A spokesman for the mosque insists the conference organizers are just using their facilities. But no one seems perturbed enough about this "misunderstanding" and "hijacking" of Islam to cancel the conference or appearances by speakers like Anwar al-Awlaki and others named below. "Muslim groups 'linked to September 11 hijackers spark fury over conference'," by Gordon Rayner for the Telegraph, December 27:
The End of Time event at the East London Mosque, which is being publicised on internet sites including Facebook, will feature a videotaped lecture from Anwar al-Awlaki, who is banned from entering the United States after allegedly acting as a spiritual adviser to three of the September 11 terrorists.
Mr Awlaki, who lives in Yemen, has been described as "an al-Qaeda supporter" by the US Department of Homeland Security, which has accused him in recent months of using video lectures to "encourage terrorist attacks".
He is due to deliver a video lecture at the mosque in Whitechapel on New Year's Day. Speeches will have titles such as The sound of the trumpet – the real terror starts.
Other speakers will include Suhaib Hasan, who advocates implementing sharia in Britain, and Khalid Yasin, who has described the beliefs of Christians and Jews as "filth".

The publicity material for the all-day event appears to be a clear reference to the attacks on New York, and features meteors raining down on Manhattan, setting fire to the city and shattering the Statue of Liberty.
It has already drawn comparisons with the "Magnificent 19" poster, which praised the September 11 hijackers and was used to publicise a 2003 event organised by Al-Muhajiroun, whose leader Omar Bakri Mohammed was later banned from Britain.
Dominic Grieve, the shadow home secretary, said: "I would be extremely concerned if the East London Mosque, which has said it is committed to peace, diversity and interfaith dialogue, is giving a platform to such individuals."
In October, Charles Allen, America's undersecretary of homeland security for intelligence and analysis, described Mr Awlaki as "an al-Qaeda supporter, and former spiritual leader to three of the September 11 hijackers".
He claimed the cleric "targets US Muslims with radical online lectures encouraging terrorist attacks from his new home in Yemen".
A trial in New Jersey this month heard that three men accused of plotting to attack a US Army base had watched one of Mr Awlaki's internet sermons, Constants of jihad, the day before they agreed details of the alleged plot.
An informant told the hearing that the message the three men had taken from the video was that: "The time is now."
On his website, Mr Awlaki says: "We will implement the rule of Allah on earth by the tip of the sword whether the masses like it or not".
Publicity material for the event lists other lectures titled Flat line – the point of no return and Your just reward – paradise or hell.
Robin Simcox, of the Centre for Social Cohesion, said: "That these extremist speakers are being given a platform by such an allegedly mainstream mosque, in one of the most Muslim-populous areas in the country, should be cause for serious concern."
Tickets for the event are being sold on the internet by a little-known company called Noor Pro Media Events, based in East Ham in London.
No one from the company was available for comment.
A spokesman for the mosque said: "We didn't organise this event, they are just using our facilities."

Couldn't Mr. Awlaki be permanently removed from the internet and the planet? I'm sure every intelligence agency in the world knows his address, as well as the addresses of thousands of other muslim inciters of death and destruction, islam's "holy" men. The jihad will only intensify unless these evil demagogues are silenced.

Can you imagine the firestorm of outrage and indignation from the MSM and the PC crowd if the Catholic or Episcopalian Church in the U.S. were to rent one of their conference centers to a group like the Klan or the Aryan Nation for a day of speeches and videos? Would the media blandly accept the explanation of a church spokesman that "We didn't organise this event, they are just using our facilities."?

Sounds to me like a target. If we knew the location of a Mosque in Pakistan that had a bunch of top recruiters hard at work within...one in the "lawless area", what do you think would happen?

