Should've stuck to cutting hair
He may be dead, but those jihadis who recruited him are still on the loose in Washington, no doubt recruiting others. "An American Jihadi in Somalia and His Washington Friends in al Qaeda," from the Jawa Report, January 13:
We reported last month that Washington state jihadi Ruben Shumpert (a.k.a. Amir Abdul Muhaimeen) was recently killed in Somalia fighting for the al Qaeda linked al Shebaab. You'll recall that Shumpert actually called the FBI from Somalia mocking their efforts to capture him. All's well that ends well, eh?The group has now released a "biography" of Shumpert which recounts his childhood in a rough neighborhood, how he converted to Islam in jail, and how he eventually went to Somalia for the jihad. You can read the entire bio here.
But perhaps the most important piece of the story is an admission that Shumpert turned to the Salafi strand of Islam after he met with some Muslims in Washington who had recently returned from fighting the jihad in Chechnya:
Allah guided him to the path of righteousness, when he met some brothers who had returned from Chechnya. He became acquainted with them, and they provided him with some educational and jihadi video recordings. Our knight was very fond of Shaykh Abu Musab al-Zarqawi, may Allah have mercy on him, and he hoped to join [Zarqawi] in Mesopotamia.
In the bio we learn that these friends were not the Somalians who later convinced Shumpert to heed the call of Zawahiri and join the jihad in Somalia.
So, who are Ruben Shumpert's friends who had been to Chechnya and are they still on the loose in Washington?

Do clarify, Raymond--the references are to Washington state, and not to Washington, District of Columbia, our nation's capital. Shumpert, it seems, was a Seattle, Washington barber.

I'm sure his friends are not so rare. Those friends who had been to Chechnya each have two friends and they each have two friends. They are here now among us, snug as bugs in rugs. Probably all tired out as puppies today from howling in the Jew hating Jackal marches.

in view of your final remarks in your 7.20 pm posting.
Very good reason for the Resisters of Jihad and Sharia to observe, observe, observe all those 'jackal marches', as you put it, and video every rage-filled face on view, also taking down names (of Muslim speakers, organisations, mosques, etc) where such are provided, especially when said speakers, and representatives of mosques, islamic schools, and so on, openly proclaim Jihad against Jews.
Frankly, the police should have authority to cancel marches in which a significant majority of marchers are concealing their faces (by keffiyehs or by Muslim female face-coverings).
Failing that, any such persons who are masked, and who while masked are seen damaging or threatening to damage property, assaulting or attempting to assault anyone, or verbally inciting to murder (such as by shouting 'Kill the Jews!'), should be arrested, charged, stripped of their face-mask, photographed, fingerprinted, body-searched and background-checked (especially against the criminal and social security and immigration databases).

Barbers are usually power freaks...when you sit in 'their' chair, 'they' are in control...
They put a sheet around you and attack your hair with shears, and an electric shaver...Just like they do sheep.
I can't imagine letting Ruben who morphed into Amir get close enough to touch anything...more less come at me with shears and a straight razor.
But since I am duh swami, I can't imagine shaving or cutting my hair anyway...It's not religious, I'm just to cheap...

I don't know about other places, but I believe that in California USA at least, wearing a mask in public is against the law unless it's Halloween or like function...

I haven't the words to express how much I agree with this! This is the West. This is our cultural home turf, and frankly, I find masked faces to be scary.
This is the way the men hide their faces when they are up to some monkey business, with airplanes, airports, target practice on living non-combatants, that kind of thing.
I think we should have signs in public places which offer services (restaurants, etc.)Which read: No Shoes, No Shirt, No Face, No service!

I was thinking that today when I was riding my bike in ten degrees. I was thinking that even in that circumstance facemasks are just wrong. People should totally be arrested for wearing them. And Muslims should be in solitary in prison. Islam seems to be communicable among convicted criminals.

I wrote to the Washington Governor (Gregoire), WA State Patrol and Seattle Police to ask if Islam/Jihad was on their radar. I included excerpts from JAWA. And as I have been in contact with mappingsharia (D Gaubatz), offered to get the law enforcement folks in touch with skilled trainers to provide meaningful training in identifying jihad cells and Muslim Brotherhood networks.
Not holding my breath for a response...

Darn this frightens me, I live in the NW.
There was another Jihadi attack of a Jewish charity in late July in 2006. (Weird, I thought that was last year, I might be thinking of another incident, though the name Haq sounds familiar, I think I'm just misestimating time.)

Goob, loved your remark about a barber being under-employed in Seattle. How true. Ok, correct me if I am wrong. Freedom of speech, aka marches etc, are legal as long as it's not to insite a riot. From what I viewed on T.V. and sites on the web, there was definate cause to insite a riot. As for as Seattle, I have been there many times. It's the protest capital of the U.S. Here is a perfectally rational idea however would never be placed into law. Companies that hire illegals are suppose to be fined, correct. Well I suggest states that have sanctuary cities should not receive federal funding. These sanctuary cities are hiding all sorts of terriorists. Of course Madam Speaker would never even let a bill like that come before the House. hmmmmmmmmm
