MSNBC anchor amazed that Obama's election hasn't ended jihad

MSNBCdolt.jpg

Because of course the global jihad began as a reaction to the policies of George W. Bush, didn't it?

Here is Alex Witt on MSNBC on November 27, via Rich Noyes at Newsbusters, December 1 (thanks to James):

ALEX WITT: You know, John, and it’s interesting because there are many who had such an optimistic and hopeful opinion of things, and you certainly can’t expect things to change [snaps fingers] on a dime overnight, but there are many who suggested that with the outgoing Bush administration and the incoming Obama administration there would be something of a lull in terrorism attacks. There had been such a global outpouring of affection, respect, hope, with the new administration coming in, that precisely these kinds of attacks, it was thought — at least hoped — would be dampered down. But in this case it looks like Barack Obama is getting a preview of things to come.

But now Alex Witt can report the rest of the story: it was all because the jihadists didn't get the memo!

"Apologetic Mumbai Killers: 'We Didn't Get the Memo About Obama,'" from Iowahawk, December 2:

MUMBAI - Ajmal Amir Kasab, the sole surviving member of the 10-man team of Pakistani gunmen that left hundreds dead or wounded after a bloody three day rampage in Mumbai, today blamed the mayhem on an "email mixup" that left him and his colleagues unaware that Barack Obama had won election as President of the United States.

"What? Oh bloody hell, now you tell me," said Kasab, as he was led away in handcuffs by Indian security forces.

Kasab, 21, apologized to Indian President Pratibha Patil, explaining that no one in his group had known about the recent U.S. election results.

"Boy, talk about having egg on the face," said a visibly embarrassed Kasab. "If we knew Bush was on his way out, obviously we would have called off the crazy random baby-shootings and martyrdom stuff, and signed on with the Peace Corps or Habitat for Humanity. At this point I guess all I can say is 'my bad.'"

"Seriously, I can't even begin to tell you how shitty the whole situation makes me feel," he added dejectedly. "Don't get me wrong, I'm as thrilled as everybody else to find out Barack won the election, but this moment is always going to be bittersweet knowing that all those shootings were tragically unnecessary. Not to mention the six weeks I wasted in training camp."

Kasab, who is personally suspected of killing over 30 victims at point-blank range in a posh Mumbai hotel, was at a loss to explain how he and other members of the terrorist assault team remained unaware of the historic U.S. election results that many American analysts predicted would lead to an immediate and permanent outbreak of rapturous harmony and transcendent brotherly love throughout the universe.

"Jeez, I'm... I don't know, I just never got any kind of memo," said Kasab. "The ironic thing is that just the other day, when we were ritually shaving our testicles for final martyrdom, a bunch of us were talking about how great and symbolic it would be if the American infidels would only elect an handsome, articulate young African-American infidel. That way we could just lay down the suicide belts and scimitars and suitcase nukes and finally get involved in the positive aspects of community activism, like raising awareness for breast cancer research. Look, I know it's a cliche to point fingers at the IT department, but our email system really sucks. And it's hard to find a decent wi-fi hot spot in Northwest Pakistan."...

Read it all!

Oh, and just in case anyone didn't know, the Iowahawk piece is satire. The MSNBC one is real.

No, you can't expect change on a dime, unless you're making a nickel purchase. Frankly, I wouldn't give a plugged nickel for that kind of fraudulent hope.

Now, if we were back 150 years ago, and tendered a dime for a five cent purchase, you could tell the shopkeeper to "keep the half-dime"--the nickel five-cent piece wasn't introduced until 1866. Please keep the change.

Have mercy. How stupid people are these days. People tried to talk about this but were ignored. We better brace ourselves.

Oh, and just in case anyone didn't know, the Iowahawk piece is satire. The MSNBC one is real.

Good thing you put in that last line.
Seriously, what did the MSM expect, when the jihadists had already dismissed BHO as another "house n-----" like Condi Rice.

Having just read the above 'article', i must say i am disappointed. Seems the author would be better served not playing such semantic games with this valuable forum and state his point in a more effective manner.

Being a support of Roberts views in general, i hope this seemingly momentary trend will not continue.

Ostrich. Head. Sand.

Alex Witt must surely keep company with the deluded. All indications (like recent history) suggest that there would be an upswing in terror attacks during a transfer of power.

I actually heard a talking head state that Obama should just go ahead and take over the presidency now. CNN's Carol Costello. Ignore the constitution if you feel like it basically.

Their heads are up their ass. They get the job because they look good. And they speak well. That's all. And that's why they love Obama. He is one of them.

My god this is a news reporter ya think she might have a clue very beautiful aslso a bimbo sorry but thats what she is.

Posted by: spcbat [TypeKey Profile Page] at December 3, 2008 9:10 AM

LOL, thanks for the heads-up, Robert ... I was beginning to think I was reading The Onion.

Liberalism is the great enabler for stealth Jihad in the West. Just another example here how utterly clueless the far left MSM is concerning the threat we face. They are free to rant on in their ignorance all they want with our Freedom of the press like this, but we'd just be alot safer if nobody actually heeded their words.

