Just when you thought Hamas-linked CAIR couldn't get any more despicable: even when Muslims commit a brutal and gratuitous act of violence, CAIR claims victim status.

Said their attorney: “Had their names been John or Bill, Randy or Jason, I don't think these charges would be standing here today. Because of the Arab ethnicity, I think these charges were brought with the racial animus behind it." In reality, had their names been John or Bill, Randy or Jason, they'd have been charged with assault and tried for assault, and there might be a news article or two about brutality in high school football, but there would be none of the media attention or hypocritical self-righteousness that we're seeing in this case.

More on this story. "CAIR defends football players who assaulted quarterback saying charges based on racism," by Matt Lacy in the Greeley Gazette, February 7:

The Council on Arab Islamic Relations is defending four Michigan High School football players who ignored a referee and assaulted a quarterback, saying the charges are based solely on their race.

On Oct. 21, during a football game between Star Academy and Westland Lutheran High School in Dearborn Heights he quarterback for Westland planned to bow his knee to end the game with a 48-6 victory.

Referees reportedly instructed players not to have contact after the snap. While the quarterback, P.J. Kruse was taking the knee, Star players burst through the offensive line and threw him to the ground. During the ensuing melee, Kruse suffered a grade three concussion.

Following a three month investigation into the incident, The Wayne County prosecutor filed aggravated assault charges against Star Academy seniors Mohamed Ahmed, Fanar Al-Alsady, Hadee Attia and Ali Bajjey.

The attorney for the players, Nabih Ayad said the charges were based solely because the players race. CAIR-MI, the Arab Civil Rights League and the NAACP have sent the prosecutors a letter asking for all of the charges to be dismissed.

In a news conference Jan. 24, CAIR said there was new video that said the incident was “greatly exaggerated” and that no charges would have been filed happened if the players had been any other religion. At this time the organization has not released the supposed video that vindicates the students.

CAIR Executive Director Dawud Walid said “We believe that from the very beginning that, if these young men may have been of a different ethnicity, of a different religion, different skin color, that Dearborn Heights police officer most likely would not have been so aggressive in the means in which he carried out his investigation.”

Ayad said “Had their names been John or Bill, Randy or Jason, I don't think these charges would be standing here today. Because of the Arab ethnicity, I think these charges were brought with the racial animus behind it."

He went on to describe the event as simply a post play “skirmish” that frequently happens in football games.

Wayne County Prosecutor, Kym Worthy issued a statement denying CAIR’s allegations, saying the department had a strict policy against allowing race or ethnicity to influence any part of the charging process.

Defending the charges, Worthy said, “Our investigation in this case includes a video tape which captured the incident. After a review of the evidence, we have charged the people involved in this incident with the appropriate charges.”

Robert Spencer with Jihad Watch said Ayad’s statement trivializing what happened was incredible. “Really? Players commonly give their opponents concussions in non-game situations?”

Spencer pointed out that if the situation were reversed with non-Muslims assaulting a Muslim student, CAIR would be demanding the players face hate crime charges.

“In this case, they're trying to portray some thuggish Muslim footballers as victims, both to advance their Muslim victimhood narrative, and to try to intimidate law enforcement officials into being afraid to charge Muslims with anything, for fear of being charged with racial or ethnic or religious bias.”

CAIR’s reaction to the incident follows on the heels of similar incidents where the group has tried to play the victim card.

Following the FBI’s arrest of Sami Osmakac, a Muslim from Kosovo who was a naturalized American citizen, CAIR suggested that authorities may have used entrapment in the case.

Hassan Shibly, executive director for the Council on American Islamic Relations said, “The weapons and explosives were provided by the government. Was he just a troubled individual, or did he pose a real threat?" After Shibly’s comments were reported in the alternative media, CAIR backed down saying they would not pursue the entrapment allegations.

During a series of recent firebombings In Queens, New York CAIR quickly claimed that the bombings were caused by Islamophobia.

While a Molotov cocktail was thrown at the door of the Al-Khoei Islamic Foundation houses one of the most prominent Shiite mosques in New York, the assailant also firebombed a house of a black Christian couple as well as another house which served as a Hindu place of worship.

Following the attacks CAIR called for police to increase patrols around Mosques, however they did not call for similar patrols around houses of worship for other faiths.

Spencer said CAIR’s reaction reveals that the group will not hesitate to use any event to their advantage to portray Muslims as victims in this country.

“CAIR did not mention anything about the Hindus or Christians when they issued their release. This just shows how self-serving their claims of victimhood really are,” Spencer said. “They called for increased police patrols against mosques, but they didn’t say anything about calling for protection for Hindu or Christian places of worship.”...

Yesterday afternoon Human Events posted my piece about recent shameful events in New York:

The mainstream media, led by the New York Times, and the Islamic supremacist Hamas-linked hate group the Council on American-Islamic Relations (CAIR) are doing all they can to whip up a frenzy about the NYPD’s showing of a relatively tepid but accurate counter-terror film, The Third Jihad, to police officers.

Lost in the hysteria is the question of whether there is anything inaccurate or false in the film – yet those who are demanding apologies and reeducation from the NYPD have demonstrated not one inaccuracy in it. No one who is protesting against this film is going beyond the claim that it is “Islamophobic.”

New York Mayor Michael Bloomberg immediately apologized, saying that showing the film to New York police officers manifested “terrible judgment.” Police commissioner Raymond Kelly apologized also: “I offer my apologies to members of the Muslim community, in particular, who would find the film inflammatory and its airing on department property, though unauthorized, to be inappropriate.”

In a sane world, Kelly and Bloomberg would not be apologizing at all. They’d be saying, “Yes, we showed the film, and we’re going to keep showing it, and what of it? If the Muslims in New York are upset about it being inaccurate, let them demonstrate its inaccuracy by taking positive steps to fight in their own community against the stealth jihad activity that the film documents.”

For the whole controversy is predicated on the assumption that The Third Jihad is whipping up hysteria about a non-existent threat. In reality, it covers much the same ground that I cover in my book Stealth Jihad, in which I show that the agenda of infiltration and subversion on the part of the Muslim Brotherhood and its allied groups is very real.

In a captured internal Muslim Brotherhood document, Brotherhood operatives in the U.S. are told that they “must understand that their work in America is a kind of grand Jihad in eliminating and destroying the Western civilization from within and “sabotaging” its miserable house by their hands and the hands of the believers so that it is eliminated and God’s religion is made victorious over all other religions.”

And at a Muslim event in California in 1998, CAIR cofounder and longtime Board chairman Omar Ahmad was quoted as saying: “Islam isn’t in America to be equal to any other faith, but to become dominant. The Koran should be the highest authority in America, and Islam the only accepted religion on earth.”

Nor are these isolated statements. Yet the initial New York Times article about the showing of this film, as well as all the coverage that has followed, was based on the assumption that no Muslim in the U.S. believes or acts upon such ideas. And the Times deplored that “at least 1,489 police officers, from lieutenants to detectives to patrol officers, saw the film.” Apparently they will all need to be reeducated.

Instead of considering whether or not the film is accurate, the mainstream media has scolded Bloomberg and Kelly for their failure to reach out to New York’s Muslim community. But here again, in a sane world, the Mayor and the NYPD would not be expected to reach out to the Muslim community and prove their good will. The Muslim community would be reaching out to the Mayor and the NYPD, eager to prove its good will. And the Mayor and the NYPD would be telling Hamas-linked CAIR that its counterterror cooperation was not enough, instead of letting this execrable Islamic supremacist Hamas front dictate New York City’s counterterror operations.

But now CAIR smells blood, and is going in for the kill. They’ve announced that Kelly’s apology was not enough, and are calling for his resignation. They’ve already succeeded, courtesy of Barack Obama’s compliant Justice Department, in eliminating any truth about Islam and jihad from national FBI training, and are now trying to eliminate it everywhere.

The outcome will be a cadre of agents and police officers full of politically correct nonsense that will render them clueless, complacent, weak and supine in the face of jihad activity. And so the jihad in the U.S. will advance unimpeded.

And so New York, by means of this controversy, is on the verge of taking yet another decisive step toward completely banning the truth about jihad and Islamic supremacism, thereby rendering New Yorkers, and all Americans, more vulnerable than ever to that jihad.

Another defeat for the freedom of speech and another victory for Hamas-linked Islamic supremacist thugs -- courtesy the U.S. Military. "CAIR pressures retired general, critic of Islam, to back out of West Point event," by Caroline May for the Daily Caller, January 31 (thanks to Pamela Geller):

The Council on American-Islamic Relations announced Monday night that it had successfully prevented retired Lieutenant General William G. “Jerry” Boykin from speaking at an upcoming prayer breakfast at the U.S. Military Academy at West Point.

“We welcome Mr. Boykin’s withdrawal from this event and hope that the speaker who replaces him will offer cadets a spiritual message that promotes tolerance and mutual understanding,” said CAIR National Executive Director Nihad Awad in a statement.

West Point initially balked at the calls to remove Boykin — a former military intelligence officer — from the event.

Lt. Col. Sherri Reed of West Point told The Associated Press that cadets are “purposefully exposed to different perspectives and cultures.”

“The National Prayer Breakfast Service will be pluralistic with Christians, Jewish, and Muslim cadets participating,” Reed said. “We are comfortable and confident that what retired Lt. Gen. Boykin will share about prayer, soldier care and selfless service, will be in keeping with the broad range of ideas normally considered by our cadets.”

Boykin backed out of the event on his own volition, according to a report from Fox News.

The retired lieutenant general has been on CAIR’s radar for casting Islam in a poor light, specifically in speeches in which he analogizing the War on Terror to a war against Satan....

The mainstream media and the Islamic supremacist Hamas-linked hate group CAIR are still doing all they can to whip up a frenzy about the NYPD's showing of the film The Third Jihad to police officers.

Lost in the hysteria is the question of whether there is anything inaccurate or false in the film -- no one who is protesting against this film is going beyond the claim that it is "Islamophobic." In a sane world, Kelly and Bloomberg would not be apologizing at all. They'd be saying, "Yes, we showed the film, and we're going to keep showing it, and what of it? Also, in a sane world, the Mayor and the NYPD would not be expected to reach out to the Muslim community and prove their good will. The Muslim community would be reaching out to the Mayor and the NYPD, eager to prove its good will. And the Mayor and the NYPD would be telling Hamas-linked CAIR that its counterterror cooperation was not enough, instead of letting this execrable Islamic supremacist Hamas front dictate New York City's counterterror operations.

But instead, we get more inverted reality coverage: "Really? Bloomberg Says Anti-Islam Film Flap Hurts NYPD's 'Credibility' With Muslims," from Gothamist, January 27:

Top cop Ray Kelly and his spokesman Paul Browne have been on the defensive all week after they were caught lying, or misremembering, the details of Kelly's involvement in an Islamophobic propaganda film that was screened on a continuous loop for over 1,300 officers. Asked again about the controversy yesterday, Mayor Blooomberg told reporters, "Anything like this doesn’t help credibility. Ray’s got to work at establishing, or re-establishing, or reinforcing the credibility that he does have [with the Muslim community]. In other news, the NYPD has credibility with the Muslim community?

Not so much, says Cyrus McGoldrick of [Hamas-linked] CAIR-NY, a group that advocates for Muslim civil rights and has called for Kelly's ouster. "This controversy has moved beyond an issue of poor judgment in the use of an Islamophobic training film to an issue of the integrity of public officials," McGoldrick said in a statement. CAIR-NY and several other groups also called for Browne's resignation, and even Bloomberg criticized his storytelling abilities. "I keep saying to everybody, ‘Get the whole story out right away,’ and that’s to keep it from going on and on and on, and to give the public the information they need," said Bloomberg. "That wasn’t done as well as we could have done it, and next time we’ll do it a little bit better."...

Sir, yes, sir! We will not offend Muslims by training the NYPD to fight jihad, sir!

Hamas-linked CAIR smells blood, and is going in for the kill. They've eliminated any truth about Islam and jihad from national FBI training, and are now trying to eliminate it everywhere. The outcome will be a cadre of agents and police officers who are full of politically correct nonsense that will render them clueless and complacent in the face of jihad activity. And so the jihad in the U.S. will advance unimpeded.

In FrontPage this morning I discuss the ongoing travesty in New York, as Hamas-linked CAIR shouts "Jump!" and the dhimmi Mayor Bloomberg responds, "How high?"

A controversy has broken out this week that epitomizes how bold the Islamic supremacist forces in the U.S. have become, and how weak and supine those who are charged with protecting the public have become.

The New York Times has run a news story and an indignant unsigned editorial about the showing of The Third Jihad, a relatively tepid anti-jihad film, to New York Police Department personnel. The Hamas-linked Council on American-Islamic Relations (CAIR) immediately got into the act, compelling New York’s ever ready to accommodate Mayor Michael Bloomberg to apologize and denounce the film, which he almost certainly has not seen. But that wasn’t enough for Hamas-linked CAIR: they’re calling now for the resignation of New York’s Police Commissioner Raymond Kelly.

And that stands to reason, based on the principle that when one’s enemy is down, one should kick him some more. Hamas-linked CAIR sees its chance to end all effective counter-terror measures in New York, and is going for it.

This whole controversy is epitomized by the photo illustration and lead paragraph of the first New York Times story on this issue: “In Police Training, a Dark Film on U.S. Muslims,” which was by Michael Powell and appeared in the January 23 issue. The photo shows the black flag of jihad flying above the White House, with the caption, “An Islamic flag atop the White House in ‘The Third Jihad.’”

Then the lead paragraph says: “Ominous music plays as images appear on the screen: Muslim terrorists shoot Christians in the head, car bombs explode, executed children lie covered by sheets and a doctored photograph shows an Islamic flag flying over the White House.”

Both the Times’ use of the image and its reference to it at the beginning of the story suggest that the producers of The Third Jihad doctored the photo themselves in order to push their cockamamie idea that some Muslims want to “infiltrate and dominate America.” But in reality, Muslims originated this image, as we have reported here several times. Here is a photo of Muslims holding up this photo at a rally in New York in February 2006:

And another:

Yet this whole controversy is predicated on the assumption that The Third Jihad is whipping up hysteria about a non-existent threat. In reality, it covers much the same ground that I cover in my book Stealth Jihad, in which I show that the agenda of infiltration and subversion on the part of the Muslim Brotherhood and its allied groups is very real.

In “An Explanatory Memorandum on the General Strategic Goal for the Brotherhood in North America,” by Mohamed Akram, May 19, 1991, Muslim Brotherhood operatives in the U.S. are told that they “must understand that their work in America is a kind of grand Jihad in eliminating and destroying the Western civilization from within and “sabotaging” its miserable house by their hands and the hands of the believers so that it is eliminated and God’s religion is made victorious over all other religions.”

There is more.

From Yahoo News:

NEW YORK, Jan. 26, 2012 /PRNewswire-USNewswire/ -- A prominent national human rights and advocacy organization is asking New York Mayor Michael Bloomberg and city officials to resist efforts by the Hamas-linked Islamic supremacist hate group the Council on American-Islamic Relations (CAIR) to dictate the nature and content of anti-terror training for New York Police Department personnel

The request by the American Freedom Defense Initiative (AFDI) and its Stop Islamization of America (SIOA) program comes after Hamas-linked CAIR, one of the nation's most notorious Islamic supremacist hate groups, demanded the resignation of New York City Police Commissioner Raymond Kelly for allowing the counter-jihad film The Third Jihad to be shown to NYPD personnel. AFDI/SIOA respectfully requests that the New York City government repudiate this attempt by Hamas-linked CAIR to interfere with and impede counterterrorism training.

AFDI/SIOA Executive Director Pamela Geller said in a statement: "AFDI/SIOA deplores the attempts by Hamas-linked CAIR and a thoroughly compromised New York Times to undermine the security of New Yorkers by demanding the removal of accurate material about the jihad threat from NYPD training. AFDI/SIOA calls on Mayor Bloomberg to reject the persecution of Police Commissioner Kelly, and to reaffirm him in his position. New York's leaders must not cave in to Hamas-linked CAIR's campaign to outlaw the truth about jihad and Islamic supremacism, thereby making us all more vulnerable to them."

Hamas-linked CAIR is an unindicted co-conspirator in a Hamas terror funding case -- so named by the Justice Department during the trial of the Islamic charity known as the Holy Land Foundation.

CAIR has previously attempted to intimidate numerous government agencies and citizens' groups into dropping events featuring foes of international jihad activity, including SIOA's Executive Director Pamela Geller, SIOA's Associate Director Robert Spencer, ACT for America's Brigitte Gabriel, and others. In the summer of 2010 it has embarked upon a concerted campaign of intimidation and defamation to silence public figures who speak out against jihad and Islamic terrorism, including Senator Charles Schumer (D-NY), the Rev. Franklin Graham, Florida Congressional candidate Dan Fanelli, and Connecticut Congressional candidate Rick Torres.

CAIR's attempt to intimidate the NYPD and dictate its choice of training materials is consistent with its long record of pro-jihad duplicity and deception. Although it has received millions of dollars in donations from foreign Islamic entities, it has not registered as a foreign agent as required by the Foreign Agents Registration Act (FARA), despite spreading Islamic supremacist propaganda within the United States.

