Yes, he said the Empire State Building. Note that this was broadcast over the airwaves of our friend and ally Saudi Arabia. From MEMRITV, with thanks to Sr. Soph:
The following are excerpts from an interview with Egyptian professor Abd Al-Sabour Shahin, which aired on Saudi Channel 1 on August 8, 2005.Shahin: Our enemies weave many lies about us, which we are not necessarily aware of. For example: One day, we awoke to the crime of 9/11, which hit the tallest buildings in New York, the Empire State Building (sic). There is no doubt that not a single Arab or Muslim had anything to do with these events. The incident was fabricated as a pretext to attack Islam and Muslims. The plan was to take over the world's energy sources, and to achieve this control by force and not by agreement or negotiations, by interests, free trade, or anything like that. This is what they wanted.
So this incident was fabricated - and Allah knows that the Arabs and Muslims are innocent of it - in order to serve as a pretext to attack Islam and the Muslims....
I believe a dirty Zionist hand carried out this act. Zionism has taken the opportunity to escalate the war in Palestine, killing hundreds of thousands so far, while we watch from the sidelines in astonishment and ask: What's going on?
What's going on, sir? Well, for starters, you are a paranoid conspiracy theorist and purveyor of politically poisonous propaganda. That's what's going on.

Lying is cultural trait of Arabs, says Barak
Brian Whitaker in Jerusalem
Thursday May 23, 2002
The Guardian
Palestinians have no compunction about telling lies and see truth as irrelevant, the former Israeli prime minister Ehud Barak has claimed in an interview.
"They are products of a culture in which to tell a lie... creates no dissonance," Mr Barak says. "They don't suffer from the problem of telling lies that exists in Judaeo-Christian culture."
"Truth is seen as an irrelevant category," he says."There is only that which serves your purpose and that which doesn't. They see themselves as emissaries of a national movement for whom everything is permissible. There is no such thing as 'the truth'."
Interviewed by the Jewish historian Benny Morris for an article in the latest issue of the New York Review of Books, Mr Barak not only relates his comments about lying to Yasser Arafat in particular, but to Arab society in general.
He says: "The deputy director of the US Federal Bureau of Investigation once told me that there are societies in which lie detectors don't work, societies in which lies do not create cognitive dissonance [on which the tests are based]."
As an example of Mr Arafat's alleged mendacity, Mr Barak cites an incident in October 2000, shortly after the start of the intifada. The Israeli and Palestinian leaders, together with Madeleine Albright, the US secretary of state at the time, were meeting in Paris to discuss a ceasefire.
Mr Arafat had agreed to call a number of his police commanders to implement a truce.
Mr Barak recalls protesting: "'But these are not the people organising the violence. If you are serious, then call Marwan Bargouti and Hussein al-Sheikh [two West Bank Fatah leaders].'
"Arafat looked at me, with an statement of blank innocence, as if I had mentioned the names of two polar bears, and said, 'Who? Who?'
"So I repeated the names, this time with a pronounced, clear Arabic inflection... and Arafat again said, 'Who? Who?'
"At this, some of his aides couldn't stop themselves and burst out laughing. And Arafat, forced to drop the pretence, agreed to call them later."

Lying also justify's the correct response to aggression from within "the religion of peace".

The world of Islam is a world of such nonsense and lies and denial and deception and filial piety that refuses to face up to facts. It could be called, too sweetly in my view, the "Dream Palace of the Arabs." Come to think of it, it has been called that by Fouad Ajami, who is too intelligent not to know the truth about Islam, but too afraid that he would be cutting his ties, and his career prospects, and his usefulness, if he were to engage with the real subject that underlies his "we were all Nasserites in those days, sitting in Beirut cafes and drinking endless cups of thick muddy coffee..." (or words, and shtick, to that effect).
"The Arab Mind" by Patai is said to be read earnestly at The Pentagon. Fine. But it continually failes to relate the behavior of Arabs, as uber-Muslims, to Islam itself. A better book for those purposes, which has been mentioned endlessly at JW, is Andre Servier's "The Psychology of the Musulman," last published in 1923.
The sheer craziness that Islam induces, and which Western journalists quickly -- too quickly -- adapt too, and silently make allowances for. Why do they apply the lowest of standards to Muslims and to Arabs, and even at times participate in the farce, as when the most absurd statements about so-called "atrocities" of Americans, or Israelis, are bruited about -- how lazy, how weak, those journalists turn out to be, how monstrously they have covered Islam
Most monstrous of all was the late, and completely unlamented by all intelligent and decent people, Peter Jennings, who is being hailed for his "60 days" of non-stop coverage after 9/11, but why? What did he teach us in those 60 Days? He offered a forum on 9/13 to the malevolent and odious Hanan Ashrawi, and that was about it. What did you learn, in all his years of broadcasting, that has turned out to be either true or useful, from Peter Jennings? You learned nothing. No wonder other nothings are falling all over themselves praising one of their own. Never has the American, or the Western television-viewer or radio-listener, or newspaper-reader been given any hint of the thick miasma of lies that one immediately encounters throughout the Muslim world, in minds that find reality too painful, and whenever they can find solace in blaming Infidels, by lying about them, they will. And they will continue to do so until things are as they are now in the Islamic Republic of Iran -- where Islam itself is put on trial in the mental courts of all who can think, and is found guilty as charged.

