"Islamic world blasted for protesting Quran 'story,' silence on Jewish incidents," from WND, with thanks to Nicolei:
JERUSALEM – With Muslims worldwide protesting a now-retracted Newsweek report that claimed U.S. Army interrogators at Guantanamo Bay had flushed a Quran down the toilet, the father of a rabbi who was murdered while trying to defend a Jewish holy site from Palestinian rioters blasted Muslim leaders yesterday in an exclusive WorldNetDaily interview.Rabbi Zevulun Lieberman, whose son Hillel died trying to save Joseph's Tomb in the West Bank city of Nablus from Muslim rioters, told WND he is "sickened by this Muslim outcry when Muslims have shown the world they don't have any respect for religion whatsoever. They lost the right to protest about disrespect for religion and holy objects a long time ago."
Accusing Muslim leadership of using the Newsweek story to create "anti-American incitement," Lieberman asked, "Where were the protesters when Muslims desecrated Joseph's Tomb and other sites?"
Where indeed? There are countless other such incidents.

There are so many examples of this. Already on other threads it has been pointed out how Muslims desecrated churches wherever the Ottoman army went, and in India the desecration of Hindu temples was widepread.
Lets not forget the Bhamiyan Buddha's too.

And the desecration of the Church of the Nativity, and the burning of 80 Christian Churches in Kosovo under the watchful eyes of the UN, and the attacks against Churches and Christians in Egypt, Lebanon, Pakistan, India, Phillipines, and the toppling of Buddhist statues in Afghanistan by the Taliban and.....

...and the desecration of a synagogue and several Torah scrolls using human excrement in Montral only a couple of years ago, and...
I am so bitterly disappointed in the "conservative" media, they hae all dropped the ball on this one. 'Dhimmi of the year' awards to them all, for even hinting that the resultant deaths can be understood on any level. When a Torah is destroyed, the congregation sits in mourning- we don't murder people.

I guess this is preaching to the converted but here is an excerpt regarding the Palestinian occupation of the Church of the Nativity:
"On April 24, the Jerusalem Post reported on the damage that the PA forces were causing:
Three Armenian monks, who had been held hostage by the Palestinian gunmen inside Bethlehem's Church of the Nativity, managed to flee the church area via a side gate yesterday morning. They immediately thanked the soldiers for rescuing them.
They told army officers the gunmen had stolen gold and other property, including crucifixes and prayer books, and had caused damage....
One of the monks, Narkiss Korasian, later told reporters: "They stole everything, they opened the doors one by one and stole everything....They stole our prayer books and four crosses...they didn't leave anything. Thank you for your help, we will never forget it."
Israeli officials said the monks said the gunmen had also begun beating and attacking clergymen."
"The Palestinian gunmen holed up in the Church of the Nativity seized church stockpiles of food and "ate like greedy monsters" until the food ran out, while more than 150 civilians went hungry. They also guzzled beer, wine, and Johnnie Walker scotch that they found in priests' quarters, undeterred by the Islamic ban on drinking alcohol. The indulgence lasted for about two weeks into the 39-day siege, when the food and drink ran out, according to an account by four Greek Orthodox priests who were trapped inside for the entire ordeal....
The Orthodox priests and a number of civilians have said the gunmen created a regime of fear.
Even in the Roman Catholic areas of the complex there was evidence of disregard for religious norms. Catholic priests said that some Bibles were torn up for toilet paper, and many valuable sacramental objects were removed. "Palestinians took candelabra, icons and anything that looked like gold," said a Franciscan, the Rev. Nicholas Marquez from Mexico."

I've copied the article to throw back in any dhimmis face who argues about Islamic tolerance for "people of the book" - not that this excuses Muslim's behaviour towards other religions. Islam is a cult - simple and plain.

For Muslims to destroy infidel objects is 'holy'.
For infidels to damage anything Islamically sacrosanct is 'desecration'.
Why anyone in the West expects these Islamic triumphalist global theocratic despots to behave in any other way is fatal naivete on the part in of those in the West.
Everything but Koranically-approved religious items are crap.
Get used to it.

I love Hulegu Khan's idea posted May 16, 2005 08:58 AM
"I warned them. They have just 13 hours to comply or the flushing will begin. Unlike the Newsleak fiction, this is no joke. I am serious. This is real. I will flush. Allah will punish them for not preventing this crime of the century. What's it gonna be? Flush? Not flush?"
I think there should be a FLUSH website to motivate a FLUSH
movement: Stop the jihad or risk mass FLUSHINGS!!!!

Don't forget that ancient tombstones were removed in Jerusalem and used as latrines. These tombstones were older than the vile religion that desecrated them.

One of the important aspects of copyright law is that the content of the work is protected, not the physical medium on which the content is fixed. I can sell you my physical Elvis CD collection, but if I turn the songs into MP3s and give you a copy, the Federal Government, the ghost of the King, and Lisa Marie will have some words for me for infringing the King's work.
That being said, how does this apply to the Koran? If I find an online version in Arabic, print it on 8.5x11 sheets, and subsequently put it in the office recycle bin, have I incurred the death penalty in Pakistan?
If I take the online Arabic version, save it to my computer as an electronic file, but subsequently wipe the hard drive, thus deleting the file, have I incurred the death penalty in Pakistan?
What if I take this electronic file and put it on Kazaa and somebody else downloads and then deletes it? How am I to be punished?
As we all know God doesn't use English (I guess Newton and Copernicus were wrong to think He used mathematical laws too), I assume that the translations we see in Borders aren't worthy of the same degree of protection as those written in Arabic. But what about Arabic versions that use some type of Latin script instead of an Arabic script? It's still in Arabic - does God only think in Arabic script?
These questions are really nagging me. Wish the jihadiots would try to update to at least the 10th century equivalent of copyright law.

Embassies told to spread Koran tolerance message
From staff and wire reports
WASHINGTON — The State Department, moving to react to damage it says was caused by a Newsweek magazine article alleging U.S. desecration of the Koran, is ordering its embassies to spread the word abroad that America respects all religious faiths.

THERE WILL BE NO RESISTANCE TO ISLAM
GET A PRAYER RUG.

There are indeed many instances of this sort of behavior on the part of muslims.
Unfortunately, though it pains me greatly to say it, such tu quoque rejoinders won't solve anything.

Well, as for the desecration by Muslims, God is capable of wreaking vengeance. There have been loud squawks by engineers in Israel about dangerous-looking bulges under the al-Aksa mosque due to the PA using heavy equipment in working on a platform not designed to support such things. We might just see the southern end of the Temple Mount platform crumble out from under some cleric just as he screams "Kill the JOOOOZ!"