I read Jihad & Dhimmi Watch religiously (pardon the pun) and this is the first time I felt compelled to register in order to leave a comment. However, as the old adage goes "A Picture is Worth a Thousand Words" as evidenced by this "poster" which as been shrewdly designed to announce this "Jihad Jamboree" is both shocking & disturbing. Basically, it says it all...And, being originally from NYC; having volunteered the day after 9/11 near Ground Zero, I can admit that using an image such as NYC being destroyed & selecting "Our Lady in the Harbor" who is probably the greatest symbol for "Liberty and Freedom" most clearly depicted as standing by helplessly & watching NYC being destroyed; says it all! And, that "Saudi-Britainia" would allow such an event...but I'm not surprised...but when is the Entire "Free World" finally going to wake up & realize that the cancer of Islamic Indoctrination is spreading quickly like a dense fog across the entire globe? And, did anyone here bother to log on this to the website for this event? Tech-wise; it's very impressive, & catchy. Doesn't anyone realize that these "media savvy" Jihadists are using the most modern of technological means in order to turn back the clock hundreds of years & impose Islamic Rule on the planet? When, when, WHEN? is EVERYONE going to wake up and realize the dangers that we are being faced with at this very moment; and that all our choices to achieve & hold on to the basic principles of "Life, Liberty, and the Pursuit of Happiness" a tenet that we all hold so dear, is chillingly very close to being eradicated from our hearts, minds, & lives? Is the rest of the Free World in denial? Can someone explain this to me? This is 1939 all over again; the identical insidious plans; albeit only by a different group of people, imposing a different belief system, executed in a different manner, but no less evil to the core nevertheless; with its motives for world domination & surely the most horrific of end results.

The poster describes faithfully what most Muslims wish would happen. Muslims are trying to achieve by themselves what in their eyes "God" is not doing.
They view the world as a corrupt place and are convinced that it is their duty to wipe out corruption, even if the whole world burns. After all this life is just a mirage for them and their hopes are firmly in the hereafter.
They will go on spreading violence because it is in the ultimate consequence of their belief put in action. The fact that the world is not reacting properly is for Muslims a confirmation and a sign for Muslims that the rest of the world has weak beliefs. Wbsites like Jihad Watch are a voice crying in the desert. No match against the massive, relentless and constant fury of Islam. The religion is, however, stupid and hollow, its tenets a simple and arbitrary mixture of lies and half-truths.
But o the power that it has to mesmerize and fanaticize. millions willing to follow those intellectual aberrations. What can reason do against such blind power?

Yes, it is an affront to my American senses that

I would agree that is 1939 all over again and islam and islamofacism is the hitler/nazi's of our time. That we should learn from history is so true but it is sadly quite the opposite as the world is repaeting the same errors from the 1930s.
One only has to look at Europistan to see what lies ahead for us and with our new president BHO.
We are in more danger than ever.
There are many posters much wiser and educated about islam than I am here at JW and DW. I have learned so much and will continue to learn and try to vigilant, educated and heed the call to speak out against the evil of our time. If you have not read "Steath Jihad" by Robert Spencer or "America Alone" by Mark Steyn, I strongly exhort you to do so. It will help understand even more about islam and how truly evil it is what they are doing and WANT to do.

The Western media has always been distorting the truth. But that should come as no suprise since they are the descendants of the ones who distorted the books of Allah themselves.
The Daily Telegraph under the heading: “Muslim groups ‘linked to September 11 hijackers spark fury over conference’” have made a few lies against myself. The truth of the matter is I am not banned from return to the US. I left the US on my own accord and refuse to return by my own choice. In fact the opposite is true. The US consul encouraged me to return to the US during his visit to me while I was incarcerated. Alhamdulillah Allah has blessed me with living in a blessed land by the witness of Rasulullah. Why should I replace that with life in the US? But I refuse to even visit the US because the US government is not to be trusted as they are liars just like their media.
In the article the US Department of Homeland Security, accused me of using video lectures in recent months to “encourage terrorist attacks”.
Not only in the past months but in the past five years I have not published a single video lecture.
The article quotes Charles Allen, America’s undersecretary of homeland security for intelligence and analysis as saying that I was a spiritual advisor for three of the September 11 hijackers. This is a baseless claim that I have refuted again and again during the FBI’s interrogations and with the media. The US government and the media still insist on spreading this lie around.
He also claimed that I target “US Muslims with radical online lectures encouraging terrorist attacks from [my] new home in Yemen”.
I would challenge him to come up with one such lecture where I encourage “terrorist attacks.”
These are examples of lies made in just one article!

