Taliban says maybe we won't always have Paris

casablancarickandelse.jpg
The problems of two little people don't amount to a hill of beans in this crazy world

Are you one of those people who cannot imagine the Taliban in their beloved Paris?

"Taliban threaten Paris attacks, claim troops' killing," from Reuters, November 17 (thanks to all who sent this in):

The Taliban has threatened to launch attacks in Paris unless France withdraws from Afghanistan, in a video aired by Al Arabiya television.

The video also claimed an ambush that killed 10 French troops in August was carried out by the Taliban. It was not clear when the recording was made.

"We have killed 10 French soldiers today as a message to the French so that they rectify their mistakes and withdraw from Afghanistan, and if they don't they will hear our response in Paris," said Mullah Farouq, identified as the commander of the unit that raided the French troops, on the video. His remarks were dubbed into Arabic by the station....

I'm feeling nostalgic for the French already. Of course, they can't fight back. Actually I am surprised Paris stll belongs to the French at all...does it?

Paris has been mentioned. Therefore France. And therefore, once again it is permissible to post that famous scene that French diplomats, prating of Lafayette and Rochambeau, fail to understand is, in the American mind, the most important thing they have going for them in this country. No public relations campaign can possibly compare:

http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=_iYbEPZVVIA

And here's a posting I put up a month ago:

Watching again this duel of the songs in "Casablanca," one of the most famous scenes in American film, I was struck by how the actors, who play those assembled in Rick's Cafe, sing the Marseillaise and drown out the Germans with such passion and unfeigned fervor; they really mean it, they really meant it. I did a little googling, and what I discovered did not disappoint.

Here, then, is a partial explanation:

Now, watch it again, and just see if you can hold back, in every sense:

The Frenchwoman singing, at 0.55, and then shouting "Vive la France" at 1.26, is French actress Madeleine LeBeau, who with her husband, the French actor Marcel Dalio (ne Israel Moshe Blauschild), fled Paris when the Germans entered in June 1940. They went into American exile, and not long after, found themselves on a Hollywood studio lot, in the welcoming warmth of America, (Europe's final refuge and its ultimate protector), where not helpless people, as in Paris, at the hands of the Germans, but only movies, such as that known as "Casablanca," were being shot.

Why in the world can't we call their bluff and threaten to blow up Mecca and Medina or any other of their holy cities. Let them know that unless they stop their ways, we will detonate their sacred cities! If the Saudis don't like it then get them to step up and help to control their fanatics!

Mullah this and mullah that. Seems like a lot of mullah(ying) is going around.

I've been mulling an idea, but I believe I'm off topic here.

Wish I could convey the theme song to the Twilight Zone.

How long before the French capitulate? I'm taking bets.

OT, but here is a tantalizing article linking basic physics and a universe that seems tailor-made to sustain life...

Gotta admit it, the French have one heckuva national anthem. "To arms, citizens" indeed, and to your senses, too. Remember Vercingetorix, Charles Martel, and Jeanne d'Arc!

I really dont think that it is wise to take this lightly, some prophets say that it will be take out by a nuclear bomb.. mainly the target is the pope...
What do others think???

Will the Taliban teach the French how to fight, or will the French teach the Taliban how to surrender?

Hard to predict this one!

Posted by: Infidel Pride [TypeKey Profile Page] at November 18, 2008 2:51 AM

theblakester;
You gave two on the list, and islam offers thousands more. From nuclear projects, to schools,"churches", teachers of the poison that is islam, places where their "holy" books are printed, etc, tbc.

Instead of chasing this or that underground follower of islam, we can do much more. If the price of attacks on the free worlds is high enough to their world, the followers of islam may force the ones that attack and threaten us to reconsider. Some will even help us do just that.

The followers of islam are vast, but we will never see most of them, they are not the trouble, nor are they the threat. It is the ones who bring the fight to us, without fault of our actions, It must be made clear, what happens in their world is on their hands.

We are not the enemy to them, islam is.

So, the list will be written, and used. No warning, no claims, just automatic reaction to attacks on us. No trace back to "us", whoever "us" is at that moment. Stealth that will lead to nothing we do not want it to.

Is islam going to understand we will not sit and wait for them to attack, then just hunt down a few followers in ten or twenty years, then give them lawyers for trials?

Things are "changing", where it goes from here is up to the followers of islam.

Meanwhile, why do we in the West consult lawyers whether it is alright to take out Taliban leaders, or refuse to bomb a Taliban funeral and take out 200 or more of these murderous barbarians out of political correctness? You can't be nice with these savages, as chivalry doesn't exist in their rulebook. A determined and self-confident West that wasn't paralysed by the corrosive influence of all manner of politically-correct do-gooders would have erased these savages once and for all by now, and had we fought World War II like we are fighting the Taliban, we would have spent the last 68 or so years as a conquered people.

