At last, a politician with the courage to speak the truth openly. And for it, he may be killed. From UPI, with thanks to Ali Dashti:
The Hague, Netherlands, Dec. 1 (UPI) -- Geert Wilders is a marked man. Ever since the slaying of Dutch filmmaker Theo Van Gogh on Nov. 2, the controversial anti-Islam politician has been living in fear for his life. He has had 20 to 30 death threats -- including one offering 72 virgins in paradise to any Muslim who beheads him -- and after the brutal murder of Van Gogh, Dutch police are taking no chances. Wilders is driven to a different safe house every night in an armored car, is permanently protected by a posse of bodyguards and only sees his wife two or three times a week. "Politically it's quite an interesting time, but personally it's terrible," he tells United Press International in a rare interview in the Dutch House of Representatives in The Hague. "Every morning I wake up, wonder where I am and what's going to happen to me. It's like the worst B-movie ever."Wilders, a 41-year-old former speechwriter with a boyish face and a shock of peroxide-bleached hair, says he is afraid for himself and his family, but refuses to be intimidated by the mountain of death threats. "I will never make any restraints on my freedom of speech. On the contrary, I will be even stronger and tougher saying the things I have to say because if we choose to moderate our voice or stop talking about these subjects, the people who use violence, bullets and knives to get their way will win."
When it comes to Islam and how to deal with the Netherlands' one million Muslims - more than 5 percent of the population -- Wilders certainly pulls no punches. "I have a big problem with Islam but not with Muslims," says the populist politician, who has worked and traveled widely in the Middle East. "I believe that democracy and Islam are totally incompatible and will always be incompatible. There is not one country in the Middle East which is a democracy or is governed by the rule of law."
Like Pim Fortuyn, the openly gay former columnist who rocked Holland's cozy political establishment with his anti-immigration rhetoric before he was gunned down in May 2002, Wilders believes Islam is a "backward religion" that has not gone through the same reformation as Christianity or Judaism and makes no separation between divine and earthly powers. "The political culture of Islam is retarded, and we should keep it as far away from us as possible. It is not our culture and religion, so it should not become dominant in the Netherlands or Europe."
With studies predicting that if present trends continue Muslims will become the majority in the Netherlands' four largest cities by 2020, Wilders says the only way to prevent the native Dutch from becoming a minority in their own land is to halt all immigration from non-Western countries for five years. "The day there are more Muslims than Christians in the Netherlands, I will leave this country whether I am a parliamentarian or not," he said. "I wouldn't feel it was my country any more."
Wilders says he has no problem with the majority of Muslims who are "moderate and have nothing to do with terrorism." But he believes the Dutch government should follow the example of Britain, France and Germany and be "as tough as possible with the growing minority of radical Muslims," which he estimates makes up 10 percent of the Muslim population.
Describing radical Islam as "fascistic" for preaching that "all non-believers have to be eliminated," the outspoken politician says: "I am sure we will lose our country -- if we have not lost it already -- if we don't show who's in charge in the Netherlands, what are the boundaries of our law and what happens when people step over the mark."

Jesus! Poor bastard. I didn't know it was this bad for him. 20 to 30 death threats!?!?! And the world is just standing by, watching this, ho hum, not kicking up a fuss, not denouncing this. The bit about the 72 virgins should be a point of ridicule with the press. Why aren't they jumping all over this? Why aren't they saying "Can you believe this sh**!? They actually believe you get 72 virgins in the afterlife for committing murder! Can you believe anyone can be so effing stupid?" But no, the media doesn't say much, doesn't say much at all. Shhhhh! One mustn't offend the ethnics. No, that would be the worst crime in the world. Shhhh!
This is insane. It's like a bizarre nightmare. We're sitting here, this insanity is going on, they're getting away with it and rubbing our noses in it.
God, I loathe Islam more and more each day.

He say: "No virgins here, no virgins, this is hell ! "...
I say: Did u really believe that shit..?"
He say: "Tell my people, tell my people..."
I say: "how 'bout 24 boys?"
he say: "No boys either! Only dead terrorists here..."
I say: "Can I do anything to help?"
He say: "Tell my people, tell my people..."

Thanks, Norwegian kafir, for that link. I'd heard about the taxi driver interview, over the past few days. I just took a look at it. I felt his pain, his frustration, his rage. The first guy that talked, the 'brave' one who wouldn't dare show his putrid face, Mr. "He Deserved It" - typical of that ilk. Arrogant, macho, we're calling the shots, this is the way we do it, so shut up and take it. Loathesome piece of toxic waste. I can imagine there are many of this type of filthy parasite walking around in Holland. Poor Holland. Poor any country. Infested with the worst of humanity. They are no better, no worse than the ones doing the psychotic, murderous acts. They support the killers, encourage them, identify with them, feel empowered by them. I cringe with revulsion at the very thought of them.
The taxi driver was great. He was right on. Send them back to the mountains, with other imbeciles, not with modern society. Exactamundo! That's where they belong - in the middle of some Islamic cesspit, with their goats and camels, and fellow imbeciles. They do not deserve to breathe the same air as us. They are not worthy. They pollute our space. The taxi driver was right. They do anything they like, and Dutch people feel like they're being strangled. All people feel like they're being strangled.
Wake up world!