Although it presents itself as a civil rights group, CAIR actually has numerous links to Islamic supremacist and jihad groups. CAIR founders Omar Ahmad and Niwad Awad (who still serves as CAIR's executive director) were present at a Hamas planning meeting in Philadelphia in 1993 where they and other Hamas operatives conspired to raise funds for Hamas and to promote jihad in the Middle East. CAIR has steadfastly refused to denounce Hamas and Hizballah as terrorist groups.

Several former CAIR officials have been convicted of various crimes related to jihad terror:

-- Ghassan Elashi, founder of CAIR's Texas chapter, in 2009
received a 65-year prison sentence for funneling over $12
million from the Islamic charity known as the Holy Land
Foundation to the jihad terrorist group Hamas, which is
responsible for murdering hundreds of Israeli civilians
-- Mousa Abu Marzook, a former CAIR official, was in 1995
designated by the U.S. government in 1995 as a "terrorist and
Hamas leader." He now is a Hamas leader in Syria.
-- Randall Royer, CAIR's former civil rights coordinator, in 2004
began serving a 20-year prison sentence for aiding al-Qaida and
the Taliban against American troops in Afghanistan and
recruiting for Lashkar e-Taiba, the jihadist group responsible
for the 2008 Mumbai jihad massacres.
-- Bassem Khafagi, CAIR's former community relations director, was
arrested for involvement with the Islamic Assembly of North
America, which was linked to al-Qaida. After pleading guilty to
visa and bank fraud charges, Khafagi was deported.
-- Rabih Haddad, a former CAIR fundraiser, was deported for his
work with the Global Relief Foundation (which he co-founded), a
terror-financing organization.

In 1998 Omar Ahmad, CAIR's co-founder and longtime Board Chairman, said: "Islam isn't in America to be equal to any other faith, but to become dominant. The Koran should be the highest authority in America, and Islam the only accepted religion on Earth."

After he received unwelcome publicity as a result of this statement, Ahmad denied saying it, several years after the fact. However, the original reporter, Lisa Gardiner of the Fremont Argus, stands by her story.

CAIR's spokesman Ibrahim Hooper once said: "I wouldn't want to create the impression that I wouldn't like the government of the United States to be Islamic sometime in the future."

SIOA is one of America's foremost organizations defending human rights, religious liberty, and the freedom of speech against Islamic supremacist intimidation and attempts to bring elements of Sharia to the United States.

In "An Explanatory Memorandum on the General Strategic Goal for the Brotherhood in North America," by Mohamed Akram, May 19, 1991, Muslim Brotherhood operatives in the U.S. are told that they "must understand that their work in America is a kind of grand Jihad in eliminating and destroying the Western civilization from within and "sabotaging" its miserable house by their hands and the hands of the believers so that it is eliminated and God's religion is made victorious over all other religions."

There are other indications as well:

"We reject the U.N., reject America, reject all law and order. Don't lobby Congress or protest because we don't recognize Congress. The only relationship you should have with America is to topple it. . . . Eventually there will be a Muslim in the White House dictating the laws of Shariah." -- Muhammad Faheed, Muslim Students Association meeting, Queensborough Community College, 2003

"Islam isn't in America to be equal to any other faith, but to become dominant. The Koran should be the highest authority in America, and Islam the only accepted religion on earth." -- Hamas-linked CAIR cofounder and longtime Board chairman Omar Ahmad, 1998 (denial noted and full story explained at link)

"I wouldn't want to create the impression that I wouldn't like the government of the United States to be Islamic sometime in the future." -- Hamas-linked CAIR spokesman Ibrahim "Honest Ibe" Hooper, 1993

"If only Muslims were clever politically, they could take over the United States and replace its constitutional government with a caliphate." -- prominent American Muslim leader Siraj Wahhaj, 2002

Yet the initial Times article and all the coverage that followed are based on the assumption that no Muslim in the U.S. believes or acts upon such ideas. None of the coverage deals with the possibility that the film might be accurate, and to what extent:

During that time, at least 1,489 police officers, from lieutenants to detectives to patrol officers, saw the film.

News that police trainers showed this film so extensively comes as the department wrestles with its relationship with the city’s large Muslim community. The Police Department offers no apology for aggressively spying on Muslim groups and says it has ferreted out terror plots.

But members of the City Council, civil rights advocates and Muslim leaders say the department, in its zeal, has trampled on civil rights, blurred lines between foreign and domestic spying and sown fear among Muslims.

“The department’s response was to deny it and to fight our request for information,” said Faiza Patel, a director at the Brennan Center for Justice at New York University Law School, which obtained the release of the documents through a Freedom of Information request. “The police have shown an explosive documentary to its officers and simply stonewalled us.”

Tom Robbins, a former columnist with The Village Voice, first revealed that the police had screened the film. The Brennan Center then filed its request.

Instead of investigating its accuracy, the Times, predictably, looks into who funded the film:

The 72-minute film was financed by the Clarion Fund, a nonprofit group whose board includes a former Central Intelligence Agency official and a deputy defense secretary for President Ronald Reagan. Its previous documentary attacking Muslims’ “war on the West” attracted support from the casino magnate Sheldon Adelson, a major supporter of Israel who has helped reshape the Republican presidential primary by pouring millions of dollars into a so-called super PAC that backs Newt Gingrich.

Commissioner Kelly is listed on the “Third Jihad” Web site as a “featured interviewee.” Paul J. Browne, the Police Department’s chief spokesman, wrote in an e-mail that filmmakers had lifted the clip from an old interview. The commissioner, Mr. Browne said, has not asked the filmmakers to remove him from its Web site, or to clarify that he had not cooperated with them....

Clarion’s financing is a puzzle. Its federal income tax forms show contributions, grants and revenues typically hover around $1 million annually — except in 2008, when it booked contributions of $18.3 million. That same year, Clarion produced “Obsession: Radical Islam’s War Against the West.” The Clarion Fund used its surge in contributions to pay to distribute tens of millions of copies of this DVD in swing electoral states across the country in September 2008.

“The Third Jihad” is quite similar, in style and content, to that earlier film. Narrated by Zuhdi Jasser, a Muslim doctor and former American military officer in Arizona, “The Third Jihad” casts a broad shadow over American Muslims. Few Muslim leaders, it states, can be trusted.

“Americans are being told that many of the mainstream Muslim groups are also moderate,” Mr. Jasser states. “When in fact if you look a little closer, you’ll see a very different reality. One of their primary tactics is deception.”

Seeing as how most of them are listed as allied groups in that Muslim Brotherhood memorandum I linked above, this is an entirely reasonable statement.

Nonetheless, and again predictably, the Times is pressing on with its campaign, New York Mayor Bloomberg is in full retreat, and the Islamic supremacist thugs at Hamas-linked CAIR smell blood and are calling for the resignation of police commissioner Ray Kelly.

And so New York has taken a decisive step today toward outlawing the truth about jihad and Islamic supremacism, which only makes it more vulnerable to them.

The involvement of the sinister thugs of Hamas-linked CAIR should raise red flags. If this were a case of four non-Muslim high school football players attacking a Muslim opponent, kicking him and giving him a concussion, you can be sure Dawud Walid would be on the other side. Hamas-linked CAIR is trying to portray these Muslim football players as victims, despite the fact that they're the ones who carried out the assault in the first place. This is in line with Hamas-linked CAIR's never-ending quest for Muslim victims. In order to deflect attention away from jihad activity and try to portray Muslims as victims, so as to shame non-Muslims into not investigating or even being suspicious of further jihad activity, Hamas-linked CAIR and other Muslims have not hesitated to fabricate "hate crimes." Hamas-linked CAIR and other groups like it want and need hate crimes against Muslims, because they can use them for political points and as weapons to intimidate people into remaining silent about the jihad threat.

And in this case, they're trying to portray some thuggish Muslim footballers as victims, both to advance their Muslim victimhood narrative, and to try to intimidate law enforcement officials into being afraid to charge Muslims with anything, for fear of being charged with racial or ethnic or religious bias.

"Dearborn Heights football players challenge charges," from ClickOnDetroit.com, January 24:

DETROIT - The families of metro Detroit high school students are crying foul and fighting back against charges stemming from a fight on the field during a football game.

Four teens, Ali Bajjey, Fanar Al-Asady, Hadee Attia and Mohamed Ahmed, are facing charges of aggravated assault for the incident that happened Oct. 21 between Star Academy and Westland Lutheran High School.

The quarterback for Lutheran planned to touch his knee to the ground to end the game, with Lutheran leading 48 to 6. Police said game officials knew this and instructed teams not to have contact after the snap. But players from Star Academy, according to police, went after the quarterback, knocking him to the ground and kicking him. The quarterback suffered a concussion.

But the Council on American-Islamic Relations held a news conference Tuesday on the basis that the allegations are not true.

CAIR said there is new video showing the incident was "greatly exaggerated" and that the players were targeted because they were Arab-American.

"We believe that from the very beginning that, if these young men may have been of a different ethnicity, of a different religion, different skin color, that Dearborn Heights police officer most likely would not have been so aggressive in the means in which he carried out his investigation," said CAIR Executive Director Dawud Walid.

Attorney Nabih Ayad said said [sic] players are commonly involved in “skirmishes” in post play but that these players were treated differently because of ethnic profiling.

"Had their names been John or Bill, Randy or Jason, I don't think these charges would be standing here today. Because of the Arab ethnicity, I think these charges were brought with the racial animus behind it," he said. "If you play football, you better watch out. You can't be aggressive because you may be charged with a criminal act. We're asking judges to be referees on every play."

In response, the Wayne County Prosecutor issued a statement that said it had a policy against allowing race or ethnicity to influence any part of the charging process.

“Our investigation in this case includes a video tape which captured the incident. After a review of the evidence, we have charged the people involved in this incident with the appropriate charges,” Wayne County Prosecutor Kym Worthy said....

Gingrich.jpgNo Sharia for him, but no presidency, either

Newt Gingrich's unhappy ex is just about to torpedo his presidential run, but I am glad to see he slipped in a few more home truths before departing the national stage. Hamas-linked CAIR is, surprise of surprises, lying about the nature of Sharia. It teaches the things they say it does, broadly interpreted, but also denies the freedom of speech, mandates death for apostates, and institutionalizes discrimination against women and second-class status for non-Muslims. Western apologists for Sharia such as Islamic Republic shill Reza Aslan lie about Sharia when they claim it is so multiform that it has no particular character that anyone can point to; in reality, wherever and whenever Sharia has been implemented, historically and today, it has looked pretty much the same, and has contained the elements of Sharia that Western Islamic supremacist spokesmen routinely deny are essential to it.

Don't believe me? Fine. Show me evidence of any Sharia state -- not a majority-Muslim state, but a Sharia state -- that did not have as part of its basic law the oppressive items I listed above, and many more. I'll be right here, at director[at]jihadwatch.org.

"Group blasts Gingrich for limiting hires to Muslims who renounce Shariah law," by Joy Lin for FoxNews.com, January 18 (thanks to Nawid):

The largest Muslim civil liberties group in the United States on Wednesday condemned Newt Gingrich for saying he would only hire Muslims to his administration if they renounced the use of Islam's Shariah law as a tool for U.S. government.

Calling Gingrich "one of the nation's worst promoters of anti-Muslim bigotry," the Council of American Islamic Relations suggested the Republican presidential candidate is a segregationist.

"Newt Gingrich's vision of America segregates our citizens by faith. His outdated political ideas look backward to a time when Catholics and Jews were vilified and their faiths called a threat," said CAIR Legislative Director Corey Sayolor [sic] in a statement.

"The time for bias in American politics has passed and Newt Gingrich looks like a relic of an ugly era," Sayolor said.

CAIR said the release was prompted by the candidate's remarks Tuesday in Columbia when, asked if he would ever endorse a Muslim running for president.

"It would depend entirely on whether they would commit in public to give up Shariah," Gingrich said.

"A truly modern person who happened to worship Allah would not be a threat, a person who belonged to any kind of belief in Shariah, any effort to impose it on the rest of us, would be a mortal threat," Gingrich told the crowd, adding that he's "totally opposed" to Shariah law being applied in American courts and favors a federal law that "preempts" its use.

This month, the 10th Circuit Court of Appeals struck down an Oklahoma ban on the application of "Sharia law" and "international law" in courts.

Pointing to the religious freedoms guaranteed by the First Amendment, CAIR defends Shariah law as a set of beliefs that "teaches marital fidelity, generous charity and a thirst for knowledge," and mandates that Muslims respect the law of the land in which they live.

Gingrich had a different interpretation of Shariah law, pointing to the, "rising Islamization of Turkey has been accompanied by a 1,400 percent increase in women being killed."

"When you look at the application of Shariah in places like Iran, when you look at churches being burned in Nigeria and Egypt, and that the decline of Christians in Iraq from a million, 200 thousand when the Americans arrived to about 500,000 today, I think it depends entirely on the person," he said.

"If they are a modern person integrated in the modern world and they are prepared to recognize all religions, that's one thing. On the other hand, if they're Saudis, who demand that we respect them while they refuse to allow Christians to worship in Saudi Arabia, that's something different," he continued.

Later in the day during a question and answer session in Aiken, S.C., Gingrich also called the Ground Zero mosque "a deliberate and willful insult to the people of the United States who suffered an attack by people who are motivated by the same thing."

"I think the time has come for us to have an honest conversation about Islamic radicalism. I don't think we should be intimidated by our political elites, and I don't think we should be intimidated by universities who have been accepting money from the Saudis and who, therefore, now have people who are apologists for the very people who want to kill us," he said.

Indeed.

This is not as self-contradictory as it seems: Hamas-linked CAIR is nothing if not consistent. The consistency here is in Hamas-linked CAIR's ongoing efforts to make people think that Muslims are aiding anti-terror efforts, while in fact opposing those efforts in every particular. Both these tendencies are abundantly established. The goal is to make Muslims appear to be innocent victims of law enforcement "Islamophobia," while deflecting scrutiny from actual jihad terror activity. "CAIR praises Muslim community for turning in FL terrorist, then criticizes FBI for 'entrapment,'” by Matt Lacy in the Greeley Gazette, January 11 (thanks to Kenneth):

While praising local Muslims for their help in capturing a Florida Muslim who wanted to blow up area nightclubs, CAIR then criticized law enforcement authorities saying they may have used “entrapment” to catch the bomber.

Sami Osmakac, a naturalized American citizen from Kosovo, identified himself as a Muslim and said he wanted to bomb Tampa nightclubs and a sheriff’s office with bombs and guns. Osmakac also railed against Christians and Jews in videos he posted online.

Appearing on Fox 13 out of Tampa Bay, Hassan Shibly, executive director for the Council on American Islamic Relations mentioned that the local Muslim community was receiving a lot of praise from local law enforcement for their role in helping stop a radical Muslim from bombing area nightclubs.

“I met today with the U.S. attorney and the head of the local FBI and they expressed a lot of gratitude and thanks to the Muslim community for its vital role in bringing the suspect to the attention of law enforcement.”...

While praising the Muslim community, Shibly then turned around and criticized the FBI expressing concern about a perception of entrapment with their arrest.

Shibly said, “The weapons and explosives were provided by the government. Was he just a troubled individual, or did he pose a real threat?"

Following the reporting of Shibly’s comments, he has said CAIR will not pursue the entrapment allegations.

Islamic supremacist boy Reza Aslan sums up in the above tweet how Islamic supremacists and their Leftist stooges such as Jon Stewart of the Daily Show are lying about what really happened between Hamas-linked CAIR rep Nezar Hamze and the Broward County Republican Party: Hamze ran for a seat on the party's Executive Committee, and lost. That's all. No one said he wasn't welcome in the party. But this is, as always, what Aslan and others like him do: they cannot make their case by telling the truth, so they lie, again and again.

In this case, the Daily Show savaged anti-jihad warrior Joe Kaufman for his opposition to Hamze. Video here -- I am not going to embed this dhimmi garbage at this site.

Hamze himself, meanwhile, is not the choirboy victim of "Islamophobia" that the Useful Idiot Stewart makes him out to be. Joe Kaufman, in the first place, is an indefatigable freedom fighter and careful researcher, and Hamze's link to Hamas-linked CAIR is obvious and undeniable. Pamela Geller notes here some things about Hamze's record that didn't make the Daily Show: "Why didn't Jon Stewart's smart ass dhimmi reporter ask Hamze whom he meant when he railed against "neo-cons and neo-Zionists"? Why didn't they ask Hamze about Hamas-linked CAIR's unindicted co-conspirator status, or the former CAIR officials who are doing time for jihad plots? Or about how he tried to strongarm Congressman Allen West into shunning freedom fighters? Or about when he played the victim game and lied about Islamic terror until West strongly rebuked him? Why didn't Hamze get asked about what he thought of the brutal and bloody sharia law?"

Then there is this from here at Jihad Watch, in which I discuss Hamze's attempt to whitewash Sharia.

So what is in it for a guy like Stewart? Apparently he thinks the crocodile will eat him last.

