the US the years after. They gave us the go to join the club of civilized nations again.
Islam doesn`t know what's coming down on it once it pokes the West too much.
I can hope, can't I?
I still desperately try to apply western lessons and logic to Islam. And at the same time I try to apply islamic lessons and logic to the west. And I see both are mutually exclusive. Clash is the inevitable outcome. Or surrender. But who to whom?
My conclusion: The West will win. But once again it will be bloody. Just because the West does everything to avoid bloodshed.

So much bluster from a spent force. I suppose they believe Obama can be intimidated by such language.
I wonder if they're right?

They needn't ask anything of Barrie - because with Barrie's economic beliefs and implementation, the West might be so enervated and weak that islam can just walk in and take over.
And that's what Barrie wants - America taken down a peg or two.

The Mujahedeen Army is projecting, has no more clue about what BHO is likely to do than any of the rest of us, and is every bit as capable of wishful thinking, perhaps even more so, as even the most deluded Western Leftist. They have to try, though, to get Obama's attention while his narrow pre-inaugural window is open, so this is there attempt to get his attention. My prediction (hope, at any rate) is that BHO will surprise the Jihadists and disabuse them of most of their delusions soon after being sworn in, with renewed support for Israel and for a reinvigorated effort in Afghanistan that will neuter the Taliban. The first signals about how he is likely to lean on these matters will be with his cabinet announcements, specifically Defense, State and Homeland Security.

Obama will probably try to have it all ways, not in a statesmanlike manner but rather a muddled one, and in the process will end up satisfying no one and accomplishing virtually nothing, thus making America and the West even more vulnerable. Above all it should be kept in mind that he doesn't understand what Islam really intends (to be fair, no President has to date) and, until a President does, then the best we can hope for is stumbling into the correct course of action from time to time. I'm not sure we'll even get this from an Obama Administration, which will almost certainly never learn that the barbarian must be kicked in the ass until he can't bend over anymore to be kicked. I see big trouble ahead from a weak chief executive. Hope I'm wrong for my country's sake.

I feel the same way. But I've had my brandy, smoked my cigar, pondered every sunset since the election (all three of them), and tried to grok what the future might hold. We seem to be at some sort of cross roads in history. And although I might not wish to be swept onto a path not of my choosing, neither I nor anyone else has any option but to ride along on whatever path the bus takes. It's a very unsettling feeling.

I believe B O actually DOES understand what islam really intends, at least, in part. His affiliation with the most extreme and VILE leftists, and their connections to jihadists, stealth and not so stealth, over the years, along with his OWN connections to them, having them over for dinner, attending their "push the Israelies into the sea" parties and such...Even an empty suit/Manchurian candidate could see it. The "radical" leftists in the US and the jihadists have the same goal - to destroy the west and remake it in their own ideal, FAR from the original intent! Now he is in the position of saying, after the election is over, "...now what?!"

Just remember, profitsbeard, the utter futility of resistance to the Obamaian New Order. When we are all shipped off to the internment camps for ReEducation And Correction Training (REACT), we will fall all over ourselves to denounce each other for antiSocial, reactionary, counterRevolutionary crimes! Go on, say it! Say with me, "I LOVE BIG BROTHER." There, now -- don't you feel so much better, not having to fight, to resist anymore, but just to accept the People's Judgment?

Yes, encouragoing BO to surreneder and pull out of Iraq and Afghanistan. Scary part is that is what BO said he will DO, if he was elected. Then he sort of moved to the "center" to appeal to independent voters that he would not be so "hasty"
in his actions of pulling out our forces from Iraq and Afghanistan. Now that he has bought, oops I "won" the election, he will revert back to
the words that the he learned from radical teachers and friends.. Retreat and compromise and socialize the masses. The company of friends that BO has hung out with tells us all we need to know. 57 million of us saw this charlatan for what he he truly is and represents: a socialistacrat and islamic sympathizer.
As duh_swami has noted: the religion of peace will wage war upon us, the west unless we bow down to the pervert allah and his puppet, little mo. Subvert, convert or die, that is the way of the religion of peace. If we need to level Iran, Syria and some other islamofacist pig farms, then so be it. It seems to be the only thing they understand.

