Hamas: Left Gave Us Confidence to Continue Suicide-Bombings

I've said it again and again: the anti-jihad is not a conservative struggle, it is a human rights struggle. But few on the Left are listening, and many are actively aiding the opposition. Witness this astounding admission by Hamas, which concerns the Israeli Left but should be read as a wake-up call for the American Left, which operates according to the same principles. From Israel National News, with thanks to Ali Dashti:

Yissocharov told Channel 1’s ‘New Evening’ program this afternoon that Hamas leaders told him over and over again that it was the Israeli left-wing that encouraged them to continue to carry out terror attacks.

Yissocharov outlined the general consensus among Hamas leadership he had interviewed for the book: “The Israeli left-wing and your ‘peace-camp’ are what ultimately encouraged us to continue to carry out suicide bombings. We tried, through our attacks, to create fragmentation and dissention within Israeli society, and the left-wing encouraged us in that regard. When we heard about the ‘Pilot’s Letter,’ the refuse-niks and the elite soldiers refusing to serve [in Judea, Samaria and Gaza –ed.] it strengthened our confidence in the effectiveness of the suicide bomber. The disengagement from Gaza is proof of our victory. The fact that Sharon is willing to withdraw unconditionally is basically equivalent to raising a white flag and retreating. Only by force are we able to teach the other side what to do.”

I say this once again:

How is it that despite decades of existential and core-survival crises, repeated suicide attacks on civilians of all ages, unencumbered and unambiguous hostility from arabs (who outnumber jews 40-to-1 in the ME) etc etc... does the leftist virus continue to survive and indeed, breed in the Israeli population? Should it not have been bred out of the gene pool (or is it the meme pool?) long ago?

I believe in evolution and am a Darwinist and am shocked to see a contradiction to his masterly thesis.

Pretty soon the stench of jihad will become so overpowering, not even the looniest of leftists will be able to pretend it is the sweetest perfume.

God bless the free world.

KeithJoy, take note: The Media and the politicians YOU support, are abetting these terrorists by refusing to recognize we are at war. I'd say unwittingly, but there have to be Wits involved to begin with.

4 more years! And 4 more after that!

Kerry did state that the terror threat was exaggerated...of course he wants to negociate, start a dialouge, perhaps have them over for tea...who knows...but I am sure the terrorists are quite scared of Kerrys "kinder gentler" stance on terror...Bush may not be an eloquent speaker, but at least he has some emotion behind his speach....Kerry is like a wooden dummy, his face barely moves, like his words have been programed...maybe its the toxins and sheep urine floating around in his face...he just comes off as someone that doesnt care....and I really enjoy his stance on giving suicide bombers the death penalty...that'll show em.

The problem here is one of perception and history. First of all, most leftists, including those in the human rights community, have bought into the notion that the Palestinian Arabs are "victims of Zionist aggression". Second, the left is generally ignorant of the centuries of massacres, enslavement and humiliations that the Jews suffered as dhimmis and their brave and noble struggle to break the bonds of dhimmitude and carve a safe haven into the lands of their ancestors. For most leftists, their knowledge of the Arab-Israeli wars begins in 1967, not in 1948 or the 7th Century. This ahistorical view completely distorts the nature of this conflict and the image of the Jews and Arabs. Hamas, the PLO and Hezbollah have played the left like a Stradivarius, and they've done a great job of exploiting the American left's hatred of George Bush to blunt his initiatives in the War on Terror.

Most Leftists now believe that poverty is the cause of Islamic terrorism. We know that is not the truth. The Left will never be convinced that they are wrong about anything, not even with proof!!!!

epg - That's because they're egalitarian Marxists. If there's a problem, it must be capitalism's fault.

And sadly, some of the most ignorant (or perhaps personality disordered) of the Left who are anti-Israel/anti-Zionist, are my fellow Jews, religious or secular, but almost invariably Ashkenazim, who know little or nothing about the history and demography of our Sephardic and Yemenite bretheren.

I'm not sure who the worst of the worst of them is -- Chomsky or Finklestein, but I would surely love someone to force them to respond to their common slander about what Finklestein labeled the Halocaust Industry. If any group has made a lot of money out of crying victim, with little justification, it's the various benefiaries of the Palestinian "Nakba" Industry. As Alan Dershowitz, among others, points out in his "Case for Israel", there are no other displaced persons in the world who have been accorded refugee status if they have lived as few as two years in the locality from which they fled, and even if their flight simply took them back to from whence they came!

Volleti

Darwin's theory of evolution is probably applicable to genetic evolution and not to cultural evolution.

The Left, like the Islamists have a governing ideology that explains all. Everything in the Universe is in the context of that dogma. Dogma puts a break on cultural evolution. Whether it is Islam or Marxism, dogma brings cultural evolution to a stop. With no exception, all Islamic and Communist nations, were and are, economic and social disasters.

What is astounding is that Jews/Israelis, for so long the target of hatred of their neighbours, still do not understand the nature of their enemy. What will it take? For decades, Arab terrorists have targetted them, have deliberaterly killed their children. Beslan is a regular in Israel. And yet Isrealis do not get it. Am I missing something here? Have the Israelis become so civilised that they have lost the will to live. If a nation cannot rise up in wrath at the deliberate and regular murder of its children, then it has lost all respect for itself. Witness the slapping down that Putin gave to the EU foreign minister when he uttered an inanity. Has Israel ever shown righteous anger at the continuous harangue from the EU, after each atrocity by the Arabs?

The Left will never learn and neither will the Islamists but there is no excuse for so many Israelis who think that peace is possible with the Arabs and continue being moderate, in the hope that Islamists will reciprocate. If Isreal wishes to have moderate Arabs, the best way is for it to become extremist.

When you observe what people in the loony left say and do you can observe a complete breakdown of logical and rational thinking sacrificed to a unacheivable utopian ideology/belief system...as is the case with Islamists. People on the left have traditionally dreamed of (through radical change) perfecting society whereas people on the right tend to just accept that society will never realistically be perfect and that we should just do what we can within the system to make society one worth living in. George Orwell was a social democrat...however he realised the danger the left constantly faced...that of literaly loosing touch with reality in a rush towards unacheivable utopian goals through a dangerously flawed ideology. Many on the left think waging war against another person's ideology/beleif system is a ideological failure...of a world that should be perfect and war free...and so they don't want to fight that war on many levels....whether it is correctly naming the enemy or fighting them with guns. They would rather symapthise with the enemy rather than fight it...they consider that a success...which is madness.
