Okay, so I am dutch and I know about Harry van Bommel (he is a complete fucking moron btw, embarressing our nation by having to be dragged out of an establishment by his feet because he got too damn wasted or groping a female employee of the jordanian embassay) of the socialist party. I am terribly ashamed to see dutch people protesting against Israel. But I have been terribly ashamed by my countrymen for many years already.

What is better? A democratic country without sentences and practises like: the chopping of hands and feet, crusifixtions, stoning to death, female genital mutilation and the discrimination of non muslim. OR a country who has a doctrine which mandates all of those things and more?

If I look at these people they are choosing the latter and I hope that one day those people will truly undergo those sentences. Maybe then they will see what stupidities they committed.

I've mentioned the booklets at Terrorism Awareness Project before, but they really bear repeating. What we see here is not a coincidence - the ideology of Hamas is closely related to Nazism, as the Nazis practically _created_ the Muslim Brotherhood in the Great Arab Uprising of 1936-1939.

The Israelis left fully functioning greenhouses and other economic infrastructure. They hoped the Palestinians would establish a working civil society existing in peace alongside Israel and that this would be the prelude to further withdrawals in the West Bank and, eventually, two states, Israel and Palestine, peacefully coexisting side by side, and we knew then that it would be a pipe dream.

Sadly, the reality was somewhat different. Palestinians destroyed much of the economic infrastructure and their terror groups immediately began firing rockets and mortars at Israeli civilians across the Gaza border. About 6300 rockets and mortars have been indiscriminately launched at Israeli population centers since August 2005, including more than 600 in the past few weeks.

One would think that of all people the Israelis would have clearly understood the committed determination of groups like Hamas, or Hezbollah who will never sign to any peace treaty with Israel.

the UN, the European Union, the US and Russia, announced they would negotiate with Hamas if it met three preconditions. Hamas was required to renounce violence, accept Israel's right to exist and agree to be bound by agreements previously signed by the Palestinian Authority. These are simple terms for any party even remotely interested in peace, but Hamas refused and was consequently excluded from all talks. They are of course fully committed to the 36 articles of the Hamas charter which is a sick and ugly document that call for essentially genocide against the Jews.

It is amazing to see this creep fool of a Dutch parliamentarian Harry van Bommel doing what he is doing, I doubt that he has the slightest clue about what is Islam, what is the Hamas Charter. He is a puppet for something he clearly does not have a clue about.

I like Hugh's optimism, which he has expressed before, that support for Muslims and Muslim causes is dwindling in the West and that greater suspicion of Islam all around is occurring as well. This in itself is not enough, of course, and awareness of Islamic designs and just how revolting much of Islmaic culture really is will hopefully continue to spread among those in the West, but gains are gains and it is unrealistic to think that victory must come all at once or we're defeated. All this will take a very long time. Most important, short and long term, is greatly diminishing or even ending Muslim immigration to the West.

I've noticed a positive trend lately at JW. There seem to be more and more new posters as a result of this intifada in the civilized world. Hopefully, as Hugh suggests, this will awaken us from our PC induced slumber. However, simply allowing the Muslims to "shoot themselves in the foot" and prove the case about true Islam is dangerous and fool hearty. I know this was not what Hugh implied, and it certainly was not what i was inferring. To move his point further along, it remains incumbent upon each and every one of us to resist this jihad in every legal manner available.

Hugh also mentioned CNN International. Although i don't receive said station, CNN in North America has been outrageously biased against Israel. In fact, the news anchor last night between 6-7pm said that a UN brokered ceasefire would be useless because Israel would never abide by it. He made absolutely no mention of Hamas in any fashion. I recently read an article at "PoliticalIslam.com" regarding efforts to make the dog (media) bark. Thus far, we have been utterly unsuccessful. This is an ideological war, and we are losing badly.

Fine journalism pssh, openly arguing with interviewees that Israel was only "creating more terrorists."

The woman who is marching to the left of Harry Van Bommel in the above video has been identified as Gretta Duisenberg. Duisenberg is a Dutch activist who is married to ECB Banker Wim Duisenerg who was once the president of the Dutch National Bank and is a pro-Palestinian supporter as well as a participator in anti-Israeli activities. The Duisenbergs have been known to fly the Palestinian Flag at their home in the past.

Gretta Duisenberg also came under fire when she announced her intention of collecting six million signatures as part of her campaign to draw attention to the Israeli occupation of the Palestine Territories. She was asked how many signatures she'd been able to gather for the petition against the occupation and replied that 6,000 supporters had signed so far. Critics stated that the figure was clearly an analogy to the number of Jewish victims of World War II.

In a discussion program aired on Dutch TV in November 2005, she understood suicide bombings against Jews. I agree with Hugh - from my observatations of:

1. Forums such as the BBC 'Have Your Say' comments: a large majority of votes are for the sensible ones. And that's just at the BBC!

