Wouldn't it be refreshing if German Muslims, faced with abundant evidence of radical Muslim activity in Germany, declared that they were ready to cooperate with anti-terror efforts, and even to help create this database? Instead, again we see a Muslim community showing no hint of responsibility or cooperation, and concerned only that innocent people will be targeted.
Well, that would be a bad thing. But the Muslim community itself could make it a lot less likely to happen by being open and cooperative -- and by drawing a clearer distinction themselves between "Islamists" and ordinary Muslims. I have often pointed out that this is an artificial distinction, but I've never before seen it used by a Muslim to try to obstruct anti-terror efforts.
BERLIN (Reuters) - Germany said Thursday it would create a central database on suspected radical Islamists, provoking concern from the country's large Muslim community....But a Muslim leader, reacting to news of the database, said innocent Muslims risked falling under suspicion unless the term 'Islamist' was properly defined.
"When you speak about Islamism, you have to clarify what you mean by it. We are concerned that every Muslim could fall under this catch-all term, which is unacceptable," said Nadeem Elyas, chairman of the Central Council of Muslims in Germany.
"We're worried that people may be caught up arbitrarily who have nothing to do with terrorism. By arbitrarily, I mean at the discretion of officials or authorities, which would be a violation of data protection rules."

Don't mind them, Bunch of hypocrates! That's what they'll say.... We are not terrorist!... We are not this.. . we are not that... etc.. etc...
But if you move closer to them, you'll find that they are "internally" happy that terrorism is being carried out.
Well done Germany, get all their data base, then it will be easier to catch the extremists! this will also help to even monitor their allerged claims as being the fastest growing cult in the world!
Even in my country Nigeria, when we spoke about having national ID cards, it is this same muslims that said they are being marginalised.
I wonder what sort of development they will support?

Dase, I didn't know you were Nigerian.I have a close friend from there. His first name is Akinlolu. He was a Teacher there. What a mess the Muslims are making of that poor nation. I feel bad for the good people of that country.

Typical bleating of "victimization" by Muslims. They take no responsibility for their belief system being the impetus and cause for the terrorism. They do nothing to weed out and expose these so-called "radicals" and "extremists", the ones who are supposedly hijacking & defaming their precious religion. Instead they close ranks & throw up roadblocks with cries of "racism!" or "villification!" or some other excuse, even lying to our faces. They are a closed society, with extremely different customs, beliefs, ideals, values, language. How can we weed out these so-called "radicals" without their help? By not helping, they are just as guilty. We call this "aiding and abetting" - a crime. We don't trust you, Muslims. You must earn trust, not demand it.

There are no 'innocent' Muslims. They believe in Islam, down to their very cells. Islam's core teachings are death or dhimmitude for the Infidel, hence a Muslim, ANY Muslim is a danger to you and me.
Their very presence in the 'dar al Harb' is a cancer, a parasitic infection that will suck us dry if we let it.

Ethelred - thanx for saying there are 'no innocent muslims.
I am in favor of killing them all and let God sort them out.
I'm new at this (?) becoming informed about Islam, so let me ask - what does 'dar al Harb' (from your post) mean?
I also asked on another post what the (swt) stands for - I see it is included when some Arab speaks of Allah - he always put (swt) after the name - What does that mean?
thanx, kleo2x

I am not sure I would want the Germans keeping a database on my people or me….. They tend to be a very thorough group when it comes to record keeping. I still find it odd that my European friends all seem to carry national ID cards. Every time the Federal Liberal party of Canada brings up the subject they are all called Nazis, something the Liberal party in Ottawa hates.

The Germans will most probably not abuse the proposed database. They have learned well from their history in the last century about the abuse of power.
I think collection of intelligence is among the most sensible measures you can take. It means you can sort out the people which are causing problems and leave the rest be.
"But a Muslim leader, reacting to news of the database, said innocent Muslims risked falling under suspicion".
Thats what he said.
What he really fears is that damningly guilty muslims will be caught by information made available to law enforcement personel through the proposed database. This will of course make Germans wonder why the islamists should be in Germany when they hate it so much.
