Leaders of Jews and Muslims aim to halt extremism

Where are the Jewish "extremists"? Where are the Jewish groups in Europe doing violence in order to impose Jewish law on the continent? What on earth can these rabbis be thinking? From The Telegraph, with thanks to Anthony:

Imams and rabbis from across the world will gather in Brussels today in an unprecedented effort to quell the rising tensions between Muslims and Jews in Europe. The "imams and rabbis for peace" conference will bring together 150 leaders of the two faiths, allowing them a unique opportunity to meet face-to-face.

It promises to be much more than a mere talking shop. Speaking before tonight's opening ceremony, a British Muslim delegate called for the "naming and shaming" of extremists.

Dr Abduljalil Sajid, a senior figure in the Muslim Council of Britain, said he hoped the conference would demonstrate that "99.9 per cent of Muslims, along with 99.9 per cent of Jews" favoured peaceful co-existence.

The organisers are seeking to "create dialogue and an enduring partnership between Islam and Judaism", promoting personal friendships and joint initiatives.

Alain Michel is the founder and president of the Paris-based peace foundation, Hommes de Parole (Men of Their Word), which is staging the conference.

He said: "A lot of imams and rabbis never get the chance to meet and work with each other, though there are many initiatives between Islam and Christianity, and Judaism and Christianity."

The aim was to provide a unique forum for inter-religious discussion, in which an influential gathering could demonstrate its mutual opposition to violence, Islamophobia and anti-semitism.

The chief rabbis of Austria, Brussels, Bulgaria and Denmark are among Jewish religious leaders taking part, while a strong contingent from Israel includes the chief rabbi of Haifa and prominent members of the High Rabbinical court of Jerusalem.

Rabbi Joseph Sitruk, the chief rabbi of France, said: "The assembly is an important moment because it carries hope and freedom for a disillusioned world."

During the conference, Dr Sajid, who is also the imam of Brighton, will chair a session in which imams and rabbis will study values common to both religions.

He said: "We should stand shoulder to shoulder to name and shame the tiny minority of agitators and extremists within our own communities and stress our respect for the sanctity of life."

Meanwhile, "Jews in Switzerland are reportedly “infuriated” at a passage in the government’s new extremist report that refers to Jewish extremism in the country." (Thanks again to Anthony.)

As I read through the article, I assumed it was a groupf of Conservative and Reform rabbis participating, as (I thought) Orthodox rabbis would not agree to such a meeting. I am having a major WTF moment right now. I would just love to hear about the number of planes used to take down buildings which were flown by Jews. I would like to know all about kidnappings and beheadings which Jews are responsible for. What on earth can this be all about?? The rabbanim are just lending credibility to murderers.

To many Moslems. Israel is a terrorist state and they consider its very existence as an example of of Jewish extremism.

But for the rabbis to go along with this farce and equate Judiasm with Islam by association and the assumption of an equivalence where one does not exist, they are manifesting clear signs of dhimmitude in the hopes of being granted some momentary pause from the Islamic violence that never seems to come.

Lets not only blame the rabbis for this cowardice, the Vatican has lots of explaining to do as one Islamic friendly pope is posibly going to be replaced by another http://www.nypost.com/news/worldnews/37675.htm, thus the runaway train to Islamism goes full throttle to the abyss.

John Kerry's lost relative? The flip-flopping Cardinal Ratzinger:

"The European community can recognize its Christian heritage without offending the Islamic world, Cardinal Joseph Ratzinger."

Yes, I can see Ratzinger, should he be elected Pope, might be continue the Vatican's policy of appeasing the Islamic world which has resulted in the purging of Christianity from the mideast.

Jesus Christ was asked about how to know when the kingdom of God (the end) was at hand. His answer at least gives me comfort in seeing that he plainly knew the confusion of the ages was not limited to His own time and that much seems foretold in the scriptures.

Luke
Chapter 21

When you hear of wars and insurrections, do not be terrified; for such things must happen first, but it will not immediately be the end."

Then he said to them, "Nation will rise against nation, and kingdom against kingdom.
11
There will be powerful earthquakes, famines, and plagues from place to place; and awesome sights and mighty signs will come from the sky.

Sorry, my link above was not correct, here it is again.

