Australian Cleric: Raped Women have Themselves to Blame

Well of course, "Women incite men's lust with 'satanic dress'" from the Australian Sun-Herald, with thanks to Nicolei:

A Muslim sheik told followers at a public meeting in Bankstown that women who were raped had incited men's lust by dressing immodestly and only had themselves to blame.

Sydney-born Sheik Faiz Mohamad, 34, a former boxer who teaches at the Global Islamic Youth Centre in Liverpool, made the comments during a lecture for more than 1000 people at Bankstown Town Hall.

The Sun-Herald has a recording of the March 18 speech in which Sheik Faiz said: "A victim of rape every minute somewhere in the world. Why? No one to blame but herself. She displayed her beauty to the entire world . . .

"Strapless, backless, sleeveless, nothing but satanic skirts, slit skirts, translucent blouses, miniskirts, tight jeans: all this to tease man and appeal to his carnal nature."

He compared a woman dressed in such a way to a sheep. "Would you put this sheep that you adore in the middle of hungry wolves? No . . . It would be devoured. It's the same situation here. You're putting this precious girl in front of lustful, satanic eyes of hungry wolves. What is the consequence? Catastrophic devastation, sexual harassment, perversion, promiscuity."

Sheik Faiz also exhorted Muslim women to wear the hijab head covering as "a liberation from male scrutiny"...

"It's sad to see today how young girls are being brought up," he said. "The way they dress, their hairstyles . . . layers of make-up, which they just shovel on in order to remove afterwards, tanning out in the sun, bronzed, shiny so she can shine the lustful eyes of men; extreme dieting, working out. Why? So she can get the best figure, but not for her husband."

He also condemned the soap opera Days Of Our Lives, which he said made wives negative towards their husbands, and said "premarital sex is fashionable, that manipulation, deceit, cheating, lying falsehood are all essential ways to get the man or lady of your dreams".

Sheik Faiz declined to be interviewed.

Hate Speech! Hate Speech!
He's inciting Muslim men to rape western women!
He's telling Muslim men he excuses the rape western women!
He's saying Muslim men are not a fault!
He's telling western women how to dress!
Hate Speech!
Call the FBI and Homeland security! Incitement! Call Gloria Feinstien!

That really is hate speech.

It would be interesting to see the proportion of Muslim sex offenders in various prisons in the West. This is just anecdotal, but I have a lawyer friend who said that in the UK the number of sex offenders who are of Pakistani Muslim descent is larger than the national average.

"lustful, satanic eyes of hungry wolves."

Yes a pretty accurate description of Islam's finest young men.

No suggestion that they might learn to resist temptation, in the manner of Gandhi or the desert fathers.

Imagine a nice shiny piece of gold and diamond bling, glittering under the lights in the pawnshops window? You're putting this precious jewel in front of lustful, satanic eyes of hungry wolves. What is the consequence? Smash and grab, robbery, theft, shoplifting etc. While shoplifting is trivial compared with rape they would not like it if their precious loot was taken, simply because it was there. No they cut off the hands of thieves.

So what should be cut off a rapist?

"Strapless, backless, sleeveless, nothing but satanic skirts, slit skirts, translucent blouses, miniskirts, tight jeans: all this to tease man and appeal to his carnal nature....tanning out in the sun, bronzed, shiny so she can shine the lustful eyes of men; extreme dieting, working out. Why? So she can get the best figure...

He probably excited himself to the point he had to retire to his study with the latest Victorias Secret catalouge to study for next weeks sermon..."oh and ahmed please ensure I am not disturbed ...I have..err...intense studying of wicked infidel culture to read...yeah.. read up on"

So if old faiz thinks that a persons way of dressing encites violence against them...and that that is their own fault for wearing that type of clothing...well then by his way of thinking, if he walks out in his little white gown and knitted bonnet with his scraggly beard and a group of aussies jump him and beat him sensless, well then gee its his own fault for dressing that way...see freak it works both ways.

Granny:

Seems to me that little penalty granny proposes wought to be added to Sharria law, but alas, it's the woman's fault, and her guilt requires her to be hanged for fornication.

I love these Guys! NOT!!!!!

