Over 75% of the Arabic-speaking people in the United States are not-Muslims. The whole movement of Arab nationalism was begun by a dhimmi Christian, Michel Aflaq, who ultimately converted to Islam, saying that "Arab nationalism is Islam." The Detroit Free Press, of course, being part of the American secular media establishment, has no idea of any of that, and is stunned to learn that some people would put their religion over their ethnicity. The Freep is wearing the same blinders as those learned analysts in the State Department and elsewhere who believe that the religious character of the global jihad is incidental to its actual causes and motivations, which are economic and political. "Developing An Identity: Faith matters for metro Arabs," From the Detroit Free Press, with thanks to EPG:
Inside a Detroit mosque Friday night, gaggles of teens shuffled into the main hall for soda and cake to celebrate the birthday of the prophet Muhammad. Most were U.S.-raised and of Arab descent; the Islamic headscarves on some women meshed comfortably with baggy football jerseys. They are, in many ways, the future of Arab America. But when asked how they primarily see themselves, most reply: Muslim or Muslim American.
"Islam is a priority for me," said Ali Fawaz, a 23-year-old Dearborn resident of Lebanese descent who helped organize the gathering at the Islamic Center of America. "It comes before my ethnicity. Islam unites me with people of different races, nationalities, different cultures."
The view is shared by a number of young Arab Americans across metro etroit who are choosing to identify themselves mainly by their religion. It's a view that reflects changes in both the United States and the Middle East, where Islam holds greater sway over younger generations. Still, the Arab-American identity remains strong in metro Detroit, and for many, the idea of being Arab, Muslim and American coexist in an image cobbled together by diverse experiences.
The opening of the Arab American National Museum today will be a striking symbol of how much the idea of being an Arab American has developed. There are numerous Arab-American business associations, political outfits, and even a nurses group. But the notion of being an Arab American is a relatively new concept. And now, it's overlapping with the pull of Islam.
Part of the museum deals with religion, noting that Judaism, Christianity, and Islam originated in what is today the Arab world. The contributions of Christian priests of Arab descent are also duly noted. But the first floor emphasizes how closely linked Islam and Arabs are. Today, that relationship still exists, with many Arab Americans now embracing their Islamic beliefs.
"They see themselves as American Muslims," said Imam Hassan Qazwini, head of the Islamic Center, which plans to open a new mosque in Dearborn next week. "I think the new generation doesn't care as much about ethnicity."...

There you go:
First generation sort of 'put's up with "kufirs"- second generation wants to fight the Jihad.. ...
Havoc: You are right: No mosques, no Islam, no hate-preachers, no 'honour-killings'- no fear & intimidation for the rest of us who have been severely tested by the infil-'traitors'...
out they go, half price today, f.o.c. tomorrow, garbage of history after that...

There is nothing wrong with having faith in God.
I wouldn't want to see millions of folks rounded up, detained, deported, interned, etc., because they believe in God, a Higher Power, a Higher Authority.
What I would like to see, is free choice in islamic countries. If given the choice of leaving the bonds of islam came without fear of retribution, without fear of death, without fear of any kind, I would bet you dollars to donuts that the so-called 'religion of peace' would dry up and disappear, and 1.2 billion human beings would be free. The islamic imams and islamic clerics would be hung by their necks for purposely enslaving millions of innocent people, and they would be hung by the muslims themselves, if muslims truly had a choice. I will always believe this.
It is the Hadiths and the Sira that drive men to madness. Not belief in God. muslims Need to know that there are millions of Christians and Jews and Buddhists and Zorostrains, and others that pray for your release from your bonds. Come just as you are.... you will be accepted. The war on terror is not a war on islam... we are working to free you from your bonds so that your children and our children will know peace.
P.S. Please stop calling non-muslims the sons of monkeys and pigs.. that's SO insulting!
Peace

