N.C. church stands by sign saying Quran "should be flushed"

From the North Carolina News & Observer, with thanks to disillusioned german.

CHARLOTTE, N.C. - The pastor of a small Baptist church has refused calls to take down a sign posted in front of his church reading "The Koran needs to be flushed," saying Tuesday he has nothing to apologize for.

"My creed is the Bible, which tells me I am supposed to stand up and defend my faith," said the Rev. Creighton Lovelace, pastor of the 55-member Danieltown Baptist Church in Forest City. "I don't hate Muslims, I just hate their false doctrines."

But the Council on American-Islamic Relations, based in Washington, D.C., called on Americans of all faiths to demand the message displayed outside the church be removed.

"Christians often ask themselves, 'What would Jesus do?'" said the group's spokesman, Ibrahim Hooper. "I don't think Jesus, who is loved by Muslims and mentioned frequently in the Quran, would use such hate-filled and divisive rhetoric."...

Lovelace said he knew before he put up the sign that some people would disagree with its message.

"I expected some people would be offended, just as if someone put up a sign that said the Bible should be flushed," he said. "That would offend me as a Christian.

"This is America and we have the freedom of the press, so I have the right to put up this sign."...

Lovelace said he does not believe he is being intolerant.

"We are all told to be tolerant," he said. "You can be tolerant of other people, but that doesn't mean you have to accept anything that teaches against what is in the Bible."

I hope the Pastor is very careful, there will be some that will try to harm him. The ROP has a track record of killing those who cross them.

He has every right to do so. I wonder when his church goes up in flames, Power to this man! We need more like him!

In Amsterdam when Van Gogh was killed somebody put up a sign saying "Thu shalt not kill". This sign had to be taken down because it was "offensive to Muslims".

In view of this outrage I shall also remind you that fat cat 'Saudi prince Turki' is on record calling 9/11 a 'travesty'- I can't get over that. And then you see Bush kissing and holding hands with these bastards, and Condi on camera with "holy, holy Koran"- The mind boggles!

Time for a shakedown!

It's called freedom of speech, Hooper, you twit. There's not a thing CAIR or anyone else can do about it.

It isnt rhetoric, it's truth.

Yes!!!!

Way to go!
If every community in the country rise up and say NO MORE to this bloody ideology in our land, hopefully the muslims won't feel welcome anymore, and pack up and leave on their own. Self deportation. The simplest solution so far.

This American demands that the sign stays up.

CAIR is infiltrating the National Guard.....But somehow, I don't think that our boys will hesitate to shoot "insurgents" because of CAIR's little pig and donnkey show.

I encourage each of you to write an email or a letter to the writer and/or publishers of this article and educate the writer and/or publishers on Islam-ie. how Islam treats women. Include direct quotes from the unholy Qur'an.

This is an opportunity to inform the MSM press about the true nature of Islam. Don't miss it!

"Love the sinner hate the sin."

Not something a Muslim said, but apt.

Hang tough, preacher man.

I'm flushed with pride.

C.A.I.R. will dispatch some thugs to destroy the sign and probably the preacher and his church as well. Wouldn't surprise me to hear that the church burned to the ground. Maybe muslims will stage a protest rally on Sunday to disrupt church services.

He's a brave soul and I support him, but he should be very careful. Although Rep. Conyers and his colleagues believe that all religions are equal, even one that mandates domination and whose loyal followers publicly announce their intention to abolish the Constitution, Islam is a death cult from Hell and muslims are capable of anything.

It would be great if they all packed up their goats and their enormous families and returned to their homelands, where their loyalties remain. Contrary to Rep.Conyer's resolution, muslims have contributed nothing to this country but continuous griping, whining, and complaining; lawsuits; threats; terrorists; radical students parading their political agendas in our universities; welfare and medicare fraud; and the filthy, inimical doctrine of a vile and ersatz religion. Nobody would miss the first one of them if they all disappeared tomorrow, but the relief would be overwhelming.

