A new entry for the Here We Go Again Department, from the Journal News of Westchester, NY, with thanks to Nicolei.
PURCHASE - The teachers were gathered at round tables, answering a quiz about the Jewish scripture, the New Testament and the Quran. They were asked to match the holy book with the quotations, which included references to Adam in the garden, Moses parting the sea and the immaculate conception of Mary. To the surprise of some, the correct match for all of the above was the Quran, the Islamic holy book.
See, it's just like the Bible! See, Muslims hate terrorism as much as anyone else! See, terrorists are just a tiny minority of extremists, like the KKK! I can write the rest of the script without even having been there. And of course, the chances they studied the jihad verses are as great as those of the proverbial snowball.
"For most people, this quiz serves as a wake-up call," said Audrey Shabbas, who led the workshop, "Teaching about the Arab World and Islam," at Manhattanville College in Purchase yesterday. "When talking about Judaism, Christianity and Islam, we're talking about connections, not just similarities."Shabbas' organization, the Arab World and Islamic Resources, conducts workshops nationwide to help educators understand Arab culture and history, as well as Islamic faith, and to bring that knowledge into the classroom.
The workshop included discussions about geography, the different populations of Muslims, and the connections between Arabs and Muslims and the United States.
Many of the 21 teachers who participated were history teachers, but others taught elementary school or art and came to the workshop to learn more about the traditions of the Muslim and Arab students in their schools.
Theresa Kubasak, who teaches second grade at a Manhattan school, said she wanted to learn more about her students' backgrounds.
"It validates the kids' cultures who are sitting in my classroom," she said. "I have all kinds of kids who have experienced war and racism. They deserve to have a teacher who understands their culture."
Louise Kuklis, an economics and global studies teacher at Edgemont High School, wanted to tackle her own assumptions and misconceptions.
"Ever since Sept. 11," she said, "kids have had so many questions.
They're always wondering what is this religion that terrorism comes from. I'm trying to give them awareness of Muslim
society."...
Yes, of course, we're all just one big, happy family - that's the ticket, just one big, happy family...let's not worry about who gets to play the Daddy.

The U.S. doesn't have an obligation to "validate" or maintain the culture of any group that enters intending to become Americans.
A purpose of American schools is to provide instruction that gives students skills for a successful life in the U.S. and to pass along the elements of our common culture, not to inculcate the values of other groups and impose them on the mainstream culture.

"To the surprise of some, the correct match for all of the above was the Quran, the Islamic holy book."
But instead of pointing out the obvious, that Islam has plagerised and corrupted the message of the earlier sources (like David and Goliath becomes Talut and Jalut - Saul and Goliath - to belittle David's status) to use them against the Jews and Christians, they blindly accept what they are spoon-fed. With such stupid, gullible, and uncritical Daawa-fodder the Muslims are laughing all the way to the Kaaba.
Keep up the good work Robert, the truth will out!

So, what's the underlying point here, really? (That Islam is plagerized from Judaism and Christianity, yet humbly passes itself off as the most perfected version of monotheism.)

A few days ago there was a good piece posted here that bore the Mother-Goose-cum-John-Skelton title "Come into my parlor..." More of the same with Audrey Shabbas and her :Teaching About the Arab World and Islam" and "wake-up call." Will any of the parents or teachers observing this farce take a moment to instruct those who are being fed this propaganda in the theory and history of Islam. Will anyone at the Catholic school, Manhattanville, bother to read, at a minimum, Bat Ye'or's "Islam and Dhimmitude" and "The Decline of Eastern Christianity Under Islam." Or read Mark Durie's essay "The Muslim Jesus" which can be found in Robert Spencer's "The Myth of Islamic Tolerance." Surely someone at Manhattanville, some faculty members, can bother to find out what Aubdrey Shabbas is so smilingly, with such seeming goodwill, up to -- can't they?
The Muslim Spider, the Naive Infidel Flies, and that Tangled Web She Weaves. Buzz, buzz.

Here we go again is right. Attached is a link to the racist, hypocritical CAIR site. They are shedding more IslamoTears over National Review Magazine's courage to speak the truth about their devilish cult.
http://www.cair-net.org/default.asp?Page=articleView&id=1495&theType=NR
Of course, after you read this column and realize that CAIR is playing the race card again and encouraging their sheep to contact National Review to ask them to repudiate their opinions of Islam, it should encourage all of you to contact National Review and praise them.
CAIR of course wants an apology, as usual. However, an apology from National Review would be very surprising.
From the column:
Neocon Mag Promotes Anti-Muslim Hate Literature
CAIR seeks clarification, apology from National Review
(WASHINGTON, D.C., 3/17/05) - The Council on American-Islamic Relations (CAIR) today called on a prominent national neoconservative magazine to clarify its policy on anti-Muslim hate following revelations that the publication distributed an Internet advertisement for an virulently Islamophobic book. CAIR's request came in response to a complaint from a member of the National Review's e-mail list who received a message promoting an apparently self-published book that, according to the magazine, is a “guide into the dark mind of [the Prophet] Mohammed.”
The National Review's review of the book states: “[The author] explains why Mohammed couldn't possibly be a true prophet, and reveals the true sources of his ‘revelations.'” It quotes the author as claiming: "Mohammed posed as the apostle of God…while his life is marked by innumerable marriages; and great licentiousness, deeds of rapine, warfare, conquests, unmerciful butcheries, all the time invoking God's holy name to sanction his evil deeds.”
According to the National Review, the book shows how “Mohammed again and again justified his rapine and licentiousness with new ‘divine revelations.'” “This anti-Muslim screed is the literary equivalent of ‘The Protocols of the Elders of Zion' and should not be promoted by a publication that has any sense of decency,” said CAIR Communications Director Ibrahim Hooper. “The National Review must clarify its position on Islamophobic hate speech and offer a public apology for promoting a book that so viciously attacks the faith of one-fifth of the world's population.”
Blah blah blah......Enough mouthing off from Dougie Hooper already. Contact national Review and pat them on the back:

And why didn't any of these teachers ask:
"Hey, how the hell did parts of the Old and New Testament end up in the Koran? Wasn't it written down over 600 years later? If one of my students used uncredited material in an assignment, I'd give them an F. Looks like Mohammad gets an F. For cribbing work from another source, without quotations marks, at the very least. The prophet deserves detention and a dunce cap."
But they are the average uncritical, uninformed, chickensh*t airheads of the current p.c. 'edjamahkayshun' mills. Never reading anything but harlequin romances or stephen king thrillers beyond their rote curriculum requirements. And maybe a glance at the History Channel between Fear Factor and C.S.I.- Peoria.
But, to read the Koran, itself. Perish the thought!
And thereby perishes the thought process.
I can almost see the cartoon-balloon "Duh" 's floating over their [hollow sound of crickets chirping] heads.
Let's bring in some of the old Aztec religious texts that mention "eating the flesh of their god" (Lordy, Lordy, that sounds just like you-know-which religion, too!), and see if we want to inculcate tearing out living hearts and wearing the skin of our victims as a sacred duty for the next generation, as well.
F's, for one and all.
(But an "A" for cunning to the Muslim.)

The newspaper article quoted shows the utter religious ignorance of the typical MSM reporter: the immaculate conception of Mary refers to her being preserved free from the taint of original sin, and was promulgated as Roman Catholic dogma no earlier than the 19th century (it is NOT the virgin birth of Jesus Christ, taught in the Gospels of Matthew and Luke).
Yes, indeed. Our people are becoming mindless da'wa fodder.
