U.S. presses Europe to shun Hizballah

WASHINGTON Opening up a new divide in trans-Atlantic relations, the Bush administration is increasing the pressure on Europe to list Hezbollah as a terrorist organization and impose economic sanctions.
But it has been rebuffed by France and other countries concerned that such an action will anger Iran and backfire.

A European diplomat said that Israel, with U.S. backing, made the case for listing Hezbollah at a meeting Wednesday in Brussels of the so-called Clearing House, a unit of the European Union.

The Clearing House decided against acting because of a lack of consensus on the issue, the diplomat said.

The United States got the European Union to list Hamas as a terrorist organization in the autumn of 2003, but in a measure of continuing disagreement about how to handle the Middle East, some European countries are questioning whether Hamas should remain listed now that some of its members have won elections in Gaza.

Oh, they've won elections? Well, then that makes all those murders of civilians on buses and in restaurants all right.

Will they also discuss SA backing of terrorism? Or will the Carlyle group's heavy investment in countries like France and Germany, put that on hold?

They don't want to upset the mullahs in Iran. Good grief - it's like with Hitler - he'd throw hissy fits on purpose to "scare" the diplomats, and they'd take his crap to their governments and recommend they didn't do anything to make him mad. Golly, how much worse can it get? They're making NUKES people! They've openly talked about nuking Israel and mused about how many people would die (all the jews, but, only a portion of Iranians - Iranians come back, jews don't - they win).

Only Islam matters - human life is expendable.

Europe is a dead man walking.

Just what Hezbollah, Hamas and al-Qaeda are all hoping for in the "War on Terror" - a divided, ineffectual opposition.

I recall when studying world history in elementary school musing on what could possibly cause Europeans to make the kinds of mistakes that led up to World War 2. I took for granted the words of my elders that it was European ways of thinking that caused my ancestors to leave that continent and settle in America. Now, in the article above, we have an example in real time of how the supposed sophistication of Europeans clouds their moral clarity, and they embrace the very ideas that will destroy their civilization. Europe, you're on your own.

Islam bears within itself the fanatical and intolerant seeds of its own demise in the Western world.

Western insights of the Enlightenment - reason can lead to truth, freedom can lead to equality, and history can lead to progress – we must ensure this will never be forgotten.

Remember, embrace science, the natural world will bountifully reward those who search its mysteries.

Freedom in western countries is ours to embody & defend. Our freedom is worth only what we are willing to sacrifice in its defense. A great could of witness from our past looks now to us. We must defeat the scourge of Islam & totalitarianism.

mr frenchy laypew has made a deal with the devil and his name is hizbola.they will not lable hizbola as a terrorist group;would someone please draft a letter to the president and remind him of his words of not so long ago"youre either with us,or your against us"and "we do not negotiate with terrorist",inform him the people are holding him accountable to those words as witnessed by recent election.

You are right, Rational.... Man is given free will (at least in the Torah and the Bible). We must live IN the World, but man also has the freedom to decide they won't be "OF the World". Jesus said, "Render to Cesar what is Cesars" i.e., respect the laws of man and abide by them under all circumstances. Only God needs to know what is in your heart... do not outwardly practice your faith for what good is it to show your faith to men? What good is it to trumpet your faith, other than to run those off, who might want to learn and know God? Don't be pious and elevate yourselves amongst men, for the weakest are really the strongest, and the strongest are really the weakest. Pretty cool, huh?

islam doesn't give anyone a choice... it's bow to allah 5x a day, worship my profit, shave your cootchie, wipe your ass with a bone, wear a veil, allow yourself to be treated like cattle, trim your nails on Wednesdays only, do not speak or hold public office, do not step outside your home without an escort, have your genitalia mutilated willingly, or I cut off your head, stone you, or hang you from a crane. How peaceful and glorious.

I am so glad that I live in a free Country. I will fight to the death to avoid the scenario outlined in the paragraph above. I'd make a really, really, really bad muslim....
