A continuation of this thought-provoking essay from Wolfgang Bruno:
Historian Bat Ye'or fears that it may already be too late to save Europe from Islam, and that the continent will be transformed into Eurabia. Should this come to pass, Eurabia will either slowly decline into just another overpopulated Islamic failure, or it will be used as a staging ground for Islamic aggression against the rest of the infidel world. With Europe’s nuclear weapons and accumulated resources at disposal, Eurabia would be so dangerous that the Americans, the Israelis, the Indians, the Russians and maybe even the Chinese would be forced to crush it. According to this scenario, Islam will fall, but it will drag Europe down with it. This is not, however, the only possibility.Some Americans have a stereotypical view of Europeans as being appeasers. There is definitely an appeasement instinct in Europe, but it is first and foremost a continent of extremes, sometimes changing in rapid succession. The nations that only a few generations ago tried to impose their culture on large parts of the planet are now afraid of enforcing their cultural values even in their own lands. The ruthless nationalism of the past has been subdued and replaced with anemic multiculturalism and naïve pacifism. It won’t last. The pendulum will swing back. If it appears as if the mainstream authorities are incapable of taking action to stop the ongoing Islamic invasion of the continent, faith in the entire democratic system could break down. Europe right now has all the ingredients needed for the rise of something akin to a new Nazi movement. It is an extremely dangerous mix of suppressed nationalism, high unemployment and failed economies, democratic detachment and a widespread sense of being betrayed by the ruling elites. Tens of
millions of immigrants pour into Europe, changing the face of the continent forever without any real debate about the issue. People feel like strangers in their own cities, but are being silenced as "racists" if they object to this.There is a widespread feeling that Europe is descending into chaos, and that the governments are unwilling or incapable of stopping this. If this situation continues, some people will cry out for a Strong Man to “cleanse Europe of foreigners" and restore its honour and wounded pride. And He will step forward. There is never any shortage of self-proclaimed Strong Men once you call for them. By then, you won’t have a “Clash of Civilizations” in Europe, but rather a Clash of Fascisms: Euro-Fascism vs. Islamo-Fascism. Ayaan Hirsi Ali fears that if we don't take effective measures, now, ''the Netherlands could be torn between two extreme rights'': an Islamic one and a non-Islamic one.” She’s right. MP Geert Wilders in Holland has proposed a moratorium on all non-Western immigration to the Netherlands for some years. Perhaps that is an approach that should be adopted by other European nations, too. Major cities across the continent are now powder kegs of ethnic and religious tensions, built up after decades of failed immigration policies and an absence of a genuine debate. Common sense says that when you have a powder keg waiting to explode, adding even more powder is not the smartest thing to do.
How will the other Europeans and the Americans react if or when the first EU nation breaks down in civil war because of Muslim immigration? Will they sacrifice the non-Muslims out of fear of a widening conflict, bomb the infidels into submission and establish a de facto Muslim state in a vain attempt to save themselves? Some would argue that is what happened in the Balkans in the 1990s. The answer probably depends upon which nation breaks down first. If it turns out to be nuclear armed France, the reactions may be different from what it would be with Holland, Belgium or Sweden. If Jihadis get their hands on French nukes, they will then use these weapons as a nuclear umbrella with which to establish sharia in different parts of Europe. This cannot be allowed to happen.
Some would argue that this bleaker picture does not fit my prediction that Islam will not survive this century as a force of any significance. That’s not necessarily true. We should remain confident that in the battle of Islam against Humanity, civilization will eventually triumph. I will again postulate that Islam will have faded off the world stage by the end of this century, and that the process should be apparent by mid-century, or even before. Seen in a historical perspective, this is a fast demise for a religion that has existed for 1400 years. But it still means that the Islamic world will remain extremely volatile and unstable for decades or even generations to come. It is highly unlikely that there will be an Islamic Reformation. Islam does not have a natural separation between the temporal and the spiritual as Christianity does, nor the non-violent personal example of Jesus, nor the ethical teachings of the Bible. In the unlikely event that somebody should manage to reform Islam, this process will take time and probably be quite bloody. The Christian Reformation was hardly peaceful while it was going on. There is no reason to expect an Islamic Reformation to be, either.
The good news is that Islam is not capable of achieving the world dominance it desires. The bad news is that it may well be capable of achieving a world war. Perhaps Islam will not “go quietly into the night”, but push for a final, decisive confrontation. Islam has lived by the sword, and may die by it. We need to brace ourselves for decades of turbulence ahead. This is unavoidable by now, as the Islamic world will struggle, and probably fail, to come to terms with the modern world. We have to concentrate on trying to avoid that the new “Cold War” turns into a hot, cataclysmic world war. We can perhaps speed up the process, by translating a selection of the best Islam-critical literature available to major languages, spread them across the Internet and encourage downloading and free reprinting of the books to reach those without Internet connection. Other spending on Muslims should be avoided as much as possible. We cannot buy Muslim goodwill, even if we try. Economic aid to Muslims will be viewed as Jizya, the tributary tax non-Muslim dhimmis should pay as a sign of submission to Islamic rule.
Continued Muslim immigration will eventually lead to the demise of European democracy, either by the establishment of a Muslim-lead totalitarian entity, Eurabia, or disintegration of Europe, with different fascist groups competing for the spoils. The only way we can avoid this is by separation, by ending and reversing Muslim immigration. Muslim immigration is equivalent to playing Russian roulette with your own children. The worst case scenario is that the current trends continue unabated, triggering civil wars in several nations as the Muslim population reaches critical mass for an armed Jihad. A Balkanization of the continent would ensue. It may already be too late for the worst hit areas of Europe, but still not for the continent as whole. If we get an Islamic nuclear attack against an American city on top of this, events could spiral out of control. We still have a window of opportunity to prevent this from happening, but swift action needs to be taken as soon as possible. It is unclear whether our politicians have the foresight and the courage to do what is necessary to avoid the impending disaster. Time is sadly not on our side.