German Eyed as Next Pope:

I do not wish to appear hostile to the Catholic Church. But I want to see the Church take a leadership role in defending our Western culture and not actively promote the liberal ideals that are seeing Europe awash in a sea of Third World asylum seekers. They are not asking much, only to make Europe Islamic while the pope makes them comfortable and seeks new souls elsewhere like in China.

This is nothing more than taqiyyah in action. A skit for the gullible. On the side of the Orthodox Jews (yes, there are liberal Orthodox Jews) it is futility in hoping that if some "extremists" are outed then it will be proof that Jews overall do not approve, distance their politics from the "extremists" and now there will be peace.

There is a group, Kach, founded by rabbi Meir Kahane who believe that Muslims/Palestinians dedicated to the destruction of Israel should be transferred -- disengaged from Israel and sent to any one of the 22 nations with land masses that dwarf tiny Israel. Believe it or not, 70% of Palestinians polled have said they would be willing to leave with payment.

According to Kach, Palestinians who want to stay and live in peace can do so. Makes sense. But when political correct, super left-leaning Israelis got wind of the idea they needed a hug and declared that Kahane is a terrorist group. It is outlawed in Israel and listed as a terrorist group by the State Dept. You cannot even wear a Kahane T-shirt in Israel. The irony is there are Arabs in Knesset who harangue Jews, openly agree with terrorist philosophy and support the elimination of Israel but a Jew who encourages other Jews to self defense is a danger and considered a terrorist.

G-d forbid someone come up with an idea that makes sense instead of ignoring the murders, sky rocketing birth rate, and broken peace agreements by their malignant neighbors. No matter what bloody truth is revealed to these liberally deranged, it is not enough! They must submit to PC suicidal capitulation -- "just one more Oslo, Saudi Peace plan, Road Map, disengagement pleease?"

In 1990 Rabbi Kahane was murdered in New York by an Arab terrorist El Sayyid Nosair. Nosair was acquitted of murder by a New York jury but found guilty in federal court of violating Rabbi Kahane's civil rights.(yep, death will do that) Nosair also was given life imprisonment for his role in the first WTC bombing..

Kach have been outlawed in Israel and are no longer allowed to run candidates for the Knesset. Kahane's son, Binny Kahane, carries on his father's vision in the settlement where he lives. Although I was not a fan of Kahane's views, my opinion has changed radically since the second intifada started.

Yes, there are liberal Orthodox Jews. However, even the "ultra-Orthodox" (despicable term coined by an antisemitic press) do not have beheading rooms, suicide bomb belts nor do they encourage their children to die for any cause. The rabbis attending are sitting down with snakes.

"Where are the Jewish "extremists"? Where are the Jewish groups in Europe doing violence in order to impose Jewish law on the continent?"

What more needs to be said?

On December 31 2000, rabbi Binyamin Kahane and his wife Talia were ambushed and murdered while enroute from Jerusalem to their home in Kfar Tapuach leaving their five children orphaned...

I was not disparaging my co-religionists (Orthodox Jews) by describing those in the article as 'liberal.'

" if you're open to taking some of my questions off the site."

Yes I am, how do I do that?

I'm not sure why the link doesn't work for you. If you go to the link below you can scroll down to the bottom of the page to find, "Never Again, and we mean it!" ...

Thanks to both of you for fixing the links. It was a very interesting site. I had no idea that R. Kahane's murderer was linked to the first attack on the WTC. It's the same old thing: Jews are so often the canary in the coal mine.

Kemaste, susan_b keeps a list of email addresses for those of us on this site who want to be in contact with each other. Perhaps she'll pop in here and give you directions on how to access that info.

Another cheap ruse by Muslims that are stuck in the "Denial" stage, even if the claim of 99 percent of Muslims want peace that still leaves about 10,000,000 that hate Jews and want Israel wiped of the map.
They love playing with numbers to create this veneer of a passive Islam that preaches peace and tolerance, too bad the prison population shows a different facet to Islam and is disproportionately
displayed in the figures.
Even in Canada's prisons the Muslims have grown so much that a Imam was hired to deal with issues
inside the prison, sadly it was CAIR that actually bragged about this as some kind of breakthrough or virtue for Islam.
