MINNEAPOLIS -- Young Somali men are vanishing off the streets of the Twin Cities. More than 20 have left in the last few months, and the community fears they’ve gone back to Somalia to fight in a holy war.They’re known in the Somali community simply at The Missing. More than 20 young Somali men, between the ages of 17 and 22, who have left the Twin Cities in the last few months, without a single word to their families.
The families and community leaders believe the men have gone back to fight in a bloody civil war, in which Al Quiada is a major player.
"They're concerned, emotional and in shock,” Omar Jamal, of the Somali Justice Center said. “They're completely grief stricken.
From multiple sources in the Somali community, FOX 9 has learned eight men are believed to have left on August 1, and another ten on November 4....
Then, last week, five families went to the FBI, worries their kids were part of some jihad in Somalia. For their part, the FBI would not confirm or deny whether they have an ongoing investigation....
Some of The Missing are believed to be former gang members, escaping the street violence that’s claimed the life of seven young Somali men this year. Others are in college, and some were said to be deeply religious.
The irony is their families risked everything to escape the violence and religious wars, yet something or someone is luring the young men back....
Hmmm. What could it be?

What "community" is that? One would think that most "communities" in the Twin Cities would be glad they're gone.
Too bad so few have left.
Now let's hope that INS will make sure they don't get back in.
Of course, maybe they never left at all; maybe there's a John Gacy or Wayne Williams at work in the Twin Cities.

What rot. If someone in Minneapolis wanted to escape local violence, they'd move to Duluth, not *Somalia*.

Why would they think such a thing, if the missing young lads hadn't said a "single word" to their families? A typical Minneapolis family might worry that their kid had run away to Chicago--not that they were off half-way around the world to join in Jihad.
Either the families themselves spoke often of Jihad, or the gangs did, or they urged Jihad in the local mosques. This doesn't come out of nowhere, even if many of the families are actually upset by this turn of events.

Well, I hate to see this sort of thing happening anywhere but I'm glad they aren't carrying out their jihadi tendencies here. Any place that's had as many 'integration' issues as Minneapolis has can't be surprised when other forms of behaving in accord with the Koran start showing up - from what I've read, that's all this sort of thing is unfortunately.

A Minnesota without any Somali Muslims can only be a better Minnesota. America as a nation and Islam as a religion have nothing in common. The former is laudable; the latter is execrable.

More seriously, if there is a jihad going on in Somalia and young Somalis are returning to fight it, doesn't it make sense to assume that young Iraqis in Dearbornistan would return to Iraq to fight their Jihad against local Sunnis, or that Pakis in Bradfordabad would return to La-whore or Karachi to fight those Jihads? Except that I don't see too much of that.
Maybe, if US troops were withdrawn from Iraq and Afghanistan and jihadis thought their odds were better, they'd return. Don't worry about Pakistan or Afghanistan going Jihadi - we can always bomb them whenever they so much as sneeze in our direction.