And yet more Islamisation of the UK. As you can see this forthcoming event in a London Mosque equates to Hate Speech that the government has brought in straight from Orwell's 1984. However, as usual our 'authorities' will spectate and do absolutely nothing about it. It will just be overlooked as a small minority of radicalised Muslims who are not in fact true Muslims. Yet again the threat of Islamisation if completely brushed under the carpet. Nothing will be done, as nothing is done when Hate Speech, Anti UK/West, pro Sharia/Islamisation Muslim lawyer and ex Al Muhajaroon leader Anjem Choudary gives one of his speeches at a 'community' centre preaching hatred against the UK.
Nothing is being done to implement the curb on Islamic growth. Robert Spencer speaks of Stealth Jihad, but unless we immediately end the growth of Islam in the West then we can really kiss goodbye to it, as just by population growth Islamisation is inevitable. It really doesn't matter what laws you have in place, as once a demographic becomes the majority and worse still is not loyal to their country of birth, then expect change of government and laws. Even the constitution will be under threat in America, as the majority will just walk over the minority without a care in the world and worse still have access to superior weaponry their Muslim brothers in the middle east don't have...yet.
Negative, hell yeah, but I can't see any positive actions coming out to quell Islamic growth and immigration. It's really not very hard to deduce the outcome if Islam continues to grow unfettered. It's common sense and knowing that Islam has a goal to destroy and take over whereas we have no goal other than complete submission of our culture to a far less superior one because we're 'tolerant'.

Oppressiondetester; You are right; it is painful for the West, with all its puffed-up "human rights" way of thinking, to have to accept that we must, in the end, kill our enemy in a state of war. We must admit that we are at war, and act accordingly. Not nice, and our multicultural friends, the Chinese, Indians, islanders, all kinds of people who have come here for "a better life" can either help or go home. No more supporting hangers-on. They are with us or against us. This truth will become unavoidable.

What religious person in the west can honestly say they worship the same god?
What non-religious person can say they think like we do, or want what we want?
What's the advanced seminar lecture, Kill them or you'll go to hell?
Everything is destruction and death. Have babies so they can become a martyr. Die to live. Kill to make Allah proud. - And some great reasons for it are posted above this one.

I have a question: the date and place of this islamic event is already fixed but are there protests planned against this event????
Altough i do not live in the U.K. it would be great if those who live in London and have concerns about this organize a protest against this and go in front of that mosque on the day that conference begins with protest banners.

Zebrabees l think the elties are terrified of telling the truth, its too scary, but their refusal to label the islamic elephant in the room only gives the islamists more courage to act out their violence. the people need to rise up and take down islamists by the vote, spread the word to your family and friends, and if all fails, we will have WW3 on our hands.

Zena...Warrior Princess...WWIII has already begun...but not in the way people think it will happen....by way of guns and bombs..."Islamism" has taken hold like a creeping vine (and if we don't cut it off like NOW it will ultimately choke us all) i.e. censorship of anything that remotely seems to criticize (even constructively) the Islamic Radical threat to our civil liberties, or the almost schizophrenic fear of a nation or an individual being labeled "politically incorrect" or being called an "Islamophobe" for not accommodating their every whim or demand that they appear to be placing on everything "Western" that does not fall into their category of "Islamically suitable." Unfortunately, what they may lack in military might; they make up for in "spin." They have hired the best public relations people and "spin doctors" that their oil and dirty money can buy. Comparatively, they make all forms of Nazi propaganda look like it was designed by simple minds; but believe me; if you have ever seen (and I'm sure you have) what the Nazis disseminated it was not only repulsive and deceptive, it was successful enough that millions of people believed it or wanted to believe it in order to sustain a sufficient reason to exterminate 6 million Jews, and countless others not of the Jewish faith, and all dissidents to their cause. It gave crazed people enough initiative to feel unashamed about destroying lives, family and property. Now, in this age of technology and rapid-fire ways of putting out information; and photo-shopping pictures to twist the truth, how quickly everything you know and believe in can suddenly change, and you won’t even know how it happened, but there it is!
I have been meaning to read "Stealth Jihad" as the term "Stealth" sums it up; however, I am not living in the USA; but I will have someone bring the book to me the next time I have visitors from the West.
Thank you to everyone for your comments to my post...we must all stick together; but I am afraid that those of us who are truly aware of the dangers of this situation are in the minority. And, yes, we must make others aware of how serious this situation is. I guess the shock of seeing that poster and the meaning it conveys; and remembering how it was on 9/11 (I lived in Manhattan) and the aftermath of that horrible day; prompted me to finally speak up in some way or another.