Here is more evidence of how topsy-turvy our values have become in America ten years after 9/11: the Hamas-linked Council on American-Islamic Relations (CAIR), an unindicted co-conspirator in a terror funding case, opponent of essentially every anti-terror measure ever devised, and a group with several of its former officials in prison for jihad terror-related activities, is mainstream and given entree into public schools, while anti-jihadists who are trying to defend Constitutional freedoms and principles are vilified and shunned even by people ostensibly on the same side. This cannot and will not end well. "Hamas-linked CAIR in Your Kid’s Classroom," by Pamela Geller in Big Government, January 6:

Why is a Hamas-linked Muslim Brotherhood organization given entrée in public schools? In the American Thinker December 19, I asked: “Why is a representative of a terror-linked organization, a defender of jihad terror groups and an apologist for Islamic supremacism welcome to speak in public schools?”

I was referring to Hassan Shibly, a representative of the Hamas-linked Council on American-Islamic Relations (CAIR), who spoke at Tampa’s Steinbrenner High School in November. After I broke the story at my website Atlas Shrugs on December 4, giving specifics of where and when the CAIR rep spoke, and then published the article in the Thinker, “Hamas High School in Florida?,” patriots made hundreds of calls and sent hundreds of letters, emails, Tweets and Facebook messages in protest to Steinbrenner school officials.

The main person responsible was Kelly R. Miliziano, a teacher in the Social Studies Department at Steinbrenner. And she announced Wednesday that the school has scheduled additional religious speakers to balance the CAIR operative — a Hindu priest or a Christian pastor.

The problem with that is that Shibly is a political speaker. A Hindu priest or Christian pastor won’t counter the poisonous propaganda that Shibly spews to our impressionable young minds. An informed counter-jihad speaker such as Robert Spencer, Nonie Darwish, Wafa Sultan or I myself must be given a chance to speak, so as to counter the lies of Hamas-tied CAIR.

Hamas-linked CAIR should not be speaking at all, but if the public school shills insist on presenting jihadi views, they must provide freedom lovers with the same opportunity. Further, political speakers should be off limits on school grounds.

Meanwhile, the email exchanges between CAIR and Steinbrenner High School are revealing. Miliziano wrote this in a November 14 email: “Every year I invite a representative from CAIR to speak to our AP World History Students.” After CAIR-Tampa responded favorably, Miliziano wrote again: “Over the years I have had many speakers from CAIR come to my classes, and it has been such a good learning experience for the students.”

Miliziano said that she “regularly asks” Shibly to speak. This is despite the fact that Shibly has a track record of defending jihad terrorist groups and acting as an apologist for the worldwide jihad and Islamic supremacism. Following the 2006 Israel-Lebanon War, Shibly granted legitimacy to the jihad terrorist group Hezb’allah by characterizing it as a “resistance movement” that provides valued social services to the Lebanese people. “They’re absolutely not a terrorist organization,” Shibly said, and “any war against them is illegitimate.”

Yet Miliziano refused to respond to parents’ requests to vet the notorious Mr. Shibly. Instead, she attacked the parents who complained. She even called parents’ concerns about CAIR “baseless and Islamophobic.” Yet although it presents itself as a civil rights group, CAIR actually has many links to Islamic supremacist and jihad terror groups. CAIR’s cofounders Omar Ahmad and Niwad Awad attended a Hamas planning meeting in Philadelphia in 1993 where they conspired with Hamas operatives to raise funds for Hamas. And several former CAIR officials have been convicted of various jihad-related crimes.

This should be grounds for Miliziano’s immediate dismissal. Freedom lovers should urge Steinbrenner’s principal, Brenda Grasso, to fire Miliziano at once demand equal time for freedom fighters, while calling upon Steinbrenner High cease and desist from inviting Muslim Brotherhood groups to speak to public school students. Call for Ms. Miliziano’s removal. Demand equal time for freedom fighters. Brenda Grasso’s email is brenda.grasso@sdhc.k12.fl.us....

Read it all, and politely email Brenda Grasso.

Hamas-linked CAIR's Ibrahim Hooper has just emailed me to send me the link to the article below, in which we're told that New York firebomber Ray Lazier Lengend disliked Muslims and Arabs and wanted to take out as many as possible. Clearly Honest Ibe is in a celebratory mood, as he thinks he finally has his violent anti-Muslim attacker: a man whose only publicly released motive so far for disliking Muslims was that the people in mosque he attacked wouldn't let him use the bathroom, a man who is clearly unbalanced and under psychiatric observation, who also attacked a Hindu place of worship, and who had such a tendency toward violence that even his brother-in-law and his family lived in fear of him. Hooper demanded that I apologize, although I am not sure for what -- apparently for pointing out that the guy was "motivated by personal grievances" rather than by "Islamophobia."

It is obvious, however, Ray Lazier Lengend is not exactly what Hamas-linked CAIR would want in a villain. If he hated Muslims, it appears to be because his bladder was full. Nonetheless, Hooper and Co. are still popping the corks and tebowing (no, wait...) because Ray Lazier Lengend is as close as they've ever gotten to the media caricature of a violent anti-Muslim yahoo hopped up on Jihad Watch and Atlas Shrugs and putting a couple of rifles in his pickup to go out and kill him some Moozlums.

Such people have been so hard to come by in real life because we don't call for or approve of any violence against innocent people, or any acts of vigilantism against Muslims or anyone else. We are in reality working for justice, freedom of speech, freedom of conscience, and equality of rights before the law for all people -- hardly a recipe for "hate" that is likely to stoke up the thugs. Anyone who actually attacked an innocent Muslim is a criminal idiot who should be prosecuted to the fullest extent of the law. Of course, the Left and Islamic supremacists are still trying to blame anti-jihadists for murders in Norway that were committed by another psychopath with no coherent ideology, who called for an alliance with jihadis and criticized me for eschewing violence, but there again, the facts fail them.

And when the facts fail dishonest Islamic supremacist and their Leftist toadies, they resort to their tried-and-true method: they make them up.

This avid search for Muslim victims has coalesced with the Islamic supremacists' anxiety to discredit me and obscure the truths I tell: they were even prepared to blame me for a murder in New Jersey that turned out to be a love triangle that the killer tried to frame as an anti-Muslim hate crime. Not only did I receive a tweet from a Muslim blaming me for the murder, but also a well-placed source told me that Hooper was “salivating and waiting to jump all over” the murder story. “They are waiting to blame you for everything.”

Anyway, my congratulations to Hooper for finally bagging the big one that he will ride for all the privileged victim status he can wring from it, even if Lengend is clearly more psychotic than "Islamophobe." Honest Ibe's gleeful email to me indicates how thrilled he is today, and so I can now bring you the most entertaining hat tip evuh: "Alleged Queens firebomber wanted to massacre Muslims in mosque, prosecutors say: Brother-in-law says he feared alleged pyro: 'He had a vendetta against us,'" by Rocco Parascandola, Matt Mcnulty, Kerry Burke and Kevin Deutsch for the New York Daily News, January 5 (thanks to Ibrahim Hooper):

THE UNHINGED Queens pyromaniac who unleashed a scary New Year’s Day firebombing spree had planned to take out “as many Muslims and Arabs as possible” by lobbing Molotov cocktails at worshipers inside a mosque, prosecutors said.

Ray Lazier Lengend, 40, allegedly told cops he had planned to inflict “as much damage as possible” by hurling all five of his firebombs from the balcony of Imam Al-Khoei Islamic Center onto the crowd below.

The hateful bomb-hurler, who is under psychiatric observation at Bellevue Hospital center, flat-out told detectives he did not like Muslims or Arabs, prosecutors said.

“This is a message to anyone who does this in the future,” said Imam Maan Al-Sahlani, leader of Imam Al-Khoei Islamic Center, where Lengend planned to inflict major casualties. “It’s a good message that justice will come for you, the police will come for you.”

The imam applauded prosecutors’ use of the hate crime statute and hoped it would deter further anti-Muslim crimes.

“Obviously there is something wrong with him,” Al-Sahlani said.

Indeed.

Lengend, an unemployed truck driver from Queens Village, will face a judge via video arraignment Thursday from his bed at Bellevue.

He faces 18 charges including arson as a hate crime and weapon possession for throwing Starbucks Frappuccino bottles filled with gasoline at four occupied Jamaica buildings — two of them places of worship.

Lengend’s brother-in-law, Bejai Rai, 73, said his Elmont, L.I., house was also firebombed because he evicted Lengend for not paying rent.

“He had a vendetta against us,” Rai told the Daily News. “He tried to kill my wife, my two sons and my sister. I’m glad they got him otherwise he’d be back to firebomb us again.” Rai said his family could not sleep until Lengend was caught.

“This is the first night we’ve been able to rest since the bombing.”

Lengend carried out his spree in a silver Buick Regal, which had been stolen from a rental car business at Kennedy Airport....

His first target was Hillside Deli on 179th St., where Lengend threw a flaming glass bottle that ignited upon hitting the floor.

He burned four other targets, including the mosque and a Hindu place of worship on 170th St., but did not inflict the massive damage he hoped for, prosecutors said.

Lengend confessed to three earlier attacks as well, sources said. He claimed ongoing beefs were his motive for all eight crimes.

As I noted here, the Hamas-linked Council on American-Islamic Relations (CAIR) used this incident to expatiate about the alleged rise in violence against mosques and Muslims. Will Hamas-linked CAIR now retract and apologize? And as you can see below, Bloomberg held a press conference about this. Will he, also, now retract and apologize?

Don't hold your breath on either count. But what Pamela Geller says is apt: "So the media mosque meme was patently untrue, and that schmuck Bloomberg looks the fool yet again after holding press conferences against 'hate crime' before he knew what, who and why. And Hamas-tied CAIR was on the radio this morning, WBAI, lying again, blaming me and other bloggers for inciting this hatred of Muslims. Vile jihadists will say anything and do anything."

"Man confesses to bombing NY mosque," from Reuters, January 4 (thanks to Pamela Geller):

A New York City man faces arson and bias charges after confessing to a series of Molotov cocktail attacks that hit a mosque and a Hindu place of worship and unsettled civic leaders concerned the actions might portend violent religious bigotry.

The suspect, who has not been identified by name, is a 40-year-old unemployed tow-truck driver who appeared to have been motivated by personal grudges, said a law enforcement familiar with the investigation who was speaking on condition of anonymity.

The suspect, who is originally from Guyana and lives in the Jamaica section of Queens where four of the attacks took place, also made "broadly anti-Muslim statements" during questioning, the official said.

But apparently they centered around his not being allowed to use the bathroom at the mosque:

He chose the mosque after being refused access to the facility's bathroom, and he mistook one of the private residences as the home of a "crack dealer" with whom he had a dispute, the official said.

Another of the targets was a private residence where Hindu services were held, but that may have been a coincidence. The suspect had a years-old dispute with someone who may not live there anymore, the official said....

"The individual is implicating himself in each of the five firebombing cases, citing personal grievances with each location," said police spokesman Paul Browne.

The arson attacks drew condemnation from religious and civic leaders of various backgrounds who joined New York Mayor Michael Bloomberg and Police Commissioner Ray Kelly for a news conference before the confession was reported.

"Fear mongering about Islam and other American minorities have ripped this country apart... We are all affected when this hate explodes," said Cyrus McGoldrick of the New York chapter of the [Hamas-linked] Council on American-Islamic Relations, a Muslim civil rights group.

I'll be right here waiting for McGoldrick to recant his false claims and apologize to those who are fighting for freedom against Islamization.

One of the firebombs hit the mosque entrance at the Imam al-Khoei Foundation, a Shiite organization in the New York City borough of Queens while some 75 to 80 people were inside....

The suspect's grievances with the convenience store may have started on Dec. 27 when a clerk confronted a man thought to have being trying to steal a Starbucks Frappuccino, police said.

"When they were pushing him out of the store, he said words to the effect of, 'We're going to get even. We're going to get back at you,'" Kelly said before the confession was reported....

A Shi'ite mosque, a house where Hindus were meeting to worship, and a Christian family home were all firebombed, along with other sites. In its daily "American Muslim News Briefs," the Hamas-linked Council on American-Islamic Relations (CAIR) mentioned in passing that "two nearby homes were apparently targeted by the same attackers," but didn't bother to mention that one was a Hindu worship site, and went on to expatiate about the alleged rise in violence against mosques and Muslims. All acts of violence and vigilantism are to be condemned, not just those against Muslims, but Hamas-linked CAIR is trying to use this incident to enhance its fictional narrative of "Islamophobia" raging out of control and innocent Muslims facing discrimination and violence everywhere -- so as to deflect attention from jihad terror activity.

The fact that so many different places were targeted indicates that this firebomber's motive was something other than "Islamophobia," but that won't stop Hamas-linked CAIR or its lapdog media outlets.

"Media focuses on Mosque firebombed in Queens, ignores firebombing against Hindus, Christians," by Matt Lacy in the Greeley Gazette, January 2:

A series of firebombing in Queens, New York that targeted a Hindu place of worship, an African-American Christian couple’s home and a Mosque is being portrayed by the mainstream media and a Muslim advocacy group as a hate crime solely directed against Muslims.

A series of firebombs involving Molotov cocktails was directed against two homes, including one where a group of Hindus was meeting to worship, another home where an African-American Christian couple lived, a convenience store and a local mosque.

The Al-Khoei Islamic Foundation houses one of the most prominent Shiite mosques in New York. According to its website it lists branches in several cities including London, Paris, Montreal and Islamabad, Pakistan. The firebomb, made with a Starbucks bottle was thrown at the door of the center. While the door was blackened, the building did not catch fire.

Police are investigating the crime as an anti-Muslim hate crime. A spokesman for the New York Police Department told the Gazette anytime an attack is made on a Mosque or a synagogue, it is automatically investigated as a bias or hate crime.

The meeting at the Hindu home consisted of two firebombs that did not catch fire, while the home of Monty and Sonya Burnett, who are African-American and Christian, was heavily damaged.

The Burnett’s home was the most heavily damaged of all of the structures firebombed during the four attacks. It took more than 60 firefighters to get the fire under control.

While the bombings were directed at Hindus and Christians as well as Muslims, one would not know that from reading much of the mainstream press coverage of the event.

The New York Times said in the lead paragraph that “police were investigating (the firebombings) as a possible bias crime against Muslims.” Nowhere in the story does it mention the attack on the Hindu worshippers or the Christian family, simply referring to them as houses that were bombed.

The New York Daily News followed a similar lead. While the article did mention the other attacks were on Christians and Hindus, the headline read “Four firebombs, including one tossed at Queens Mosque, eyed as hate crimes.”

Other headlines by various papers included “Islamic structure firebombed in Queens, three other structures attacked”, “4 Firebombs hit Muslim targets in NYC” and “Firebomb attacks in Queens hit Mosque in possible hate crime.”

On Monday morning, the Council on American Islamic Relations sent out an e-mail release suggesting the attack was directed solely against Muslims. The e-mail said in the subject line “CAIR condemns firebombing of NY Mosque.”

The e-mail went on to say that Ibrahim Hooper, National Director for CAIR said the organization is calling on local police to boost patrols near mosques and advised members of the Muslim community to review security procedures.

Nowhere in the message from CAIR is there any mention made of or a condemnation of the attacks against Christians and Hindus during the same wave of attacks.

Instead, Hooper focused exclusively on the Muslim component saying “a number of recent reports have documented the growth and promotion of Islamophobia.”

Robert Spencer, founder of Jihad Watch said the media spin shows the favoritism Muslim groups are given to the exclusion of other groups and that CAIR is simply trying to use this attack to portray Muslims as the exclusive victims in this case.

“Implying the attacks were directed solely at Muslims is obviously false and self-serving. It seems as if whoever did this is opposed to foreigners or religion in general and to say this is exclusively a Muslim hate crime is a politically motivated claim.”

Spencer went on to say that CAIR’s ignoring the firebombing of the black Christian family and the Hindus shows the agency’s isn’t really interested in hate crimes against other groups but simply want to use the attacks to their advantage.

“CAIR did not mention anything about the Hindus or Christians when they issued their release. This just shows how self-serving their claims of victimhood really are,” Spencer said. “They called for increased police patrols against mosques, but they didn’t say anything about calling for protection for Hindu or Christian places of worship.”

The whole idea of a uniform is to convey a sense of singleness of purpose, both to those within the organization and to those who encounter members of it. So if one group is allowed variations on the uniform, all other groups should be allowed them as well, and the very purpose of a uniform is destroyed. Hijabs and turbans in the JROTC will create a sense that the wearer has another allegiance and a different purpose from those of the rest of the outfit, rather than being dedicated primarily to the organization's mission and goals.

But what is most disturbing about this story is Leon Panetta's rush, and the Army's rush, to placate the Hamas-linked Muslim Brotherhood group CAIR. Hamas-linked CAIR is an unindicted co-conspirator in a Hamas terror funding case -- so named by the Justice Department. CAIR operatives have repeatedly refused to denounce Hamas and Hizballah as terrorist groups. Several former CAIR officials have been convicted of various crimes related to jihad terror. CAIR's cofounder and longtime Board chairman (Omar Ahmad), as well as its chief spokesman (Ibrahim Hooper), have made Islamic supremacist statements. Its California chapter distributed posters telling Muslims not to talk to the FBI.