"Islam is a priority for me," said Ali Fawaz, a 23-year-old Dearborn resident of Lebanese descent who helped organize the gathering at the Islamic Center of America. "It comes before my ethnicity. Islam unites me with people of different races, nationalities, different cultures."
---from the article above.
But of course. For a Muslim, loyalty is expected to be shown only to fellow Muslims, to the Community of Believes, the umma al-islamiyya. Ali Fawaz mentioned only "ethnicity" -- i.e., Arabness. He did not mention being an American, or a resident of a particular nation-state. It would never have occurred to him. It does occur, of course, to more aware, and cunning, Muslim spokesmen. They like to say such things as "we are here, and we are here to stay." That remark is taken as some kind of expression of loyalty by some non-Muslims. What it is, in fact, is something quite different -- an expression of menacing resolve, to remain whatever the non-Muslims think of Islam, or however aware those non-Muslims become of the security and civilizational dangers posed by Muslims, or however resentful those non-Muslims may become of the constant efforts by ortganized groups of Msulims to make demands for changes in the political and social arrangements that all others, however seemingly alien or exotic to the Western, and American system, have managed to adjust to without making similar demands.
But there is one other thing to note. At the same time as loyalty to Islam is the only loyalty that counts, some Muslim strategists have cleverly been promoting the idea of an "Arab-American" identity precisely in order to take advantage of the goodwill, and naivete, both of Lebanese-Americans, who make up about 80% of those "Arab-Americnas," and of those non-Muslims who do not realize that the achievements of Lebanese Chrisetians, and the ease with which they have fit into American society, and may be fooled into believing that the "Arab-American" identity is an assurance, or guarantee, that Muslim Arabs will do the same.
Indeed, "Palestinians" -- whose Christian population is quite different from that of the Lebanese Maronites. Those Maronites do not feel themselves to be Arabs at all, quite rightly, but rather Christians who, through the conquest of much of the MIddle East, were forcibly arabized, given Arabic names, and forced to become users of Arabic -- which, in Arab terms, made them Arabs even if they resolutely were not. A brilliant study of this very matter has been written by Dr. Franck Salameh, and his doctoral thesis, once it is published, should be widely read and understood for the acute analysis of linguistic arabization that naturally accompanied islamization, or Islamic conquest even where some peoples resisted islamization (as the Maronites, in the mountains of northern Mesopotamia, managed to do).
"Palestinian" Christians have been among those most ready to support and promote the Islamic Jihad against Israel. Many have done this out of internalized dhimmitude. Think of the deplorable Hanan Ashrawi or the cunning Naim Ateek (who continually makes the rounds of Christian meetings in the United States, and along with a certain "Palestinian" Presbyterian minister in Atlanta, has been instrumental in pushing the "Palestinian" islamochristian line -- when it is a Christian convert from the "Palestinian" ranks, Walid Shoebat, who ought by rights be listened to by Christian groups. Think of Hilarion Cappucci, the Melkite bishop who stole icons from the churches of Jerusalem, in order to pay for weapons for the PLO -- and was caught by the Israelis, and then confined to the Vatican, but is again up to his propagadnaistic tricks -- less Christian than Muslim, he nevertheless finds the clerical garb useful. Clothes maketh the man, and his Christianity is in fact nonexistent -- he is simply a Muslim propagandist who happened to be raised as a Melkite. And then there is the Greek Orthodox "Palestinian" who aided the PLO gunmen take over the Church of the Nativity.
The "Arab-American" identity project is simply an attempt by more clever Muslims to use the Lebanese presence in this country to cover their own tracks, and to fit in. Look, for example, at a certain "Palestinian poetess" named Nathalie Handal, who somehow was hired by Columbia (wonder who wrote her references) last year to give a course in the "Arab-Ameridcan Identity." Read about that proposed course -- and its obvious political message, its attempt to enroll in the Muslim (and "Palestinian") struggle the descendants of those who left present-day Lebanon and Syria precisely to escape the growing persecution and even massacres of Christians (of the Maronites, for example, in Damascus in 1860) by the surrounding Muslims.