2. The video footage showing these protests being mainly supported by muslims in kaffiyehs and headscarves.

3. The 'useful idiot' infidels supporting the protests being mainly very young - i.e. at the adrenaline-laden, easily influenced time of life when they simply have the time and energy to protest which the silent majority doesn't. Once these young infidels do a bit of research and realise that non of their treasured freedoms and equality exist under islam, many will wake up. Might take a few years.

4. The nature of many of the protestors - wild-eyed indeed, vicious, frightening, even violent against counter-protestors and property (e.g. burning cars).

5. The inevitable awakening of infidels when faced with the constant barrage of islamist violence throughout the world.

I am more worried about the non-violent jihad via immigration and creeping sharia. But that's just where these intifada-supporters are shooting themselves in the foot.

How dare they invoke the spirit of Anne Frank in their opposition to Israel?

Dani'El, I've enjoyed your posts over the last few days, homophobia aside (although I understand your frustration, as I live in libtardville myself). I also applaud you for going to fight for the IDF. I hate to say it, but CNN was right in a way. Israel is radicalizing Gaza, not by attacking them, but by continuing to feed them, by giving them medical care, by not shutting off their power and dismantling the grid in Gaza, thereby forcing them to build their own from the ground-up, and not blocking all radio, TV, cellular, and satellite communication for a full year every time anything they might find mildly irritating goes over the airwaves. Gazans should be like North Koreans, crawling on the ground, looking for weeds to eat, not because they should be tortured, but because they should be forced to build a real society all on their own like the Israelis did. Then they won't have time for jihad. But they blew it, both sides, and now the only answer is to push out the Gazans, the Judeans and Samarians, and to TAKE BACK THE SINAI.

CTYankee, how dare they invoke Anne Frank when there were would-be pogroms in London and Antwerp just this last week. The Israel = Nazism meme is the sickest type of projection. Thank God you always see it alongside people dressed as homicide bombers so decent people will be duly repulsed.

I have been reading blogs, articles, ezines, etc for the past week and I shake in my fear. Fear giving into fierce anger! People like jaz.. not even worth arguing with, mindless idiots like him/her will only be subjugated if the sneaky jihadis and their supporters gain a stronger foothold and overcome us all. I, for one, will not go down without a fight. Even living in a military town in the great south of our great Nation, I still find their supporters. Von "boobhead" Bommel is not an anomaly but part of the norm of the Politically Correct apologists all over the world! His ilk is everywhere, the enemy within and thus should be rooted out and gotten rid of. They are an enemy of the state, make treasonous comments, support any party that would advocate the overthrow of your government and/or constitution, threatening the very fiber of your nation....is an enemy!
Whether we want to admit it or not, we are in a GLOBAL WAR...not just on terrorism but against the overthrow of every government in the Western world...it used to be called Cold War. This is World War III, this is another chapter in the Crusades! And THEY brought it to us! People like Von Boobhead only help further their cause.
It will only end for THEM when they meet their objective and those that supported them will be sitting there with their heads in their hands wondering what they have done. Only then will they realize that they have lost everything! Socialist supporting the Muslim Jihad is a joke, there is nothing inherently political in the muslim movement, it is about their RELIGION, for that governs ALL!

Dear Jaz,

If Israel were in fact the new Nazi Germany they could have easily exterminated the Palestinians long ago and before a few Muslim nations had nukes and then we wouldn't be having this conversation.

As a first generation Dutch Canadian and who went to school with a Van Bommel, Mr. Van Bommel is a disgrace to Van Bommels', the people of the Netherlands and people of Dutch origin everywhere.

Perhaps Jaz would like to explain to us the Palestinian massacres in the 1970s perpetrated by Jordan and Syria where more Palestinians were killed in one shot than even comes close to the number of Palestinians killed since 1948, including the current military action.

King Hussein of Jordan did not worry about his disportionate military strength and slaughtered thousands of Palestinians in a few days - solved his problem though. Arafat moved on to terrorize Lebanon. But hey it's OK when Arabs slaughter each other apparently.

How many innocent civilians have died or been wounded whilst Hamas and Fatah have been gunning each other down like Mafiaoso types these past few years? Where are the images of Palestinian children shot in the crossfire? Better yet where did all the aid money go over the decades? Gaza and the West Bank should look like Vegas with all the money poured into over the decades. Oh yeah, Arafat's widow is having a gay old time in Paris with a large chunk of it or wasn't Abbas trying to nab some of that back?

The vote for Hamas was a vote for further victimization. The Palestinians of Gaza chose a government that openly declares war as its chief policy against a country it doesn’t recognize. As long as Palestinians with their vote choose those who live by the sword rather than the olive branch of peace, they all will continue to live miserably and die by that sword.
