Headband: "Martyrdom" -- which can be attained via mass murder
Back when I was in school, we had volunteer service groups -- you know, to clean up the school grounds, take care of handicapped students, etc. In Iran, volunteer student groups are a bit different. They're hoping to gain Paradise by murdering Israeli civilians: "Allah hath purchased of the believers their persons and their goods; for theirs in return is the garden of Paradise: they fight in His cause, and slay and are slain..." -- Qur'an 9:111.
"Volunteer suicide bombers seek to attack Israel," by Ali Akbar Dareini for Associated Press, December 31 (thanks to James):
TEHRAN, Iran – Hard-line Iranian student groups have asked the government to authorize volunteers to go carry out suicide bombings in Israel in response to the Israeli assault on the Gaza Strip. The government of President Mahmoud Ahmadinejad had not responded to the call by Wednesday. Five hard-line student groups and a conservative clerical group launched a registration drive on Monday, seeking volunteers to carry out suicide attacks against Israel.
"Conservative." Yes, conservatives regularly blow themselves up in order to murder their enemies in quantity.
In an open letter to Ahmadinjead, the students said "volunteer student suicide groups ... are determined to go to Gaza. You are expected to issue orders to the relevant authorities in order to pave the way for such action." A copy of the letter was made available to The Associated Press on Wednesday.Volunteer suicide groups have made similar requests in the past and the government never responded to their calls. Some hard-liners have claimed previously they succeeded in secretly sending bombers to Israel, but their claims have never been verified, and there has not been any sign of Iranians carrying out suicide attacks in Israel — raising the likelihood the groups' activities are mainly for propaganda purposes....

I wish some regulars at JW/DW would once in awhile acknowledge the brilliance of the illiterate old psychopathic land pirate named Muhammad. The direct and sentimental sexualization of death in battle is a stroke of genius.

Is this the same student movement, you know, the kids who embrace western culture and democratic values, you know, the ones we should support as they fight to overthrow the Islamic theocracy in Iran, you know, the group that would make a military strike against Iran's nuclear infrastructure such a tragic transgression of decency? Weren't the students of Iran supposedly the "moderates" we so desperately seek?
With Islam, there is only eternal conflict, destruction and death, and all those who subscribe to it are mere thugs operating under a basic gang mentality first put forth by that raping, murdering desert warlord.

Let them go to their deaths the less of them the better.
poetcomic1, no doubt the way Islam has captured and kept millions of humans trapped into it's mime. Certainly there is the perverted genius that has held and holds Mohammedans and there appeasers in its grip. Mohammad the pig was certainly an evil genius.

Before embarking on foreign adventures, they should clean up the nest of appeasers and weak-sisters that their own government has become. Ahmedinejad is nothing but talk and hot air; he and his cronies and supporters should be taken out first. Only when the homeland is secure should they take on the Zionists.

I don't think they sell fake university enrollment cards in Iran. They just print them as required.

If they want to blow themselves up-do it in Iran. Not here. We got stores for Anime, clothes, music and books all in the same place. We don't get time for these stupid MF's.

All dressed up and no place to go...
I can see them standing at the bus station with their "sunday go to meetin'" suicide vests and new nike sneakers, shufflin' their feet, millin' around, trying to out-pose their buddies with the bus fare burning a hole in their pockets, checking the schedule, wondering if the party will be over by the time they finally get there.

On a specific matter, it is very typical of the MSM, which is quite liberal of course, to use the word "conservative" when in fact the term "reactionary" should be the word of choice. There's a huge difference between the two. For instance, Ronald Reagan was a conservative. The KKK is reactionary. Either the MSM knows this or should know it. Personally, I think it does know it and is a not so subtle way of conveying to all that there really is no difference between, say, what Reagan stood for and what the KKK represents-----this is why so many liberals use words like "fascist", "bigot", "racist" or "hater" to describe conservatives and also to shut off debate. And describing an excessively reactionary Iranian clerical group as "conservative", duly noted by Robert Spencer, is just another case in point, a particularly obnoxious one in fact.

If the Iranian gov gave official blessings to these fanatics, would that not be an open act of war?
poetcomic1...Mohammad's genius was that he beat P.T.Barnum to the statement, 'There's a sucker born every minute'.
Mohammad was an expert at ' give the sucker a chance to be a sucker, and he won't disappoint you'...Mohammad built Islam on that model...
In our day Islam is maintained by that model...

As Wellington points out, the use of words by the leftists of the MSM is instructive. Leftists alway assume that there is a core of virtue and integrity in their favored idologies. Thus at present the belief is that there is a virtuous heart of Islam that is embraced by Moslem "moderates"; but that this is under attack either by "conservatives" and "hard-liners" who want to go back to the good old days of the 8th c., or by "radical militants" who are trying to "hihack" the ROP for their own evil purposes. In any case, Islam itself remains good, true, and beautiful; it's the militants and hard-liners who cause the trouble.
This was the same way of thinking of the "fellow-travelers" from the 30's thru the 60's in regard to communism. First they believed that Uncle Joe was really a pretty decent fellow who had to make some nasty choices to keep the real "hard-liners" from taking over. When it bacame clear that Stalin himself was the hard-liner responsible for the murder of millions, then the line was that Stalin had "highjacked" Communism, and that if Lenin had lived, things would have been better. When it was clearly demonstrated that the terror began with the October Revolution, and that the first gulags were already in place by the end of 1918, then it was Bolshevism itself that was the problem. But throughout, the myth was maintained that at heart communism was true, honest, and virtuous.
And so it is with the myth of a moderate, liberal, tolerant Islam: the leftists in the MSM, the universities and think-tanks, and the editorial boards will continue to dismiss those who show it to be a myth as radicals, or militants, or hard-liners, etc. All of those, who were born and raised in Islam, are wrong about Islam; and the Western secular agnostics are right.

This is something the foreign aid people should get on right away.
Here are these impoverished incompetent idiots yearning to die. I say we help them out, ASAP.

Spare them the expense of travel. Strike Iran.
Almost evey article here in the last week are prime examples of the effects the MSM has. Every demonstration feed and fostered by a narrative of well documented opinion.
Israel has an opportunity to expose the peacefull side of Islam so long as they keep up the preasure. Every day stirs the pot with greater vigor ensuring the peace comes spilling out.
The MSM will be hard pressed to explain away the need for National forces to containe so much peace. Especially in light of the real possibility of Egypt shooting to keep its own border sealed.
Hamas is going down, and everyone knows its Irans next move. Europe is more begging for an end than it is demanding. What kind of leverage could the EU expect with Israel when the governments blame them, their press demonises them, while both fund and support those who wish to kill them?
Europe wove this cloth and we shall soon see just how thin the thread and loose the weave.

Does the University of Gaza offer college credit for exchange students in "Suicide Bomb Building 101"?
