France 'to expel radical imams'

Here's a heartening and long-overdue development that will no doubt be assailed by the addlepated multiculturalists as more evidence of "Islamophobia." These people would not fend off a knife-wielding attacker for fear of committing daggerophobia. From the BBC, with thanks to Filtrat:

French Interior Minister Nicolas Sarkozy has vowed to deport any Muslim cleric preaching violence.

Speaking after meeting his Spanish counterpart in Madrid, Mr Sarkozy said he would seek the expulsion of imams in France "whose sermons are radical".

Mr Sarkozy said France and Spain had agreed tougher joint measures against Islamic militancy.

Two days ago, France reimposed border controls with its EU neighbours following the London bombings.

Call for unity

After meeting Spanish Interior Minister Jose Antonio Alonso, Mr Sarkozy told reporters radical preaching would no longer be tolerated in France.

"The [French] republic is not a weak regime and it does not have to accept speech which on the pretext that it is happening in a place of worship calls for hate and murder.

"Those who persist in this way will systematically be the object of an expulsion procedure."

Over the past decade France has expelled several foreign-born Muslim preachers after accusing them of abusing their positions by inciting violence.

The minister said Western countries must unite in the fight against al-Qaeda.

"I know of only one policy against these people - firmness, arresting them, punishing them, penalising them, in Madrid, London, New York, everywhere.

"We must never allow ourselves to give them the satisfaction of a division between us," he said.

Expelling this or that imam is not enough. He can be replaced. Any mosque in which anything incriminating is found -- false documents, video or audiocassettes that preach Jihad, explosives, guns -- should be shut down, and the building put to other use. And any mosque where an imam is found to be "preaching hate" should, similarly, be shut down permanently. Expulsion of one man is hardly enough.

But the tone is getting better, even if Sarkozy hastens to add this feelgood remark:

"We must never allow ourselves to give them the satisfaction of a division between us..."

No, Islam teaches the "division between Believer and Infidel." It is not a division we should try to undo, but rather to undo, to divide, to demoralize, in order to cut down to manageable size ("ridimensionare" is a useful Italian verb which means this) Islam and the permanent menace it presents. Sarkozy's last quoted phrase about how we should not "allow ourselves to give them the satisfaciotn of a division between us" attempts to convince Infidels, again, that there are just this group of "extremists" trying to "divide" Believers and Infidels. It isn't so.

Moral of story about Sarkozy: getting closer, better than the others, but still, at this point, no cigar.

So, does that mean if they read certain sections of the Koran, could they be charged with a crime and deported? That, indeed, would be good..no...great news.

"Clerics who endorse suicide bombers could face prosecution under a new offence of "indirect incitement to commit terrorist acts" announced by the Government yesterday.

Factors such as the "tone" of remarks and whether there was an element of "glorification" could be taken into account by the courts in deciding whether an offence was committed.

In a letter sent to the Tories and the Liberal Democrats, Charles Clarke, the Home Secretary, also gave details of two other new offences being created in a counter-terrorism Bill to be published this year.

An anti-training law will make it illegal to receive or provide terrorism training in Britain or abroad, in large camps or even on a one-to-one basis.

Another law will make committing "acts preparatory to terrorism" an offence. (...)"

IMO, that's a start.

Hey, Hugh, give Sarkozy some credit: After years of bending over, as a Frechman, for Moslems, he's trying to straighten up. It's not easy.

Sarkozhy is probably testing and slowly pushing the limits of what is acceptable in mainstream discourse against jihad. Greet wilders is of course, the ultimate destination for mainstream politics in the EU. Till we get there, Sarkozhy needs to know his actions meet with understanding and support from a majority of the multi-culti fatigued populace.

The muslims know they cannot allow Mr Sarkozhy to implant a backbone in Europe. I hope and pray that he is taking appropriate precautions.

At last, a start, but from little acorns...

On the leaked gov. report, this appears to be genuine. If the proposals within are implemented the problem will just grow. What muslims seek (including the so-called 'moderates') is a hudna untill they can increase their numbers. As everywhere else (worth a look at Kosovo in 50s to 70s for this) more money, positive discrimination and all the rest that is thrown at them does not lead to a reduction in poverty and malcontentment, it actually increases it! More money, wellfare and subsidised economic activity within this group will just lead to larger families as it has done everywhere else, therefore more muslims, being more confident in islam, less need for them to re-examine the very things that lead to their mental make-up and how this leads to their failure. On this note an interesting piece in Friday's Evening Standard, where a muslim stated that Pakistanis didn't have the 'culture' and music of Afro-Carribeans and the glamour of other groups (Bollywood, etc.). It's high time they (and our govs. and opinion forming strata of society) started to analyse in an honest and rational fashion why.

Then they will discover what the real root causes are and how best to deal with them.

Only the very foolish will be believe that the expelling of this imam and the arrest of that "mastermind" will solve the problem. The problem is the mindset of tens of millions that are intent on engulfing and destroying all non-Muslims.

"Peace is the absence of enemies." How does one eliminate enemies in Islam? Conquest through war or demographics; Da'wa- convincing non-Muslims to "revert" to Islam; intimidation - frightening and subduing those non-Muslims that won't convert. Elimination - killing the intransigent few that stand up and refuse to either "revert" or be subdued. This is the "Muslim peace."

Only fools don't recognize that Islam is intent on taking over the world.

Department of Here's a How-De-Do:

When someone in the Hexagon can give lessons to the Pentagon about constraining enemies in Sunni Triangles and elsewhere, then the world is close to Squaring the Circle. What strange geometries are these!

I find it interesting to hear the Spanish government associated with this. Elected by Al Qaeda explosives and author of one of the worst immigration reforms in the world, Zapatero's louts - for whom I have, on other grounds, no respect at all - seemed more committed than any other cabinet in Europ to the path of dhimmitude. Perhaps getting kicked in the face hard enough and long enough will convince even the most infantile and obsessional ideologues that hobnailed boots are not instruments of pacifism.