Posted by: revparadigm [TypeKey Profile Page] at December 3, 2008 9:33 AM

On the other hand, we might get better news analyses from Comedy Central, as well.

Just waiting for Hugh to address the inaptness of Ms. Witt's name...

And LoriB, who needs The Onion when one has reality, these days?

Posted by: Vee [TypeKey Profile Page] at December 3, 2008 10:09 AM

So Alex (dim)Witt, as usual another reporter who has not a clue.

I do believe that the only thing required of reporting these days is a pretty face - too bad they don't require that of the men (more than questionably tolerable looking) too since not too much else is coming out of their cake holes either. I have been noticing that a lot of lawyers are being news reporters - sort of makes me wonder why they didn't make it in the field as a lawyer. But, I am not surprised - both professions smack of left wing idiots way too often.

I shouldn't complain though - I never watch MSNBC and if I happen to have on an alphabet soup channel news on TV it is only because I haven't gotten to the channel changer fast enough. Although they do sneak in news during the commercials and that is how I figured they brainwashed our young adults, besides doing it in our schools too.

By the way, does anyone know if the ACLU is being paid by the Saudis? I was wondering why they allow muslims to be bringing back segregation under the guise of modesty when their koran tells them that we are dirty, as are their own women, and that is the reason why they are trying to have segregation back in the schools. And also why there is no separation of church and state when it concerns muslims/islam, but are against it concerning Christians. Incidences of 'dress/pray like a muslim' when there is no making the muslims 'dress/pray like a dhimmi'?

Posted by: R_not [TypeKey Profile Page] at December 3, 2008 10:12 AM

Oh yeah, because there never was an instance of terrorism before George Bush. It was all on him and would stop after him.

How can anyone be that stupid?

Posted by: mcfairy [TypeKey Profile Page] at December 3, 2008 10:43 AM

Barack 'comes in like a lion, but will go out like a lamb...'

The disenchantment period has already started...

One year max...Then out...

Posted by: duh_swami [TypeKey Profile Page] at December 3, 2008 11:02 AM

Normal people would be embarrassed at having such naivety exposed publicly. Instead, MSNBC shoves this in our face, apparently believing we will share their astonishment. Rush has been making big noise about their idiocy.

Posted by: Eastview [TypeKey Profile Page] at December 3, 2008 11:08 AM

I've never seen Alex Witt (or perhaps I have; they are all so mix-n'-match forgettable) but she sounds no different from most of the rest and perhaps is at the Katie-Couric level: when has a syllable been uttered by any mezzobusto, any Smiler and Teleprompter-Reader, who of course in his or her hectically vacant (busy, busy, busy) life, what with meeting with the staff, and putting on the makeup, and being fed the day's headlines, and practicing the particular modulation that news-readers all must mimic, and then in meetings with other big shots, or even attending a well-photographed Charity Ball, and all the rest of it -- when do you expect such people to have time to sit still, and read, and think? They can't do it. They know not more, but far less, than the better-educated and more attentive among their viewers, whom they madden, but who are offered to us, without our say, and without our approval, and there is nothing to be done for the bland money-counting babbitts who run these companies are themselves uninformed and uneducated, and there are very few Fred Friendlys left among them. It's a different journalistic cast of characters in television news from fifty years ago, and of course eveerything esele -- the collapse of our educational system, the Abandonment Of the Word, the insistence that everything can be delivered in a few hundred rapid words, it's a problem in both television and among those comical columnists -- Friedman, for example, or Nicholas Kristof -- who continue to be forced down our throats, continue to be offered up as sages, when their every word betrays ignorance and semidemihemi quavering idiocy.

So let's leave poor Alex Witt alone. No, on second thought, let's put her in fitting company, which means practically everyone in television journalism or "journalism," with a handful of exceptions. And radio is no better. And newspapers just as bad.

I wouldn't call this naivete so much as willful blindness. They thought everything was great under Clinton, ignoring the many times we were attacked on his watch. That 9/11 was conceived and the people brought into the US on Clinton's watch didn't matter. The steps taken by Jamie Gorelick and others to prevent information sharing were irrelevant. All that mattered was Bush's national security briefing a month before the attacks, the one that said terrorists were "determined to strike" inside the US. HELLO? We've been hearing that for twenty years!

I could almost forgive her stupidity if it was followed by a recognition that maybe (just MAYBE) George W. Bush wasn't the source of all the anti-Americanism in the world.
The lady never heard Greeks compare Bill Clinton, the president Europeans want more of, to Hitler.
The people who cannot be forgiven are the bigwigs at MSNBC and all the other network news operations. They hire these peroxide-heads.

Hugh said: They know not more, but far less, than the better-educated and more attentive among their viewers....

I would argue that most Americans with nothing but a high school diploma have more common sense than any Ivy League graduate.

Obama himself said what he is, not what he does, would "change the world." How arrogant, and how racist toward whites. His warmed over liberalism is indistinguishable from his running mate Biden, and his modest talents and experience should not a president make.
The Nazis didn't back off their anti-semitism after Hitler was elected and the Nazis got all their original demands. They just became more anti-semitic. Listen to Pacifica radio if you can stand it. Post-Obama election, it's still as full of the 'ol leftist hate as ever.