All I can say is wow. The clarity, the straighforwardness, the depth.... get the same feeling reading VDH essays but this is a class apart.
I will pray for Europe. And pray the jihadis lose big in the continent. There lies the best hope for humanity.

That's simple, Dennis. Europe is not doing anything to stop the invasion. In fact, European leaders are telling us to shape up and be good dhimmis. Almost one million illegals are getting their papers in Spain. All of Europe is pushing for Turkey to join the EU. Europe is becoming more Muslim every year and nothing can be done to stop it. I can only speak for the Dutch but it's safe to say our moment has passed. Fortuyn was killed, Wilders will be kicked off the political stage at some point. I'm sure Ayaan will move to the States someday. The Dutch welcome their Muslim overlords. The minority of naysayers will flee to the US or some other country. Like Bruno I can think of a scenario where the US will bomb the living crap out of the Dutch if they do revolt against the invaders. Or European 'blue helmets' will come in and take control of the country.

I spent the major part of my childhood in Germany. My parents were American, but I went to German schools and all my friends wwere German. This gives me a better understanding of the 'Old World'.
I think Bruno is right in his essay. Europe isn't simply going to roll over and let islam take over. However, Europe has experienced two cataclysmic world wars within 50 years of each other. This traumatic experience has seared the European soul. Nobody with any living memory of this experience wants anything to do with war any more.
However, Europeans will not allow their continent to become Eurabia. There is a long and bloody history bretween Europe and Islam. Islam invaded Europe in the 8th century AD, only tio be stopped in 753 at the Battle of Tours by Charles Martel. WHile the Spaniards finally managed to evict the muslims from the Iberian peninsula in 1492, Islam had already begun its second crusade against the West by conquering Constantinople in 1453. They went on to conquer Greece, Bulgaria, Rumania, Yugoslavia, Albania, part of Hungary, all the way to Vienna, where they were defeated in 1683. Europeans also remember that.
Bruno is right. There will come a point when enough Europeans will realize that the die is cast. They will need to take action. Probably they will turn to a nativist fascist strongman. A new 'Charles Martel'. There will be civil war across Europe as Islam resists any limitations upon its expansion.
Ironically, this struggle may well be the catalyst for the creation of the long-dreamed about European Union. It may well come into existence as a result of Europeans joining together to fight the islamic invasion.
It would be great if people could learn to live together in peace, regardless of culture or religion. This is the utopian vision of the Left. Unfortunately, this dream falls apart when it meets the dark realities of human nature.