An update on this story. "Army to allow hijabs, turbans in Junior ROTC," by Caroline May in the Daily Caller, December 22 (thanks to all who sent this in):

The [Hamas-linked] Council on American Islamic Relations (CAIR) has announced that the Department of Defense will now allow Muslim and Sikh students participating in Junior Reserve Officers’ Training Corps (JROTC) to wear headscarves and turbans while in uniform.

The decision, announced Thursday, followed an October incident in which Muslim teen Demin Zawity quit JROTC when her commanding officer at a Brentwood, Tenn. high school would not allow her to wear her hijab in the homecoming parade.

CAIR later wrote to Defense Secretary Leon Panetta requesting “constitutionally-protected religious accommodations for the girl and for future Muslim JROTC participants.”

In a letter to the Muslim organization sent on Panetta’s behalf, Deputy Assistant Secretary of the Army Larry Stubblefield explained that based on the incident that led Zawity to quit JROTC, the Army will now be making more accommodations for religious headwear in the training program.

Based on your concerns, the Army has reviewed its JROTC uniform policy and will develop appropriate procedures to provide Cadets the opportunity to request the wear of religious head dress, such as the turban and hijab,” Stubblefield wrote in the letter, made public by CAIR. “This change will allow Miss Zawity and other students the chance to fully participate in the JROTC program.”

Army spokesman George Wright confirmed Stubblefield’s letter to CAIR and explained to The Daily Caller that while JROTC is affiliated with the Army, it is not actually a part of the Army. The new procedures will provide JROTC with a exemption method more similar to current Army procedure mandated through the Religious Freedom Restoration Act of 1993.

That law allows soldiers on active duty to apply for religious accommodation if they want to alter their uniforms in accordance with their religious beliefs. The exemptions are applied on a case-by-case basis. Soldiers who are transferred must reapply....

Hamas-linked CAIR and other Islamic supremacists are once again claiming victim status for Muslims and trying to use that status to deflect law enforcement attention away from Muslims in this country -- this time in New York. If they're successful, jihadists will have a free hand. And now they've got 34 Representatives on board. There is a word for such people.

"34 Congress Members Call For NYPD-CIA Probe," from AP, December 21 (thanks to Pamela Geller):

WASHINGTON (AP) — More than two dozen members of Congress are calling for investigation into the CIA’s relationship with the New York Police Department.

The members of Congress want to know more about the CIA’s collaboration with the police department to monitor Muslims after an Associated Press investigation.

A letter signed by 34 members of Congress was sent to the Department of Justice and House Judiciary Committee asking for a thorough probe.

Rep. Judy Chu, D-Calif., says: “We cannot allow the explicit profiling and targeting of Muslim Americans by the very people who are tasked with protecting and serving their community.”

Earlier this year, the AP revealed that the CIA helped the NYPD build intelligence programs to monitor Muslims after Sept. 11, and a top CIA operative was working at the police department.

Here is Hamas-linked CAIR's "2012 Election Candidate Questionnaire" (thanks to Pamela Geller). Surprise of surprises: the answers it tries to elicit from the candidates all tend toward weakening our defense against the global jihad and Islamic supremacism. What an amazing coincidence!

Note also that CAIR is printing voter guides. They are rolling in cash (and who is looking into where that money is coming from?) -- imagine the work that freedom fighters could accomplish if we had even a tenth of their resources.

(Note: Full answers will be published on the organization's website. The first 200 words of each answer will appear in print voter guides.)

1) Racial and Religious Profiling/Homeland Security: A number of law enforcement agencies use race, ethnicity, national origin, or religion to identify and target individuals for heightened security attention even where there is no indication of wrongdoing. Do you feel relying on these types of characteristics is an effective tactic for protecting America? If not, then what methods do you endorse?

In other words, do not scrutinize young Muslim males any more than octogenarian Iowa grandmothers in wheelchairs, on pain of charges of "Islamophobia."

2) Transportation Security (No Fly List): Many Americans report being subject to additional screening when traveling by air or through U.S. borders as a result being incorrectly placed on one of several government watch lists. Would you provide an effective, expeditious means through which persons placed on a government watch list could have themselves removed?

Note that Hamas-linked CAIR is not asking what candidates might propose to make air passengers safer, and to improve TSA screening procedures. Instead, they're asking about how people can stop being regarded as an object of suspicion. I myself was on a government watch list for years and put up with the nuisance of it because I shared the TSA's commitment to preventing a jihad terror attack, even if I disagreed with their methods. Hamas-linked CAIR, on the other hand, seems to have a different agenda. They want to prevent Muslims from being subject to additional screening or border checks. And what about jihadists who might slip through as a result? Hamas-linked CAIR has nothing to say about them?

3) Immigration Reform: Do you favor an immigration reform package that includes a path to legalization, an increase in family visas, and restrictions on the lengths of detentions? If not, what would you do differently?

How about this: do you favor an immigration reform package that will make even the smallest attempt to determine the level of Muslim immigrants' adherence to the jihad doctrine?

4) International 1 (Afghanistan): What is your plan for bringing our troops home from Afghanistan without sacrificing American prestige and regional stability?

The mission is unclear in Afghanistan, and it's a Sharia state anyway according to the Constitution we underwrote there. How is regional stability being enhanced by our being there now -- to say nothing of American prestige?

5) International 2 (Arab Spring): Popular protests and upheavals across the Middle East and North Africa have toppled authoritarian regimes and provided new hope that democracy will emerge in the region. How will your administration support this ongoing process of regional democratization?

In other words, how much money will you come across with for the new pro-Sharia Muslim Brotherhood and other Islamic supremacist regimes?

6) Healthcare (Insurance Coverage): What is your solution to the twin problems of rising healthcare costs and large numbers of uninsured people?

Why is an Islamic advocacy group asking this question?

7) Government Benefits (Social Security and Medicare): How would you oversee the administration of the nation’s Medicare and Social Security benefits?

Same question as #6. Is this just to solidify their alliance with Leftists?

8) Education: In December 2010, the Organization for Economic Co-operation and Development (OCED) released a report that lists our nation’s high school students 25th among industrial world nations in math, 17th in science, and 14th in reading, while China’s Shanghai topped the charts. What is your plan for effectively educating our children and keeping our workforce internationally competitive?

For starters, what will you do to keep the lies and hate of Hamas-linked CAIR and other Islamic supremacists out of schools?

9) Economic Empowerment 1 (National Debt): The United States lost its top-tier AAA credit rating from Standard & Poor's in August 2011, and the national debt stands at $14.71 trillion. Many candidates have stated that they will eliminate the national debt and restore America’s credit rating without cutting government services to the neediest. How will you solve the debt crisis?

See #7.

10) Economic Empowerment 2 (Revitalizing Economy): The current economic downturn, lack of trust in the financial market, and high unemployment rate has left far too many Americans struggling. What is your plan for the revitalizing the economy and reducing poverty in the United States?

How about cutting aid to Pakistan and bringing that money home, for starters?

11) Civil Liberties (Protecting Civil Liberties): Following the February 2011 reauthorization of the USA PATRIOT ACT, and revelations about the FBI and NYPD-CIA respectively carrying out domestic spying programs, civil liberties groups and Members of Congress continue to raise concerns over government intrusiveness into private life and the post 9/11 erosion of civil liberties. What measures will you implement to ensure the protection of the civil liberties enjoyed by Americans?

In other words, when will you stop investigating Muslims for jihad terror activity?

In "Hamas High School in Florida?" in the American Thinker today, Pamela Geller details how Hamas-linked CAIR has spread its propaganda in one Florida public school. And there is no telling how many other schools are subjecting their students to the same thing.

Why is a representative of a terror-linked organization, a defender of jihad terror groups and an apologist for Islamic supremacism welcome to speak in public schools?

Back on December 4, I published at my website AtlasShrugs.com the disturbing news of child abuse in Florida public schools: the Hamas-linked Council on American-Islamic Relations (CAIR) was poisoning the minds of high school students. CAIR was crowing about its propaganda putsch in getting their party line into high schools, but did not name the schools or who spoke. This shows that Hamas-linked CAIR knows what they are doing is subversion, and that the schools would be held accountable.

However, now we have been able to identify one school -- Steinbrenner High School -- where a representative of CAIR spoke to students. An informed source tells me it was the notorious Hassan Shibly.

Shibly has a track record of defending jihad terrorist groups and acting as an apologist for the worldwide jihad and Islamic supremacism.

Following the 2006 Israel-Lebanon War, Shibly granted legitimacy to Hezb'allah by characterizing it as a "resistance movement" that provides valued social services to the Lebanese people. "They're absolutely not a terrorist organization," Shibly said, and "any war against them is illegitimate" -- more on that here.

Nonetheless, he was welcomed into the school and spoke to several classes throughout the day, including AP World History, World History, and World Religions.

The email exchanges between CAIR and Steinbrenner High School are revealing. Kelly Miliziano, a World History teacher at Steinbrenner, wrote this in a November 14 email: "Every year I invite a representative from CAIR to speak to our AP World History Students." After CAIR-Tampa responded favorably, Miliziano wrote again: "Over the years I have had many speakers from CAIR come to my classes, and it has been such a good learning experience for the students." She added: "I would prefer to have a speaker for each period of the day so that students can really interact with the speaker and ask questions."

"Every year"? "Many speakers from CAIR"? "Each period of the day"? Hamas-linked groups are regularly talking to high school students? Unindicted co-conspirators in the largest terror funding trial in our nation's history are being given a platform to mislead impressionable teenagers? Miliziano suggested topics that would have given CAIR a magnificent platform to spread their disinformation among the students:

Topics can range from :
The mission of CAIR
Basic beliefs, practices, history of....
Confronting stereotypes and misconceptions (a favorite of students)
Sharia
Why does Islam look differently around the world?
Human Rights and Islam
Women and Islam in different countries
Any other topic you think students should know about.

These are important subjects for students to study, but Hamas-tied CAIR is the last place where they can find out the truth about them. Is this what our public schools are doing with our children -- subjecting them to indoctrination and propaganda? That is child abuse. Where are the counter voices? Where are the voices of freedom?...

Read it all. And Pamela has an action alert here. Politely and courteously register your protest against Hamas-linked CAIR being given a platform in public schools.

Ahmed_Rehab2.jpgFashion plate Rehab in unaltered image from his website (since removed!)

All you really need to read is the headline: "Let's Face it: It's the Radical Right, not Islam, that is the Greatest Threat to the American Way," by Ahmed Rehab of Hamas-linked CAIR in the Huffington Post, December 16 (thanks to T.T.). From the headline alone you can fill in the rest: whining, victimhood posturing, and no hint whatsoever that any Muslims are waging jihad against the United States.

And obviously Rehab is right. Just look at the Radical Right-wingers who have perpetrated or attempted to perpetrate violent attacks against innocent Americans: there was Naser Abdo, the would-be second Fort Hood right-wing mass murderer; and Khalid Aldawsari, the would-be right-wing mass murderer in Lubbock, Texas; and Muhammad Hussain, the would-be right-wing bomber in Baltimore; and Mohamed Mohamud, the would-be right-wing bomber in Portland; and Faisal Shahzad, the would-be Times Square right-wing mass-murderer; and Abdulhakim Mujahid Muhammad, the Arkansas military recruiting station right-wing murderer; and Naveed Haq, the right-wing mass murderer at the Jewish Community Center in Seattle; and Mohammed Reza Taheri-Azar, the would-be right-wing mass murderer in Chapel Hill, North Carolina; Ahmed Ferhani and Mohamed Mamdouh, who hatched a right-wing plot to blow up a Manhattan synagogue; and Umar Farouk Abdulmutallab, the would-be Christmas airplane right-wing bomber; and many others like them who have plotted and/or committed mass murder in the name of the Radical Right and motivated by its texts and teachings.

And then there were all these right-wing declarations of imminent right-wing takeover in the U.S.:

"We reject the U.N., reject America, reject all law and order. Don't lobby Congress or protest because we don't recognize Congress. The only relationship you should have with America is to topple it. . . . Eventually there will be a Muslim in the White House dictating the laws of Shariah." -- Muhammad Faheed, Muslim Students Association meeting, Queensborough Community College, 2003

"Islam isn't in America to be equal to any other faith, but to become dominant. The Koran should be the highest authority in America, and Islam the only accepted religion on earth." -- CAIR cofounder and longtime Board chairman Omar Ahmad, 1998 (denial noted and full story explained at link)

"I wouldn't want to create the impression that I wouldn't like the government of the United States to be Islamic sometime in the future." -- CAIR spokesman Ibrahim "Honest Ibe" Hooper, 1993

"If only Muslims were clever politically, they could take over the United States and replace its constitutional government with a caliphate." -- prominent American Muslim leader Siraj Wahhaj, 2002

No, wait --

Anyway, this deflection strategy from Rehab should come as no surprise. The thuggish Rehab has also spoken up in defense of the Islamic supremacist group Hizb-ut-Tahrir's right to hold its convention in Chicago (Hizb-ut-Tahrir is banned in many countries), while working to suppress the freedom of speech of anti-jihadists.

The Shocking Truth about Lowe's and All American Muslim
by Walid Shoebat and Ben Barrack

So you're watching a soccer game in Dearborn, Michigan between Al-Tadamun and Chelsea, a game that was advertised in public leaflets and on the Arab American website; it was dedicated to something termed, “The Day of Jerusalem.” The thought of incorporating such a slogan into promotional material about a sporting event puzzles you. What is this “Day of Jerusalem” all about? Later, you discover that the game was hosted by Husham Alhusayni – the main spiritual leader of the Karbala Center in Dearborn – who was thanked by Samir Al-Jabiri and Muhammad Alhasayni who said the victory was “dedicated to honor the souls of the martyrs of Jerusalem and Al-Aqsa...”

These are clearly terrorists who murder civilians; such a dedication should spawn outrage but it did not.

The sound of silence in response to such a thing echoed throughout Dearborn's Muslim community. Why did no one object to such hatred, religious bigotry and open support for terrorism?

Husham Alhusayni is not just the imam at Dearborn's Karbala Center; he is also featured in All American Muslim, which airs on The Learning Channel (TLC). In the program, Alhusayni is seen presiding over marriages within Muslim families in Dearborn, whose day-to-day lives are portrayed as they interact in English.

When Sean Hannity attempted to extract a confession from Alhusayni, the double speaking slick-Willy, Alhusayni, repeatedly refused to denounce Hezbollah. Americans were left to wonder if he had decided to plead the fifth, which involves no incrimination. Conversely, when people like Alhusayni have their Arabic translated into English, those same Americans are struck with both shock and awe. Open declarations of public support for Hezbollah to millions is given but is done so in Arabic, of course.

Alhusayni is a signatory to the Jerusalem Document of 2009, which reads more like Mein Kampf. It refers to the war on Zionism as a war between “good and evil.” Zionism is considered an “aggression” that is infecting “the entire human race.” Muslims are told to “get ready for the holy Jihad.”

If one is inclined to believe this is the “struggle within” version of Jihad, the reading of the following phrase after translation should prompt a re-evaluation:

We remind our sons to get ready to carry out their duty in Holy Jihad and continue the path which our young valiant men in Hezbollah began in Southern Lebanon.”

This message was not given to Muslims in Lebanon but is “essential for the Iraqi community living in the Diaspora,” which includes Dearborn. Several of the top Muslim leaders in the US endorsed this document, like Fadel Al-Sahlani, the official representative of Iraq’s leading Shia religious authority and Muhammad Zaki al-Souajh who was the leading imam of the Muslim community in Houston, Texas for several years, as well as Murtada Qazwini.

It is not just about the dog which the Catholic convert to Islam in All American Muslim had to get rid of because his new Muslim family could not tolerate dogs, which are considered unclean in the Islamic culture; the document also refers to completely ridding the world of Zionism:

The struggle between good and evil is not measured by a generation. It does not circulate on a specific land. Jerusalem is an Islamic destiny that stems from ancient history into the future indebted to 1/5 of humanity. What it suffers from Zionist aggression does not only encompass the Palestinian borders but the entire human race. It is time for the nations concerned which have influence, that is the US and all its allies, to reconsider their position regarding Zionist aggression.”

The cancer of Zionism does not only concentrate on the Palestinian-Israeli conflict but is considered an infection within “the entire human race.”

If Americans question my translation from Arabic, they can watch for themselves as the All American Muslim Alhusayni lets a few words slip in English (watch 9:24 mark) while appearing to make the point that evil exists in “every nationality” before speaking broadly about the Zionists and equating them with Timothy McVeigh and Jeffrey Dahmer:

In America, there is Timothy McVeigh... he's evil. Jeffrey Dahmer... he cut the heads off of children and put it in the refrigerator... he's a criminal. Saddam, he's a criminal, killing innocent people. So many Zionists in Palestine, killing innocent people.”

Perhaps a nuanced show consisting of the real American Muslim at the Karbala Center would have provided a more accurate portrayal of beliefs – political aspirations and all – including the all black cloaks that cover each woman entirely, save for a small portion of the face—a far cry from the decorative attire that appears on the television show. I would certainly not object if the show included the photos taken inside the center with men participating in self-flagellation (video here and here) repetitively whipping and scourging themselves with self-inflicted abuse to memorialize the killing of the Prophet Muhammad's grandson, Imam Hussein by the Sunni Muslims.