Posted by: BillR [TypeKey Profile Page] at April 24, 2005 10:58 AM

These guys are crazy and disgusting. How can a woman be blamed for the assault another perpetrates upon her?

Sadly many religious lunatics think this. The lunatic Christian website 'Ladies against feminism' shares the same sentiment as this Sheik Faiz Mohamad. They say 'When I see a couple of young women walking on the road together, stomach, thighs, shoulders and upper chest bared, I know they are courting disaster. It is a perfect formula for "missing girl last seen wearing...." (article here: http://www.ladiesagainstfeminism.org/artman/publish/article_1203.shtml)

And they quote the bible to justify this saying ‘the Bible does clearly demonstrate that a girl who "plays the harlot" and entices men is to be held accountable for her actions (see Lev. 21:9 and Deut. 22:20-21). When a girl wears a "come-on" look and skimpy clothing, she is inviting wrong attentions’ (here: http://www.ladiesagainstfeminism.org/artman/publish/article_1208.shtml)

When we will we be free of this god-obsessed maniacs?

The end of my cudgel finds sheik Mohamads traditional Arab dress breathtaking.

VASELINE!!!!

James:

There has to be a limit to what some call decency. I have to admit, some of the clothes worn by teenagers makes me shake my head. Seems to me, to be PC he should include all those tender young men Muslims seem to favor. After all, they're showing their underwear and the upper part of their crack, and that has to be asking for it too. Gotta be fair about this.

But then I must ask the question, are there any Muslim nudists? Are there any Muslim Hog farmers? Are there any Muslim jihadiasts?

Posted by: BillR [TypeKey Profile Page] at April 24, 2005 12:25 PM

Granny Weatherwax:
Excellent analogy. I suppose the neanderthal cleric's logic also means that if you see a flashy car being driven, you are sanctioned to carjack it, because it incited lust in you. Of course, with the moral relativism prevalent today people like the Harvard President suffer the wrath of the intelligentsia for their comments on women. If he was Muslim, I'm sure there wouldn't have been a peep out of people.

Posted by: sococm [TypeKey Profile Page] at April 24, 2005 12:28 PM

Muslims are obsessed with sex. This bloke needs to take a cold shower.

James:

'When we will we be free of this god-obsessed maniacs? '

It's not just the God botherers though. I was annoyed to see an article on Norwigian Kafir's blog claiming that women who wear the veil are responsible for women who don't getting raped.

Duh...men are responsible for raping not women.

Then again, someone on the same site was arguing that feminists were responsible for women getting raped because they had made the men all girly so they wouldn't defend the women against the Muslim thugs.

Twisted logic.

Posted by: Interested [TypeKey Profile Page] at April 24, 2005 2:31 PM

Muslim lunatics who have incited my rage by acting maniacally deserve to be destroyed, and only have themselves to blame.

I like this guy's logic!

"Any religious leader who shows contempt for women deserves nothing but greater contempt in return."

-SAYINGS OF THE HIDDEN IMAM.

You people are getting a little weird for me what with all these references to buggery. I mean, I know the soldiers did it in Abu Ghraib but that’s no reason to go on about it on this thread!

Anyway, Sococm said that ‘Of course, with the moral relativism prevalent today people like the Harvard President suffer the wrath of the intelligentsia for their comments on women. If he was Muslim, I'm sure there wouldn't have been a peep out of people’

I wondered if this was true so I quickly googled to see what feminists have to say about it. You wouldn't believe it!

It turns out they are very critical of people like this cleric. I found this article by a feminist academic in a liberal magazine:

http://www.bostonreview.net/BR22.5/okin.html

This site of feminists Women Against Fundamentalism: http://waf.gn.apc.org/

This Australian site about myths to do with rape (like that women ask for it): http://www.whv.org.au/factsheets/sv_myths.htm

This: http://www.peak.sfu.ca/the-peak/98-1/issue2/femfeature.html

And this from PC students at Northwestern: http://www.nu-news.com/news/2004/10/20/Editorial/Commentary.Blame.Rape.Perpetrator.Not.Victim-774328.shtml

Not much moral relativism here.

Weird.

BillR: 'There has to be a limit to what some call decency. I have to admit, some of the clothes worn by teenagers makes me shake my head'.