I second grobari comments. Our American friends don't quite realise what it's like yet with Islam. Put it this way, statistics state there are two million Muslims in the USA. Muslims say six, eight, or ten. I'm more inclined to believe around two, as one thing America has is control of its borders unlike here. Considering there are 300m Americans compared to 60million Brits you have a mere fraction at 0.5% of your population. We have around 7/8% of our population at between 4 & 5million. It means that for America to see what it's like for us, they would need to have 28/32 million Muslims in the USA, with the majority of those in New York and Los Angeles and other major cities like Chicago, Philadelphia or Miami. Considering there are probably around 2million in London that makes up for over 25% of the population of London. Could you imagine the same in New York? Boy, the jews would be pissed off and anti-semitic attacks would go through the roof.
However, going back to rammer, I'll tell you what would happen, all the protesters would be arrested and the protest disbanded. Under what law? Well, there are a few - breach of the peace, Incitement to religious and racial hatred, loitering with intent to commit violence and of course protesting against the Islamisation of the UK(very possibly an offence soon to be equated with treason).
Yes, wonder why no one's doing anything. Wonder why there's really been no furore over Ahmedinejad's speech. The reason is no one gives a sh*t. They also know that any protest would mean they would then be arrested, finger printed, their DNA taken and no hope of getting off this sh*thole of a country, thanks to a criminal record.
I tell you what though. Let's wait until Islam is roughly the same percentage in the USA as it is here. Let's wait until your government passes legislation protecting Muslims and making discussion on Islam very hard. Let's wait when the police are protecting Muslims that march through the streets with signs of Hate towards America. Let's wait and see what happens when American Citizens angry at this, try to do something about it and are arrested by the Police.
America, you really have no idea. You are looking at this whole situation in the UK telling us to do this and do that and although it is a kind thought, our NuLabour government is very quickly turning a democratic country into a fascist state.
Let's just wait as Islam grows in America and then once that time comes, this post will come flooding back. That is if you allow Islam to grow, because the above is inevitable, even though you will state it will never happen. Twenty years ago, I would have said the exact same thing.

The game continues. Muslims here, there, most everywhere call for the destruction of the West, so-called moderate Muslims say and do nothing, Western elites continue to insist that Islam is a religion of peace and tolerance and that this great and noble religion has been hijacked by a few extremists, ubiquitous pc nonsense asserts with self-righteous vigor that any criticism of Islam is ipso facto evidence of hate and Muslims as evidenced by one kind of jihad or another continue to show contempt for the West. Disgusting.
Until Islam is recognized as the unrelenting, supremacist, intolerant and violence-prone belief system which it is, the West remains in significant danger. This danger seems most advanced in the UK, where decades of mindless parody of British culture, disallownce of pride in heritage, a deep lack of knowledge of Islamic tenets by those in charge and mindless immigration patterns have created an optimum environment for jihad in the dar-al-harb. Recognize, however, that Islam is evil, yes evil, and reversing the other rot has a chance of occurring. Don't recognize Islam for the spiritual fascism which it is and not much else will matter over time. A good start in Britain would be an Archbishop of Canterbury who is not a fool and who grasps what Islam is really about.

Wait a minute.....I thought CAIR and yahoos like FibberHim Hooper claimed that Muslims couldn't have pulled off 9/11 because they don't have the brains to do something so complicated.
Muslims knew this and maybe that's why they tried to blame the jews, the average person has more respect for Judism that Islam because of the core value for self-knowledge and growth.
I tend to side with CAIR that Muslims are far too stupid to have been behind this attack , but whom ever the 19 were , they seemed to fear life far more than they feared death.