Wilders gets about 5 death threats a day, every morning he signs a bunch of forms which an assistent fills in when the threats come in and then takes them to the police. Also today a group of muslims went to the court to stop Hirsi Ali from making Submission 2. They want to stop her from 'offending' muslims by criticizing their faith. They actually found a Jewish lawyer to take it to court for them, unbelievable. Maybe now's a good time to press charges against the Quran for inciting hatred.

"I believe that democracy and Islam are totally incompatible and will always be incompatible. There is not one country in the Middle East which is a democracy or is governed by the rule of law."
Geert Wilders' comment should be read, along with a thorough reading of 1) Gertrude Bell's letters from 1920s Baghdad 2) Philip Ireland's 1939 book on Iraq 3) Reza Afshari's book on Islam and Human Rights by all those who prepare those helpful summaries for, inter alia, G. W. Bush, D. Rumsfeld, C. Rice, and so on -- all the way down to the ridiculous (Tom Friedman, the editors of The Washington Post and The New York Times, Chris Mathews, and so on).
Kindly listen to Mr. Wilders, Mr. Afshari, Ibn Warraq and Ali Sina. It is no accident that the only demi-semi-hemi quaver of a democratic state among the Muslim lands is Turkey, and that is only because of Ataturk, and his Kemalist constraints -- not reforms, for such are impossible given that the canonical texts are immutable and whatever Irshad Manji and the Swinging Manjites might fondly wish us to believe (because they just can't break for real freedom, over the North Wall, while the guards aren't looking, as Ibn Warraq and Ali Sina and hundreds of thousands of others, perhaps millions, have silently done), you just can't pry open those Gates of Ijtihad once they swung shut, with a massive thud, a millennium ago.
Elections, fine. Then stop the bloodletting of American troops, stop the flow of American money (isn't $200 billion, and on top of that all those debts that America used up diplomatic capital to achieve for Iraq?). Remember, Iraq is not Ambassador Francke, or Ahmad Chalabi, nor Allawi. They are the most unrepresentative of Iraqis. The real Iraqis those who fire on American soldiers, or who demand more and more money from the hapless Civil Affairs people, passing it out to tribal leaders and to Iraqi contractors for nonexistent or shoddy work, or those who simply wait, in the south, for the Shi'a moment to come.
Fine. Goodbye to them all. If they hold together, okay. And if they don't? And even if Iranian Shi'a join the fray on one side, and Sunnis from Jordan and Saudi Arabia and the U.A.E. and Egypt join in on the other? What'wrong with this picture? As long as they cannot use in situ or export major weaponry to hurt us, exactly nothing is wrong with this picture.

I just cannot get over Wilders haircut.
Oh, well. If he can come up with a decent party who knows, I may vote for him.

While the almost the entire Press of the Western world becomes a new footnote in the 1930's classic "The Treason Of the Intellectuals", a few people above the invertebrate level, like Wilders and his valiant 'apostate' colleague Hirsi Ali, are doing what "The White Rose" did in the depths of the Nazi Era (a brother and sister based anti-fascist student group, hanged by orders from Himmler for spreading pamphlets demanding freedom).
But the Resistence fighters in the Hitlerian period at least had the hope that the Americans, Brits, Aussies, Canadians, Free French (where are they now?), Free Poles and a few others were fighting their way TO Berlin and Rome. Help WAS on the way. Wilders and Hirsi Ali can take no such comfort from their imbecilic fellow Parliamentarians boo-hoo-hooing in socialist self-mortification about "can't everybody just get along?" (with their limp notion of getting all the Dutch to wear orange wristbands to promote 'understanding' and 'tolerance')-or the "Islam is a religion of peace" p.c.-intoxicated crowd in the Bush-Blair alliance.
Who will have to be slaughtered on the steets of or Britain for the 'coalition members' to get their collective head out of their rectal comfort zone and wake the f**k up?!
Keep at them Mr. Wilders! And Ms.Ali!
(Sterkte, Mijnheer Wilders en Mevrouw Ali!)
You have some allies in this fight.

What country will Mr. Wilders go to to escape the Muslim domination?
And when that country succumbs? And the next?
No democracy in the mid-east? Wait for it.
It's the only hope really. When democracies have the ability and desire to police their own extremists, as the Netherlands is now trying to do, only then will it be stopped.
When the people have something else to strive for, self-determination, education, skills, self-esteem, success by whatever personal measure, then they will shun the dead-end way.
You can't talk with them otherwise. Appeasement, welfare, etc. will only encourage them.
