Lieberman is the ONE BRIGHT SHINING STAR in the Democratic Party! I even liked him when he was running for Veep, although I am not Jewish and I was glad the Dems lost.
Why do I like him? For the same reason the Dems may scuttle him - he is honest and decent as well as intelligent! Another admirable characteristic is that he never, NEVER GIVES UP, a distinction we Christians should emulate.

The Dem leaders didn't take Lieb off his seat because it likely will not matter. It seems that Stevens will lose in Alaska, if that hasn't been finalized yet, Franken may still be able to steal Minnesota, and Ga has a history of defeating the leading candidate in a runoff. Plus with the two remaining hardcore RINO's, I know Snowe from Maine is one can't remember the other, pretty much assures them a filibuster proof majority.

I share your admiration for Lieberman. Although he is way too liberal for me on many issues, he does "get" the threat of Islam to a much greater extent than many of his congressional cohorts. Lieberman's gutsy endorsement of McCain was an acknowledgment that McCain's understanding of the threat of Islam, flawed though it may be, was much preferable to that of Barry Hussein's.

I am seeing nothing coming from the Obama camp to allay my fears that he will throw Israel to the wolves.

Lieberman's colleagues in the Democratic Caucas voted 42 to 13 in allowing him to keep the gavel on the Homeland Security Committee, and now Mr. Zogby is under fire for conducting a push poll in favor of Obama.

Not genes, but definitely psychological, and cultural. Just because he's born in America (I'm not sure Zogby was, but if he was, he has parents firmly enmeshed in the "old world" culturally/psychologically) doesn't mean he magically became cut off from his Arab roots. Also he has lots of non-Muslim idiots surrounding him here in the good old USA who think Islam is the cat's pajamas.

The West has had many attacks from 911 to the present (and before), and I count attacks that were planned but stopped by intelligence agents (like the attack on gas pipelines in a suburb of New York that could have killed hundreds or thousands). There are still Muslims we can't locate who are fanatically planning more mass murders, and it's people like Zogby and you who want us to let down our guard. So Muslims can't conquer the West, therefore let's turn a blind eye to plots to kill mass numbers of us?

Zogby is a craftier, more practical Edward Said. Why can't more Arabs be like Brigitte Gabriel and Raymond? What is it about so many Christian Arabs that causes them to identify with Muslims? Zogby is of Maronite Christian Lebanese descent, born and raised in the US, who happens to hold a Ph.D. in Islamic studies. So of course he knows. As a political analyst and a Middle East expert, he is fully aware of the nature of the Muslim Brotherhood and of their expansionnist agenda. But he made his living and built his fame on his "Arab" identity and that comes with a price. With articles published in more than a dozen Arab newspapers, some if not most probably managed by the Brothers, and his need, as a scholar, to maintain good relations with Arab Universities - the Brotherhood's favorite "niche" along with the Lawyers' Syndicates - he has to run to their defense whether he agrees or not.

Compare Zogby with another famous Lebanese Maronite Christian, Bashir Gemayel. He, on the other hand, is the one who coined the term dhimmitude, making it clear to Muslims that he wasn't going to take it anymore. He was assassinated the same day.

Was there something Bashir Gemayel knew that Zogby, an expert on Islam, didn't know? I don't think so. But I am prepared to bet Zogby would never have pronounced the "d" word, at least not in public.

The democrats did not have a choice. Firing Lieberman from Homeland security would have been a huge mistake. It would have shown their spirit of revenge. They know that they are running the show anyway.

Let me just say that the Dems gave me hope tonight. Cornelius, you are probably right that they are simply counting heads and realizing that there are cases where sixty is a better number than fifty-nine. I think that was a good sign. They didn't assume they could roll Republicans and that they needed to keep as many Democrats as possible. The senators seem to have had cooler heads than the c-span callers who wanted Lieberman dumped. At least for one day, the grownups seemed to be in charge.
I don't get how they could call for Republicans to work with Obama but they would seek revenge on Lieberman for working with a Republican. Would whoever ran on a "Unity 08" ticket also have been banished?