Posted by: Max Publius [TypeKey Profile Page] at December 3, 2008 12:04 PM

"They hire these peroxide-heads."
-- from a posting above

Now, wait a minute. Some of these "peroxide-heads" are not dumb blondes, like Mika Brzezinski -- ambitious and clever and calculating, by the way, when it comes to their own careers and self-promotion, but essentially uneducated and self-assuredly unconcerned about their lack of knowledge and understanding -- Mika Brzezinski comes obviously to mind, as does Katie Couric. No, some of them are male, and the males tend to have dark hair, and what's more, often that dark-haired male is paired with that light-haired female, in tedious tandem.

The networks strive for the same demographic and sex appeal. They all strive to be "an equal-opportunity idiocy employer." So be fair. Please.

Posted by: Hugh [TypeKey Profile Page] at December 3, 2008 12:15 PM

From above...Post-Obama election, it's still as full of the 'ol leftist hate as ever.

It's a lot like a zit that is about to burst.

When these 'old leftists' find out that the 'young leftist', is not going to accomplish what the 'old leftist's' want, the zit will burst.

The 'disenchantment period' is already started...

Posted by: duh_swami [TypeKey Profile Page] at December 3, 2008 12:22 PM

Whoops there goes that spinning red light again-- warning! warning! Will Robinson Family; beware you are listening to a dhimmiwit amongst us in the media. No I will try to avoid the blond jokes because it is not a fair representation. But there is nothing new here since most of the media believed Obama would be our savior, our Messiah from those wicked and evil jihadists, never mind the relentless "missing" references to what creates, or precipitates these never ending attacks. The perverted practices of multiculturalism, and political correctness have have left the average American blind to the truth of it all. Yes the media for the most part will not venture there. There media bosses have made that off limits from Fox,CNN,MSNBC,CBS,ABC,and NBC-- yes even FOX will not venture into real causal factors, that of the tenants of the Quran remains off limits which is continuously self defeating and leaves way to many of us blind to what they all should know and understand, all because they believe Islam is just another religion.--AH, the blind leading the blind!

What was her name? Alex TWITT?

Posted by: DTAM [TypeKey Profile Page] at December 3, 2008 3:45 PM

The queen of vapid.

Posted by: Cornelius [TypeKey Profile Page] at December 3, 2008 3:57 PM

Hugh is right. Alex Witt is only a pretty face, a "news" presenter who simply reads what's put in front of her. I'm sure she's a perfectly fine lady outside of the studios, only doing her job as she is instructed. But aiming our darts at her, satisfying as it may be, is like shooting the messenger, with the message in this case being more of the typical Leftwing blather we have come to expect from MSNBC. Our scorn should really be directed toward the news writers and the editors who decide on the day's stories and the spin they receive. And farther back than even the writers and the editors are the owners of the networks, whether they be cable or TV or print. They are the real villains.

Posted by: Eastview [TypeKey Profile Page] at December 3, 2008 4:00 PM

Posted by: Borg

Exactly, Borg. The constitution and the laws don't matter to the leftists if they get in their way. Remember the 2000 election in Florida, the laws concerning vote recounts and deadlines for certifying vote counts didn't matter to the left; they got the left-wing Florida supreme court to overturn them. It took the federal supreme court to over-rule the state court.
Also look at how the Obama campaign completely ignored the campaign-finance laws and at all the fraudulent voter registrations in many states. The left believes that the law only applies to their opponents.

"There had been such a global outpouring of affection, respect, hope, with the new administration coming in, that precisely these kinds of attacks, it was thought — at least hoped — would be dampered down." --MSNBC

Slightly OT but the President and Prime Minister of Russia showed their affection, respect and hope in the President Elect by threatening to put missile bases on the border of Poland. Is it coincidence that Russia made this announcement the very DAY after the election?

Posted by: CTYankee [TypeKey Profile Page] at December 3, 2008 9:35 PM

You know she meant that once Obama was elected she thought they would stop reporting on terrorism, even though all indications were and still are that it will be 9/11 and Beslan every day with Obama's immigration "policy" (driver's licenses for Mohammed Attas, which floored even Hillary), his international plans (Jewish genocide, doubling "aid" to nations who, as McCain understated it, "don't like us very much"), and his domestic policy (turning our cities into banlieues with the enormous, parasitic welfare state for only the lowest common denominator).

I'm glad to see that she finally got that brow lift she so desperately needed. She looked like a gorilla before she got that fixed. I used to watch MSNBC back before 9/11 when all they did was throw together shows constructed out of old NBC stock footage, slavishly copying A&E Biography. They should have stuck with that format.

Posted by: jdamn [TypeKey Profile Page] at December 4, 2008 3:50 AM

I never saw this Witt person because I stopped watching TV several years ago. Scrapple Face and The People's Cube are much more reliable sources of news (better than The Onion, which tends leftish). Scrappleface.com now has a wonderful article on Obama.