Sarkozy's manhood extends as far as his supermodel's bed.

France will fold like a tent in front of this flea-bearded jihadi threat.

Posted by: Marwan'sDaughter [TypeKey Profile Page] at November 18, 2008 5:55 AM

Exactly, Spirit: like we did with the Thuggees - disarm them, punish them and shut them up. In the end, do the Indians complain that the British destroyed Thuggism? the longer we wait, the longer they have to hurt us all.

Posted by: PG [TypeKey Profile Page] at November 18, 2008 6:16 AM

Why would the Taliban directly threaten France with an attack? Because the Taliban, unlike the U.S., have read and taken military acton based upon the history of their adversary (France).

Posted by: Spot on [TypeKey Profile Page] at November 18, 2008 7:32 AM

Guys:
Can we quit with French surrender monkey motif please.

France is fortunately in much better shape than in 1940. Remember the French were deeply traumatized by WW I and hadn't had time to recuperate when WW II started. Remember the French lost upwards of 1 million men and devastated their industrial regions.
Also the general were truly profligate with the lives of their men
It's easy for Americans to forget that their military came after the worse battles of WW I- Somme, Ypres, Verdun. The French weren't the only ones to mutiny. The Brits did too but were better at covering it up.

They've been good work in Afghanistan. While the ambush was very tragic, that unit still managed to kill the majority of the attackers.
So don't underestimate the French. They'll find the creeps and quietly blow them away

xavier,
Seeing is believing.

The dueling anthems scene was more than sixty years ago. Times have changed. Back then, France was the colonial power. Today it is being colonized.

Ibn Warraq, who has lived in both England and France, thinks that Muslims are making gains, and finding the Infidels more of a pushover, in England. Instilling and keeping vivid a self-conscious pride in the history and the literature and the language might seem to be as easy, or as hard, in both countries, but apparently the French system does it better. And this is important in keeping the immune system intact. It is also true, however, that there are about 1.5 million Muslims living in Great Britain, and 5-6 million Muslims living in France. However, artful deployment of the rules of the laic state can make the practice of Islam more rather than less difficult. It is the consciousness of the need to defend laicite that is now helping the French state, whatever its other faults and dreams, including a pro-Arab foreign policy for decades (since De Gaulle's "sur de lui-meme et dominateur" remark), and now this idiotic Deux-Rivisme -- which google -- which needs to be mocked and undone), to defend itself.

Watch that Casablanca clip again. What would the British sing? God Save The Queen? Britannia Rules The Waves? With the same fervor? These things matter.

'I love Paris in the spring time, I love Paris
when it falls'...

A new Taliban theme song, sure to become popular with hostile Mohammadans everywhere.

Mohammadans love for the fall of kufr capital cities knows no bounds.

They all belong to Allah and all kufrs are trespassing...

I got news for you all.
More French people are aware of the danger of Islam than Americans.
and now if you are an immam preaching violence or jihad , you are in for immediate deportation.
Maybe France will sink too but it will be the last one to do it and it will not be without a fight . This fight will also include a lot of moderate Muslims. They are very active in the cleaning of the place and they are first on line because they know better than anyone else the forthcoming danger.
It is not the case in this country.
So far and correct me if I am wrong , I never heard of an arrest in a Mosque for preaching
violence, and after Sept11 . the silence of the Muslim community was spectacular.

If you have never experienced ignorance, just come and visit the Midsouth ,If you can make a little survey among the people and ask them how many have the basic knowledge of Islam or even know someone Muslim, you are going to be shocked,

but meanwhile the Muslim population is growing like rabbits, building Mosques and schools.

We really should spend more time informing and educating our own people.

The French can act decisively and ruthlessly when they want to; generally when French interests are threatened.
Back in the 70's, when a small part of Somalia was still French Somaliland, a group of terrorists highjacked a schoolbus full of French children and held them hostage out in the back-country. The French deployed a number of sharpshooters with sniper-scopes. Each shooter had his man, and when all had a clear shot, they fired. The result was seven dead terrorists, and all the children unharmed.

In Casablanca, a Czech had to take the lead in singing the FRENCH national anthem. The French sat, sullenly watching the Germans until Victor got the band to play. He started singing all by himself, not waiting for anyone to join in. His voice never wavered. He would have sung it alone if he had to. And he wasn't even French. Paul Henreid was magnificent.

aeros,
and without the US and Britain where would France be?
The help they gave the colonists is two centuries ago. Stop living on past glory.

France, Britain, the U.S.
bicker, snipe, insult,
the jihadis love this scenario,
for they know to divide is to conquer.

