War is Deceit, and French public television is lending a hand. "French TV claims photos from 2005 showed damage from Israel's Gaza operation," from Haaretz, January 6:
French public television network France 2 on Tuesday revealed they had aired photographs that allegedly showed destruction caused by the Israel Air Force during Operation Cast Lead, which were in fact taken during a different incident in 2005, one in which Gaza civilians were killed by an explosion caused by militants in the Strip.
The footage aired on Channel 2 on Tuesday afternoon showed dozens of dead bodies, including Hamas gunmen and citizens, which the channel said were killed by an IAF bombing raid on January 1st. It later came to light that the channel had instead aired footage of the devastation caused after a truck full of explosives blew up in the Jabaliya Refugee Camp.
It's much easier to air a hollow apology after the damage is done than to ensure accurate reporting in the first place:
A news editor at France 2 told Le Figaro Tuesday that they had "made a mistake by airing those pictures, which he said depict events from 2005.

Sorry for an unrelated, off topic post...
I've been agitated and disheartened by all I have seen regarding this latest middle east miasma.
Things have heated up beyond belief, and I do believe we are on the cusp of a serious outbreak of violence on the streets of America.
I've been coming here for nearly a year, and I greatly appreciate the scholarship of so many veteran commenters.
I've noticed since the conflagration so many new posters, which I assume must be long time lurkers, as they, too, are so very aware.
As always, I am beyond impressed with the knowledge and fortitude of this site, its author(s) and contributors. You keep me sane.
Thank you all. G-d Bless Israel, and keep her safe.

Whatever...Be it 2005 ,1975 or 2025.....When militants make their own children shields, the IDF IAF action is JUSTIFIED. What do they expect...Just becasue militants use strategy of hiding behind kids ...the IDF lets them go off....If they stand up and fight like a man...without resorting to such cheap strategy...there is no other way out but for IDF to do what they do. They (Islamic fanatics) are more responsible for the death of their kids rather than the IDF. But then I am talking about Islamic fighters...who are taught that cowardly war ( jihad) is way of life. I salute the Israeli army and people for standing up alone to a group of violent neighbour countries with such courage and determination. Too bad Indians have not yet decided to do the same.

France 2 was involved in the shabby cover-up of the Muhammad al-Dura affair which was shown to be a complete dodge on their part. They're guilty and side with the enemy.
Now they're just helping Hamas here with their misleading garbage.
Can France 2 please be fired?
France 2 - you've just had another major FAIL. Well done.

Derak, I think we all feel something big and violent coming, and soon. My daughter was waiting for us to show up in the Plaza in Kansas City, and she found herself surrounded by pro Hamas demonstrators who did not look kindly upon the star of David hanging around her neck.
I don't know how long you have been lurking, but if you get a moment, read this link about one of the many contributors on these threads:
Coming here after having my mind assaulted by the media is sweet catharsis. It is getting easier to identify the batshit crazies, which helps, too.

Don't fret this none, my fellow travelers, since Orwell's 1984 is alive and well.
So, the bet is on: Which country will fall first to their new zombie masters?

Approximately two years ago I traveled through much of France in the winter backpacking on a tight budget. I purposely made trips to the Islamic parts of various cities.
The sights were bleak and disturbing.
Islam stunts the vast majority of Muslims and leaves them in that stunted state at a complete loss to develop while their consciousness submurges in the muck of falsehood and self-dishonesty. All countries had better get their immigration policies in order.

This is just an honest mistake. In France, newsrooms don't label their footage by date and the editor works without any corresponding information explaing to him what the footage actually pertains to. How else could this mistake have happened?
At least the editor gave an apology leaving his viewers with the impression that the footage was actually of an Israeli massacre at an earlier date.

"At least the editor gave an apology leaving his viewers with the impression that the footage was actually of an Israeli massacre at an earlier date."
-- from a confusing sentence in a posting just above
What I assume you meant to say was this: the footage was not of some putative Israeli massacre, either now, or previously. It was, in fact, footage of one of those "work accidents" with which we are all by now so familiar, in which a truck full of explosives in the possession of Hamas, and clearly intended for use against Israel, instead blew up, killing many Hamas people and, we are told, some civilians, although since "civilians" in Gaza enthusiastically support terrorist attacks and random rockets into Israel, one wonders what the correct definition of a "civilian" in this case should be.

(I think that was sarcasm Hugh.)
Let this be a lesson to all Jews out there.
The time to make Aliyah is NOW!!!!
Learn the hard lessons of the holocaust and get into Israel while you still can.
With da Bama in there it could get more difficult.
I've heard Jews here in San Francisco say, yes there's anti-semitism here, but we also have friends who blah blah.....sound familiar?
Our father's in Europe said the exact same words in the 30's.
Sell all and do it today!!
Go IDF!