We *have* had a lot of angry and/ or sneering and supercilious Muslims, with or without masks, here lately, haven't we?

I find it interesting that they should suddenly become so numerous, and so aggressive, and so insulting, insulting enough to lower the tone of the house, around about the time that 'Stealth Jihad' is getting into people's hands, and people are reading it.

They are also hoping, I think, by insulting Mr Spencer in different ways, to 'poison the well' - to keep people from reading him; and also, if at all possible, by being so appallingly unpleasant, to keep new non-Muslim lurkers from remaining here to read and learn.

I think that Mr. Leiberman has gone through an enormous amount of pressure for taking a road that he believes in with his own concience and heart. The pressure he knew he would incur for taking that road just shows me that there are SOME politicians in Washington that are not in it just for the power, prestige and money they receive. He is one who is in it for his conviction of heart and desire to do what he thinks is right. I truly respect him and anyone like him that stands by sincere convictions. He was well aware that McCain couldn't win in the current environment, yet chose the message of protecting America and Israel at the cost of his polical career.

Islam, the most diabolical and long-lasting of any totalitarian system, will eventually be seen for what it is, a perverted form of religion founded by a brutal, clever fraud and which has ruined countless lives over the centuries.

Just think of how many millions uopon millions of people across the world now look upon Islam with contempt, a contempt these same people did not have for it even a decade ago. A poll taken in The Netherlands in 2007, a nation long indentified with tolerance and understanding of others, found that half of the Dutch polled thought there was something intrinsically wrong with the entire Islamic faith. Half! No way that result would have occurred just forty years ago when Islam was still somewhat dormant and largely confined to the kind of unproductive places that Islam left alone will inevitably create. People everywhere are having their eyes opened to how horrible Islam really is. To know Islam is to despise Islam. Losing side of history indeed.

I have noticed over a period of time that hostile enemies of freedom, both Mohammadan, and otherwise seem to appear in waves or small groups.

There are no or few trolls for a while and then all of a sudden many or at least several. Most of them just drop bombs and run.

dagny4jrf...It's entirely possible that Prophet Obama will not be in the White House, he could be in prison instead, over his birth place issue.

There is already a Constitutional crisis.

A number of lawsuits have been filed in the States..

If Obama was not born in Hawaii as claimed, and can't produce a valid birth certificate, and is ruled not eligible by Constitutional law, he is wide open to charges of criminal fraud.

The Constitution is clear...The only question is will the courts follow the law...if they don't it is legal anarchy...

Raymond, not Robert, was the one asked to testify - probably because he was originally from Egypt, home of the Muslim Brotherhood. So obviously he knows that there's nothing right with them, but even for someone supposedly on the right side as Joe Lieberman, being opposed to the Muslim Brotherhood - the parent organization of Hamas and al Qaeda - is Islamophobic.

I'd guess there are a good number of Congressmen - both Democrat and Republican - who think that being against al Qaeda is Islamophobic.

Raymond was asked to testify because he wrote the Al Qaeda Reader and is quite familiar with jihadist rhetoric and doublespeak, plus he's fluent in Arabic, so he knows what they're saying to their other audience, as opposed us gullible infidels. He's not from Egypt, but his parents are. He understands jihad better than the average bear and he discusses it in a scholarly way. Plus, being Arab, he can't be accused of 'racism,' and being Christian, he's trustworthy, unlike Mohammedans.

I hope those here who think Lieberman is doing, or has done, *something* right, will let him know; and give their reasons, so as to encourage him to keep on doing that something right, with even greater conviction.

Is there anyone here from the Senator's home state, who could see about providing him with a nice copy of 'Stealth Jihad'? Perhaps Caroline Fourest's 'Brother Tariq' to go with it? And, of course, Bostom's "The Legacy of Islamic Antisemitism", to get rid of any illusions about how, being a Jew, he is most likely viewed by quite a lot of Muslims, here, there, and everywhere.
