UK: If "Islamophobia" doesn't exist, it must be invented

This dhimmi Guardian piece (thanks to Anthony) about a new film depicting British "Islamophobia" contains a revealing detail: while filming an episode of harassment of a Muslim, two passing Brits who didn't realize they were stepping into a film shoot stopped to intervene in defense of the person being assaulted. But the Guardian writer, Stuart Jeffries, dismisses this as evidence that the British are not as violent and xenophobic as the film suggests. Nor does he consider that British "Islamophobia" may be driven more from suspicion about the intentions of British Muslims to try to institute Sharia there, rather than racism or bigotry.

Jeffries hopes that it will do some good for beleaguered Muslims in Britain. It doesn't seem to occur to him that it would do much greater good for Muslims in Britain to cooperate fully with anti-terror efforts, and help authorities identify all the followers of Omar Bakri and Al-Muhajiroun, among others.

On Monday the BNP announced that its leader, Nick Griffin, would stand as parliamentary candidate for Keighley, one of West Yorkshire's most racially sensitive towns, in the next election. By a happy coincidence, this is the town in which Yasmin, a film about a Muslim community in northern England dealing with Islamophobia after the 9/11 attacks, was filmed. I say "happy" because the film's most moving scene shows Keighley in a more racially harmonious light than would ever be dreamt of in Griffin's philosophy.

In that scene, a gang of young white boys throw milk at a Muslim woman wearing a burka in a Keighley shopping precinct and yell at her to go home. Simon Beaufoy's script has the eponymous Yasmin comforting the distressed woman, but what is particularly lovely about the scene is that an elderly white woman, appalled at the boys' behaviour, rushes up to the two women to apologise.

The woman turns out to have been a passing shopper who did not realise she had stumbled on to a film shoot. "It was such a great unscripted moment, we decided we had to keep it in," says producer Sally Hibbin. "There was also an old bloke who started coming over and attacking the kids for what they were doing. He didn't know we were making a film, either."

A sceptic might argue that these real-life interventions subvert the film's rather schematic perspective on Islamophobia in northern England. But that would be a tad unfair: Kenny Gleenan's film, based on six months' research in Asian communities in Pennine mill towns by two white, middle-class men (Gleenan and Beaufoy), is evidently an important picture dramatising how Muslim communities in Britain have been tormented in the wake of 9/11.

The Nazi master propagandist and chicken farmer Joseph Goebbels, perfected disinformation and Propaganda methodology to deadly effeciency. He devised Propagand Principles which were designed to destroy all dissent and opposition to the party.

Specifically, Principles:

6. To be perceived, propaganda must evoke the interest of an audience and must be transmitted through an attention-getting communications medium.

14. Propaganda must label events and people with distinctive phrases or slogans.

16. Propaganda to the home front must create an optimum anxiety level.

Sounds like the "Islamophobia" movement is pushing on us a problem, which considering the mayhem Islamists are causing worldwide, is for the most part non-existent.

Remarkable considering we appear to actually be coddling and pandering to all Moslems simply because they are Moslems and totally ignoring their many anti-societal behavior and proclamation of superiority -- such as this:

The Guardian does not give as much information as the Radio Times (the Bleedin' Biased Corporation program guide with all the PC baggage one might expect). Apparently Yasmin is forced into an arranged marriage with her cousin, a goatherd. A lonely goatherd, it seems, who steals a goat "to keep him company" which he keeps in the backyard of their house. This, and the goatherds improvised lines in Punjabi is intended to inject "comedy into an otherwise tragic story". Based on a true story, but toned down; the real goat lived inside the house.
I can't wait, must get my ironing done in time for 9pm!?*

Here's another suggestion:
For each suicide bombing in the Middle East, send a suicide pig bomber to a mosque.
A bit of a tit-for-tat or pig-and-fat action:)

The last thing the Brits should care about is the welfare and comfort of the 'Muslim community of Britain'. So long as there's no legal ground to toss them out, let them feel they are NOT welcome here.

The film sounds quite interesting - I'll give it a go. Maybe it isn't so preachy as the Guardian article suggests.

It's by the guy who made The Full Monty, an excellent film.

By the way there is a series of Ch 4 programmes at 6pm on Saturdays calling into question the idea of Islamophobia. No doubt someone will whinge that this is itself Islamophobic, but I think the programmes will be worth watching.

The Guardian is always so interesting.
It is strange that on the story page
the comment is made:
"Why didn't Yasmin make it into cinemas?"
strange how they never ask the same question of the film "submission".

