The security chief for Nation of Islam leader Louis Farrakhan has been hired to provide sensitivity training for the NOPD. Captain Dennis Muhammad has conducted sensitivity training in other cities such as Buffalo and will be paid $15,000 for his services, which NOPD Chief Eddie Compass says are needed in New Orleans. Compass says there are people in New Orleans who have complained about police treatment and are “anti police.” Compass believes that the “members of the Nation of Islam have some type of relationship with these people.”However, what about those in the community and on the NOPD who are not members of the Nation of Islam? David Benelli of the Police Association of New Orleans says his phone has “been ringing off the hook” with members upset about the hiring of someone with ties to the Nation of Islam. The NOPD is 45% white, while the city is about 30% non-black, so there is a large number of people who might feel insulted by this decision. However, not only should whites be outraged about the selection of this Nation of Islam leader to conduct sensitivity training, but also all African-Americans in the community who are of the Catholic or Jewish faiths.
At the press conference announcing the training, a rabbi and priest expressed concern about Muhammad’s selection. Such concern is more than justified considering the history of Muhammad’s boss, Louis Farrakhan. Here are just a few of the Nation of Islam’s beliefs, as well as some of Farrakhan’s disturbing statements:
Whites are “blue eyed devils.”
Jews are “bloodsuckers”
“Hitler was a very great man.”
Jews controlled the slave trade and currently control the government
Nation of Islam founder Elijah Muhammad believed that whites were created by an evil Black scientist and that there will be “The Great Decisive Battle in the Sky” when a space ship will kill all white people by bombing the earth
Muhammad believed that white people should relocate to Europe and that racial integration was wrongIn addition, Farrakhan has met with dictators in Sudan, Libya and Iraq, before the war, and praised their governments while denouncing the United States. Leaders in the Nation of Islam have also made very inflammatory anti-Catholic statements. In a November 1993 speech at Kean College in New Jersey, Farrakhan’s chief spokesman Khallid Muhammad said, “T]he old no-good Pope-you know that cracker, somebody need to raise that dress up and see what´s really under there. Jesus was right; you´re nothing but liars. The book of Revelations is right; you´re from the Synagogue of Satan.”
Due to public outcry, the New Orleans Police Chief reversed himself and will conduct sensitivity training under other leadership. From WND, with thanks to wwrwtw.
...While Chief Eddie Compass initially announced the plan as he sat next to controversial Nation of Islam leader Louis Farrakhan, whose fiery sermons and pronouncements have been criticized as racist and anti-Semitic, the city's top cop is now distancing himself from the controversial leader.Compass argued the Nation of Islam's security chief, Capt. Now Compass says the training will go on but with different leadership.
Compass said he decided to implement a program after hearing complaints about police officers during his recent tour of the city's high-crime neighborhoods.

What type of complaints were there I wonder. This is absurd. I wouldn't ask that mob (NOI) what colour the sky was. I find it really disturbing that a law enforecement agency would give that mob even a hint of credibility.

I think the Chief is getting kinda desperate. I used to work in New Orleans and sometimes had to go into the slummy areas occasionally. Don't forget your vest and spit shield!

Hiring Louis Farakhan to teach a course in "sensitivity" is a little like asking Mahmoud Abbas to teach a course on the Holocaust.

Allowing groups like the Nation of Islam and CAIR to teach law enforcement about "Muslim sensitivity" is like allowing a pit bull to guard your steak, or a cat to guard the fish bowl.
All Muslims have to do is obey the law of the land. If they are incapable of this, then they should be put in prison, or better yet, sent back to their native lands.

The Nation of Islam has nothing to do with Islam at all. I am 100% in agreement that this is an absurd idea, albeit for vastly different reasons that you all.
I am quite certain that peaceful Muslims would find this as offiensive as all of us here.

Athe Chief of Police believes that by hiring Farrakhan's Security Chief that Security Chief will somehow make things better, because "members of the Nation of Islam have some type of relationship with these people" [the very people who are giving the police trouble in the first place].
The Police Chief's attempt to buy off those who commit crimes by paying off those who have "some type of relationship" with the criminals opens up all sorts of possibilites for police elsewhere. Hire someone as a consultant, a "sensitivity trainer," and see if he will, in return for good money, tell those with whom he has "some type of relationship," to cool it.

I believe this is setting a dangerous presidence.
The ACLU is quite on the issue until the stage is set. I will buy everyone a beer if I'm wrong.
For instance:
The police can claim they did nothing wrong, if they have not been shown what is procedure. The problem is, this should not be procedure.
Once they have gone through training and been shown procedure......then the stage is set, the presidence is in place.
Then any muslim that is treated wrong can say "this was against you sensitivity training" so "you violated procedure". Then the lawyers and the ACLU step in. They will advance the rights of muslims and make some handsome settlements from the taxpayers and police departments to put into the pockets of the muslims.
If this proceeds unchallenged, police officers will not want to interact with muslims, which then the muslims will know they have impunity, and everytime a muslim is touched they will file a suit, so then you will have to have a iman at all police stations. Remember Chaplins already exist in police departments. Islam will be screaming for imans next and this will give them the right.
Media reports have been posted here showing how the police in the Netherlands can't do their job because of the PC interaction, and it was started this way.

The police need to be sensitive to the damned law, nothing else.

Not Allah? I thought Allah created everything.
I wonder what other charming creations this evil black scientist created besides white people.
Does this mean there are two creators? One an evil black scientist, and the other the God of the cosmos? I thought they said Allah had no partners. Or maybe the evil black scientist is a contract employee who's only job is to create white people, and Allah creates the rest. But why would Allah delegate creating whites to this character? If this is not confusing enough, bring predestination into it, and you really have a mess.
King Tolerance...you got to help us on this one, if you know of any hidden meanings in Elijah's remarks please let us know...

Some will say it doesn't surprise them that the New Orleans Cheif of Police was stupid enough to invite NOI reps to conduct sensitivity training.
Others will ask how he could have been so stupid as to have invited NOI reps to conduct sensitivity training.
In both cases, the operative word is 'stupid'.