I hope this resolution is not passed but I have a feeling it will be. Deference to Islam has become all the rage these days, especially in Washington. Go ahead ladies and gentlemen, grovel to the enemies a little more, show them how fair and sincere you are. In the meantime, they'll continue to stab us all in the backs every chance they get, both here and abroad.

"Christians often ask themselves, 'What would Jesus do?'" said the group's spokesman, Ibrahim Hooper. "I don't think Jesus, who is loved by Muslims and mentioned frequently in the Quran, would use such hate-filled and divisive rhetoric."...

I guess what Hooper's trying to say is that we're supposed to just turn the other cheek and not fight back, no matter what. How convenient for a Muslim to bring up Jesus, and his "do unto others" philosophy. Makes us all perfect little victims, easily killed or subjugated.

Problem is, they didn't have those feral Mohammedans during Jesus' day. What would he have said? Just turn the other cheek, even if these psychopaths lop off your heads, rape your wives and daughters and enslave the rest of your family? No, I'd think he'd want us to use our brains and stand up for what we believe and protect our loved ones, even if it meant acting a little unChristianlike. But then, I'm not a Christian. Maybe others can enlighten me.

Call the pastor and express your support:

I detect the work of a tireless campaigner here, one who sent out leaflets, bumperstickers, and works of public education to the people of the South.

It might well take a thousand leaflets to get through to one man with one church in one small town in one small state, but then it reaches the world because one person tried to make a difference and then one person paid attention.

The more leaflets go out, the greater are the chances that another person will stand beside the first, and in time we will indeed have a crowd in some small town in some small state, and that will start the presses rolling across the nation and across the world. Then Hooper and his terrorist friends can file all the writs they like--from prison.

I don't think it's any accident that a church in the South is the place where we see the first real shot fired at Islam in America. I think when the pages of our history are revealed we'll see a heroine of great stature show up as our Betsy Ross, the lady who stitched Liberty for the land of the free.

I think the above link will alow you to write a letter to the editor of the paper in support of Rev. Creighton Lovelace.

With any luck he will be the first of thousands of ministers to post such public signs. Any harm that comes to him or to his community will simply create martyrs for our cause. Tough work, but somebody's got to do it, and I recall that Christians are ready for that kind of thing.

I'm not deeply religious myself, but I do feel the call these days.

If the link above doesn't work, go to the link for the paper and look for the "letters to the editor" link which will give you 250 words worth of opinion to express.

What should I do for my summer vacation...?

"Christians often ask themselves, 'What would Jesus do?'" said the group's spokesman, Ibrahim Hooper. "I don't think Jesus, who is loved by Muslims and mentioned frequently in the Quran, would use such hate-filled and divisive rhetoric."...

Mr. Hooper stop lying to the people. Jesus is never mentioned in the qu'ran.
issa is not Jesus. issa did not die or the cross. Another man was made to resemble issa, and that man is who was on the cross. issa did not die for your sins. He did not conquer death and rise on the third day, giving proof of salvation, and eternal life for all who come to him. islam claims to honor all of the prophets while gutting their whole purpose.

Two thousand years before the Christ came a prophet saying a messiah will be sent, 1500 yrs BC came another, saying from you a child will be born, 600 years before Jesus yet another proclaimed Gods message of hope for all mankind.

Jesus brought no ingil, no book, no gospel, like your issa.
God did not lie to his children.

No, Mr. Hooper, Jesus was not a prophet.

HE IS THE FULFILLMENT OF PROPHECY!

He is the hope, the light, and the life. He is the Holy Ghost who dwells among us all even now. Even with you Mr. Hooper.

God needs and has sent no more "messengers", because he has never left us!

Your mohammed is a false prophet sent from satan to try to turn mens minds from this glorious truth.

"by their works you shall know them"

May God bless and keep you and lead you to the Light.

Feralee: "Problem is, they didn't have those feral Mohammedans during Jesus' day. What would he have said? Just turn the other cheek, even if these psychopaths lop off your heads, rape your wives and daughters and enslave the rest of your family?"