Also the scene in the film of a group of youths throwing milk over her because she was veilled.

well it could have been worse, she could have been whipped in iran, beaten in afghanistan, saudia arabia or had acid thrown in her face in pakistan or been the victim of multiple gang rape in some french ghetto for not wearing the veil.

I think she got of lightly.
Mind you I am a racist, the Punjabi branch of the BNP/KKK/Aryan Nations

"Islamophobia", what a crock of $hit this is. I detest the use of this term. I wonder who invented it ?

"It doesn't seem to occur to him that it would do much greater good for Muslims in Britain to cooperate fully with anti-terror efforts, and help authorities identify all the followers of Omar Bakri and Al-Muhajiroun, among others."

This isn't rocket science!

A note to all UK and US Muslims:
Cooperating with the authorities would go a long way towards disspelling much of the suspicion you are encountering in our countries. Till then, deal with having your mosques monitored and your homes and offices wiretapped.

It is unfortunate that the islamic slang doesnt roll off the tounge quite so smooth in the OTHER direction......
Kuffarphobe....
Infidelphobia
Kaffirphobia
Democra-phobia
Freedomphobe
ah heck you know

Humanphobia.

If the ill treatment is as pervasive as they want the ignorant section of humanity to belive, why did they have to STAGE abuse .....Youd think they could just walk around randomly filming actual events of Muslim-bashing that aparantly is happening all over.... every minute of every day.

"Ridiculai unbelivablis" :a new virus that has been spreading across the earth for a very long time .I can make up words.. all day long.

Awww, the poor little Muslim communities have been tormented? I assume the movie won't show Muslims celebrating on 9/11 and the British mosque where they supported the "Magnificent 19" hijackers. And they probably won't show what Muslims are doing to non-Muslims all over the world- 9/11, terrorism against Israel, Beslan, Bali, Sudan, etc. No mention of the '93 WTC bombing, Lockerbie, the 1972 Munich Olympics, throwing an elderly man in a wheelchair into the ocean (I don't remember the name of the incident, etc. Or the torment that Muslims inflict on each other (particularly women and gays).

If islamphobia exists in the U.K. so does infidelphobia.

'Islamophobia' ('fear of Islam') is perfectly rational.

What is 'Islam' doing except sowing mayhem, fomenting hatred and contempt for the 'decadent infidels', and working to supplant secular democracies with the despotic theocratic tyranny of Shaira Law, globally?

The correct word would be 'disgust with Islam'.
But my 'Greek word endings' skill isn't that good, so I'll leave it up to the pundits to invent THAT word.

Perhaps, in the meantime:

Islamo-nausea?

Megan
The elderly man in the wheelchair was a Jewish passenger on the Cruise ship Achille Lauro which was hijacked by Palastinian terrorists lead by one Mohammed Abbas in October 1985. He was actually shot first then hurled overboard. John Adams wrote an opera about it:- The Death of Klinghoffer.

'Yasmin' will be screened today 10pm GMT on Channel 4. I suspect that Yasmin is, in all intents and purposes an innocent. I suspect she knows next to nothing about the verses of the qu'ran, unlike the readers of Robert Spencers site.

We must never advocate the shunning of Yasmins. The real enemies are the ones preaching intolerance in the Mosques around the country. The majority of (westernised) Muslims I have met have no idea about their religion, they only now of Muslim customs such as Ramadan. Most of these 'Muslims' dont even go to the mosque.

On the flip side I have met the 'fundamental' Muslims and it is not a pretty experience. They have no compassion for humanity and praise 9-11. It these that we should (vigorously?) oppose.

There's a burka-clad woman (at least I presume that's what's under the veil) who walks around my neighborhood. I see her every few days or so.

Though I hate to admit it, every time she shows up I get the urge to yell "go home!"

Throwing milk might also be a fun alternative.

Of course I won't do it, but the sight of this black-clad crow just sets my teeth on edge.

Ummagumma:

Infidelophobia exists anywhere there are practicing Muslims. It's an article of faith.

No comment lol. We are human beings after all. After all is said an done, you don't do it. If you're anything like me, you're day will be full of minor irritations, that, because we're sane, rational people we can fantasise about such things and that's were they stay.

I had a particularly stressful day not so long ago, I walked out of the underground and there were some Socialist Workers, with signs saying Bush & Blair were world no.1 terrorist. I accidentally told one of the ladies who tried to speak with me to F*** off. I felt quite guilty afterwards.

Profitsbeard, islamo-nausea is the perfect term for what I feel toward these islamobots. Very clever.