A continued presence in Iraq (or for that matter Afghanistan, where Hamid Karzai has just announced he would like more, and mo' better, aid from -- guess who? Not Saudi Arabia. Not Kuwait or the U.A.E. Not any fellow members of the Organization of Islamic States. No, the United States of America) is getting in the way of re-uniting with, or at least supporting and promoting the forces within Europe that are willing and still able to resist islmamization, or that which continued islamization may cause to come into existence -- a counter-movement, also unpleasnat, of European fascists.
But a counter-fascism is not only deplorable in its own right, but likely in the long run to fail, or if it is to succeed, it will only be when things have come to such a pass that mass violence and destruction may take place. In France, where the existence, and persistence, of those opposed to further Muslim immgration is the clearly fascist and antisemitic Le Pen, many people withhold their support from him, quite understandably, but what is far worse, they do not speak out about these issues at all. There is no centrist, no liberal willing to fight against Islam, to demand an end to the crazed policy of state-supported mosques, to the desperate attempt at "integration" of the Muslim masses, to the continued attempts to placate despite the hijab-ban that is easily being worked around (with "fashionable scarves"), to the refusal to crack down hard on mass Muslim criminality (the recent attacks on the non-Muslim students during a Paris march against the proposed further dilution of academic standards).
Outright antisemites everywhere are of course the natural allies of Islam -- that is why antisemitism today is, as it was before and during World War II, not merely morally unaceptable, but now it is something graver still -- a security risk, and for all of those in the Western world. But fascism, even of the non-Hitlerian kind, is exactly what most repels in Islam, and it is only when enough intelligent people of the center, those who have begun to understand Islam as something other than a "religion," and one which divides the world uncompromisingly between Beleiver and Infidel, and requires that the dar al-Islam be expanded, whenever and wherever possible, at the expense of dar al-harb, that there will be a chance to head off the growth of native fascists as a response to the imported fascism of Islam.
It would help if people in the West would stop being so lazy, stop accepting every cliche about Islam that comes along that is designed to prevent thought. From "a tiny handful of extremists" to "it's just the Wahhabis" to "it is really a war within Islam" (no, in the main it is not, alas, a "war within Islam" except insofar as some Muslims in the West would like things to quiet down for their own perceived well-being, and out of ignorance, or deliberately, choose to mispresent Islam to Infidel audiences). Why do those whose duty it is to protect us, and to educate us, not do so?
It is not right. It is not just. It is not proper that through mere oversight and greed -- letting in millions of guest-workers (why were those guest-workers not taken from Sri Lanka, or Cambodia, or the Philippines, or India, from among the non-Muslims, instead of having those people forced to endure life as workers in the rich Arab countries? Why were Pakistanis allowed into England? Turks into Germany? North Africans into France? Did no one know what would be the inevitable result -- not possible, but inevitable? Is the Western world to collapse because the Western European rulers were criminally negligent about their immigration policy, and then allowed the pre-existing mental conditions of anti-Americanism and antisemitism to cause them to refuse to recognize the Jihad against Israel, and even to welcome the chance to throw Israel, in pieces, to the dogs, and to distance themselves from their American ally, that during two World Wars and the Cold War, had come to their rescue and was prepared to do again? And if the Europeans have behaved terribly, the Americans have behaved stupidly, with this sentimental idea that there is no problem with Islam, only with "some" of its adherents (and where, exactly, do those "bad" Muslims get their crazy ideas, anyway? Is it too much to ask that our rulers actually read, and understand, or at least have their aides read, and understand, the Qur'an, the Hadith, and the Sira? Is it too much to ask that Congress have hearings were Ibn Warraq and Ali Sina and Walid Shoebat and other defectors from Islam be allowed to testify? What are we all afraid of? That Prince Abdullah won't be happy? Or Mubarak? Or Mahmoud Abbas? What, exactly?