C'mon Bill - don't give any quarter to these crazy clerics. People can wear what they want, when they want, wherever they want - that's freedom and that's the American Way.

Posted by: James [TypeKey Profile Page] at April 24, 2005 2:43 PM

James-

I agree with your note to BillR. Although clothes may arouse erotic stirrings, as they are supposed to at times, it is up to guys to be able to smile and thank Mother Nature for the simultaneous miracle of functioning eyes and admirable self-restraint, and the inalienable right to life, liberty and the pursuit of happiness. (Which includes appreciating the divine female form in all of its manifest glories, however scantily or incongruously clad.)

Let these diseased old Islamic fatwa farts go back to Mecca where they can lust after the hindquarters of the shapeliest sheep in the neighborhood.

Civilization is clearly too much for them.

Me again
I have just remembered a comment from that story about the woman imam leading men and women at prayers in the US cathedral. When one of her critics, (she had stood in front of the mixed congregation, when she should only have been leading women, and then from the side) said something about even veiled a womans's body excites desire.

Nuns, even elderly nuns get raped. Its not about enticement and libido. It's about power.

Posted by: Granny Weatherwax [TypeKey Profile Page] at April 24, 2005 3:16 PM

Muslim men are never responsible for their own thoughts and actions - someone else is always to blame.

"She displayed her beauty to the entire world..."

And he displayed his misogyny to the entire world.

Posted by: Mike [TypeKey Profile Page] at April 24, 2005 4:11 PM

Women's sexual autonomy (and autonomy in every other sphere) is something that scares the Hell out of Muslim men. Their whole religion depends on a false sense of superiority, which they get by not being told regularly by their better halves that they are wrong.

Not that I'm suggesting that men are always wrong. Sometimes, when they agree with me, they're right....

I don't know why these clerics make such a fuss. We all know they prefer young hairless boys.

Posted by: Kemaste [TypeKey Profile Page] at April 24, 2005 6:57 PM

Kemaste:

Too right. A woman for babies. A boy for pleasure. And a camel for ecstasy.

So -

women/precious girl = sheep

muslim rapist =
wolves(hungry, lustful w/satanic eyes)

In Sheik Faiz Mohamad's own words he describes different breeds, the latter as satanic.

Posted by: miira [TypeKey Profile Page] at April 24, 2005 9:27 PM

Self control, restraint, and self-discipline are traits found in mature, socially adjusted people. The culture spawned by Islam is so twisted, sick, depraved and sexually deviant that it naturally produces an abundance of male sexual perverts.

They can't have women until marriage, so they substitute boys, but that's not homosexuality, which is forbidden. Muslim men are allowed to have sex with animals; I suppose the rationale behind this is that women are animals too, so why not. If four wives, boys, and animals aren't enough to satisfy a muslim stud, he can have concubines, slaves, and temporary marriages to satisfy his powerful urges.

Muslim males have absolutely no respect whatsoever for women and view them as fair game. They'll justify their perversions with a hundred excuses but you can bet that assaults on women are never their fault. And they call us evil and immoral. What a joke!

Posted by: Susanp [TypeKey Profile Page] at April 24, 2005 10:21 PM

This is almost funny. Every Aussie woman I know, including myself, has been subjected to unwanted attention from Men of Middle Eastern Appearance (Aussie PCspeak for 'Muslims').

And it matters very little what one happens to be wearing. Blonde or red hair, pale skin and long legs are irresistible to these freaks. This nonsense is simply an excuse for their lack of control. I wonder if even they believe it themselves, but it pays for them to pretend to believe it.

This attitude was on public display during the recent rape trials (gang rape of Australian teenage girls by gangs of Muslims) - the families of the rapists acted like angry baboons outside the courthouse, calling the female prosecutor a slut, claiming they had all been set up because the police hate Muslms (never mind about the DNA proof, evidence from the victims and mobile phone messages inviting their scummy friends to join in the rapes)

I guess its useful in one way - its a good thing to point at when one is asked why one doesnt like or trust Muslims.

Too bad someone didnt burn the town hall to the ground.

