In the immortal words of the late, great Englishman Benny Hill: "He put his finger in his ear and said 'ting-a-ling-a-loo!" Robert fell afoul of the prim, prissy, PeeCee New England political machine working on one of the most image-conscious organizations on the face of the earth. Methinks that the Worcester diocese is still not going to put itself in the crosshairs of its area's mass media if it can help it....

With almost 2300 signatures now, I think it is an impressive response; but, one that will be of very little moment with the diocese. There was a good article from the Worcester Gazette. Perhaps they might find it interesting to do a followup, and publish a current number of names, along with some selected comments in the paper? Even this would have a minimal effect, but at least it would have more than an internet petition they can ignore. Perhaps, I'll give them a shout....

Excellent observation, nv. And, to think Georgetown and Holy Cross are Jesuit institutions makes your obversation all the more interesting. Once referred to as the "Popes Commandoes", I guess we might now consider them the "Imams' Janissaries". They've been at the vanguard of most eroding of traditional values. One of their Boston parishes, witnessed a nun (?) with one of those 'special ministeries' invoking a blessing on a gay union. (Now, I'm gay, but that's a bit much.) But, then again, I parallel Islamic influence today with the Comintern of the 20's, 30's and 40's that perniciously pursued the neutralization...
