Shirwa Ahmed: Duly buried
If the story of how an Islamic group denied Islamic burial to the Mumbai bombers last Monday was so important, why isn't this one? If the Mumbai burial story was evidence that at least some Muslims reject the jihad ideology (which it may indeed have been), isn't this story evidence that at least some Muslims, right here in the United States, accept it? And shouldn't that be something to which at least some people are paying attention?
When the Muslim Jama Masjid Trust refused the Mumbai jihadists an Islamic burial, it made the news everywhere. Muqtedar Khan brought it up to me on the BBC the other day, and in response I pointed out that this gesture would have had much greater significance if not for the fact that Islamic jihad terrorists who have carried out suicide attacks and other attacks against Israel have been treated as heroes and given Islamic burials on numerous occasions.
There is also a question of the sincerity of the Muslim Jama Masjid Trust, for reasons I discussed with a commenter in this Hot Air thread.
But in any case, will this story get the same attention from the people who were so heartened by the denial of Muslim burial to the jihadists in India? After all, this is a story about an Islamic jihad-martyrdom bomber being given a Muslim burial in the United States -- and if that isn't enough, add in the little fact that the FBI seems to have pitched in (at taxpayer expense?) to bring his remains back into the country.

(FOX 9)—One of the five men suspected to be a suicide bomber who killed himself and 29 others last October in Somalia, was buried Wednesday at a Burnsville Cemetery.FOX 9 has learned DNA tests have confirmed Shirwa Ahmed was one of five suicide bombers who killed himself and 29 others last October in northern Somalia.
He is also a Minnesotan and a naturalized U.S. citizen.
The FBI helped return Ahmed's remains to his family.
At a Twin Cities cemetery in Burnsville Wednesday afternoon, the suspected suicide bomber was laid to rest.
Shirwa Ahmed, 27, was given a traditional Muslim burial.
Family and friends did not wish to talk about the circumstances of his death.
Community activist Omar Jamal is one of the few who will.
“Honestly I look at him seriously as a victim and not as a criminal, I think of him as a young victim," says Jamal....
Uh huh. Meanwhile, we learned last week that Shirwa Ahmed may have been recruiting jihad terrorists among Muslims in Minneapolis:

In recent months a dozen young Somalis, some as young as 17, have left the Twin Cities, apparently headed back to Somalia where a civil war rages.
Omar Jamal, a local Somali activist, said the families of the young men are frightened.
"The families didn't think, it never crossed their mind, that their kids would have gone to Somalia either to blow themselves up or to join the holy war," said Jamal.
Sources tell WCCO the group suspected of recruiting the young Twin Cities men is know as al-Itihadd al-Islamiya, or AIAI, an organization with known ties to Al-Qaeda. [...]
Canjemi said the Twin Cities Somali community has been a ripe recruiting ground for AIAI for years.
"I believe this recruiting continues on a daily basis," he said.
According to national reports Al Qaeda is enjoying resurgence in Somalia. The FBI said the U.S. government continues to be involved in an active outreach to young Somalis to keep them from being courted by radical groups.
Which may be why the FBI helped bring Ahmed's body back to the States. But will the kuffar's ever-present willingness to help really keep young Somali Muslims in Minneapolis from joining the jihad?

This is so wrong on so many levels.
By showing weakness, the United States is empowering the forces of Terrorism.
They (the Terrorists) will not look at this as a goodwill gesture or a show of respect to their religion, they see it as weakness.

Now, comes a story from FOX today (Hat tip: Blulitespecial) that Somali young men have turned up missing in other western countries as well as Australia. And, look who knows all about it—Omar Jamal, who else. He has got a pulse on the whole world!
I’ve come across 10 to 15 mothers crying because their sons are missing,” said Omar Jamal, executive director of the Minneapolis-based Somali Justice Advocacy Center.
A senior U.S. military intelligence analyst said the number may be even higher, since not all of the families whose sons have gone abroad will report it.
Jamal said the Somali community has seen young men disappear in a number of countries across the world, including Canada, the Netherlands and Australia. Multiple sources within the Somali community have corroborated this account.
You know what strikes me as really telling about Mr. Jamal’s statement? Wouldn’t you think this was such a big deal that if crying mothers were coming to you about their missing sons you might remember exactly who they were and know how many it was—10 women, 11 women, or whatever number? When he says 10-15 “crying mothers” it strikes me as a fabrication. Jamal fabricated his way into the US, so what else is new?
Back to the story.
Intelligence sources confirm that men are missing and not just in Europe and Australia.
A senior American intelligence source confirms that Somalis have vanished in the U.S., Canada, Europe, and Australia, adding that some people from the Caribbean also appear to have left for Somalia. And not all of the people bound for training or jihad in Somalia have a Somali background, the source said. A man who appears to be Caucasian and is aligned with the Somalia-based terrorist group Shabaab can be seen in a recent jihadist video, and another gave an interview with al-Jazeera (though he wore a facemask when doing so). The source said that at least three African-Americans from the Minneapolis area also are suspected of traveling to Somalia to join jihadist groups.Shabaab is the Muslim terrorist group we mentioned the other day, the one which wants to send us to hell.
So, if you are thinking, just let them go off and kill themselves in Somalia, that is well and good unless they plan to return as this article contemplates.
The size of the recruiting network in the U.S. isn’t known, and estimates vary widely. But a major concern is what will happen when these young men return to the U.S. after having undergone terrorist training or participated in combat.Certainly the Department of Homeland Security, the TSA, knows if these men left the country and will be able to stop them when they return. But, I worry about something else, what if they never left?