What IS going on in those smoke-filled rooms in Mexico, Canada, and the U.S?
Whatever it is, it is becoming increasingly apparent that we citizens will actively have to take the responsibility of upholding the principles embraced in the Constitution. The Minute Men, as currently constituted, are an example. It won't be easy; the actions of the MM have already been called "vigilantism," and their founder, a newspaper publisher and credentialed reporter, was refused admission to a meeting discussing the border problem because the folks at Homeland Security regarded him as a "security risk."
We had better educated ourselves well, people, because we're all we've got.

Wow! What an excellent essay.
Bruno hits the nail on the head. All the normal, functioning institutions in Europe are failing the people now. The institutions they have depended on, are crumbling before their eyes. They would naturally turn to someone, anyone, who claims to actually see the problem and who is willing to do something about it.
Fear puts people into denial. It makes people believe all the way from "it's not as bad as all that," clear to "keep your shoes and clothes together, because you'll need them when you come out of the shower."
Denial is our enemy as well.

Yes, it has already happened in the Balkans. The West was not ready to accept the fact that we were re-entering the Kulturkampf stage of history. The Serbs and Croats (yes the Croats were as brutal to Muslims as the Serbs) have never psychologically left the days of Ottoman domination so they were both ready to defend their particular corner of civilization.
The Balkan Wars will go down in history very much like the Spanish Civil War, i.e., the prelude to a wider conflict. The West came down on the wrong side, particularly in case of Kosovo. I suspect that within ten years Europeans will be saying nice things about Milosevic.

Two outrages:
1. Americans are taught very little about history, even their own. Thus they can not critically assess foreign policy.
2. Obviously we were misled as to the reasons for opposing the Serbs over the Muslim population. Long-term consequences were not taken into account. It seems that planners knew little about the history of that part of the world and next to nothing about Islam and the strife between Islam and Christianity in that part of the world. This isn't rocket science.

Thanks to the advancement of the internet I have to second that. Until about 1995 we were all reliant on the crap our national braodcasters were feeding us. This post mentioned something that I have written about extensively several months ago: multiculturalism, mass immigration and the dhimmitude of the European leadership will eventually force the ordinary European - which is a moderate by nature - to the radical fringes of the political spectrum. That is why it is so important to weed out the ridiculous PeeCee that has already infected so many Europeans.
As far-fetched as it may seem, Bruno is completely correct when he predicts future civil wars in Europe. The cultural, religious and to lesser extent the ethnic fabric of a population is what makes it more or less stable. Right after the end of WWII, Europe was desperately seeking manpower to rebuild the destroyed continent. It found that manpower in its former South American colonies, in sub-saharan Africa, in the Maghreb, in the Middle East and in Asia. Many of those immigrants adapted to the host countries, but some refused to integrate and be assimilated by it. The tragedy happened when the European leaderships went from wanting an multi-ethnic milk-shake (which could eventually be achieved) to a multicultural population whose only common "heritage" was newly implanted feeling that "diversity" was not only good, but the only solution. Diversity is good, but unfortunately multiculturalism's objective is the exact opposite. Add that to the cowardess of the political leadership and to the victimization of the Muslim minorities, and what you have is a recipe for disaster. That is why JihadWatch and FaithFreedom are so important. Wolfgang Bruno is correct and in one or two generations we may find Kosovos popping out in most of Europe - or America, for that matter.