Shahin states:
"I believe a dirty Zionist hand carried out this act. Zionism has taken the opportunity to escalate the war in Palestine, killing hundreds of thousands so far..."
Hundreds of thousands, eh.
That's amazing. Odd that Western news outlets haven't reported this.

And they say that Americans don't understand Muslims. It's obvious that it's Muslims who don't understand Americans. They don't even understand what our cities look like. Get this guy a map.

Be on your guard when you hear the term "in depth reporting" from the established media. As Hugh Points out and we have seen time and time again where the media would report on the comments of Yassar Arafat and his never ending open lies that anyone could clearly see through, and yet the media just took it all end and never challenged it. Dan rather got the opportunity of a life time as he called it when he got an exclusive interview with Saddam hussein and all he did is throw softballs at the despot clearly to afraid to challenge him and displaying totally ignorance of the Ilamic mindset. And of course the point is ;what did we really learn from it. -- but that is what basic reporting is-- "We report ,you decide" and that is why its great to have the net and more and more expert commetators to decipher what was reported even through the fielded softballs.

PRCS--
(Sarcasm On) Of course theWestern news outlets haven't reported it. They're all controlled by the J-E-W-S...(Sarcasm Off)
Hope that clears things up! LOL!

Wait a minute! This Egyptian professor, Abd Al-Sabour Shahin is right! The Arabs or Muslims had nothing to do with attacking the Empire State Building, but he's wrong in saying it was the Zionist empire ...it was King Kong years and years ago!
Sheesh! He really needs to get his facts straight.
Seriously, these are the people who pass themselves off as professors and scholars over there?
Hey, maybe I could get a job there as a brain surgeon!

It reads like the old Arafat joke where he calls the mayor of NY to offer his condolences about the terrorist attack. When the mayor says that there has been no terrorist attack, Arafat says "Oh. I forgot about the time zone difference."

illustr8rg8r,
Wasn’t there a video of Faye Wray being beheaded and impaled on the very top of the Empire State Building by King Kong, who I hear was a distant relation to Vlad, circulating on the internet a few years back? I think it was on an Egyptian website.
Ha! They need many brain surgeons just to perform lobotomies on these paranoid schizophrenic delusional nut-jobs.

From Hugh's post, above:
"No wonder other nothings are falling all over themselves praising one of their own."
This is true not only of the MSM, but of Hollywood during the Acadamy Award ceremonies and , most unfortunately, the Bush admistration praising each other on their collective sponsored-by-CAIR understanding of Islam and the Islamic world.

Musharraf of Pakistan spoke about the 9/11-'episode'....
'Prince Turki' of Saudi Arabia talked about the '9/11-travesty'
"Academia" in Arab lands have been making outrageous statements since right after 9/11
No. I think the US administration is totally incompetent.
This is like the lame following the blind. And most unfortunately for all of us the 'democrits' paralyze half, if not all of the country and its policies.
A Bush who goes on a 5 week vacation during war, a war that threatens all of us,- makes a rather strange statement.

He probably wanted to get the hell out of Washington just in case the "American Hiroshima" was scheduled for August 6th or 9th, the 60th anniversary of our cruel genocide of the peaceful WWII Japanese.
I know there are underground bunkers and endless contingency plans for the President, Congress, and other key members of government to ensure that government will continue after the rest of us vaporized. But they still need a little advance notice to get to them in time! I imagine the shaheeds will wait until summer recess is over before they proceed with their plans to nuke Washington.

To be a brain surgeon there, all you need is a VERY strong magnifying glass. And a pin with a head.
The first to help find the elusive cortex.
The second to allow the patient something to dance on while you operate.
Maybe they DID hit the Empire State Building!
But the crafty Zionist media has been keeping it hush-hush ever since...!
And the malicious Mossad quickly replaced the missing 100 story structure with an inflatable duplicate to bamboozle us all? (A 'faux' skyscraper 'borrowed' from the Italian film company that did the 1970's version of King Kong.)
Isn't there some website about ALL this?
www.poisonedbananas.org perhaps?)

More and more this reminds me of the Cold War. The Soviets were expert at telling the bald-faced lie.
There is no better way to seem crazy than to actually be crazy. I guess the "teachings" in the Koran really do help them out in this regard. And in a negotiation, pulling the "I am a crazy madman and will do anything" stunt seems to work pretty well (see Kim Jong Il, for most recent example).
Islam attacks the West via a strategy of building layers upon layers of propoganda and obfuscation. You do have to admit, it works! Many Americans STILL think it's a misunderstood religion of peace, no?
