Denmark: Conservative Party spokesman says former Guantanamo prisoner should be jailed after pledging to join jihadists in Chechnya

Let's see. The man wants to go join the perpetrators of the Beslan atrocities. Slimane Hadj Abderrahmane also said that the Danish PM and foreign minister were "legitimate Muslim targets." I'd say it's a good thing that he thinks there is "no room" for him in Denmark. From the Copenhagen Post, with thanks to Ali Dashti:

Former Guantanamo prisoner Slimane Hadj Abderrahmane announced yesterday that he has dropped plans to sue the US government and will quit Denmark for Chechnya to aid Muslim insurgents in the country.

In response, Conservative Party justice spokesman Helge Adam Møller has urged authorities to jail Abderrahmane.

"He's a terrorist," Helge Adam Møller told TV2 news. "He wants to go someplace where he can kill women and children."

Slimane Hadj Abderrahmane told DR News Magazine on Wednesday evening that he had decided against suing the US government for his two-year detainment at Guantanamo Bay, Cuba.

Sounds like a good decision, given his other statements.

Although Abderrahmane signed an agreement with the US barring him from engaging in jihad ever again, the Danish-Algerian citizen is prepared to leave Denmark in favour of Chechnya.

An agreement with the US barring him from engaging in jihad! What a great idea! Let's make them all sign such forms. Men who glory in the deaths of little children will certainly honor a signed agreement!

"Lots of Danes are ready to hang me - a million and a half want me jailed for life, and the rest want me deported," said Abderrahmane, who told DR that he was abandoning his lawsuit against the US government because he had no chance of winning.

"Western democracy has no room for people who think differently. There's no room for me here in Denmark, so I'm going to war in Chechnya, where I can support Muslims and be of some use, " said Abderrahmane.

The Security Intelligence Service (PET) is considering further action following Abderrahmane's threat to move to Chechnya.

He needs to be allowed to go to Chechnya where Spetsnaz has arranged a warm welcome celebration.

What a twisted freak. And he's also pathetic to believe in what he does.

That's right, Western society has no rooms for him and his ilk that make up the Palestinian Jihad, Jema'ah Islamiyah and other Islamic terror groups.

But then what, will the authorities let him go to wherever he wishes?

"Western democracy has no room for people who think differently. There's no room for me here in Denmark, so I'm going to war in Chechnya, where I can support Muslims and be of some use, " said Abderrahmane.

What Western democracy has no room for is people who incite violence against their fellow citizens and representatives in government. Obviously Abderrahmane confuses free speech with hate speech, which I sincerely doubt is protected under Danish law. Furthermore, Abderrahmane's statements are a violation of the human rights of the Danish ministers and the people of Russia under the UNDHR and the ICCPR. If Denmark doesn't charge him for his crime, he should be extradited to a country that will press charges, possibly the United States. He belongs in a Danish jail or a tent in Camp Delta, not free in Chechnya to murder Russian children.

Abderrahmane and think what he likes as we all can, and say things that don't disturb public order and hurt others. BUT, he's the qualifier, we are free to act as we like. The actions he proposes do violate the principles of the West and are called hate and to foment violence against a government is called sedition.

Freedom doesn't mean we can say and act as we please. What we do and say must be tempered with responsible behavior no matter where you are.

Consider that responsible behavior in Saudi Arabia is much less free than that which is accepted as responsible behavior than that of, say, the United States. However, that which many Muslims consider to be "freedom" is actually anarchy, a state of behavior that is unacceptable in Western countries. Regrettably we saw suddenly freed Iraqis resort to a state of anarchy after the fall of Saddam. Abderrahmane confuses anarchy and hate speech with freedom tempered with responsibility and tempered free speech.

Abderrahmane speaks with bravado as he is confident that Denamrk will not put him on a plane for Chechnya.

These are the words of a wesel. A weasel is what he is, in word and deed. If he had been a true Jihadi, he would not have been languishing in Gitmo but would have sacrificed himself in Afghanistan rather then surrender to Infidels.

Send him shackled and under guard to Russia with his statement that he wants to join Chechen Islamic Terrorists to kill Russians.

Are US authorities really so stupid that they believe signing a renouncement of jihad is binding on a jihadist? Isn't any non-Moslem there familiar enough with the Koran? Appears that they let the Islamic chaplains (like Yee) decide the proper procedure to deal with jihadists about to be turned loose on the Western world once more.
