A. You've got the perfect excuse to raise the subject of Islam, and Jihad, in conversation, as American travellers who were on the scene, and who escaped the carnage, start telling their stories in newspapers and on TV and radio talkshows

B. You can refer people to chapter and verse for all the murder and mayhem and show them exactly where it was coming from: especially the killing of Jews and Hindus, because of Islam's virulent antisemitism.

C. You can tell people the real history of how the Muslims invaded India from the 8th century onward, and killed and enslaved people by the tens of millions, and stole or smashed everything they possibly could, even cutting down whole forests in order to get at - and murder - the desperate refugees who had taken shelter there; and that there really are Muslims today, especially in Pakistan, who want to revive the glory days when Islam dominated India and every Muslim had Hindu slaves who were treated like dirt.

You might think so dumbledore, but here in the California, S.F. Bay Area the Mumbai news was a small front page article for two days, way back in the back pages for a few days more. Gay marriage is a MUCH bigger deal than a few “gunmen” shooting people in a city most people have never heard of.

Unfortunately, unless it happens HERE, it didn’t really happen for most Americans – there aren’t many of us awake – yet.

I keep shaking shoulders and kicking boots though – occasionally I see an eyelid flutter.

Mumbai got pretty good coverage here in Australia, from the moment the story broke, on both our national news (ABC - Australian Broadcasting Commission) and in state newspapers e.g. the Melbourne Age. There were about three different stories, all of them quite interesting, in a freebie newspaper aimed at the young, hip city workers, which gets distributed on the buses and trains: my husband picked up a copy.

I don't watch the TV news very often, but the ABC website lists their audio/ video news clips as well as running verbal accounts and they had a ton of stuff: partly because an Aussie guy spent most of the siege of one of the hotels trapped in his room texting messages to the outside world. We're a small enough country that even one Aussie bailed up by jihadists in a hotel is News.

Part of it may also be because India is a fellow Commonwealth country and we have a substantial Indian community, some of whom have been here since the 19th century.

Most of my day-to-day social contacts are with other mums at the school my kids go to, or people at church: I do what I can as opportunity arises.

My parish priest is starting to realize the danger - the story of the Muslim abduction and 'conversion' of those two little Catholic girls, Anila and Saba in Pakistan, which I conveyed to him by giving the links to this site and the original sources, woke him up, I think.

I put a review of Andrew Bostom's 'The Legacy of Islamic Antisemitism' in my church's parish paper; the congregation is between 100 and 200 people, and each person represents a social network, so if some of those people get a clue, it may make a difference. (So far, since last year, I've been able to put in the parish mag the following: a boiled-down simplified version of Islam 101; a review of Mark Durie's book that points out the total contradictions between Christianity and Islam; and a big piece on Bishop Michael Nazir-Ali, the guy who warned the Brits about 'no go' zones and the dangers of sharia creep, after he visited Australia to give some lectures).

My Christmas-card list runs to about sixty people. The family Christmas letter which will be inserted in each card, will contain - in the paragraph that describes what I've been up to this year - an ad for Mr Spencer's books and this forum. Certain people on the list will also be directed to Bostom's book on Islamic antisemitism.

We all have to keep on chip, chip, chipping away.

People, in 2006 Obama went to campaign with his cousin Odenga in Kenya to turn kenya into a "safe-haven" for terriorist to turn Kenya into a SHARIA LAW state. In 2000 ?rememba? seattle WASH it was CLINTON and the DEMS whom attempted to claim that we should accept "globalist' government. This would strip the USA of all of its Sovereignty and it's rights and relagate every US citizen to being servants in their own Nation to someone else. Instead of being governed by WE THE PEOPLE. Well, a few protestors secured our Nations freedom by excersizing their constitutional rights and told the "globalist" to forget it.

What the globalism would do would be to make it possible for 'any" terriorist anytime/anywhere to apprehend "any" US civilian and US military and thru trumped up charges slam the US citizen into the UN international court and thrown in jail to rot without due process, without protection from double jeopardy and without fair trial and no one but no one would be able to do anything about it. The terriorist would not be able to be tried or prosecuted for these criminal actions.

I can vouch for what Dave says. There was more coverage about idiots lined up overnight at the malls to take advantage of the after-Thanksgiving "Black Friday" sales than there was on the Jihad attacks on Mumbai.

