The ever-insightful Diana West finds a throwaway detail buried deep in a Washington Post story: "Islam as B-Matter," by Diana West, December 3:
"A-matter" is newspaperese for the key facts about an event--the "top" of the story. "B-matter," then, is everything else--the extraneous color and details that may be cut from the bottom to fit a story to a page without detracting from the import and impact of the news.In the so-called war on terror (or whatever it's known as), anything to do with Islam as the inspiration of terror is always an extraneous detail. Here's paragraph 12 from a Washington Post story today about Mumbai headlined: "Details Emerge from Sole Arrested Gunman." The paragraph begins with a quotation from an interrogator describing the surviving jihadist's--sorry, "gunmen's"--extensive training.
"He went through different stages of training. At first, it was the recitation of the Koran and lectures about jihad. He was being prepared mentally. Then small-weapons training," Bharti said in an interview. "Then came the hard physical, marine training. At first, Kasab used to vomit. They were taught how to survive at sea, on ground, and how to control thirst and hunger. From a batch of about 25, 10 were handpicked for the Mumbai mission."
Details, details. Recitation of the Koran and lectures about jihad = B-matter. No wonder we're losing.
Indeed.

Excerpt from a 2004 posting that applies to the Washington Post coverage:
"...oh, and, let's just slip in here (the way Woody Allen, in a movie, marches up to the clerk to pay for his magazines and has them rung up at the register: "The New York Review of Books," "The Hudson Review," "Partisan Review," "The Times Literary Supplement," and, oh yes, a copy of 'Slut.'"

From a batch of about 25, 10 were handpicked for the Mumbai mission.
That makes fifteen angry Muslims, trained to survive at sea, on ground and trained to control thirst and hunger that are still with us.
Names, we need names!
They were THIS close to Paradise but their name wasn't drawn out of the hat. They are on the loose, probably somewhere in Pakistan.
How long before they find their way to Britain or the US?

PMK...They were THIS close to Paradise but their name wasn't drawn out of the hat. They are on the loose, probably somewhere in Pakistan.
Yep and I bet there are a good deal more than fifteen of them...

From post above: I was talking to a guyy named wild jew i did not realize he was a racist my apologies bud grow up there are no subhuman people thats how the jihadists think...
There are people on the planet who act subhuman, and indulge themselves in every sort of subhuman depravity...Often called evil.
This is not necessarily racist but it can be.
I don't hate Muslims either, but there are Mohammadans I am not fond of...They are the ones who insist on subhuman depravity. They read it from their books, they preach it in their mosques, and they act it out in the street.
How wide spread is this depravity and subhuman mentality in the Ummah? I don't know, but a lot of Mohammadans seem to be infected...

I am begining to think that no matter the efforts of Robert Spencer, the media refuses to accept the fact that the Koran that is "recited" by the jihadists is THE SAME KORAN THAT IS READ BY MUSLIMS! There is no different version, or story line, or bolded text - it's the same damn book! sheesh... mind-numbingly idiotic!

DUH SWAMI
It was a statement the guy posted in the still inprepared against terror writeing on this web site his comment was he wrotre first how we caused japan and hitler to go to war witrh us it was none of our business basically then called jews and others from the third world sub humans i been to many third world places yes alot of evil but subhuman i beg to differ the things they do animals would not do.
They are unfortunately human and worse bud.
But i still refuse to describe people as he did subhuman cause of race place of origin or religion like he did and if we didnt take on germany and japan we would be screwed.

spcbat...I was not commenting on Wild Jew or your conflict with him...
I was commenting on the existence of people who act subhuman and depraved.
The idea that there are no subhuman persons is noble, but subhuman behavior questions that.
This has nothing to do with racism. Ideology alone can carry the ball, as with Islam, which as you know is not a race, but encourages it's submitters to participate in subhuman activities, because kufrs and apostates are not humans.
God may love all his children, but he has a severe scolding in store for lots of them...

spcbat...I stay away from conflicts with people who are essentially on my side, or are in the same corner.
Anti-jihadists are not clones of each other...There are personalities and ego's, and different levels of knowledge, education, and experience. Everyone has something to contribute.
It's probably better to let some remarks slide.
Once ego sets in, learning stops... :)

NEWSFLASH 1940: Men in gray clothing with firearms and wearing boots have poured over the French, Belgium, Dutch, and Luxemburg frontiers. Airplanes, tanks and artillery are being used against Allied and formerly neutral peoples. It's believed that these attackers may be related to the same groups which attacked Poland last fall. Because the assailants who attacked Norway in April were seaborne, experts and analysts don't believe there is a direct relationship to those militants, but it seems they might be related to the belligerents who crossed the Danish frontier also in April. It's believed that possibly some peoples in Central Europe have been agitated and antagonized by Allied policies. According to anonymous sources 'These people have strong and legitimate grievances against years of Allied oppression'.....HA HA HA.

To admit that Islam is what it is, would crumble the very foundation of Multiculturalism. We sure can't have that now can we?
The "Highway of Death" showed the Muslims there is a limit to the level of Blood we are willing to shed to quell them. We have suffered ever since.

It does take courage to attack "unarmed citizens", these muslim men where to tough, l wonder what would happen if these citizens would of been armed, and fired back?

I agree with you, Zena. These were no cowards as some have said.
We must be more courageous.
If they knew their targets might be armed, then I believe they would have chosen softer targets.
And we must never be soft targets, unerschrocken.
Hey, are you really a warrior princess?

flowerknife: 'To admit that Islam is what it is, would crumble the very foundation of multiculturalism'. Absolutely true and a salient reason for the left's self destructive actions. That's a larger, closer to home and more real threat to them than Islam. It will probably be too late when they realize their error, but unfortunately for us, were sharing the same boat.
