CAIR Named as a Defendant in 9/11 Terror Lawsuit

Good news from Daniel Pipes, with thanks to all who sent this in:

CAIR Named as a Defendant in 9/11 Terror Lawsuit A class action lawsuit in the name of John P. O'Neill, Sr., stemming from the 9/11 atrocity, has named the Council on American-Islamic Relations as a defendant. (For those confused about the multiple 9/11 court cases, there is help on the way at http://www.september11terrorlitigation.com/.) Here are the paragraphs dealing with CAIR's role in the events of September 11, 2001, from the second amended class action complaint, filed today:

86. Council on American Islamic Relations and CAIR Canada (collectively, CAIR), have aided, abetted, and materially sponsored and al Qaeda and international terrorism. CAIR is an outgrowth of the Hamas front group the Islamic Association of Palestine. The FBI's former associate director in charge of Investigative and Counter-Intelligence Operations described the Islamic Association of Palestine as an organization that has directly supported Hamas military goals and is a front organization for Hamas that engages in propaganda for Islamic militants. It has produced videotapes that are very hate-filled, full of vehement propaganda. It is an organization that has supported direct confrontation.

87. CAIR and CAIR-Canada have, since their inception, been part of the criminal conspiracy of radical Islamic terrorism. These organizations play a unique role in the terrorist network. They emanate from the notorious HAMAS terrorist organization and like so many of the terrorism facilitating charities named and indicted by the United States government they are engaged in fund raising under the guise of assisting humanitarian causes they are, in reality, a key player in international terrorism. The unique role played by CAIR and CAIR-Canada is to manipulate the legal systems of the United States and Canada in a manner that allows them to silence critics, analysts, commentators, media organizations, and government officials by leveling false charges of discrimination, libel, slander and defamation. In addition, both organizations have actively sought to hamper governmental anti-terrorism efforts by direct propaganda activities aimed at police, first-responders, and intelligence agencies through so-called sensitivity training. Their goal is to create as much self-doubt, hesitation, fear of name-calling, and litigation within police departments and intelligence agencies as possible so as to render such authorities ineffective in pursuing international and domestic terrorist entities.

88. The role of CAIR and CAIR-Canada is to wage PSYOPS (psychological warfare) and disinformation activities on behalf of Whabbi-based [Wahhabi-based, DP] Islamic terrorists throughout North America. They are the intellectual "shock troops" of Islamic terrorism. In the years and months leading up to the terrorist attacks on September 11, 2001 these organizations were very effective in helping to ensure that North American law enforcement and intelligence officials were sufficiently deaf, dumb, and blind to help pave the way for the attacks on the United States. The role played by these entities is an absolutely essential part of the mix of forces arrayed against the United States as they help soften-up targeted countries so as to facilitate and enhance the likelihood for a successful attack.

Don't miss Pipes' comments, at his site.

This "growing litigiousness" may have the interesting effect of alienating the Left further. It will be more and more difficult for the Left to convince the people of the perceived political correctness of supporting such organizations as CAIR while the TV sets continue to show jihadi carnage.

Here is Steven Emerson's superb 1998 prepared statement before the Senate Judiciary Committee Subcommittee on Terrorism, Technology and Government Information. It is a lengthy presentation, but well worth reading and filing for reference material:

FOREIGN TERRORISTS IN AMERICA: FIVE YEARS AFTER THE WORLD TRADE CENTER BOMBING

The Intimidation of Writers and Journalists by CAIR (Council on American Islamic Relations)

The American connections to Islamic Terror

http://www.geocities.com/johnathanrgalt/emerson.html

Excerpt of note:

"If not confronted, the efforts by radical Islamic groups such as the Council on American Islamic Relations (CAIR) and the American Muslim Council (AMC) to intimidate those who speak out on the threat of militant Islamic fundamentalism poses one of the greatest dangers to the freedoms in American society. In point of fact--elucidated later in this testimony--these groups are actual political wings of radical Islamic fundamentalist organizations. They have defended terrorist groups, terrorist leaders including Hamas chieftain Musa Marzook and WorldTrade Center bombing conspiracy ringleader Sheik Omar Abdul Rahman, and the Sudanese terrorist regime currently engaged in a genocidal war against the Christian minority. Both of these groups have sponsored visits in the United States of leading international militants and known anti-Semites (including those who exhorted their followers to kill Jews) and consistently attacked American writers for exposing the threat of militant Islamic extremism. These groups pose a clear and present danger to American freedoms and society, not to mention moderate Muslims around the globe."

This is *not* good news; this is another example of litigation gone wild. There is no reason to hold CAIR legally responsible for 9/11, any more than there is to hold the Michigan Militia or other right-wing anti-government wingnuts legally responsible for the Oklahoma City bombing. I know people like Bill Clinton might welcome such a result, but it would mean the end of the rule of law in this country.

CGW:

I am Loving it,below is a partial statement
by Sheema Khan of CAIR-Canada on the use of Sharia-Law which she is now a proponent of as part of CAIR's demand for it in Canada.

Her oration is long but very revealing about her mindset and subtle charade to push the Islamic agenda in Canada,Khan has also been appointed to the Board of Canadian Civil Rights
which is mostly lawyers used the Charter to defend the implied defenceless.

* this is the synopsis at the end and it's so ironic that she boasts in her credentials that she's part of CAIR-Canada,yet the tag-line disclaimer absolves CAIR as being connected to the opinion express outside of any official Press-releases by CAIR.

For the whole article just use the above link.

Let us hope that those who seek to apply sharia in Zamfara do so fully -- by searching deep into Islamic legal precedence. A cursory approach will lead to injustice, and possibly the death of an innocent young woman. And that is a burden no God-fearing Muslim wishes to carry.
Sheema Khan, a PhD in chemical physics from Harvard, is director and chair of the Council on American-Islamic Relations/Canada, a group formed to educate institutions and the public about Islam. The opinions expressed in this article are her own and do not necessarily represent those of the CAIR.

seamus:

Here's the link to a book documenting the connection to a Saudi Islamist group that recruited Timothy McViegh and also shows the Truck-bomb in Oklahoma was identical in construction to the WTC bomb use in the underground parking.
McViegh's wife was from South-east Asian and connected to the Jihadist movement there.

"This is not good news", so says Seamus.
Well excuse the hell out of me, this is not only good news, it's GREAT news.Looks like the good guys are starting to finally find a bit of traction in the legal arena, one place the scum have heretofore thought they had the upper hand.
Seamus,I have not seen you comment here before, but if this your first time you've blown your cover you troll.

Of course this is very good news. Finally this may mean that CAIR is going to be found out and a court-case like this should get quite a press coverage... Well done. Let's hope there's more to come.

I'm sorry, but this lawsuit is a joke. If you parse the complaint, it basically says: "(A)CAIR is an offshoot of Hamas. Hamas is a radical terror organization. Al-Qaeda is a radical terror organization. Therefore CAIR is legally answerable for all Al-Qaeda's torts, including those they committed on 9/11. (B) CAIR uses its public relations machine to make law enforcement shy about appearing to come down too hard on Wahabists. This has enabled Wahabist terrorists to get away with stuff they otherwise wouldn't have gotten away with. That might include the 9/11 attacks. So CAIR is legally answerable for the 9/11 attacks. QED."

Gimme a break. If this lawsuit has any merit, then Senators McCain and Denton could claim, with much more justice, that the CPUSA ought to pay them damages for the torture inflicted on them by their North Vietnamese captors. In fact, however, I suspect this complaint is no more than an attempt to bankrupt CAIR with the expenses of defeding against a meritless suit. And that's an abuse of the legal process, even if CAIR is ten times as evil as the CPUSA.