Isn't he the one who claimed any country that a muslim is buried belongs to islam?
I suspect we may see more and more public islamic burials.

I nominated Director Mueller for 'Dhimmi of the year' here two or three years ago. I guess Robert didn't consider it serious, because Mueller wasn't included on the candidate's list.
The man is a joke...and - to be honest, a grand mediocrity. I remember a press conference shortly after 9-11, when then-Attorney General Ashcroft and Mueller made a joint appearance.
Ashcroft came across as well-briefed, intelligent and articulate; Mueller couldn't string three words together coherently.
Meanwhile, about this suicide bomber, did the tax-payers pay for the transport of the body?

As FreeSpeech noted in these cases the remains can usually be packed in an A4 envelope. Its a bit gruesome but I heard after serious air crashes the practice is to collect everything found into one pile and share it out. So who knows who or what is being buried?

By the way, why can't this case be shown as AN EXAMPLE OF WASTEFUL USE OF AMERICAN TAXPAYERS' MONEY by the FBI, as a means to draw more attention from the general public to what's going on?
Maybe if the threat of jihad, stealth or not, isn't enough to wake more people up to the menace that islam is, letting them know that their tax dollars are being wasted on taking such a scumbag back to the US for an islamic burial might help.

I think I am getting the picture regarding our Homeland Security, IRS, and FBI goals and efforts on terrorists and citizens.
HMS,IRS,FBI Rule 1) Be extra nice to Muslims and unknown illegal immigrants so they will go somewhere else to blow themselves up. Above all, be nice to Muslims and illegals.
HMS,IRS,FBI Rule 2) Be extra tough on Christians, Seculars, Hindus, Wiccans, and all other citizens. Squeeze every dollar out of them that you can get. Keep them in line. If they don't straighten up and fly right, stomp them. (Sarc/Humor)

What kind of parent lets their child go to a country in the middle of a civil war? Doesn't being a refuge imply you need refuge, someplace safe to be?
If it is safe enough to go visit, doesn't that mean its is safe enough to be there? If its that safe maybe refugee status should be revoked?
By the way, I thought to have a proper Muslim burial you had to be buried with something like 24 hours?

The Western media is so clueless. If you knew nothing about Islam (which so many Americans do not) you might think that this young had stopped shaving because he was depressed, and that his not talking to the neighbors meant he had become anti-social.
Instead, he grew a beard when he became *more Islamic*. He stopped talking to the neighbors because he came to regard them as "filthy kuffr".

Notice what Jamal says. He may be concerned about these boys, but he uncritically refers to the violent Islamic insurgency in Somalia as "the holy war". No wonder these lads are "joining up", if this is the attitude of even "moderates" in the community.

Though the quick must reply for the dead, how many of those buried in that cemetery, one wonders want to be lying in the cold, cold ground (it is Minnesota) next to, or near, this Shirwa Ahmed? If it is a cemetery not-for-Muslims only, then the outrage is very great, but if it is a cemetery-for-Muslims-only, and the relatives of the dead claim that Islam is a "religion of peace" and so on, surely they too will be outraged at the burial, at Burnsville, of a homicide bomber, who made such haste to be hoist by his own petard?

By the way, does anyone know what is happening with this story? My guess is that the bodies are still being held by Indian authorities as a matter of forensics.
But then what? Will they wind up in a "potter's field"? Will they be incinerated with the trash? Will they be buried in unconsecrated ground at a crossroads, with a stake through their hearts--oh, wait, that's for vampires.
My guess is that, when publicity dies down, they will quietly get their "Islamic burials".

Well then, if that's the case, why don't we posthumously revoke US citizenship? Surely my tax dollars would be better spent in making such a law that would revoke US citizenship for the Jihadists and all their IMMEDIATE families... Better spent than in bringing that cur back here! (And who knows, there might actually be a 2pct chance that some young man might re-think his stand.)
