Moroccans, Turks rally against Dutch immigration plans

AMSTERDAM — Moroccan and Turkish groups in the Netherlands have set up a new action committee named "Genoeg is genoeg" (enough is enough) to organise a campaign against the Dutch government's tough immigration and integration policies.
The organisers are calling for a national demonstration on 17 September in Amsterdam. Two spokesmen for the new organisation outlined the plans for the demonstration during a press conference in the Moroccan capital of Rabat on Monday.

Dutch Immigration and Integration Minister Rita Verdonk arrived in Rabat for an official visit on Monday. She toured the Dutch embassy where modifications have been made to house the new integration tests that are to be introduced for would-be immigrants to the Netherlands.

While there was news on Monday that other European countries are interested in the immigration policies being pioneered by Verdonk, the spokesmen for the new action committee described her policies as discriminatory and racist...

One of those policies is to change the practice of retaining duel citizenship for THIRD generation Moroccan immigrants. Morocco is not cooperating. See Expatica here.

This is the world turned upsidedown. Immigrants are not supposed to create policy for countries into which they migrate. If they can't or won't integrate, expel them and refuse the entrance of others.

What steps, if any, does the U.S. Government take to prevent or reduce such problems within our own immigrant communities?

Of course they 'rally'. They always' rally'. I wonder if they do anything else but 'rally' It's just what we need, isn't it?

When they don't rally, they bomb trains, buses, kindergardens, Schools: It's the 'Religion of Peace' of course!

How was that again KT? 'Just another religion?' You must know something I don't know!

But perhaps I'm too concerned about the 'image' of Islam...

Why should Morocco have any say about it? Issues of dual citizenship don't have to be mutual between countries. If a country doesn't allow dual citizenship, it demands that its new citizens give up their old citizenship, and prove it, before they can get the new one. Some European countries do so; and it doesn't matter if the naturalized person's country of birth allows dual citizenship or not. It has no power over another country's immigration and integration policies. Are the Dutch asking for Morocco's "permission" to modify their own policies just to be nice to them?

I guess the ability to reason -at even that primitive level- is koraned out of them early and never returns.

Let them all go to Mecca and rotate.

As I mentioned in the other topic, Moroccons that went back to Morocco are still living off of the Dutch welfare system. At least 82 million euros every year are paid by the Dutch government to Moroccons living in Morocco. That doesn't include the Moroccons living off of welfare in the Netherlands itself. I don't even want to mention the Turks. The ones that get the money get three times the Morrocan minimum but still they are not 'comfortable'. A Moroccan social-democrat in Dutch parliament said that three things are holy in Morroco: Allah, the King and national identity. These are, according to her, not negiotable. I wonder if she feels like that too because if so why the hell is she working for the Dutch government? As far as I care they keep their Moroccan passport. As long as the Dutch government takes away their Dutch passport as soon as they commit a crime and sends them away, back to Morocco.Better yet, don't give them a Dutch passport at all. Makes it a lot easier to send them away.

I had a duel major- Psychology and RTF (radio television and film), for the former to give latter (my career goal) some existential weight.

Neuro-linguistic programming, etc. is fundamental to Islam. And the 'imprinting' mechanism that Lorenz noted. (Although I like Frankl's "Logotherapy" better.)

I say what I say to try to get behind the veil of flapdoodle that the apologists, left, right, middle, religious or unbelieving all tend towrd at times.

And hopefully with a twist.

("A Twist in My Sobriety" suddenly starts playing in my collective subconscious... although I can't recall the lady singer's name... some Freudian block...?)

Tanita T. indeed! Great song.

And a superb singer. (Her second album didn't match her first, and I haven't followed her since... but an amazing debut... she should bring out some of the great torch songs of the 30's and 40's... I found a stack 78 rpm's many moons ago when bookhunting -that I copied to cassette tape- including some early Dinah Shore hits, and they're classic melodies... which Tikeram's deeper tone would fit like a crushed velvet glove.)

Again, much obliged for musical kick in the cortex!