What they do not tell you on the show is that most of these Muslim families are primarily of the Shia sect. Indeed, these individuals denounce Al-Qaeda, not primarily for carrying out 9/11 but for its connection to Saudi Wahhabists, who were behind destroying Shia national monuments in Samarra.

Americans do not understand the link and this is why Al-Husayni speaks against the Wahhabists for being the instrument of terrorism “against the Shia.” He is continually seen (see 6:50) identifying Al-Saud as a “shame to the world,” and “Arabs are Kaffirs,” referring to them as “the residue of Zionism who rejects the birth of Jesus and the awaited Mahdi.”

Am I saying that all Muslims and Arabs practice doublespeak and have an agenda? Hardly. Nadia Mahdeed from AlSharq Al-Awsat (Middle East News) entered the Karbala Center to interview Alhusayni; she was struck by how many people approached her for not adhering to the dress code:

"I was not wearing a black sheet that women who came to prayer are supposed to wear.”

Mahdeed then relayed what she was told by worshippers:

The people who came to pray all told me that they have no trust in America. I am amazed since they all enjoyed living in it.”

When she interviewed Alhusayni, she said to him:

Your followers insisted I mention to you that they hate Saddam Hussein but that they also have no trust in America.”

Alhusayni, a master of political rhetoric, cleverly replied by adding the word ‘policy,’ thereby softening the claim:

Not many of us trust in the American policy.”

Indeed, doublespeak artists live by double standards. As if underscoring the reality that Alhusayni only wanted to convey a peaceful perception while seeming to support something else entirely, the conflict between the two was not lost on Mahdeed:

Despite his gracefulness, when I walked out of there, my mind was charged with the slogans of war, not the tranquility of peace that is supposed to exist inside such a place.”

Lowe's Home Improvement, which has found itself at the center of controversy for pulling its advertising from All American Muslim, is right; it is behaving as Americans ought to, engaged in a righteous struggle with the outcries of so-called All American Muslims unleashing their only sanctioned dog—CAIR. The Council of American Islamic Relations swiftly acted as the Muslim ACLU, barking out attacks of “racism” and “bigotry” with threats from Rep. Chris Murphy D-CT indicating he and other House members would be sending a letter to Lowe’s on the issue.

Democratic Senators Barbara Boxer (CA), Chuck Schumer (NY) and Dick Durbin (IL), hardly right-wing hawks, all have said that CAIR is closely connected to terrorism.

So is Alhusayni of TLC's All American Muslim.

This morning I had this email exchange with Anna Williams of USA Today:

1. Williams to Spencer:

Subject: USA TODAY video debate (urgent)

Message: I'm an intern on USA TODAY's editorial page. We'd like to get in touch with Robert Spencer regarding the possibility of a video debate today over the controversy surrounding the TV show "All-American Muslim." Robert, if you receive this, please email me at
xxxxxxx@usatoday.com or call me at xxx-xxx-xxxx. Thanks.

2. Spencer to Williams:

I am going on Fox at 1PM Eastern but am otherwise free. [I was taping a segment for "Follow the Money" with Eric Bolling; it will air tonight.]

3. Williams to Spencer:

Great! We're working on lining up the other side -- probably someone from [Hamas-linked] CAIR like Ibrahim Hooper to defend the show. Could you please pass on your phone number so we can get in touch with you when we have further details?

4. Spencer to Williams:

I'd be glad to appear with Hooper, but he will not appear with me; he fears how I would expose him. In any case, I'm at xxx-xxx-xxxx.

5. Williams to Spencer:

Ah yes, just found that out on the phone with him. We've run into this several times (debaters backing out, possible debaters refusing to face certain opponents, editors unwilling to feature certain figures) and will probably have to scrap the debate idea... if something works out, we'll call.

I knew that Honest Ibe would not appear with me because he has backed out before. The only time we appeared on a show together was in a memorable segment with Keith Olbermann way back around 2003. Since then Hooper has ducked me again and again.

And why is that? If I were really the ridiculous hatemonger that the merry stomach-stapled beekeeper Hooper and his henchmen portray me to be, then it should be easy to destroy me in a debate and discredit me forever. But Hooper, in his black little heart of hearts, knows that isn't true. He knows that what I say about Islam and jihad is true, and that he can't refute it. And he knows that I will expose Hamas-linked CAIR as the unindicted co-conspirators and friends of jihad that they are. And so in a desperate attempt to stave off the truth, he refuses to debate me.

Also, it's part of the ongoing strategy of Hamas-linked CAIR to pretend that anti-jihadists are outside the bounds of acceptable discourse, so as to marginalize us all and silence all voices standing up against the global jihad and Islamic supremacism. Hamas-linked CAIR hopes that if they keep repeating the Goebbels-worthy Big Lie that fighting for freedom and equality of rights amounts to "bigotry" and "hatred," a sufficient number of people will buy it to render the U.S. mute and defenseless before the advancing jihad.

Isn't that right, Ibe? (He has Jihad Watch bookmarked, so give him a hearty greeting.)

And the bigots and haters over at Hamas-linked CAIR, an unindicted co-conspirator in a terror funding case that has seen several of its officials convicted for terror-related crimes, are crying "bigotry." Apparently Lowe's, since it initially advertised on the misleading All-American Muslim show, must advertise on it forever or be cast out of politically correct Paradise. In a sane world, this would be called a shakedown.

More on this story. "California Senator Threatens Boycott After Lowe's Pulls Ads from Muslim-American Reality Show," from the Associated Press, December 11 (thanks to all who sent this in):

LOS ANGELES – A state senator from Southern California was considering calling for a boycott of Lowe's stores after the home improvement chain pulled its advertising from a reality show about Muslim-Americans.

Calling the retail giant's decision "un-American" and "naked religious bigotry," Sen. Ted Lieu, D-Torrance, told The Associated Press on Sunday that he would also consider legislative action if Lowe's doesn't apologize to Muslims and reinstate its ads. The senator sent a letter outlining his complaints to Lowe's Chief Executive Officer Robert A. Niblock.

The retail giant stopped advertising on TLC's "All-American Muslim" after a group called the Florida Family Association complained the show was "propaganda that riskily hides the Islamic agenda's clear and present danger to American liberties and traditional values."

The program premiered last month and chronicles the lives of five families from Dearborn, Mich., a Detroit suburb with a large Muslim and Arab-American population.

"The show is about what it's like to be a Muslim in America, and it touches on the discrimination they sometimes face. And that kind of discrimination is exactly what's happening here with Lowe's," Lieu said.

The Florida group sent three emails to its members, asking them to petition Lowe's to pull its advertising. Its website was updated to say that "supporters' emails to advertisers make a difference."

Suehaila Amen, whose family is featured on "All-American Muslim," said she was disappointed by the Lowe's decision.

"I'm saddened that any place of business would succumb to bigots and people trying to perpetuate their negative views on an entire community," Amen, 32, told The Detroit News on Sunday.

Lowe's issued a statement Sunday apologizing for having "managed to make some people very unhappy." The North Carolina-based company did not say whether it would reinstate advertising on the show.

The apology doesn't go far enough, Lieu said. The senator vowed to look into whether Lowe's violated any California laws and said he would also consider drafting a senate resolution condemning the company's actions.

"We want to raise awareness so that consumers will know during this holiday shopping season that Lowe's is engaging in religious discrimination," he said.

Religious discrimination? You mean Lowe's is advertising on all the Christian and Jewish reality shows, but not on the Muslim one? Actually the show itself is a manifestation of religious discrimination, since there is no counterpart to it depicting people of any other faith.

In addition to an apology and reinstatement of the ads, Lieu said he hoped Lowe's would make an outreach to the community about bias and bigotry....

"Individuals and groups have strong political and societal views on this topic, and this program became a lightning rod for many of those views," the company's statement said. "As a result we did pull our advertising on this program. We believe it is best to respectfully defer to communities, individuals and groups to discuss and consider such issues of importance."

Lieu's office said a decision was expected Wednesday or Thursday on whether to proceed with the boycott.

Dawud Walid, Michigan director of the [Hamas-linked] Council on American-Islamic Relations, said his group felt "extreme disappointment" at Lowe's "capitulation to bigotry."

Walid said he has heard expressions of anger and calls for a boycott by Muslims but said a key to resolving the Lowe's advertising controversy will be how non-Muslim religious leaders and others react to Lowe's decision.

"I will be picking up the phone tomorrow to some of our friends and allies to explain the situation to them," Walid said Sunday.

CAIR's Minnesota chapter led a personal attack on the credibility of Omar Jamal and Abdi Bihi in connection with their planned presence at a conference whose literature described al-Shabaab as an "Islamic extremist terrorism organization," to which CAIR took exception.

There are at least two noteworthy aspects to this story: First, the threats are a reprise of the old chestnut "Say Islam is a Religion of Peace, or we'll kill you." The second is that CAIR is caught in its own game, for as hard as it has worked to cast all criticism as incitement to a violent "backlash," at least where Islamic teachings and advocacy groups are concerned. How about their intense criticism of Omar Jamal and Abdi Bihi? If CAIR Minnesota is to hold itself to the standards it imposes on others, it would have to apologize, shut up, pay up, and disband.

Then again, claiming victim status tends to require a certain ideological pedigree, and the right connections. "FBI Investigating Facebook Death Threats on Somali Advocate," by Tom Lyden for Fox 9 News, December 2 (thanks to The Religion of Peace):

MINNEAPOLIS - The FBI and local police are investigating death threats against Omar Jamal, a well-known leader in the Minneapolis Somali community.
Jamal says he began receiving the threats a few weeks ago on his Facebook page. Those threats are allegedly coming from Mogadishu and the terror group al-Shabaab.
Jamal tells FOX 9 he began receiving those threats after the Council on American Islamic Relations (CAIR) criticized him and another Somali leader for being anti-Muslim .
The FBI is searching Facebook records to see if it can identify the individual sending the threats.
Omar Jamal and Abdi Bihi were the first to blow the whistle on the effort to recruit Minnesotan Somalis for terrorism in Somalia . Three of the young men who disappeared from Minneapolis would later become suicide bombers in Kenya and Somalia for the terror group al-Shabaab.
That stance earned them a seat on CAIR's bad side, and the group recently sent a letter attacking both men's education and experience while asking local police departments to boycott a Thursday conference where the two will be keynote speakers.
"These individuals, who have no credibility in the Somali community, are going to be educating law enforcement," the letter read in part.
Yet, both men have been consulted by government leaders in the past. Jamal is now a United Nations representative of the Somali government. Jamal has also spoken before the National Press Club and has been sought after as a spokesman for the Somali community.

They decided to talk about something no one wants to talk about. That's where they seem to have gotten into trouble.

Hamas-linked CAIR continues its relentless campaign against anti-terror efforts of all kinds. This is of a piece with its at least outwardly successful campaign to drive the truth about Islam and jihad out of FBI training materials for agents who are supposed to be combating terrorism.

Pamela Geller has the story: Hamas-linked CAIR sent out an alert entitled "CAIR Concerned About FBI's Use of 'Outreach' to Spy on Muslims." Geller brought this piece of Orwellian audacity back to reality with her headline: "AFDI/SIOA Concerned About Hamas-linked CAIR's Use of 'Outreach' to Spy On, Bully, Intimidate and Lie to Government Agencies Nationwide."

The Hamas-linked CAIR statement expresses "concern about the 'chilling effect' on constitutionally-protected activities that may result from the apparent use of FBI community outreach efforts to secretly gather intelligence on American Muslim communities, groups and individuals.

According to documents obtained by the American Civil Liberties Union (ACLU), "the FBI is using its extensive community outreach to Muslims and other groups to secretly gather intelligence in violation of federal law."

Clearly any activities that really do violate federal law should be stopped immediately. But note that Hamas-linked CAIR has complained about virtually every step law enforcement has taken to try to stop jihad activity in the U.S. Their complaints have a chilling effect on counter-jihad and anti-terror efforts. And that chilling effect has never come up as a cause for concern in any CAIR statement.

This is especially rich, as Muhammad Malik (here, Mohammad) has in the past been involved in attempts to put a more "moderate" face on Islamic teachings, particularly where apostasy is concerned. When the audience is different, the message is different. "Occupy Miami boss led 'Nuke Israel' rally," by Aaron Klein for World Net Daily, November 24 (thanks to The Religion of Peace):

The recent executive director of the controversial Council on American-Islamic Relations' South Florida chapter is a founder and spokesman of Occupy Miami, WND has learned.
Mohammad Malik currently is as an activist with several other Islamic groups.
He has led hate-filled anti-Israel protests in which participants were filmed wearing Hamas paraphernalia while chanting "Nuke Israel" and "Go back to the oven" – a reference to Jews being killed in the Holocaust.
Malik has been widely quoted in the Florida news media in recent weeks speaking for Occupy Miami.
The Miami Herald identified Malik as one of the organizers of Occupy's Miami's downtown campsite headquarters.
"We've established that we can be here," Malik told the Herald, speaking as one of the first Occupy Miami organizers. "People said we were stupid amateurs who don't know what we're doing. ... But we did it. We've survived and we're growing."
Last week, the Florida Independent reported Miami police had asked Occupy activists to temporarily leave their camp digs.
The Independent quoted Malik, identified as protesting with the group since the beginning, as stating there were "a lot of cops" in the area, but protesters were "trying to figure out the situation so that it doesn't escalate."
The Independent previously quoted Malik as an "unemployed Miami native who has worked with the ACLU and is the current spokesperson for Occupy Miami."
In September 2010, Malik was appointed as the director of CAIR's South Florida chapter, covering the region of Broward, Palm Beach and Miami-Dade counties.
In March 2010, Malik organized a CAIR dinner in Miami. The keynote speaker was Siraj Wahhaj, who was named as an unindicted co-conspirator in the 1993 World Trade Center bombing. Wahhaj has also defended the convicted WTC bomb plotters and has urged the Islamic takeover of America.
Malik departed CAIR several months ago. He previously worked for ACLU Florida, coordinating its Racial Justice and Voting Rights Projects.
He did not return email and phone requests for comment.
Nezar Hamze, the current director of CAIR-South Florida, told WND yesterday that Malik departed his Islamic group under friendly terms.
"He left several months ago, maybe almost a year ago," said Hamze. "He got a better position, I think, at the ACLU," he said.
Malik has served as coordinator of several other Islamic groups, such as the South Florida Palestine Solidarity Network, through which he has organized hate-filled protests; the American Muslims for Emergency Relief; and Students for Justice in Palestine.
Malik himself was the principal organizer of numerous anti-Israel rallies.
A rally in March was titled "Miami's Third Intifada Rally for Palestine."
During the demonstration, protesters reportedly chanted a slogan often used by Hamas and other Palestinian radicals calling for the destruction of Israel: "From the river to the sea, Palestine will be free."
A Malik-led rally in December 2008 reportedly drew 200 to 300 rowdy supporters, with some screaming for Jews to "go back to the ovens."
The Florida Sun-Sentinel featured a picture with the caption "Malik incites the crowd."
YouTube video and Internet pictures from the protest depict rally-goers wearing Hamas logos on hats and scarves.
The Florida Jewish Voice newspaper reported Malik's rally began as the Islamic crowd squared off against Israel supporters outside the First Baptist Church in downtown Ft. Lauderdale.
One protester reportedly shouted, "Your mother is a wh*re," then broke into, "Nuke, nuke Israel. Nuke, nuke Israel," followed by, "Go to hell; go to hell; go to hell!"
Another woman, wearing a headscarf, shouted: "Go steal other lands. Go! Murderers! Go back to the oven! You need a big oven."
Malik himself was quoted calling Israel's actions ''collective punishment," accusing the Jewish state of "fuel[ing] terrorism."
Wahhaj, brought in to keynote Malik's CAIR dinner last year, repeatedly has urged the U.S. to accept Islamic law. Discover the Networks notes Wahhaj in 1991 predicted America will fall unless it "accepts the Islamic agenda."
The next year, he stated, "Hear what I'm telling you well. The Americans are not your friends. ... The Canadians are not your friends. ... The Europeans are not your friends. Your friend is Allah, the Messenger and those who believe."...

There is much more.

Heh. Just as Islamic supremacists and their useful idiots in the mainstream media such as Spencer Ackerman, Matt Duss and Adam Serwer are crowing over their apparent victory in intimidating the FBI into dropping all materials that tell the truth about Islam and jihad from agent training, Obama signs a law prohibiting FBI cooperation with Hamas-linked unindicted co-conspirators such as CAIR and ISNA -- which shows the hazards of not reading the bill.

"PJM Exclusive: New Law Cuts Ties Between FBI and Terror-Tied Groups," by Patrick Poole at PJ Media, November 22 (thanks to Wimpy):

When Barack Obama signed the continuing resolution this past weekend averting another potential government shutdown, it’s doubtful that he was aware that tucked into the bill, which funds several federal agencies through the fiscal year and extends the continuing resolution for the rest of the government until December 16, is a provision that may dramatically impact what Islamic groups and leaders the FBI and other law enforcement agencies can continue to work with.

Under Division B, Title II of the bill, under the Federal Bureau of Investigation-Salaries and Expenses section, is the following provision:

Liaison partnerships- The conferees support the FBI’s policy prohibiting any formal non-investigative cooperation with unindicted co-conspirators in terrorism cases. The conferees expect the FBI to insist on full compliance with this policy by FBI field offices and to report to the Committees on Appropriations regarding any violation of the policy.