The Taliban are now an international terror org? Thanks Bush.
The Taliban could've been bought out for a couple of billion and promises to kill Bin Laden quietly in their country.

We will never spread "democracy" in Afghanistan. We have tried to take Afghanistan for numerous reasons over the centuries but failed.

Gun boat diplomacy always fails. Money never fails.

"Watch that Casablanca clip again. What would the British sing? God Save The Queen? Britannia Rules The Waves? With the same fervor? These things matter."

Posted by Hugh,

Right. Would we still be dreaming and singing like Lennon:

'Imagine there's no countries
It isn't hard to do
Nothing to kill or die for
And no religion too'

Or are we about to wake up and revive Rule Britannia?
We may no longer rule the waves, but can we still claim that Britons never never never shall be slaves?

Thanks, Cornelius, for that Discover article you posted a link to above. Fascinating. Often times I have wondered if deity-centered assessments of existence are not just very deceptive self-promotional exercises. And with one religion in particular, you know, the one folks like us post about here regularly at JW, we have a belief system so demanding, so controlling and so destructive of human inclinations and impulses, including the one to question everything, that it is arguably ready-made to disallow mankind from ever accurately grasping why there is anything rather than nothing. At least with the other major faiths, there no longer exists earthly threats for disagreeing with them. Not so for the odd man out of world religions, whose crude, child-like beliefs, so different from what is found in more sophisticated faiths, prevent it, I would contend, from ever evolving into a more tolerant stage. Too bad. Free inquiry, unencumbered by threats of this or that, is a beautiful thing in itself. Again, thanks for the link to that article.

In France, England and Germany the best fighters against the current silent Islamisation of Europe would be the European Ex-muslims.
They know how to do to stop the Islamisation of new universities students in London and every where by the Islamic Society and other organisation..etc...they dont want more mosques in Europe ...etc..
Infortunatly European gov ernments and especially UK labor party is against EX- Muslim.
Empowring muslims and fondamentalist and helping any Islamic organisation who want to register to welcom new student from muslims countries.
Believe it or not : STUDENT WHO NEVER WENT TO THE MOSCQ IN THEIR OWN COUNTRY GO NOW AFTER BEEN HIRED BY THE ISLAMIC SOCIETY.

This is an unfair descrimination against English Christians.

And money from Saudi Arabian citizens and other rich oil countries helps greatly Islamic charities, in Europe.
In fact an imam has just to smile and tell the local autority that he " Im a moderat muslim" to continue his discret endoctrinment's mission trough preaching and talking personnally to many new people and having many helpers for recruting new folowers.
Most Ex-muslims are like prisonners in the UK and Europe in general, they must hide them self, because muslims are so powerfull and treatens them in the dailly life. For exemple in the UK If they talk againt the Islamisation of the current islamisation of the country , government intimidate them, accuse them of "offensive words" or accuse them of "oppression of an ethnic mironirity".
Petitions from Ex-muslims are rejected by the governement. While muslims having more and more rights. An this in the name of what is called "social cohesion" and "multiculturalism" etc...inviting muslims youth to advise UK governement as " a religiouse minority" but refusing to invite youth from other religouse minorities in Englan like "Boudhist"
"indouists" , "sikhs" and others. This is a descrimination. An even why not inviting some representative of Christian youths? After all they are governing England, a christian land.
And of course British Ex-muslims youth would be never invited. Its a blasphem for the uk governement and local autorities. . And even their life is treatened by precisely those Imams that European governments love so much.

And now as westerner, if you want to lern about tolerance just write to the king of Saudi Arabia. You will receive free lessons. But dont ask about the amputation of the robber or the rape of the homosexual, or the use of lettle girls etc...its not correct to ask such questions to a friend country. Especially that we have same ennemies : Talibans, Iran etc...
So the horror of Saoudian regime look like a holly light from the sky to westerners now. Its just unbelieveable. Saoudian are also contributins strongly to the current Islamisation of the world financing so many Koranic schools in North Africa trying to destabilise the region.

'Johanna'

might you just possibly be one of those ex-Muslims? If that is indeed the case and you have sincerely and permanently left the Cult of Mohammed, and are following in the footsteps of brave people like Ayaan Hirsi Ali, Patrick Sookhdeo, Ali Sina, Magdi Cristiano Allam, and Ibn Warraq...welcome.

For those who came in late...for those who have only started reading, or posting, or lurking here, in the past few months, or even the past year, and have not necessarily have had time to explore the archives...and as a special treat for any new French or Francophone visitors

here are three haunting pieces by Mr Hugh Fitzgerald, each dealing in different ways with the absolute incompatibility between Islam and everything that makes France what France, at her best, has been.

From four years ago, but it hasn't dated one little bit,
