Kristoff is hardly alone in effusing about the "Egyptian People". Quite a few "conservatives" have been doing that; and even a few in the Counter-Jihad. The temptation -- or, rather, reflexive elbow spasm -- to praise any group of Muslims who happens to be temporarily opposing a bad group of Muslims (Iranian People vs. the Ayatollahs; the Egyptian People vs. Morsi) rather resembles the inability to pat one's head and rub one's stomach at the same time....