The most obvious group that this will impact is the Council on American-Islamic Relations (CAIR), which was named unindicted co-conspirator in the Holy Land Foundation case — the largest terrorism-finance trial in American history. During the trial, FBI Dallas Agent Lara Burns testified that CAIR was a front for the terrorist group Hamas.

Following the trial, which resulted in guilty verdicts on all counts and lengthy prison terms for all five Holy Land executives, the FBI was forced to cut ties with CAIR – a decision that CAIR claimed would hurt local communities and that prompted other Muslim groups, like the Muslim Public Affairs Council (MPAC), to threaten to stop cooperation with the FBI unless CAIR was reinstated. In a February 2010 letter to members of Congress, Assistant Attorney General Robert Weich forwarded evidence submitted by federal prosecutors in the trial and court testimony concerning CAIR’s ties to the Hamas-controlled Palestine Committee and that committee’s role in supporting Hamas.

Stung by their loss of access to federal law enforcement agencies, some of the Islamic organizations named as unindicted co-conspirators in the case unsuccessfully sued to have their names removed from the list. In a 2009 unsealed decision by federal Judge Jorge Solis, the court found that the government should have submitted the unindicted co-conspirators list under seal, and ordered the list resealed (a hollow victory since the list is readily available), but declined to remove the groups and individuals named.

In fact, in his decision Judge Solis recounted the evidence submitted by the government that justified CAIR’s being named unindicted co-conspirator in the case:

The Government identifies four portions of the record from the first trail that purportedly established that CAIR was a “joint venturer and co-conspirator”: (1) a Government exhibit showing the objective of the Palestine Committee is to support Hamas; (2) a Government exhibit showing CAIR founder Omar Ahmad is part of the Palestine Committee and Mousa Abu Marzook is its head; (3) a Government exhibit listing CAIR as part of the Palestine Committee; and (4) the testimony of Special Agent Lara Burns and accompanying exhibits placing the CAIR founder at the 1993 Philadelphia conference and describing the CAIR founder’s mediation of a dispute between HLF and Ashqar over Hamas fundraising . (Resp. at 12-13.) The Government does not mention any occasion where it used the 801(d)(2)(E) hearsay exception to introduce a statement of CAIR. The four pieces of evidence the government relies on, as discussed below, do create at least a prima facie case as to CAIR‘s involvement in a conspiracy to support Hamas. (p. 6-7) (emphasis added)

But it wasn’t just CAIR among the unindicted co-conspirators that Solis focused on, but also the Islamic Society of North America (ISNA), which bills itself as the largest Muslim umbrella group in the country, and the North American Islamic Trust (NAIT), which owns the property to more than one-quarter of all mosques in North America. Solis wrote that the government had “produced ample evidence to establish the associations of CAIR, ISNA and NAIT with HLF, the Islamic Association for Palestine (‘IAP’), and with Hamas.” He also wrote: “The Muslim Brotherhood supervised the creation of the ‘Palestine Committee,’ which was put in charge of other organizations, such as HLF, IAP, UASR, and ISNA.” And also: “During the [1993 Philadelphia] conference, Palestine Committee members discussed using ISNA as official cover for their activities.”

What impact this new legislation will have remains to be seen, but it is clearly intended to roll back the Obama administration’s penchant for relying on groups identified by government prosecutors as fronts for designated terrorist organizations as partners for “outreach.”

Read it all.

CAIR's cofounder and longtime Board chairman (Omar Ahmad), as well as its chief spokesman (Honest Ibe Hooper), have made Islamic supremacist statements.

So the fact that Hamas-linked CAIR would slam the Muslim opponents of a jihad terror group should come as no surprise to anyone.

An update on this story. "CAIR Slams Muslim Foes of al-Shabaab," from IPT News, November 15 (thanks to Pamela Geller):

Both Omar Jamal and Abdirizak Bihi are Muslims. But CAIR's Minnesota chapter attacked them over their involvement with a seminar on Somali culture and their communities in America held Thursday in St. Paul. It was sponsored by the Center for Somalia History Studies, an organization founded earlier this year by former Ramsey County Sheriff Bob Fletcher.

The seminar, which cost $150 per person to attend, covered a wide array of topics including "Clans and Sub Clans"; "The Ethiopia Issue"; "Black Hawk Down"; "Youth Gangs"; "Transition to America" and "Somali Culture."

One subject in particular incurred CAIR's wrath. It was entitled, "Al Shabaab: An Islamic Extremist Terrorism Organization." Al-Shabaab is an al-Qaida affiliate.

CAIR and nearly 30 other groups, ranging from the Minnesota chapter of the Muslim American Society to local mosques and Somali community organizations, complained that the description of al-Shabaab "fails to distinguish between Islam and terrorism."

CAIR-MN President A. Lori Saroya warned that conference attendees "will receive inaccurate and biased information about Muslims and Somalis." She expressed concern that the seminar would result in "a lot of bias and misinformation. "

Fletcher said before the conference that he had invited CAIR to attend to give its perspective. Saroya denied the group had received an invitation, but added that Somali groups wouldn't attend because that would give "legitimacy" to Bihi and another Shabaab critic: Jamal, a former activist in the Twin Cities who currently serves as a member of Somalia's United Nations delegation.

"These individuals, who have no credibility in the Somali community, are going to be educating law enforcement," the CAIR-MN letter read.

Minneapolis Star-Tribune columnist Jon Tevlin, who attended part of the conference, wrote that it "seemed like a pretty straight-forward history lesson." An hour of the daylong presentation was dedicated to al-Shabaab, "but considering that 20 young Somali men have been lured from the Twin Cities to fight with the organization, it only seemed logical. Very little was about religion, and I saw no criticism of the Muslim religion, only of terrorist acts," he added.

CAIR's Minnesota chapter previously came under fire for refusing to criticize al-Shabaab.

CAIR's comments about Bihi and Jamal amount to "character assassination," said Tom Lyden, a reporter for Fox 9 News in Minneapolis. The two are targets because they "were the first to blow the whistle on the effort to recruit Minnesotan Somalis for terrorism in Somalia," he said.

Three of the men who disappeared from the Twin Cities in recent years "would later become suicide bombers in Kenya and Somalia for the terror group al-Shabaab," Lyden wrote on his blog. "That stance earned them a seat on CAIR's bad side."

The attacks against Bihi are particularly unfair, Lyden wrote. Bihi has fought a tenacious and often lonely fight against jihadist recruitment in the Twin Cities, and Lyden pointed to the activist's devotion to helping Somali neighbors in need. It is not uncommon to find Bihi devoting his time to translating for a Somali mother who needs social services or helping someone who wants to send money to relatives in Somalia.

Bihi has repeatedly blasted CAIR for attempting to muzzle local Somalis who take a public stand against al-Shabaab. In June 2009, he was among 50 people who protested outside a CAIR ice-cream social event for discouraging local Somalis from cooperating with the FBI. "We don't want anyone to come to our community and tell us to shut up," Bihi said.

His teenage nephew was among the Minnesota Somalis killed while fighting for al-Shabaab. In a subsequent interview with the Investigative Project on Terrorism, Bihi criticized CAIR and local mosque officials for putting roadblocks in the way of Somali cooperation with the FBI.

Lyden believes CAIR's real objection is to Bihi's "outspoken stance that some local mosques have fostered an environment that encouraged the radicalization of young Somali men" – a story he has reported on with regard to the Abubakr as-Saddique mosque in Minneapolis.

The House Homeland Security Committee staff reported that on July 5, a Saudi cleric who had denounced al-Shabaab at that mosque was assaulted by men shouting "Allahu Akhbar" ("God is Great"). The assault was widely reported on jihadist websites, with Islamists overseas learning about the incident before most residents of the Twin Cities area.

For close to three years, Lyden wrote that he has tried unsuccessfully to elicit a comment from CAIR about the missing Somali youth who have left Minnesota to fight for al-Shabaab. But CAIR hasn't said a word. "For an organization that is supposed to represent Muslim Americans, I think that silence is particularly strange," he added.

CAIR and its allies have shown much less reticence about slurs and ad hominem attacks on non-Islamist Muslims.

In April, Rep. Keith Ellison, D-Minn., a close political ally of CAIR and a frequent speaker at its fundraisers, told a largely Muslim audience in Rochester Hills, Mich. that the "only reason" Bihi had been invited to testify before Congress on jihadi recruitment was "because he fits the narrative of people who want to defame you."

Another CAIR target was Muslim scholar Khalid Duran, who has written that CAIR's hyperbolic attacks on his work elicited death threats from Jordanian Islamists....

DontTalkto FBI.jpgHamas-linked CAIR sent this out before it got angry with the NYPD

Hamas-linked CAIR and other Islamic supremacists are once again claiming victim status for Muslims and trying to use that status to deflect law enforcement attention away from Muslims in this country -- this time in New York. If they're successful, jihadists will have a free hand. "Angry Over Spying, Muslims Say: 'Don't Call NYPD,'" from the Associated Press, November 14 (thanks to Sr. Soph):

NEW YORK (AP) — Fed up with a decade of the police spying on the innocuous details of the daily lives of Muslims, activists in New York are discouraging people from going directly to the police with their concerns about terrorism, a campaign that is certain to further strain relations between the two groups.

Muslim community leaders are openly teaching people how to identify police informants, encouraging them to always talk to a lawyer before speaking with the authorities and reminding people already working with law enforcement that they have the right to change their minds. Some members of the community have planned a demonstration for next week.

Some government officials point to this type of outreach as proof that Muslims aren't cooperating in the fight against terrorism, justifying the aggressive spy tactics, while many in the Muslim community view it as a way to protect themselves from getting snared in a secret police effort to catch terrorists.

As a result, one of America's largest Muslim communities — in a city that's been attacked twice and targeted more than a dozen times — is caught in a downward spiral of distrust with the nation's largest police department: The New York City Police Department spies on Muslims, which makes them less likely to trust police. That reinforces the belief that the community is secretive and insular, a belief that current and former NYPD officials have said was one of the key reasons for spying in the first place.

The outreach campaign follows an Associated Press investigation that revealed the NYPD had dispatched plainclothes officers to eavesdrop in Muslim communities, often without any evidence of wrongdoing. Restaurants serving Muslims were identified and photographed. Hundreds of mosques were investigated, and dozens were infiltrated. Police used the information to build ethnic databases on daily life inside Muslim neighborhoods.

Many of these programs were developed with the help of the CIA.

At a recent "Know Your Rights" session for Brooklyn College students, someone asked why Muslims who don't have anything to hide should avoid talking to police.

"Most of the time it's a fishing expedition," answered Ramzi Kassem, a law professor at the City University of New York. "So the safest thing you can do for yourself, your family and for your community, is not to answer."

New York Republican Rep. Peter King said this kind of reaction from the Muslim community is "disgraceful."...

Indeed.

Muslim groups have previously organized educational programs around the country describing a person's legal rights, such as when they must present identification to a police officer and when they can refuse to answer police questions. A California chapter of a national Muslim organization posted a poster on its website that warned Muslims not to talk to the FBI. The national organization ultimately asked the California branch to remove the poster from the website.

In New York, the AP stories about the NYPD and internal police documents have outraged some Muslims and provided evidence of tactics that they suspected were being used to watch them all along. These disclosures have intensified the outreach campaigns in New York....

At another meeting, organized by the [Hamas-linked] Council on American-Islamic Relations, students watched a film of two actors portraying FBI agents talking their way into a young Muslim's home and interrogating him. At the meeting, students were warned not to speak with police even if their parents, imams or Muslim clerics urge them to cooperate.

"You'll even hear imams saying, 'As long as I obey the law, I have nothing to worry about.' But that's not how it plays out on the ground," said Cyrus McGoldrick, CAIR New York's civil rights manager.

CAIR has had a strained relationship with law enforcement and was named an unindicted co-conspirator in a terrorist financing case....

Now that is very surprising and refreshing to see in a mainstream media news story.

This is part of the Great American Islamic Interest Group Shell Game on the nature of... that thing we're not supposed to talk about (but we do). It goes something like this, not necessarily in order.

1. Yes, we see there is a problem and we feel your pain. In fact, we're victims here, too (see next item).

2. Our religion has been hijacked by a Tiny Minority of Extremists.

3. Let us handle this ourselves. We'll take care of it, except there's not really a problem except for a Misunderstanding of Islam, for which the solution is a return to the fundamental texts and teachings of Islam.

4. Stop quoting chapter and verse of the fundamental texts and teachings of Islam, and Muslims who use them to justify violence and the subjugation of nonbelievers. You'll cause "backlash" and "radicalize" people against you. Also, you don't speak Arabic. Did we mention that? Alhamdulillah, we did!

5. You won't stop criticizing us? You hate us. And criticizing us is incitement. To "backlash." You're an extremist. Probably a neo-con, Christian "fundie" extremist. Extremism is the problem across the board.

6. But don't say "Islamic extremist." This isn't really Islam, and the problem isn't Islam. Please also stop noticing the disproportionate participation of Muslims quoting chapter and verse in acts of terrorism (see also: Item 4).

7. Just... shut up. We're the victims here (see Items 1, 5). You're the problem.

"Groups object to St. Paul Somali seminar, call it anti-Muslim," by Richard Chin for the Pioneer Press, November 7:

A group of Islamic and Somali organizations said Monday that an upcoming educational seminar on Somalia organized by former Ramsey County sheriff Bob Fletcher is anti-Muslim and anti-Somali and will lead to a rise in racial and religious profiling.
The seminar, called "Understanding the People of Somalia," will be put on Thursday at the Crowne Plaza Hotel in St. Paul by the Center for Somalia History Studies, an organization founded by Fletcher this year.
The seminar brochure says training will be provided on al-Shabaab, "an Islamic Extremist Organization," and says that topics covered will include "Clans and Sub Clans," "Black Hawk Down," "Youth Gangs," "Transition to America" and "Somali Culture."
But a message being emailed to law enforcement agencies throughout the state who might be sending people to the seminar warns that the attendees "will receive inaccurate and biased information about Muslims and Somalis," according to A. Lori Saroya, president of the Minnesota chapter of the Council on American-Islamic Relations (CAIR-MN).
The message says two speakers at the seminar - Omar Jamal, former executive director of the Somali Justice Advocacy Center, and Abdirizak Bihi, director of the Somali Education and Social Advocacy Center - are "unrepresentative of their community and unqualified to speak on the topics outlined in the upcoming presentation."
The message describes Jamal as "highly controversial and a convicted felon" and Bihi as having a "checkered past" and "no known educational qualifications."
A woman obtained a harassment restraining order against Bihi in 2004 after she said he stalked and threatened her in a dispute over Somali terrorism. This year, she praised him for his work with Somali youth.
On Monday, Bihi told the Pioneer Press that he did not wish to immediately comment.
The CAIR-MN message also objected to the description of al-Shabaab as an "Islamic extremist terrorism" organization because it "fails to distinguish between Islam and terrorism."
The message is endorsed by about 30 organizations, according to Saroya, including mosques, Islamic centers, the Muslim American Society of Minnesota and Somali Action Alliance.
Saroya said she feared the seminar would result in "just a lot of bias and misinformation."
Fletcher, now a St. Paul police watch commander, noted that aside from himself, the three other speakers at the seminar are Somali.
"I am befuddled that three Somali persons could be perceived as anti-Somali," he said.

The whole point is to derail the discussion from unpleasant and inconvenient matters.

He said that Jamal has been a controversial figure but that he holds an official position as a Somali representative to the United Nations. Fletcher also said Jamal is not a convicted felon.
"That's a slanderous statement," Fletcher said.
Jamal declined to comment, saying he'd rather leave that to Fletcher.
Federal jurors in Memphis, Tenn., found Jamal guilty of five felony counts of immigration fraud in 2005.
Fletcher said it is correct to characterize al-Shabaab as an Islamic extremist terrorism organization.
The State Department designated al-Shabaab a foreign terrorist organization in February 2008.
However, Fletcher said, "the conference is directed at the history and culture of the community. There will be very little discussion of religion itself."
He said he has invited Saroya to participate in the seminar.
Saroya said CAIR-MN was not invited to be part of the seminar, adding that "no Somali organization" would sign on because "that would give Bihi and Jamal legitimacy."
"I would hope that people would wait to see the training before they pass judgment on it," he said. "Ninety percent of the training will be viewed as really not controversial."
"It's an informational seminar. There's nothing ideological about it," said Dahir Jibreel, the current executive director of the Somali Justice Advocacy Center, who will be speaking at the meeting.
"If there's one person who can speak for Somali issues to the media, it's myself," Jibreel said. "There is nothing anti-Muslim or anti-Somali in the seminar. I am a Muslim."
Fletcher said the $150, 8 a.m. to 4 p.m. seminar is being marketed primarily to government agencies that serve the Somali community. He said he expects fewer than 100 participants.

