Islamic law forbids dhimmis to "display openly" wine or pork. Evidently these pigs were a bit too openly displayed for the local Muslims -- and of course local authorities do nothing. Note also that the dhimmis at AP put the blame for tensions between Christians and Muslims there entirely upon the Christians -- in part for the crime of building new churches, which is another violation of the laws of dhimmitude. From AP, with thanks to Susan:
JAKARTA, Indonesia - Muslims armed with machetes attacked several pig farms in Indonesia, slaughtering around 20 swine they claimed were giving of "offensive" odors, The Jakarta Post reported Thursday.Police did nothing to stop the attack Wednesday in South Tatura, central Sulawesi province, the paper reported. The farms belonged to local Christians.
"The farms give out a bad odor and this is offensive, especially during Ramadan," said local Muslim leader Abdul Haris, referring to the Islamic fasting month where religious feelings often run high.
He said the farms were also polluting a local river, presumably with dung from the animals....
The Muslims were armed with machetes and sticks, the Post reported. Losses from the attacks were estimated at around $8,000, the paper quoted a pig farmer as saying....
The two faiths generally live in harmony, but disputes are sometimes triggered over the building of new churches and accusations that Christians are aggressively trying to convert Muslims.

Yea, those bothersome Christians keep running into the Muslim's machetes and getting them all bloody. The media just don't get it.

"The two faiths generally live in harmony ... "
I wonder what drugs this person is taking. It seems every other week a church is firebombed in Indonesia.

Our media are the "fifth column" in this war. When are they going to have the guts to tell our populations what is really happening in the muslim world ? How much Saudi money is invested in our media, in the AP and Reuters especially. Thank God for the internet
and jihadwatch, dhimmiwatch, nojihad, faithfreedom and internet haganah.

Our quisling media cannot bring themselves to make a moral judgment against anyone, especially if they are brown skinned. Their 'moral relativist' argument is, " I try to ask myself if 'I' were in 'their' position and 'I' were a pious Muslim and pork was forbidden and unclean and it's the holy month of Ramadan, how would 'I' feel?"
This argument and philosophy work in many areas for our leftist media -- poor Vs rich, black Vs white, Muslim Vs Jew and anyone against the biggest evil oppressor, the United States of America.

It could be they attacked the pigs because they were jealous of their intellect. Pigs are quite smart you know.
"Oink Oink" makes more sense to me than most islamist morals and theology.

I grew up on a farm which raised pigs, chickens and turkeys.
What I noticed as a child is while a pig may wallow in sh*t, it is the chicken and turkey who actually eat it.
The last I heard, chickens are Halal, right?

Demand, demand, demand. This is becoming tiresome. In countries with a Muslim majority this is understandable, but in the West, it is incomprehensible that Muslim demands are being met. Indonesian Christian lose their pig farms and American and British Christians lose their pig products in stores.
Here in the West, especially in America, you only have yourself to blame if you put up with this situation.

Right around the corner from the main street of America's largest Somali neighborhood is the old Viking Bar. Friday nights, even in Ramadan, they feature a band called the Front Porch Swingin' Liquor Pigs.
Liquor. Pigs. Friday. Ramadan. There's just something wonderful about that.
The Somalis don't seem to care, or even notice, but they did rise up when an Andean immigrant with a checkered past attempted to open a strip club in the shadow of their high-rise. They had allies in that fight.

Yeah, another Muslim ,secular democracy,eh! A doctor Farrish Noor was gushing on BBC about how different faiths and races live PEACEFULLY IN INDONESIA!!Found out later he was living in the West...These lies should be CHALLENGED and exposed for what they are -deliberate attempts by Muslims to hoodwink the West. As for Journalists who write this lying Shit, they should lose their comfortable jobs, also reckon they should be investigated - stinks of bribery & corruption that has nothing to do with honest Pig Shit. Dogs and pigs are very intelligent creatures which is more than you can say for our loony, moony media.
And for stupid rabid Muslims...

"The two faiths generally live in harmony ... ", really?
I don't know how anybody could claim this since having lived in southeast asian countries, I know that in indonesia there is a regularity of crazed mobs being violent and attacking perceived offenders, for perceived or rumored transgression.
Sadly "offenders" are not limited to pigs or animals. Christians and Chinese groups have been favorites and repeatedly attacked before.

In fact, while many Indonesian Christians are former tribal animists or of Chinese descent, a very large proportion of them descend from Muslims. The Bible was translated into Malay as early as the late 17th century under Dutch Reformed auspices; and there has been a flow of people from Islam into the Indonesian Christian churches ever since. While it is true that many of these were in fact from the syncretic Muslim-Hindu mix common over much of Java prior to improved communications between the East Indies and Middle East that came with the 20th century, Indonesian Muslims know that Christian proselytism can, when given a chance, work against them.

"Police did nothing to stop the attack Wednesday in South Tatura, central Sulawesi province, the paper reported."
This happens ALL the time!!!!!!!!
Who is this blasted journalist to say that:
"The two faiths generally live in harmony, but disputes are sometimes triggered over the building of new churches and accusations that Christians are aggressively trying to convert Muslims."
The christians live in "HARMONY" despite the burning of their churches by those muslim thugs. They have had to endure attacks to their churches, closings, attacks during sunday service where people have been killed, forced conversion.
The western media has been so 'pc', and in articles like this has to say mention about that living in harmony.
Maybe what's happening is not that bad as compared to what is going on in Sudan. But I'm afraid the repression is going to get worse, since the government is slowly but surely implementing koranic laws, which is supposedly only for the muslims.
If you believe that, I have a bridge to sell.

"Islamic law forbids dhimmis to "display openly" wine or pork."
So of course that gives them the right to kill a bunch of animals. Don't complain and request that the farmer do something about the problem. No, kill. That's the Islamic way of dealing with things you don't like. Kill. Immature, psychotic, amoral, conscienceless. Kill, kill, kill. Animals, humans, doesn't matter, just kill them if they bother you. I guess Indonesia wouldn't have too many vineyards and wineries either. That to me is the height of barbarity - no wine.
"referring to the Islamic fasting month where religious feelings often run high."
No, I don't think it's "religious feelings". I think they're just suffering from some sort of blood sugar disorder due to lack of food and water. When I don't eat regularly I get a headache and very irritable. I haven't got to the point where I feel the urge to slaughter pigs or anything else, but I'm not the happiest person until I eat. Muslims are hot-headed and quick to act feral anyway. This Ramadam is like putting a lit match to a firecracker. That's all we need in this world. Hungry, feral Muslims who just need to eat regularly but due to some silly ancient custom deliberately starve themselves and turn even more feral.

I'm going to dump a trailor load of pig-shit in the doorway of the nearest mosque, another another load in the street of the nearest muslim area of my town.

Plgs in many cases are locked up in small compounds,so they do not have much choice as to where they shit and where they lay down,where-as it is a common site in Indonesia to see some-body squatting in a stream or river and 10 meters down stream somebody doing their laundry,or washing them-selves.
Go into any public toilet just before prayer time you will see the muslims washing their feet in the urinals