I mostly had to turn to cable news for coverage--there was almost nothing locally. I have talked to a number of quite intelligent people who were only vaguely aware of this event, and even those few didn't see that it had any real meaning for their own lives. It was regarded in much the same manner as, say, news of a drought in the Gobi desert would be regarded--a bit sad, but not really about them.

Think of how much "food, drink, medicine, or housing" they could buy for these children with the $60 million bounty on Father Boutros' head. I wonder what the price is on Obama's head, and how much is earmarked for these children, to whom, by the way, Islam actually forbids giving charity.

This is no big deal. They "invited" Bush, too. Islam is a club anyone can join, except for those of whom Allah has deliberately led astray, which is an odd thing for a god to do...

I just read STEALTH JIHAD! Words fail me - it is superb! outstanding! It carried me on and on like a favorite book! I couldn't put it down! It should be required reading in every high school, college, Congress and Senate Office! I hope Obama reads it.

You sold me, angryamerican! I have got to make time to read Robert's new book. What with Christmas coming, I am up to my eyeballs in decorating/baking/cards/shopping/etc, so I do not have the time to devote to such reading pleasures (once I get started on a good book, I cannot put it down until it is finished, because I get immersed in it). I could give up my leisurely JW posting time, but that is asking too much, LOL.

Anyway, I will make a NYR here and now to read it come January, I promise!

I think it's his hairline. Zebibas don't extend all the way back to under one's male-veil. And they're reddish and raised. He must be one of those guys who goes bald on top except for a little patch up front, which in his case goes all the way down to his nose.

This Egyptian cleric's detailed "invitation" looks like it comes straight out of the hadith. Here is part of the translation of his quote:

"...the recently-elected Obama, who is the leader of the Byzantines – he is like the Byzantine leaders in the days of Prophet Muhammad. My message to him is three-fold. First, I invite him to convert to Islam. This is the call of the Prophet and of Allah. Oh Obama – convert to Islam, and you will be saved. I hope that Allah will reward you twice: Once for converting to Islam, and another reward for all those who will convert in your footsteps. If you want glory – you will find it in Islam. If you want honor – you will find it in Islam. In religions other than Islam there is utter humiliation, even if you are the president of the entire world."

Here is another relevant hadith from Bukhari which apparently inspired the cleric:

Sahih Bukhari, Book 1, Number 6 (also see Book 52, Number 191) "[...]Heraclius then asked for the letter addressed by Allah's Apostle which was delivered by Dihya to the Governor of Busra, who forwarded it to Heraclius to read. The contents of the letter were as follows: "In the name of Allah the Beneficent, the Merciful (This letter is) from Muhammad the slave of Allah and His Apostle to Heraclius the ruler of Byzantine. Peace be upon him, who follows the right path. Furthermore I invite you to Islam, and if you become a Muslim you will be safe, and Allah will double your reward, and if you reject this invitation of Islam you will be committing a sin by misguiding your Arisiyin (peasants).[...]""

Another version of the above, in Sahih Muslim, has
"[...] Embrace Islam and you will be safe [...]" --From Muhammad’s Letter to Caesar (Hiraql), Book 19, Number 4380.

Sahih Bukhari Book #53, Hadith #392)
Narrated Abu Huraira: While we were in the Mosque, the Prophet came out and said, "Let us go to the Jews" We went out till we reached Bait-ul-Midras. He said to them, "If you embrace Islam, you will be safe. You should know that the earth belongs to Allah and His Apostle, and I want to expel you from this land. So, if anyone amongst you owns some property, he is permitted to sell it, otherwise you should know that the Earth belongs to Allah and His Apostle."

Sahih Bukhari (Book #59, Hadith #362)
Narrated Ibn Umar: Bani An-Nadir and Bani Quraiza fought (against the Prophet violating their peace treaty), so the Prophet exiled Bani An-Nadir and allowed Bani Quraiza to remain at their places (in Medina) taking nothing from them till they fought against the Prophet again). He then killed their men and distributed their women, children and property among the Muslims, but some of them came to the Prophet and he granted them safety, and they embraced Islam. He exiled all the Jews from Medina. They were the Jews of Bani Qainuqa', the tribe of 'Abdullah bin Salam and the Jews of Bani Haritha and all the other Jews of Medina.
