Why is the DoD list server being used by CAIR?

Aaron at Internet Haganah (thanks to Romy) notes some dhimmitude at the DoD:

WTF, Over. [Why is the DoD list server being used by CAIR?]

No sooner did I sign up for three US Department of Defence mailing lists (DEFENSE-PRESS-SERVICE, DODNEWS and DODIMAGEGALLERY) than I received an email.

What did I expect? Well, what I did *not* expect was a press release from the Council on American-Islamic Relations (CAIR)

He then reproduces CAIR's message -- it's one of their standard press releases.

So you tell me: why is the DoD list server being used by a group with a background like CAIR's?

I have to say that, although the access of such a group as CAIR to Defence computers has its threatening aspects, this seems to me mostly a case of bureaucratic dunder-headedness. You could practically write a stand-up comedian routine about it.

Veddddddddy interesting....

Being retired military, and a private pilot, I was impressed to see the lead in sentence of WTF, Over.

What fond memories.

Don't kid yourself, there is much nicey, nicey political correctness in the military.

PS

Not to worry, just a case of bureaucratic dunderheadedness?

Sounds like old fashioned ole whitewash to me ...

I would be curious to know when they got on the same listing server. I'm sure the conspiracy theorists are right behind me on this, tho for the wrong reasons...

Hey, Kemaste, I never said it wasn't dangerous, a dereliction of duty, even treacherous through stupidity. I only said that it sounded to me like the kind of idiocy that thrives among lard-arsed bureaucrats - who, in turn, thrive in military environments. Remember the old joke about military intelligence being a contradiction in terms? Having done my time in my country's armed forces, I can confirm that it is true. (When I was enlisted, I informed the army that I spoke English, French and German - the languages of our main allies. So they sent me to serve in a wholly useless little office on a mountain, where the only person who spoke a foreign language was a fellow-soldier who had been a waiter in London. That set me right about military efficiency and use of available resources.)

The question is: How many Islamists are operating under the radar at all levels and in all departments of the U.S. government?

Posted by: epg [TypeKey Profile Page] at March 10, 2005 3:52 PM

That is the question I have been asking for a while, epg. TOO MANY FOR SURE.

Lots, and lots, and lots, epg. Oh my God, you wouldn't believe how many. Very scary.