In the wake of the Islamic supremacist anti-free speech firebombing in Paris, Hamas-linked CAIR is yet again trying to portray Muslims as victims. This time, they're pretending that Muslims in the Detroit area are threatened by Christians who are coming to the city to pray. Perhaps Dawud Walid of Hamas-linked CAIR is so used to Muslims storming out of mosques after hearing the Friday sermon and rioting or terrorizing non-Muslims that he assumed a Christian gathering would work the same way. "Christian call to prayer riles Muslims: Mosques get warned to up security ahead of Ford Field event," by Oralandar Brand-Williams and Shawn D. Lewis for The Detroit News, November 2 (thanks to all who sent this in):

Dearborn — The local head of a national Muslim civil rights group says a Christian prayer summit to be held at Ford Field next week promotes anti-Muslim sentiment and is warning local mosques to step up their security.

Dawud Walid, executive director of the Council on American-Islamic Relations — Michigan, met Wednesday with Muslim activists to voice his concern over the rhetoric he fears could be at the center of the event Nov. 11.

"There's a bigger force or movement behind this prayer summit and how they're literally demonizing Muslims," he said.

But Metro Detroit pastors involved in the event say the gathering is merely meant to help Detroit, not target Muslims.

"I don't know anything about that," said Bishop Edgar Vann of Second Ebenezer Church. "People are coming here to pray for our city and that's what I'm concerned about. Christians will be praying, but it's open to anyone."

The Call is being promoted as a 24-hour long prayer event aimed at lifting the city out of its "greatest darkness." Its website says attendees will "gather to this city that has become a microcosm of our national crisis — economic collapse, racial tension, the rising tide of the Islamic movement, and the shedding of innocent blood of our children in the streets and our unborn."

Senior pastor Jerry Weinzierl of Grace Christian Church in Sterling Heights said the event is not anti-Muslim."It's not to pray against anybody," he said. "It is a very positive movement of Christians gathering together to pray."

Walid advised the heads of local mosques to "maintain security at all entrances, and make sure to notify the police immediately if suspicious persons congregate on mosque property."

Such as...persons with ties to Hamas or other jihad terror groups?

This morning I got a call from someone who saw my number listed as the media contact on this press release. He sounded agitated, and more than a little unbalanced. After verifying that I was Robert Spencer, he fulminated against the defenders of freedom and said, "We all know what the real hate group is."

I called the number back and asked what it was; a rather puzzled secretary told me it was "Oppenheimer financial firm." It was Oppenheimer's Los Angeles office.

Does Oppenheimer Holdings know that one of their employees is making prank calls to human rights activists and heaping abuse on them because he doesn't like their politics?

Via Yahoo News:

NEW YORK, Nov. 2, 2011 /PRNewswire-USNewswire/ -- A prominent national human rights and advocacy organization today applauded the Florida State Tea Party Convention's decision to disinvite a scheduled speaker, controversial Islamic supremacist Hassan Shibly of the Hamas-linked hate group the Council on American-Islamic Relations (CAIR).

The American Freedom Defense Initiative (AFDI) had earlier today called for such a move on the part of Tea Party officials. Shibly was scheduled to speak at the Florida State Tea Party Convention in Daytona Beach, November 4-6, 2011.

"We applaud this decision as a victory for common sense and good judgment," said AFDI National Executive Director Pamela Geller. "Hamas-linked CAIR is given a platform everywhere -- the mainstream media and even government and law enforcement routinely go to them. It is their foes who never have a platform." Geller will be addressing the Convention as scheduled.

The Investigative Project on Terrorism has noted that Shibly, the director of Hamas-linked CAIR's Tampa chapter, "has a track record of defending terrorist groups and acting as an apologist for radical Islam. Following the 2006 Israel-Lebanon War, Shibly granted legitimacy to Hizballah by characterizing it as a 'resistance movement' that provides valued social services to the Lebanese people. 'They're absolutely not a terrorist organization,' Shibly said, and 'any war against them is illegitimate.'" Hizballah has been on the U.S. State Department's list of Foreign Terrorist Organizations since 1999.

Hamas-linked CAIR frequently attempts to intimidate numerous government agencies and citizens' groups into dropping events featuring foes of international jihad activity, including Geller. Last week it falsely claimed in a press release that Florida Governor Rick Scott and Senator Marco Rubio declined to speak at the Florida State Tea Party Convention because Geller was speaking as well. In reality, neither Rubio nor Scott had ever confirmed their appearance at the Convention; they were invited but due to scheduling conflicts are unable to attend. CAIR, however, never corrected its false information, or apologized to the Tea Party or to Geller.

Hamas-linked CAIR itself has numerous ties to jihad terror, and consequently has been listed on AFDI's Threats to Freedom Index. Recently U.S. District Judge Jorge A. Solis cited "ample evidence" that CAIR participated in a "criminal conspiracy" led by the Holy Land Foundation, Hamas's main fund-raising arm in the U.S. CAIR was named an unindicted co-conspirator in the Holy Land Foundation Hamas terror funding case.

The FBI has discontinued all contact with CAIR because of its terror ties.

CAIR has a long record of duplicity and deception. Although it has received millions of dollars in donations from foreign Islamic entities, it has not registered as a foreign agent as required by the Foreign Agents Registration Act (FARA), despite spreading Islamic supremacist propaganda within the United States.

Although it presents itself as a civil rights group, CAIR actually has numerous links to Islamic supremacist and jihad terror groups.

* Ghassan Elashi, founder of CAIR's Texas chapter, in 2009 received a 65-year prison sentence for funneling over $12 million from the Islamic charity known as the Holy Land Foundation to the jihad terrorist group Hamas, which is responsible for murdering hundreds of Israeli civilians

* Mousa Abu Marzook, a former CAIR official, was designated by the U.S. government in 1995 as a "terrorist and Hamas leader." He now is a Hamas leader in Syria.

* Randall Royer, CAIR's former civil rights coordinator, in 2004 began serving a 20-year prison sentence for aiding al-Qaida and the Taliban against American troops in Afghanistan and recruiting for Lashkar e-Taiba, the jihadist group responsible for the 2008 Mumbai jihad massacres.

* Bassem Khafagi, CAIR's former community relations director, was arrested for involvement with the Islamic Assembly of North America, which was linked to al-Qaida. After pleading guilty to visa and bank fraud charges, Khafagi was deported.

* Rabih Haddad, a former CAIR fundraiser, was deported for his work with the Global Relief Foundation (which he co-founded), a terror-financing organization.

AFDI/SIOA is one of America's foremost organizations defending human rights, religious liberty, and the freedom of speech against Islamic supremacist intimidation and attempts to bring elements of Sharia to the United States.

Hamas-linked CAIR claimed that Senator Marco Rubio and Governor Rick Scott of Florida pulled out of a Tea Party event because Pamela Geller was speaking. CAIR was lying, of course. Will Honest Ibe Hooper or his Florida henchmen issue a retraction and apology? I won't be holding my breath. War is deceit, eh, Ibe?

Here is the Tea Party group's press release setting the record straight, as published at Atlas Shrugs:

Council of American-Islamic Relations (CAIR) Makes hasty press release for attempted political exploitation of Senator Rubio and Governor Scott Press Release October 30, 2011

Response to press release from the Council of American-Islamic Relations (CAIR) thanking Governor Scott and Senator Rubio for not speaking at the Florida State Tea Party State Convention in Daytona Beach Fl.

http://news.yahoo.com/cair-fl-thanks-rubio-scott-avoiding-event-hate-195012459.html

Senator Rubio and Governor Rick Scott never confirmed their appearance at our Florida Tea Party Convention. They were invited but due to scheduling conflicts are unable to attend. It was an error on my part that they were listed as confirmed speakers and our website has been corrected.

We thank CAIR for pointing out the mistake. We wish that the leadership of CAIR had checked with us first to confirm their status before sending out a mass press release stating that the Senator and the Governor were skipping our event.. We would like to thank Governor Scott and Senator Rubio for endorsing our convention and for scheduling a representative and or offering a letter of support in lieu of appearing at our convention. Its unfortunate their schedule will not permit their attendance in person. Senator Rubio has offered to send us a video and or a letter of support for all attendees in lieu of his appearance.

All guest speakers have a right to address the convention as per the 1st Amendment of the US Constitution and Senator Rubio and Governor Scott wish all the speakers well because they support their Constitutional rights.

Ms. Pamela Geller has a right to speak too. It is unfortunate that the Council of American Islamic Relations (CAIR) do not support her 1st Amendment rights even if they disagree with her message. This would fall in line with Sharia law.

The leadership of CAIR is welcome to speak in Daytona Beach at our convention. Perhaps they could discuss Sharia Law and its subjugation of women. They could talk about schools having to cater to their prayer needs, making sure our school text books are vetted by Muslims to make sure they are Sharia compliant. They could discuss child brides and the stoning of women after being buried up to their necks in sand for breaking Sharia Law. They could discuss Jihad which means war against the Kafirs or non believers with an ultimate goal to establish Sharia law world wide.

It looks like Muslims will get their Sharia law in Libya and Egypt thanks to military and political intervention by President Obama in direct violation of Article 2, Section 8 of the US Constitution.

We do welcome CAIR at our Convention to speak before or after Ms. Pam Geller addresses the crowds. Let us know your intent.

CAIR was offered the same opportunities to speak at the US Constitution and Freedom Rally on August 21st 2010 in Fort Walton Beach Florida but they never showed up. Instead CAIR tried to shut down the Constitutional speaking rights of gubernatorial, senatorial and congressional candidates by placing political pressure on them not speak at our rally. CAIR tried to disrupt our freedom of speech which could have also disrupted the Constitutional rights of Brigitte Gabriel the President of Act for America.

We all ignored the demands of CAIR and the event went ahead as planned. The Constitution does not capitulate to Sharia law or those who disagree with our message. The US Constitution is a strong and powerful document that sustains itself no matter how hard people try to usurp it. Ms. Pamela Geller is also welcome to speak at our US Constitution and Freedom Rally II on March 17th 2012. The leadership of CAIR is welcome to speak too. Instead of muzzling our free speech CAIR should embrace it. Any attempts by the leadership of CAIR to shut down our 1st Amendment rights will be ignored and or dealt with as required depending on the level of its severity.

God Bless America.

UPDATE: Pamela Geller has the last laugh.

Pamela Geller is scheduled to speak in Houston tonight, but the original venue for her talk, Hyatt Place, has caved to Islamic supremacist thugs and canceled her talk.

The Hamas-linked Council on American-Islamic Relations (CAIR) and other Islamic supremacist groups are conducting an ongoing campaign to discredit and marginalize everyone who dares to stand up against the jihad and Islamic supremacism. Central to this campaign is pressure against any organization or venue that dares to host a freedom fighter -- hence Hamas-linked CAIR's efforts to intimidate the FBI and the military into dropping invitations to me and other counter-jihadists, and its pressure on universities and private groups that host events featuring pro-freedom activists.

In Hamas-linked CAIR's "Islamophobia" report, "Same Hate, New Target: Islamophobia and Its Impact in the United States 2009-2010," the group claims that "it is not appropriate to label all, or even the majority of those, who question Islam and Muslims as Islamophobes," but this is just another lie: Hamas-linked CAIR names no one who "question[s] Islam and Muslims" but is not, in its view, an "Islamophobe," and in reality, everyone who stands for freedom against the jihad, Sharia and Islamic supremacism gets branded with this propagandistic and manipulative label. Hamas-linked CAIR is bent on marginalizing and discrediting every last individual who does not adopt a warmly positive stance toward the spread of Sharia in the West and all other manifestations of the advancing jihad.

Hamas-linked CAIR and its Islamic supremacist and Leftist allies are open enemies of the freedom of speech, and they're relentless in bringing pressure on any individual, group or venue that dares to step out of the political correct dhimmi lockstep. That's why we have to match them at every point. Wherever they succeed in intimidating a group or venue into dropping a talk by a freedom fighter, we have to bring just as much pressure to bear for the cause of justice, and let that group or venue know that we do not appreciate their failure to stand up for Constitutional principles when challenged. So please contact the Hyatt Place in Houston and tell them that since they canceled the Geller event, you will be staying elsewhere:

The stakes are very high. If we don't resist this Islamic supremacist thuggery, the Islamic supremacists will succeed in stamping out all discussion of the truth about Islam and jihad, thereby rendering us mute and defenseless before its advance. That's why we have to resist now, at every step, before it's too late. Contact the Hyatt. But don't just complain: host a counter-jihadist in your area. Stand for freedom.

Hamas-linked CAIR sent this out in its American Muslim News Briefs yesterday:

Sold-Out CAIR Banquet Raises $400K, Exceeding Fundraising Goal

(WASHINGTON, D.C., 10/16/11) –- Some 800 people turned out Saturday evening in Arlington, Va., for the annual fundraising banquet of the Council on American-Islamic Relations (CAIR).

The sold-out event, which featured a keynote address by Rep. Jim Moran (D-VA), exceeded its fundraising goal by bringing in more than $400,000 to support CAIR's civil rights and advocacy work.

"We thank all those who –- despite a poor economy –- donated to support CAIR's important work to defend the civil, constitutional and religious rights of Americans of all faiths," said CAIR National Executive Director Nihad Awad. "This strong demonstration of support clearly shows that the community understands the critical need for CAIR's work."

Note the hypocrisy. Hamas-linked CAIR routinely claims that Muslims are victimized and discriminated against in the United States. Yet they can get a useful idiot Congressman to speak at their banquet, and raise $400,000 there.

Note the exponential hypocrisy: Hamas-linked CAIR, the Center for American Progress and others have claimed that "Islamophobia" is a lucrative "industry" in which a small coterie of "hatemongers" are getting rich by proffering the patently ridiculous notion that Islam has something within it that incites some Muslims to violence. But the numbers they presented to support this claim were aggregates of money given over a period of many years to a number of different organizations, and were dwarfed by the amounts given to the Leftist and Islamic supremacist organizations that were claiming that Muslims were threatened by these allegedly rich "Islamophobes."

And now here again: Hamas-linked CAIR raises $400,000 at one banquet. The American Freedom Defense Initiative and its Stop the Islamization of America program, both of which I run with Pamela Geller, has never had an annual budget approaching $400,000. Nor has Jihad Watch. Never have we had a sitting Congressman address any of our events. The reality is that the Islamic supremacist machine in the U.S. is the one that is rich and well-funded. Freedom fighters are trying to scrape together two nickels to keep the barest of initiatives going.

If you support our work, please give to AFDI/SIOA or Jihad Watch (please specify in the note to the seller) by donating to director@jihadwatch.org at Paypal. It's tax deductible. We do not have huge resources, we do not have millionaires backing us, and we would do much more if we could afford to. At present we cannot. We are never going to give up or give in. But Hamas-linked CAIR has plenty of money to spread lies and defamation about freedom fighters, and to advance the cause of Sharia in America. We need your help to advance the cause of freedom.

He sent around this email, which I have received thousands of times; you probably have, too. Its language is harsh, but neither Hamas-linked CAIR nor Shahid Haque-Hausrath claim that anything in the email is actually false; they can't do that, because there is no false statement in it. It calls on Muslims in America to show clearly that they oppose jihad terrorism. Instead, here again they act in a high-handed, bullying manner toward non-Muslims who dare point out the fact of terrorism committed in the name of Islam. This only arouses more suspicion, which they then ascribe to "Islamophobia."

"Immigrations and Customs Enforcement official relieved of duties," by John S. Adams for the Great Falls Tribune, October 12 (thanks to Pamela Geller):

HELENA — A top Immigrations and Customs Enforcement official who sent an Islamophobic email to a Helena immigration attorney has been relieved of his supervisory duties, according to lawyers involved in the case.

Earlier this month, Bruce Norum, the supervisory detention and deportation officer for the Helena Department of Homeland Security ICE field office, forwarded a racially charged email to Shahid Haque-Hausrath, a Helena immigration attorney of Pakistani descent.

Haque-Hausrath, a natural-born U.S. citizen who was raised in a Muslim household, took offense to the email and filed official complaints with DHS and the U.S. Department of Justice. Haque-Hausrath's complaint maintained that it is unacceptable for a top-ranking ICE official with authority over immigrants of all races, nationalities and religious backgrounds to send such a racially charged email to anyone, especially from a work computer and during work hours.

What race is Islam again?

On Wednesday, Haque-Hausrath said he was contacted by Steven Branch, Norum's supervisor in Salt Lake City, who said Norum is no longer serving as the supervisory detention and deportation officer for the Montana office.

According to Haque-Hausrath, Branch, the director for ICE's Salt Lake City field office, contacted Haque-Hausrath's attorney last Friday to let him know that his office had received the complaint and was taking it seriously.

"He said he was taking swift action to make sure the credibility of his office wasn't called into question, and to make sure I was able to continue to perform my duties without bias or retaliation," Haque-Hausrath said. "He said he wanted to run a clean operation, and he understood that Bruce Norum's actions compromised the integrity of that operation."

ICE officials declined to comment on whether Norum's status as supervisory detention and deportation officer had changed. ICE officials in Helena, Boise and Salt Lake City all referred calls to public information officer Carl Rusnok in the Dallas field office. Rusnok was not able to provide any specific details on Wednesday.

"We want to make sure we're not violating anybody's privacy, especially when we're talking about an individual law enforcement officer," Rusnok said.