He would have said exactly the same things. But there are no 'Christian' reasons to stop rejecting Mohammed as a false prophet and the Quran as a worthless document because he was a false prophet.

No doubt this will be prosecuted as a "hate crime." Does someone monitor the sermons given in American Mosques? I wonder if those qualify as "hate crimes?" HMMMMM.

As for CAIR's packet of information provided to the Ohio National Guard, has anyone examined the information therein for accuracy: what was put and, more important, what was left out!

Check out CAIR-net.org. Notice the numerous programs given by the state-level branches. I ask the same question: What is left out of the "sensitivity training," of the town hall information, of the "exploring the Koran" program, and all the other "getting to know Islam" outreach programs that have gone before?

From "outreach" in previous centuries and in other parts of the world, Muslims have learned how to aggressively and relentlessly chip away at the sensibilities of the targeted groups.

The orthodox christian doctrine, I believe, is that Islam is a false, man-made religion. It represents "error". It is idolotry and certainly not tolerated and accepted according to the teachings of Jesus Christ. The fact that Christians and leaders of Christian churches place Islam on the same moral level as Christianity shows the widespread ignorance and heresy permeating Christianity today.

Contrary to the popular view held by many in society-- including journalists, Christianity does not preach tolerance. ("Lovelace said he does not believe he is being intolerant." opines the author of the article.) Intolerance of sin is at the core Christ's teachings. Christ himself manifested immense intolerance. For example, the ejection of the money lenders from the temple is quite memorable.

The minister actually said, "We are all told to be tolerant," he said. "You can be tolerant of other people, but that doesn't mean you have to accept anything that teaches against what is in the Bible." Precisely. One of the highest crimes in this "liberal" multiculturalist/diversity-obsessed society is "intolerance". So long as Muslims are able to manipulate the "intolerance" issue, critics of Islam will be at tremendous disadvantage.

Bravo for Rev. Lovelance. The First Amendment is a pill the fascists can't swallow.

Feralee - Jesus said turn the other cheek. He said nothing about not defending yourself from another strike. We can turn the other cheek and do all we can to defend ourselves from another strike. And if that means destroying Islam, so be it.

The southeastern United States is the world's last, greatest hope for the survival of liberty and reason as a way of life, hence The South will soon rise to be the leader in the fight against Islam.

Posted by: vashine [TypeKey Profile Page] at May 25, 2005 9:51 AM

"What would Jesus do?"

Jesus died to provide an eternal example of what the murderously intolerant do to those who do not put up any resistence.

One example is good enough for me.

Now it is time to ask:

"What would Charles Martel do?"

(Christians gave up on 'exemplary suicide' and martyrdom en masse at the end of the Roman Empire, and haven't been bowing for savage despots and beheaders since those bloody days in the arena.)

The Sermon on the Mount is not a suicide pact, either.

Thanks to the 16th century Reformation, and the Grace of God, parts of Europe were able to break the shackles of one religious tyranny. It was only by a return to the Bible that we have been able to enjoy unprecedented liberty and freedom.

As a result of European cowardice for several decades, Islam has now been able to make major inroads there, and for the first time in history, Islam has been ‘invited’ to spread its militancy without its sword. It is a terrible mistake to regard Islam as a peaceful religion.

May God bless Rev. Lovelace for his courageous stand. In this age of unwarranted tolerance and widespread male wimpishness in America, we need more men like Luther, Jefferson, Spurgeon and Lovelace.

It is quite likely that this minister will face a lot of hostility from muslims, as well as the LLL press. So let us send emails supporting his brave stance.

Thanks to every body for their glorious support to the pastor in north carolina.
this proves to me and many people from other religions including the more friendly catholics,
that U.S. of A. is gradualy becoming an intolerant society in many parts of it excluding perhaps boston and San francisco and many other wonderful places in US of A.
free speech is a given gift to America and the free world, but it should'nt be used as an excuse to harm other people from other faiths, i hope that some people even at least one person have the right mentality and sanity to beleive in this.