In my unqualified opinion, Obama will capitulate...in less than a year...
Al-Quaeda is getting their butts kicked in Iraq, we know it , they know it....the Democrats refuse to admit it....More and more in Afghanistan the terrorist are beginning to suffer badly...they know it, we know it, the Democrats refuse to admit it...
When Obama pulls the troops the terrorists will declare victory...and they will be justified....they will have won..we know it , they know it , and the Democrats could care less...
and those living in those countries who are honest, hardworking, and peace loving will suffer terribly...so goes life in a Muslim dominated land..
Ban Muslim Immigration.

I call on President-elect (not my choice) Obama to leave (not "abandon") Iraq and Afghanistan and challenge those who truly oppose jihad to stand up and be counted.
If they're "afraid" then that's their tough luck. Why must only Western nations be willing to give their lives for freedom? Democracy requires you to stand up and be counted. Those who are not willing to accept the responsibility that comes with freedom shouldn't whine when they are taken over again by mobsters (oops, jihadists!). The US cannot stay forever. Taxpayers' wallets aren't overflowing. Our treasury is not a bottomless pit. To the contrary, we are BORROWING every penny we spend in Iraq and Afghanistan. What have we gotten in return?
On the domestic front, the best thing President-elect Obama can do would be to put an immediate and total ban on all non-diplomatic travel from Muslim nations and ban all travel by Muslims anywhere in the world into America.
American Muslims should be told: once you leave, you won't be allowed to come back. That way, there will be no more travel to foreign countries for "education" in terrorist "training camps". No more "going home to visit relatives". You can write, call or e-mail. Your relatives won't come here. (Sorry President-elect Obama but not even YOUR relatives can come!)
When they scream and holler say: end the jihad and America's doors will open wide once again.

My opinion: By all means abandon Iraq. Bring everyone home, whether they want to come, or not. This includes any ambassadors, the roughnecks at the oil production sites, any non-Muslim.
Take away all hope of "foreign aid" from the US--no more money, no more food, no more medical treatment.
Let them rot.

But what is "too much"? 9/11 was just a pinprick?
If 9/11, 3/11, 7/11 and all the ten thousand attacks that have occurred JUST since 2001 haven't made the West notice, WHAT WILL?
The West isn't a sleeping giant. It's DEAD or, at the very least, comatose.
Flight 93 could have taken out the White House or the Capitol and I'm not sure that it would have mattered. All we would have heard was that we can't blame "innocent Muslims".

If anyone needs a reason to do what is outlined by Abscedere, here is but one. The fatwas issued by clerics in Iran are one thing but this is from our "ally", al-Sistani (on MEMRI.ORG).
A source close to Al-Sistani reported that following a meeting with Al-Maliki, the ayatollah had taken the prime minister's hand and said: "I do not want this hand to sign the pact."
Senior Iraqi Cleric Al-Sistani: History Will Judge the Iraqi Parliament For Its Decision On This Pact
Senior Shi'ite Iraqi cleric Ayatollah 'Ali Al-Sistani called on Iraqi Prime Minister Nouri Al-Maliki to resist U.S. pressures and to refrain from signing the pact as currently stands. However, he stated that he would leave the final decision to "the Iraqi parliament, people and political parties." [6]
Two days later, however, he took a firmer position. His representative Ahmad Al-Safi reminded the Iraqi parliament of the historic responsibility it was facing, and added: "The Iraqi people will reject any concessions on [Iraq's] sovereignty and independence. This generation, and those to come, will not forgive those who were negligent in [fulfilling] this important historic duty."
Al-Safi also stressed that although Al-Sistani had authorized the parliament to decide on the pact, he nevertheless had his own opinion of it. A source close to Al-Sistani reported that following a meeting with Al-Maliki, the ayatollah had taken the prime minister's hand and said: "I do not want this hand to sign the pact."
