This dhimmi's sign reads: "Could this photo have cost us 200 lives?" (thanks to LGF)
Says AP:
Voters punished Spain's ruling party in elections Sunday, with many saying they were shaken by bombings in Madrid and furious with the government for backing the Iraq war and making their country a target for al-Qaida. . . .Some voters were angry at outgoing Prime Minister Jose Maria Aznar, accusing him of making Spain a target for Islamic extremists because of his support for the Iraq war, despite the opposition of most Spaniards. Aznar sent 1,300 Spanish troops to Iraq after the conflict and 11 have died.
"I wasn't planning to vote, but I am here today because the Popular Party is responsible for murders here and in Iraq," said Ernesto Sanchez-Gey, 48, who voted in Barcelona.
I got news for you, Mr. Sanchez-Gey: Spain was already a target of Al-Qaeda. From the Telegraph, with thanks to Jeffrey Imm:
New forensic evidence on the bombings has raised an uncomfortable question for Spaniards. Is Osama bin Laden dreaming of exacting revenge for the loss of Al-Andalus, the ancient Moorish kingdom in Iberia?A group close to bin Laden's al-Qa'eda network, the Brigade of Abu Hafs al-Masri, sent a message to a London-based Arabic newspaper explaining the reasons for attacking Spain.
"This is part of settling old accounts with Spain, the crusader and America's ally in its war against Islam," the statement said.
While the authenticity of the message is open to doubt, there is no question that it reflects the thinking of Islamists, who hold that any land which has once been part of the Muslim community should forever remain under Muslim rule.

This is truly a Neville Chamberlain moment..............discussting
Posted by: Dominic at March 14, 2004 7:52 PMLet's keep in mind the good news (I know, it's hard). The fact is, the conservatives in Spain will be very angered by the dhimmi-like reaction of their compatriots. Furthermore, lets see what Spaniards say after the caught suspects confess as to their motives. Don't underestimate the Shame Factor when they say "See, we tried to influence your election and we succeeded!"
I hope this fetching young lady knows where to get her burqa sewn for her.
Posted by: Susan at March 14, 2004 8:43 PMNo, but inceassing raising it in the air may have cost 200 lives...
Posted by: Joe at March 15, 2004 8:32 AMAmerica's 9-11 generated resolve to punish and destroy terrorism. Spain's massacre prompted them to reward terrorism.
Posted by: Patrick at March 15, 2004 8:59 AMNow that the cowardly Spanish Left has decided that they'd rather switch lnand become appeasers than fight terrorism and evil, there is only one name we can give to this "new nation":
Vichy Espaņa.
Posted by: columbia at March 15, 2004 11:54 AMStupid, stupid dhimmi appeasers! Of course, they are accustomed to facism, but this time they will be under them. I'm sorry. They made the wrong choice. They desrve what they get. Stupid people. (I'm not articulate today, sorry.)
Posted by: epg at March 15, 2004 11:57 AMThis is the beginning of the end for Spain and the rest of Europe if they follow suit!
Posted by: Susan at March 15, 2004 12:16 PMThe Spanish voters disgraced themselves, and encouraged Islamofascists to attack MORE Western cities. Genius!
Even my anti-Bush friends are outraged by such pussiness of these impotent Spaniards, who are incapable of learning from history as recent as WWII. What a bunch of baby lemmings. What a shame.
