Doug Harper points out that the dhimmi Spanish government, true to the dhimmi principles that it rode to power after the 3/11 bombings, is going to start paying money to mosques. The stated purpose is to make them less dependent upon foreign money, i.e., terror financing from the Saudis or Osama or whomever.
This is the sort of harebrained scheme that only true sons of Aethelred the Unready could dream up, or perhaps more precisely true sons of Marx and Engels, so besotted with socialism and materialism that they can't fathom the possibility that anyone could be motivated by anything other than the desire for material gain. The jihad? Pah. They just want money. Let's give them some and they'll quiet down.
Pull up a chair and watch, folks. Al-Andalus is advancing with amazing rapidity. I await news of the reinauguration of the mosque of Córdoba.

MADRID, Aug. 2 - The Spanish government has begun formal discussions on a proposal to expand financing to religious institutions, and security officials say that one intention is to subsidize mosques to make them less dependent on money from militant groups abroad.The Justice Ministry proposal, which legal scholars say is likely to test the limits of Spain's separation of church and state, reflects a widespread belief among counterterrorism officials here that Spanish mosques are vulnerable to the influences of militant groups because they feel the need to turn to the militants for money....
"It's about keeping them from having to look outside for financing because the state does not, in a way, support their activities," Antonio Camacho, the secretary of state security at the Interior Ministry, said in an interview.
Spanish investigators said the terrorists who blew up four trains in Madrid on March 11, killing 191 people, attended mosques here that had ties to Wahhabism, a militant form of Islam that is the predominant doctrine in Saudi Arabia.
Spain has six formally established mosques and 220 to 230 small, informal ones, according to the Islamic Commission of Spain, which is recognized by the government as the official voice of Spain's Muslims.
The proposal to finance mosques has stoked opposition from conservatives. An editorial in the center-right newspaper El Mundo said it was a mistake because Islam "does not defend tolerance."
Counterterrorism specialists, however, have backed the idea. Jesús Núñez Villaverde, director of the Institute for the Study of Conflicts and Humanitarian Action, a research organization, told Parliament recently that Spain must find a way to dilute the presence of "fundamentalist religious expression that is financed through its own channels, and for which we have not one single instrument of influence, contact or association."
And he thinks that if they get money from the Spanish government, they'll be susceptible to its influence? Sure. Just like the Danes were influenced by Aethelred's gold to go easy on England.

This is bizarre proposal as I see nothing here that would require that Muslims not take money from terrorists in exchange for government funds.Muslims also have a long history of biting the infidel hand that feeds them, so why in the world would the Spanish government think Muslims would behave any differently now?Here's a thought, how about deporting Muslim troublemakers and closing down radical Mosques. I'm beginning to think the Spanish deserve whatever they get.When Muslims ruin Spain the Spanish need not try to immigrate to the US or come crying to the US military for help.

There is one good thing about socialism. It always fails. Europe for some reason, can never learn this lesson.
Now add dhimmitude to Islam, which sucks every last dollar from socialist programs, and it accelerates it's failure.
Spain will fall faster than France under the ridiculous government they elected.
Time will tell I guess, lets see just how far they fall and how much freedom Spaniards will give up before they realize they are under siege.

This is definatly a liberal persons idea. "money is the cure for all".
Can we not admit that there are bad people out there? Individually or as a group?
Does Spain forget that the terrorist that carried out 9/11 were not poor?
Why don't these countries, including our own, start putting money into Christian churches, schools and missionaries?
It would improve our societies, drop STD's, teen pregnacy, empty the jails, reduce welfare, and cause liberals to be out of a job.
Because really, who are we fooling, 20 years from now we are still going to be fighting Islam, unless we have already gone to world war.

I have no boubt that here in Canada our spineless Liberals will start funding Wahabbism
in Mosques. This same Government set up a tatoo
parlour in Prisons to make it safer for those that would get one anyway,also condoms are handed out to prevent aids from speading further,porno video's are allowed to sexual offenders to ease their aggression,needles are free for safe injection of drugs(the ones that got them in jail in the first place)with high infection rates,and many other freebe's to placate the criminals and show the victims the Government is compassionate
and sensitive to needs of the less fortunate.

I say, bleed the Spanish government dry! The Scientologists, Hindus, Sikhs, Buddhists, Methodists, Raelians, and any and all religions should all line up for their handout!
You never know if the next oppressed individual with grievances will take Ron L. Hubbard's (Scientology) teachings "out of context" and want to blow something up! Wouldn't want to be called "racist" and thinking that only muslims are terrorists.

One of the most sobering pieces of information to come out of the investigation of the March 11th bombings is that the planning for the attacks may have begun nearly a year before 9/11. In October, 2000, several of the suspects met in Istanbul with Amer Azizi. Azizi later gave the conspirators permission to act in the name of Al Qaeda. In June, Italian police released a surveillance tape of one of the alleged planners, who said that the operation "took me two and a half years." Ahmed had served as an explosives expert in the Egyptian Army. It appears that some kind of attack would have happened even if Spain had not joined the Coalition-or if the invasion of Iraq had never occurred.

You'd think after the 3/11 bombings the spanish would be demolishing mosques not giving them money.Where is the sense in this?
What ,exactly, do they think it's going to acheive? The money the leeching imams don't use will only go to fund terror groups anyway, and it's hardly going to make them suddenly drop their ties with the middle east and start declaring Allahs love for Spain.And besides if the mosks owners(deliberate mis-spelling as a sign of total disrespect) have some kind of link to terror groups shouldn't they be arrested,or investigated.I thought the spanisah would have learnt from centuries ago, i.e-the last time muslims conquered their country. Send 'em packing again!!!

I can say only that Zapatero is a very idiot person, he thinks that only with laughing the problems is solutioning, He doesn´t know english and he thinks like many idiot socialists in my country that the islam is like a pet, and this is false, but well when my country would be like Lebanon, it would come cries, and seeing the posibilities of kerry and his discurses of " we have to be near to muslim and arabic countries" America can lose in these tactics, God doesn´t want, greetings