NEW SOUTH WALES ALERT

Dear readers in NSW:

This Sunday a petition was handed around my church in Rockdale, against the Victorian style religious defamation laws which might be implemented here in NSW! This Anzac Day how about commemorating our sacrifice of 1915 against Islamist Ottoman expansionism with a similar fight of our own. If we let this happen to Australia – what the hell did they die for? Our civil rights are under attack. Simply for quoting verses from the Koran, honest Aussie Christians were prosecuted in Victoria. Let’s fight this anti-Australian Islamic evil! The increasing size and influence of this hostile alien community is the biggest threat to our nation since the Japanese landed in Papua New Guinea. Is it not enough that Muslims are using our respected Australian passports to travel the world to plan terrorism? Is not enough that innocent Australians were blown to bits by Muslims in Bali? Are the gang rapes and gang related shootings in Sydney not enough? Is it not enough that Lakemba and Bankstown have become virtual no-go areas? So what now - we can’t even debate the nature of Islam? And in 20 years, what - Sharia law?
Stop this cynical ploy by the NSW Labor government to win votes from minorities, half of whom know next to nothing about Australia anyway.

I'm an advocate of female modesty myself, but my guess is that Faiz Muhammad and "clerics" like him have such poor self-control that if they saw a fifty-five year-old, gray-haired woman with a watermelon-on-sticks figure wearing shorts while weeding her garden, they'd go erect and ejaculate.

Posted by: Kepha [TypeKey Profile Page] at April 25, 2005 6:31 AM

Faiz Muhammed must watch Days of our Lives (I prefer 'The Bold and the Beautiful' personally) - otherwise how would he know about all the deceit, lying and cheating?

Some questions:

* Does he let his wife watch DOL?

* Did FM watch it once and make his decision based on one episode?

* Did he watch it on a daily basis in order to come to his decision? If so, for how long did he watch it?

* Does he still watch it, to check out if the lying and cheating is still happening?

* Does he watch any other soaps?

He should watch that Lebenese soap on Sydney SBS - cant recall the name - but there seems to be plenty of lying and cheating happening.

Posted by: DianaC [TypeKey Profile Page] at April 25, 2005 7:02 AM

This is the kind of nonsense that has become acceptable in Scandinavian countries. And now it is coming in such robust Anglo nations such as Australia.

Let me see now. We can also apply the same standards.

What would muslims say, if Australians beat any passing muslim on the excuse that muslim dress incites Australians to violence? I find the hijab very offensive, as it is a symbol of the oppresion of women. Would that give me excuse to violence on the muslim women? I think not.

Frankly, there will be no end this nonsense until muslim immigration is severely curtailed, and those muslims already here, encouraged to leave.

Posted by: DP111 [TypeKey Profile Page] at April 25, 2005 7:10 PM

A.G.Frederick III -- Your comments are often violent and threatening. This is not the outlet for those kind of comments.

James -- No woman should be raped or attacked because of her clothing. No woman should be raped or attacked because she walks to her car alone, at night. No woman should be blamed if she is attacked.

Does this mean no one should give advice on how to be safer? I tell my daughter no belly shirts and no makeup. She looks to be in her late teens, even though she is quite young. If you dress like a loose woman, you often get treated like one or worse. Should this happen? No. But it does. Many Christians tell their daughters to dress decently. This is for their own protection and self-respect. No Christian approves of raping women, no matter how the women are dressed, but that doesn't make Christians religious nuts if they want their daughters to hide their thongs and belly buttons.

We assume there are only two choices: honor killings for promiscuous daughters or getting them birth control pills at 15. I'd like to think there is sane ground somewhere between the two.

Posted by: former liberal WF [TypeKey Profile Page] at April 26, 2005 11:59 AM

This Faiz bloke, says these things because he can. On the other hand if a non muslim was to say anything about Islam, we would be in court, like what happenend in Melbourne.
This Faiz is a festering boil, inciting hate, and if we don't want to go the way of other countries, we need to have our say, and stand up for our way of life that this young country worked so hard to give us and others the freedom to live in peace, we are the tolerant one's, on the other hand they are not, they can be intolerant to our way of life, and attack our women and put blame onto them for the sick minds of Faiz and any other person weather it be Muslim or other, who cannot control his own filthy mind, and I think that is his problem he needs a chastity belt around his brain.
