"US panel wants Pakistan blacklisted for ‘violating’ religious freedom," from AFP, with thanks to Nicolei:
WASHINGTON: A US Congress-mandated commission advised the government on Wednesday to blacklist Pakistan, Turkmenistan and Uzbekistan for alleged violation of religious freedom and beliefs....
What's that? Uzbekistan? That bastion of Islamic moderation?
The State Department annually blacklists countries for alleged religious freedom violations based on recommendations from the commission, whose 10 members are jointly appointed by President George W. Bush and Congress.Last year, the department added Eritrea, Saudi Arabia and Vietnam to the blacklist, which already included China, Iran, Myanmar, North Korea and Sudan.

Given the 17th century expulsion of all Jews from the Hejaz, and everything since, I'd say KAS deserves permanent membership.

I want them blacklisted for allowing UBL to stay in their country, obscured from the all the agents looking for him. I know they are scared to turn him over, just as I would be scared to een consider taking the $25 mil reward money, but they are two-facing the US and its' coalition. He is in Pakistan, not anywhere remotely where they think he is and the Paki's know it. Money, reward money, means nothing to them. Haven't you heard: they have honor and dignity to defend! 4 months after the guy who helped hide Hussein's 2 sons received his $40 mil, he was killed. I say the reward money is not an incentive to Americans, (or our bounty hunters would be looking, too) and it's surely not an incentive to them.