The "Arab-American Identity" does not exist. There are Muslim Arabs. They manage, where they can, to exploit Christian Arabs, to make them think that the Jihad against Israel (or against the rest of the Infidel West) is something that even Christians, whether they are Arabic-using non-Arabs (i.e., Maronites, and Copts, in particular) or people who, out of mental laziness or misunderstanding, accept the Muslim Arab-imposed defeinition of an Arab as someone who uses Arabic, or has an Arab name (which siimply reflects linguistic imperialism), and in thinking of themselves as "Arabs" end up, through some kind of ethnic pride in a false "Arabness" that necessarily involves defensiveness about Islam (the supposed gift of the "Arabs" to civilization), find themselves, quite wrongly, identifying with Muslim Arab causes.
Imagine, if you will, some grandchildren of Nazis who came to this country, not only unrepentant, but sharing their grandparents' views. And suppose further that those German-speaking descendants of Nazis, holding those views, were to try to use the descendants of those who had fled Nazi Germany, to enroll them in some kind of common "German-American Bund." It would be a temporary alliance, made only to prevent critical scrutiny of those descendants of Nazis who shared their grandparents' inculcated views.
But isn't that a rough analogy to the transparent attempt by Muslim Arabs, recent arrivals all, to enroll the descendants of those very Christians in the Middle East who had withstood, for centuries, the Muslim assault, in an effort to increase "Muslim" -- disguised as "Arab-American" -- political power, for the sake of Islam in this country. Those Christian groups that remained most cohesive and self-conscious -- chiefly, but not only the Maronites in Lebanon, the Copts in Egypt, the Chaldeans in Iraq -- realize that not only do they have nothing in common with Muslim Arabs save for a shared linguistic memory (for them, a linguistic imposition that came with the Muslim conquerors, and caused many of them to forget their own languages and other elements of their pre-Islamic, or non-Islamic, identities), but in fact should the forces of Islam in this country -- the very thing that caused their ancestors in many cases to flee the Middle East, for America, Canada, Australia, France -- become more powerful through a cynical and ahistorical manipulation of a made-up "shared Arab-American identity" -- this would only damage the non-Muslim "Arabs." Except for those "islamochristian" Arabs -- chiefly "Palestinians," who continue in this coutnry to parrot the Muslim line on the disguised Jihad agianst Israel, and on American foreign policy generally, the Christian "Arabs" (or Arabic-using non-Arabs from the Middle East) have adjusted well to American society. And why not? If you do not embrace the sharia, if your loyalty is not to the umma al-islamiyya, if your agenda is not that of the Islamintern International, then you could well become, like Salmon Rizk in his touching memoir, a "Syrian Yankee." [Many of the Christians who arrived from the areas of present-day Lebanon and Syria had "Turk" or "Syrian" written in their passports, during and even after the Ottoman period]. The Muslims are a different matter. They do not believe in pluralism, but in the supreamcy of Islam -- though in this country, for obvious reasons, they are willing to exploit our pluralism to protect themselves. The real test of Muslim belief is what Muslims have done everywhere they dominate -- and nowhere does one find anything like Western or American pluralism.
The attempt by Muslim and islamochristian Arabs to create a false alliance, one really based on cunning and cynical exploitation of those who may have forgotten, or perhaps never quite understood, why their own Christian ancestors fled the Muslim-dominated Middle East in the first place, is one more example of how Islam operates. Muslims remain true to Muhammad. And he said that "war is deception." Above all else, for Muslims, ever since their military superiority ended, "war is deception."
Ali Fawaz did not learn the lesson well enough. He is, after all, only a "23-year old resident of Dearborn, Michigan." But he will learn. After all, all those prominent Muslims who stood tearfully at Interfaith Services after 9/11, and subsequently have been rounded up for connections to terrorism were young, and naive, once too -- and actualy said what they think. But they learned. Ali Fawaz has time to learn, too.