Haque-Hausrath said he also was contacted Wednesday by a special agent with the Justice Department's Office of Professional Responsibility. Haque-Hausrath said he is scheduled to meet with investigators next week to discuss Norum's email.

"An investigation into Mr. Norum's misconduct is going forward, and I am cooperating fully with that investigation," Haque-Hausrath said.

According to Haque-Hausrath, Branch told him on Friday that Norum had been replaced, at least on a temporary basis, by longtime ICE officer Stewart Carlson.

"Officer Carlson has been a deportation officer who worked under Mr. Norum for many years. I have a good working relationship with Mr. Carlson, and I was pleased to hear he would assume the role as acting (supervisory detention and deportation officer)," Haque-Hausrath said.

Carlson also declined to comment, forwarding all questions to Rusnok.

Shortly after the Tribune reported on Norum's email Sunday, the [Hamas-linked] Washington, D.C.-based Council on American-Islamic Relations, or CAIR, issued a press release demanding ICE take swift disciplinary action against Norum.

[Hamas-linked] CAIR also called for a review of ICE training on issues related to Islam and the American Muslim community.

"This incident is yet another example of why our nation's security and counterterrorism agencies need to completely review and reform training and educational materials dealing with any issue related to Islam or American Muslims," said [Hamas-linked] CAIR spokesman Ibrahim Hooper. "The fact that such a senior official would re-distribute materials questioning the loyalty of American Muslims is evidence of an internal breakdown in training and suggests that an atmosphere of intolerance may be present in the agency."

Honest Ibe Hooper and Hamas-linked CAIR want our counterterrorism materials to give no hint that Muslims ever see incitement to terrorism in their religion's texts and teachings. That would render us completely unprepared to deal with a threat that would blindside us every time it manifested itself. Could that be Hamas-linked CAIR's goal? Naaaah, couldn't be! They're moderates!

On Wednesday, Hooper said he welcomed the news that Norum has been relieved of his supervisory duties.

"I think it shows that ICE is taking this incident seriously, and we'll just have to wait for the ultimate outcome to make a final judgment," Hooper said. "Obviously we welcome this initial action, and we hope that further steps are taken."

Haque-Hausrath said if the investigation finds that Norum intentionally sent the inflammatory email to someone, regardless of whether he intended for Haque-Hausrath to be a recipient, then Norum should be terminated.

"My only hope is that an investigation is conducted fairly and that at the conclusion of the investigation, if Mr. Norum is found to have deliberately sent that message, then he should be terminated, and he should never serve in a supervisory capacity ever again," Haque-Hausrath said.

Just last week, Rep. Frank Wolf (R-VA) called out Norquist on the House floor for, among other things, his jihad ties. For more on Norquist, see Pamela Geller's exhaustive expose here. For more on Dawud Walid of Hamas-linked CAIR, see the IPT report here. For more on Muslim Brotherhood-linked Wajahat Ali, see here. And for the truth about the "Fear, Inc." smear piece on "Islamophobia," see here.

Now that Rick Perry is fading away, maybe some of the people who used to be very concerned about Grover Norquist's jihad connections, but who suddenly discovered that they weren't important after all as soon as he began palling around with Perry, will remember the reasons why they originally concluded that Norquist's influence was a negative thing. "Grover Norquist headlined conference with CAIR leader: Anti-tax crusader also featured with author of 'exposé' of 'Islam-bashing network,'" from WND, October 14:

Grover Norquist, perhaps the best-known conservative anti-tax campaigner, was a headliner at an Islamic leadership conference along with the director of the Council on American-Islamic Relations' Michigan branch and the co-author of a report that slanders critics of radical Islam, including Robert Spencer, Daniel Pipes and Steven Emerson.

Norquist, famous for his no-tax-increase pledge, was featured along with CAIR-Michigan Executive Director Dawud Walid and Wajahat Ali, co-author of "Fear, Inc.: The Roots of the Islamophobia Network in America," at the National Leadership Conference in Detroit Sept. 30 to Oct. 2, sponsored by the Arab American Institute.

Ali's book claims to expose "the Islam-bashing network in America," targeting Frank Gaffney and David Yerushalmi of the Center for Security Policy, along with Spencer, director of Jihad Watch; Pipes, director of the Middle East Forum; and Emerson, director of the Investigative Project on Terrorism.

Last week, Rep. Frank Wolf, R-Va., denounced Norquist from the House floor for his "unsavory" connections, including ties to known terrorist financiers Abdurahman Alamoudi and Sami Al-Arian, his support for the Ground Zero mosque and his advocacy for transferring Guantanamo detainees to U.S. soil.

"Simply put," said Wolf, "I believe Mr. Norquist is connected with or has profited from a number of unsavory people and groups out of the mainstream."

"Documentation shows that he has deep ties to supporters of Hamas and other terrorist organizations that are sworn enemies of the United States and our ally Israel," said Wolf.

Norquist called Wolf's speech a "hissy fit" and "a compilation of whack job criticisms," arguing the congressman is one of only six Republican members of the U.S. House who has refused to sign ATR's no-tax pledge.

The congressman did not back down from his remarks, however, asserting, "There's a clear pattern there. You need to look at who he's associated with."

One workshop at the Arab American Institute conference, titled "Defeating Hate Legislation: From Arizona Copycats to Sharia," discussed "the rampant emergence of hate legislation, including the Arizona copycat laws and Sharia bans now in nearly two dozen states across the country."

Norquist, founder of Americans for Tax Reform, was considered to be a major influence on President George W. Bush's view of Islam in the wake of the 9/11 attacks, notes Atlas Shrugs blogger and WND columnist Pamela Geller, convincing the president that Islam is a "religion of peace."

Norquist's office has not responded to WND's request for comment.

What a surprise.

CAIR's Michigan director Walid defended the radical Detroit imam who was killed in October 2009 in a shootout with the FBI, Luqman Ameen Abdullah, points out CAIR critic Andrew Whitehead, director of the website Anti-CAIR.

Walid described Abdullah as a benevolent, "very quiet" man who possibly was set up and murdered by the FBI. Whitehead notes, however, Abdullah once told followers that they should not "carry a pistol if you're going to police. You give them a bullet."

U.S. counter-terrorism officials regard CAIR as a front group for the Egypt-based Muslim Brotherhood, the parent of most of the major Islamic terrorist groups, including Hamas and al-Qaida. CAIR and some of its leaders were named unindicted co-conspirators in the largest terror finance case in U.S. history. The Washington, D.C.-based group is suing a father-and-son team that conducted an undercover probe that came up with 12,000 pages of internal documents confirming CAIR's role as a front for the Muslim Brotherhood and Hamas in the U.S. The findings were published in the WND Books best-selling expose "Muslim Mafia: Inside the Secret Underworld That's Conspiring to Islamize America"....

Norquist has used his influence in Washington to advance the careers of people such as Suhail Khan, a former Bush White House appointee whose family founded the Muslim Brotherhood in the U.S. and held fundraisers for al-Qaida's No. 2 man, Ayman al-Zawahiri.

Khan now is a member of the board of the American Conservative Union, the group that organizes the largest annual conservative conference in the country, CPAC. Norquist also serves on CPAC's board and the board of the National Rifle Association. He also is on the advisory board of GOProud, a homosexual group promoting same-sex marriage, open homosexuality in the U.S. military and hate-crimes laws.

The chief spokesman for Sen. Tom Coburn, R-Okla., said recently that Norquist has become the "chief cleric of Shariah tax law" in America.

Norquist, who is married Samah Alrayyes, a Palestinian Muslim, has insisted that there is no conflict between Saudi-style Islamic law and the Constitution, calling Islam "completely consistent with the U.S. Constitution and a free and open society."

Norquist is also behind the Republican candidacy of Imam Afif "David" Ramadan in Virginia's 87th legislative district. Ramadan is married to the daughter of a Shiite general in the Lebanese intelligence service, Ghanda Abdul Rahman Zoghbi....

IrumAbbasi.jpgAbbasi hard at work claiming victim status

I am just about to board a Southwest flight. If I get removed for working on "Jihad Watch" in the gate area, I'll let you know.

Irum Abbasi may have been wrongly singled out. Nonetheless, the involvement of Hamas-linked CAIR in her case is just one of many red flags. In reality, no one should be shedding any real tears for Irum Abbasi, especially Irum Abbasi. She says, "I have lived in the United States for 10 years. I am a U.S. citizen." So if she is a loyal U.S. citizen, she should understand that what happened to her is an unfortunate consequence of the fact that devout, observant Muslims worldwide, including hijab-wearing women, have carried out jihad terror attacks in the name of Islam, and so people who are entrusted with the safety of airline passengers have every reason to err on the side of suspicion. Those who are thus inconvenienced should consider it a small price to pay in order to head off the next terror attack.

I speak from experience. More than once I have been held and questioned at airports because of my work. Once I was working on this website on my laptop, someone saw "jihad" on my screen, and presently I was surrounded by police and large dogs, and hauled off for questioning.

Another time I was in an airport, having hurried from a venue where I had just given a talk. I don't ever speak from a written text, but I sometimes do carry notes -- a page or two of quotations from various Muslim Brotherhood operatives, etc., including jihadist and Islamic supremacist statements by some putative American moderate Muslims, as well as quotations from the Qur'an and Hadith, etc. I had this material in my suit pocket, and it dropped out without my noticing when I took off my suit jacket to go through security. So a few minutes later I was again in the friendly presence of police and TSA personnel. One gentleman was holding up my notes and asking me why I had this material. I started laughing, because I realized that there was absolutely nothing in the notes to show that I actually opposed what was written there -- and realized that it might take awhile to straighten the whole thing out.

And it did. But I didn't mind. Because I knew what they were doing. I knew they weren't holding the bearded, swarthy fellow with notes full of jihad hate because they were racists and bigots, and didn't like people of Middle Eastern descent, or hated Muslims, or what have you. They were doing their job, which was to protect the American people. Irum Abbasi and Hamas-linked CAIR should realize that, and I think they do. They should also realize that we are on to them.

"Muslim woman removed from Southwest flight sues," from AP, October 7 (thanks to all who sent this in):

SAN DIEGO (AP) – A Muslim-American woman who was removed from a plane in San Diego last spring sued Southwest Airlines on Thursday, alleging she was discriminated against because she was wearing an Islamic head covering.

Irum Abbasi, a psychology graduate student at San Jose State University who is a U.S. citizen, filed the lawsuit in federal court in San Diego.

"Suspicions were aroused because of her religion," Abbasi's attorney, James McElroy, said at a news conference. "She would not have been removed from the plane if she had been a blond-haired, blue-eyed woman."

Abbasi, a mother of three, was taken off the San Jose-bound flight in March as it was about to depart after a flight attendant thought she heard her say "it's a go" on her mobile phone.

Abbasi "was horrified, embarrassed, humiliated and confused," the lawsuit stated.

In fact, Abbasi had said "I have to go" because the plane was about to depart, according to the lawsuit, which seeks unspecified damages.

Abbasi was searched and given clearance to reboard the flight within three minutes, but the pilot claimed the crew was uncomfortable flying with her and refused to allow her aboard.

She was given an apology, a voucher and a boarding pass for the next San Jose flight. As a result, she missed a critical research experiment that she needed to be able to complete for her graduate studies, the lawsuit said.

Chris Mainz, spokesman for Dallas-based Southwest Airlines Co., said the airline apologized to Abbasi for her inconvenience and her concerns were addressed "in good faith."

"In this case, our employees raised a safety concern based on the customer's behavior, and we had a duty to thoroughly address those concerns before clearing the customer to travel," Mainz said in an emailed statement....

Under pressure from Hamas-linked CAIR and other Islamic supremacists, the FBI retreats further into a dhimmi fantasy-based analysis of Islam that leaves us all more threatened. "Islam content spurs FBI review of anti-terror training," by Shaun Waterman for The Washington Times, October 6:

FBI Director Robert S. Mueller III told a congressional hearing on Thursday that the bureau is conducting a review of training programs after disclosure of materials that equated devout Muslims with a greater propensity for violent extremism.

Mr. Mueller said that one part of the training program disclosed in a press account was "inappropriate and offensive," but that the session was a "one-off" and not likely to be repeated.

"We have undertaken a review from top to bottom of our counterterrorism training," Mr. Mueller said. "I think these are isolated incidents, and in the course of that review, we've had outreach to academicians and others to assist us in reviewing the materials and assuring that that offensive content does not appear."

The comments came in response to questions from Rep. Janice D. Schakowsky, Illinois Democrat, during a hearing before the House Permanent Select Committee on Intelligence, about leaked training materials from an FBI training session at its institute in Quantico, Va., in March.

The exchange prompted charges that Mr. Mueller was knuckling under to political correctness aimed at muzzling critics of Islam.

The materials, Mrs. Schakowsky said, stated of Muslims that "the more religious they get, the more violent they are And I understand that there's been training [sessions] where the Prophet Muhammad has actually been called a cult leader and [where] the Islamic practice of giving to charity [has been described as] no more than, quote, 'a funding mechanism for combat.'"

The FBI materials were first reported and posted online by 'Wired' Magazine's Danger Room blog.

"In this particular instance," said Mr. Mueller, "reports of what had been in that training came up from the students, and we took action to assure that that inappropriate, offensive content was not provided to others."

He added that there had been "other instances [of training] that may include what would be perceived as offensive content."

The exchange highlights a long-running dispute, both about the counterterrorism training provided by the FBI and other law enforcement agencies, but more deeply about the nature of the threat posed by the ideology of Islamic terrorism.

Mr. Mueller "is saying that this correlation [between piety and violence] is offensive because Islamic supremacist groups like the Council on American-Islamic Relations (CAIR) tell him that it offends them," said Robert Spencer, a writer on Islam.

Shaun Waterman left out two key parts of what I said to him. What I actually said was this: "Mueller is saying that this correlation is offensive because Islamic supremacist groups like the Hamas-linked Council on American-Islamic Relations tells him that it offends them. But they bring him no evidence that it is false, and cannot, because it is true."

Waterman left out the "Hamas-linked" Homeric epithet for CAIR, and instead repeats CAIR's denial of "any link to terrorism" below, without bothering to tell readers that CAIR was named an unindicted co-conspirator in a Hamas terror funding case, or that several of its officials have convicted of terror-related crimes, etc.

He also left out my assertion that there is a correlation between Islamic piety and involvement in terror. The correlation is not that every devout Muslim will engage in jihad terror, but that all jihad terrorists are devout Muslims who invoke Islamic texts and teachings as their inspiration and justification.

Mr. Spencer is one of those whose training presentations for law enforcement - including for the FBI - have been criticized as anti-Muslim. CAIR describes itself as a civil rights organization and denies any link to terrorism.

"Mueller and the FBI have departed from a pursuit of the truth and are following a politically correct agenda that makes us all less safe," Mr. Spencer told the Times.

John Guandolo, a former FBI agent and another counterterrorism trainer, called it "outrageous" that "almost the only people our leaders in national security and law enforcement are looking to for guidance about Islam" are representatives of groups like CAIR, which he said is linked to the Muslim Brotherhood, a global political network that promotes Islamic law and a political view of Islam as not just a personal faith, but a code for the whole of society.

"The FBI director's job is not to be the politically correct police, but to look at facts and evidence," Mr. Guandolo said. "The fact is, the major threat does not come from terrorist attacks. It comes from the Muslim Brotherhood."...

Exactly.

This just went out in the "American Muslim News Briefs" email from the Hamas-linked Council on American-Islamic Relations (CAIR):

CAIR: Al-Awlaki's Calls to Violence Rejected by U.S. Muslims Civil rights group concerned about constitutional issues raised by assassination of American citizen

(WASHINGTON, D.C., 9/30/11) -- A prominent national Muslim civil rights and advocacy organization today reiterated that the calls to violence made by Anwar al-Awlaki, who has reportedly been killed in a U.S. drone strike in Yemen, have been firmly rejected by American Muslims.

In a statement reacting to al-Awlaki's death, the Washington-based Council on American-Islamic Relations (CAIR) said:

"As we have stated repeatedly in the past, the American Muslim community firmly repudiated Anwar al-Awlaki's incitement to violence, which occurred after he left the United States. While a voice of hate has been eliminated, we urge our nation's leaders to address the constitutional issues raised by the assassination of American citizens without due process of law." [MEDIA NOTE: Because of the sensitivity of the issue, please use the statement in full.]...

You got it, Ibe. But once again Hamas-linked CAIR reveals its true colors. It denounces al-Awlaki as a "voice of hate" (note that that is the same language it uses of anti-jihadists who, unlike al-Awlaki, never conspired with anyone to commit mass murder or approved of any kind of violence), but is "concerned" that "constitutional issues" have been "raised by the assassination of American citizens without due process of law."

Anwar al-Awlaki was an American citizen, yes. He was also a traitor. He was waging war against his native country. He was an enemy combatant. If an American citizen had gone to Germany and joined the Wehrmacht in 1942, and was killed in battle against American forces, would anyone have been raising "constitutional issues" over the killing?

Hamas-linked CAIR: this century's German-American Bund.

UPDATE: Jihad Watch reader Axel points out Hamas-linked CAIR's use of the word "assassination," which implies moral culpability on the part of those who did the killing. Enemy combatants are not "assassinated." Unless, of course, one does not consider them the enemy.