First, what does it mean to say Islam won't "survive"? What does survive mean? Historically, no culture/civilization/religion has survived in the face of Islam except the Hindus (by sheer luck. British came and defeated the Muslims). Even this was a military victory only. Culturally nothing has even made a dent in the barbarity of Islam. To this day Muslims do what they were doing 1400 years ago.
The rights of women won't weaken Islam because women are not willing to die for their rights. Put simply, you will only get what someone gives to you or what you get for yourself by force. This is the reality of the world. Muslims aren't going to give any rights to women and women will never have the force to wrest their rights from men. The problem is that in this age of PC, it is illegal to say women differ from men. This is the most absurd thing on this planet and may ultimately do us all in. Muslims say it openly and have a role for the women and a lot of women seem to like it. They all want some tweaks here and there but by and large they seem to be ok with their situation. A women these days is made to feel inferior if she is a homemaker with 3 kids. Is this a good thing?
Even if the womens right were to damage Islam, it will take a long time and by that time Muslims would have multiplied to a point where to win or lose would be meaningless because the minority (us) woudl have lost critical mass. Take the case of Hindus in Bangladesh and Pakistan they are virtually extinct from their former numbers and these two countries are a little mellow due to their contact with hinduism which is actively being reversed by Saudi funded madrassas.
Fundamentally, the non-muslims give religions a wide leash but Islam is not a religion. If the KKK were to declare themselves to be a religion tomorrow, they will enjoy the same privileges of Islam. Our value system of allowing anything that calls itself a religion to flourish is flawed and we may not be able to correct it time.
To quote Will Durant in The Story of Civilization: Our Oriental Heritage, page 459: "The Islamic conquest of India is probably the bloodiest story in history. It is a discouraging tale, for its evident moral is that civilization is a precious good, whose delicate complex order and freedom can at any moment be overthrown by barbarians invading from without and multiplying from within."
The keywords are: "Multiplying from within"
You can't prevent this because you won't call Islam an enemy and ban its practice. This means that they will come to your country multiply and multiply fast. Out of this population, 10-15% will actually follow the teachings of Islam and bring about the demise of the non-believers.
It is just a matter of time. In fact we must start a website called deathwatch and plot the important events in the demise of Europe. It will be interesting...atleast until America is taken at which point the servers will be shutdown.

I agree with a lot of the above, but I dont share that much pessimism or paranoia. America is not going to fall to Islam. Europe might, but when that happens everyones guard will be up. America has lots of DC Watsons, who wont belly up and play dead. Most of the posters on this board wont either...None of these predictions are givens...planet x or some astroid might get us first...speaking of China getting involved, Nostradamas made predictions that during ww3, China would invade Europe, there would be great flashes of light, and ww3 would end in Iran...HMMMM

This essay is both encouraging and very frightening. I agree with swami, Islam will never conquer America but if we remain on our charted course, we'll be fighting a dual civil war with Mexicans and muslims some time in the near future.
The biggest threat of Islam in America is the obscene muslim birthrate. Then it's immigration, which should have been completely stopped after 9-11. We don't need any additional distractions right now; we have a few million potential lunatics already here and that's more than enough.

The U.S. and most West European Left and Center pols hate nationalism and any cultural ties to the West - religious, tribal, racial or historic. They seek to reduce Westerners to mindless consumers and citizens of a fanciful "global community".
The problem for Left-Liberal Western (U.S., Europe, Canada, Australia, New Zealand) leaders is that Islam will not allow believers to join the secularised global community... The new Western leaders emasculate Western populations but will not confront Islam. These Western corporate, political and academic "leaders" are as much the enemy of the West as Islamists.
It is questionable whether sufficient numbers of West/North Europeans will ever be sufficiently alarmed at the rise of Islam to join "reactionary" nationalist or "anti-immigrant" movements. European politicians undercut the ability to even discuss the threat by prohibiting speech relating to race and religion. I've lost count of the times that Jean Marie LePenn and Brigitte Bartdot have been fined for comments about muslim immigrants...
If one could make a rational but hard choice between a future as a "dhimmi" in an Islamic state or a citizen with limited rights in a European "police state", I suspect that the latter would be preferable to most non-muslim people.
It ironic but predictable that the European Left is most concerned about suppressing "right-wing extremism" rather than Islamic expansion. Following the defeat of Spain's conservative party in the wake of the Madrid train bombing, the new socialist government seems more concerned with reassuring muslims of Spain's good will and widening the floodgates of immigration.
The Spanish socialist government recently pulled down the last remaining public statue of General Franco in Madrid and are enthusiastically talking up a plan to convert the Franco-era "Valley of the Fallen" war memorial to present a view of the horrors of the fascist regime. Destroying all vestiges of a non-Leftist past ranks higher than any confrontation with Islamic terror...