Look for a future mass exodus of other ethnic groups, of all colors and faiths, about 20 years down the road. The city and closest suburbs will be muslim, and those still willing to work in the city will be in the far suburbs and rural communities.
And please, no ham sandwiches in the box lunch.

Arab muslims who preach and scream about colonialism are in fact the biggest colonialists- wiping out the history, language and culture of other Christian and Jewish groups in the Middle East!!!!
I feel that we're preaching to the converted here, anyone interested in starting a media outreach through books, movies and cultural awareness programs?

"Arabs" are indeed pushing to "Arabize" the world. By "Arabize" do we mean "Islamize?" Check out this site entitled the Arab Identity Project. Perhaps "Arabs" don't know who they are or the make up of their own culture???? Cunning, indeed, to Quote Hugh above.

Asalaamu alaikum,
I do not think it is the mission of the Arab-Americans to "islamize" the West. No...It is the mission of the entire Muslim Community.
As an American convert to Islam I appauled this. im not an apologetic. Islam DOES say homosexauls should be put to death. As it should be. In this beloved country of my birth sodomites are allowed to parade up the streets before our children. Omar ibn Khattaub had them thrown off roofs. Do that with 25% of the population of San Francisco off some of those nice, high rises and this country wil be a better place.
Islam says that Christians and jews are to be protected, but made to pay a tax for putting up with them in our lands, and pagan heathens should convert or die. As it should be. They are an affront to Allah, and their crimes against muslims in Kashmir proves their depravity.
Islam says that both men and women are to dress modestly. As it should be. Our country is in a moral chaos.A place of rampant crime, perversion and hedonism that make sodom and Gommorah look like heaven.Rich abuse and exploit the poor(republicans)and the bleeding hearts (liberals and Democrats) protect the criminals and perverts. Our children idolize half-naked video whores and singing "divas" American Idol is a fitting if ironic title. That is what the Americans yout worship now, not God. Their was a time in this country where indecency and porography was outlawed and socially ostracised in this country. Now it is the ideal.Lesbian-based male bashing feminists scream about a head scarfs as signs of oppression and female abuse while they lift hands in reverence to a naked woman-child like Brittany Spears while she shakes her ass to drooling men on-stage before millions?!! And one wonders why teen preganancy and rape is on the rise.
Islam calls for strict laws; if you kill you are to be killed, if you steal you will have your hand chopped off. As it should be. Implement that and you will lose the gang violence, theft and murder rates in this country. Now a "thug' or "gangsta" is a ideal our youth aim for and glamourize. And we are baffled when a sporting event or rock concert turns violent in the crowds?! Once we hung horse theives and murderers in this country. Bring back that frontier law and this country will be a more orderly, peaceful place to live.
Islam outlaws alcohol and whips its offenders. As it should be. Alcohol is the leading cause of traffic fatalities,an acknowledged factor in date-rape, murder, and domestic violence in this country to an epidemic purportion. Yet it is glamourized by its sellers on tv and in the musical media. How many innocent childen would be alive if this islamic law had been in place?
Islam forbids interest. As it should be. In America now all of its population are in a loop of credit card and interst debt that has become unavoidable in our grred-driven narcissistc culture. One cannot buy a car, house, or even plly to many jobs now without a credit rating. it is a choke-hold on the throats of the poor and middle class that only profits big business and politicians of the upper class. This alone, and our adverising to use up resources, will be the eventual ruin of our nation.
We need some "absolutism" in America! This is Gods Law and opinion, stated both in Jewish and Islamic Law. This is what muslims revere, not the works of "enlightened thinkers" of the West. That is man-made, not divine. And it doesnt matter if you like it or not, or if it meets with your "western sensibilites"God is not Burger king- you cant have it your way , only HIS way!
America needs Islam. And its going to get it.We convert your kufir numbers everyday. We have doubled our numbers in the last ten years, and that wil triple with the next generation. We convert 20,000 Americans per year. 8 out of 10 are women, who will have muslim children (or even if they leave Islam, they will have children that are muslim influenced)We were 700 millon in 1990, now we are 1.3 billion... and growing.Even by Christian census, by 2025 Islam will be the dominate religion of this planet. Finally surpassing the Paulian bloodcult of the pagan church.Praise be to Allah!Already we call prayer over loudspeakers in your major cities, and mosques are popping up in even the smallest towns in the heartland of America. We are your neighbors, you doctors, your store owners, engineers, school teachers and secretaries. Our children go to school with your children. The names Mohammed and Abdulllah are becoming as common on a school roster as Brendan or Michael. We are muslims, we are here, and we are getting larger by the day. And theres NOTHING you Dubbiya worshipping Reaganites can do about it. We are protected in this country by the second amendment and the Civil Rights Act of 1964 (Which muslims admire). Harass us, we sue, harm us, you go to jail, burn down our mosques, we rebuild (usually with donated money from your own church groups)and you go to prison. All the while we build sympathy and make more and more converts. So embrace Islam for your own salvation...because your grandchildren probably will.
Peace be with you,
Tameem

Tameem seems to be afraid to take her taqiyya over to JW and play with the big boys.
I'd love to see her get - uh, "handled" - over at LGF.

There has been some speculation on the origins of the name of our new poster, Tampax, sorry Tameem. It is the name of several places, and the name of an ancient tribe.
It's an anagram of Tame me. Or Etam me (Etam is a chain of teenage dress shops in the UK, perhaps he has an account?) or Meet Ma. (Oedipus? Norman Bates?)
The Muslim baby name book says it means "complete, perfect" Well Mary Poppins he ain't.