I think this has happened before as well(showing outdated video footage of 'supposed' Israeli atrocities).
A few of my muslim friends are absolutely frothing at the Israeli liberation of Gaza. hahahaha. It is funny to see their reaction when they know that the majority of the civilized world supports the Israeli action, including me. Just a few weeks ago these guys were talking about how Hamas was such a great fighting force, and now Hamas can't even save themselves. What a joke these Islamic warriors are. So far the count is 600+. Very good but could have been better. This is an average of 50 terrorists killed per day. It is better for Israel to take out 20 terrorists per missile as the cost per kill rate goes down. Contrast this to the US strategy in Pakistan where the US is using multi-million dollar missiles to kill 2-3 people at most. This is clearly not an effective strategy. The US needs to take out at least 15-20 Islamic shitheads per strike.
How many Muz does Francistan have now? Anybody know. And who is the idiot who allowed them in.
Ravi Trivedi- I too am frustrated at our governments pathetic response. That stupid chalte hai, Hindi-Chini-Bhai-Bhai, Muslim-Bhai-Bhai attitude has to stop. The latest I heard was Pakistan 'rejected' the evidence as it was not 'credible' enough. This only after 24 hrs. SAD NO?

I don't know if it's just me but I'm getting sick to the back teeth of looking at staged photos of Palestinian children covered in blood on the front page of the free London papers, every damn day.
The press hates Israel, and I smell a conspiracy. They are far too quick to make frontpage news out of rumours and hearsay from Hamas (or un-named "Palestinian medical sources"), presumably because they don't have anything "newsworthy" to publish.
I pray for a swift and decisive victory for the IDF, for everyone's sake.

The mainstream media is corrupted and unreliable.
I watched coverage the other day where a man was running to an ambulance with a what looked like a bundle of rags. He purposely covered up the "child's" face. I would swear there was no child in the bundle. The man looked a lot like the guy from the staged "dead baby" photos previously seen.
The CBC was talking on the phone to a "Canadian" Palestinian, that is, a young woman who married an islamic man. She was moaning on and on about the atrocities, the holocaust perpetrated on the poor Palis, how they had no food, no electricity etc. etc. In the middle of the interview her phone was suddenly disconnected, I imagine to give the idea that she was cut off buy some fresh catastrophe. The whole interview made me sick.

Jihad' mandatory for every Pakistani if India attacks, says Fatwa
http://in.news.yahoo.com/139/20090106/874/twl-jihad-mandatory-for-every-pakistani.html
Tue, Jan 6 01:00 PM
Lahore, Jan.6 (ANI): Amidst international efforts to tone down the rising tension between India and Pakistan, religious groups in Pakistan have decreed that 'Jihad' or the 'holy war' would become mandatory for every citizen of Pakistan if India wages a war.
According to a 'fatwa' issued by an all parties' conference, "Jihad will be mandatory for the Pakistani nation in case India attacks the country," the Daily Times reported.
The participants in the all party meeting also demanded the Organisation of Islamic Conference (OIC) to issue a declaration condemning India.
Expressing concern over the current political scenario, the joint communique opined that the two major political parties of the country should not create difficulties for each other, as it would worsen Pakistan's current crises.
The meet was attended by a number of noted religious scholars and heads of various religious and political parties, including the Pakistan Muslim League-Nawaz, the Tehreek-e-Insaaf, the Sunni Tehrik, the Mustafai Tehrik, the Jamiat Ulema-e-Pakistan, the Minhajul Quran, the Nizam-e-Mustafa Party and the Jamaat Ahle Sunnat. Freedom of the press means that they are also free to lie, or cheat, or misrepresent, at any given time, or all the time.
Truth in the media is an oxymoron.
So it is up to us to mine the internet, to 'sift the gold of truth from the heavy and ugly black sands of media muck...
Personally I avoid MSM and don't buy from their advertisers.
One of my many, many x wives, made a profound statement (once), that needs repeating...
'Never buy anything advertised on television'.
That's sage advice and I long ago took it...

And over 800 comments if you read French.

The nerve of France 2 and every other media outlet, claiming that they even have any photos from Gaza. Israel is keeping the press out of Gaza. They learned their lesson from Lebanon, which signals to me that they finally understand that much of the supposedly civilized world is against them, regardless of what they say.

France 2 apologized big times and admitted that their administration were fooled and given wrong information.
This huge mistake just shows how the news in France are manipulated. No one is verifying the authenticity of the information..... just when it is talking about the Palestinian side . But it was coming from the Jewish side , it will be a different ball game.
More than 14 attacks against jewish sites in France have already taken place . one young jewish girl was hurt in her high school. The medias are almost silent , just a few lines at the bottom of the page.
Alliot Marie had to issue a warning against the rage of antisemitism in France.
This is a bad sigh..... very bad....

this France 2 affair has been judged, so why the need to put it on these events, I also see there an attempt to twist the info !!!!!
I wasn't in France for the last "new year" reveillon, so I can't tell if these "pics" described what happened, but these kinds of riots and cars burnings happen each new year.
I suspect that people that want to get rid of their old cars, without having to pay for it, leave them on the rioters path
Mr Borg, can you provide better sources than "blogs" to witness your suppositions, cause, these might also be a manipulation for "persuasion".
Funny that I didn't saw these events on the spanish and portugese Tv either, and that I didn"t heard a word of them on the radio, when I came back
so Caution must prevail

because France 2 did it again , and it speaks alot about their code of ethics

no these things happened, it's not in our heads , they plundered a shop and burned cars after the rally . TV talked about it

What taquia! Jihad is already mandatory in Pakistan secretly.
I have met many Pakistani - they all fast for few hours during ramadan and eat like pigs after 5:pm. My point is, if they fast they believe in the islamic lies and they are jihadist/terrorists by definition.
Muslims believe that it is the duty of every muslim to be a terrorist or jihadist (same thing).
