Anti-dhimmitude in Canada. It is gratifying to see feminist groups and human rights activists finally waking up to the threat of Sharia. From CBC News, with thanks to Scaramouche:
Almost 100 organizations around the globe will protest Thursday against a proposal that would allow Islamic law to be used in family arbitration and mediation cases in Ontario.Canadian and European feminist groups, dissidents from some Islamic states such as Iran, human-rights activists, writers and journalists will march Thursday in six European cities, and at least five Canadian ones. Protests will take place in Ottawa, Toronto, Waterloo, Ont., Montreal and Victoria, and in Amsterdam, Dusseldorf, Gutenberg, Stockholm, London and Paris.
Speakers at the Canadian events will include journalists June Callwood, Irshad Manji and Sally Armstrong.
Sohaila Sharifi, an Iranian emigrant who is organizing the London protest, said the protests are part of a global battle between secular societies and "political Islam."
"If [hardline Muslims] win this fight in Canada, there is always the possibility that they would see it as a victory that could bring them one step forward," Sharifi said in an e-mail exchange with the Canadian Press.
"They would use the same argument to establish the same religious system here in Europe and elsewhere."

I predict that the Islamists will condemn the protests as part of a Zionist conspiracy and the dhimmi politicians in Canada will capitulate. While its gratifying to see that some people on the left have not sold their souls to the Islamo-Fascists, I think this is too little, too late.

IICJ to hardliners; "ignore the protests, I've got this friend..."
A note of constructive criticism; read the whole original, it states at the bottom that Catholics and Jews already have religious arbitration, so this isn't happening in a vacuoum. One of the strengths of these sites is that they are open and honest in their reporting. ALL the facts should be out in the open. Granted, Catholic and Jewish religious arbitration aren't in the same league as Sharia, but we must keep to the high road.

Bush and Blair talk about how Islam is a peaceful religion which is being misintrepreted by that itsy-bitsy percentage of fanatics. Recently, though, I've been reading a new spin, one being proferred by practising Muslims like Sohalia Sharifi, one of the protests' organizers. That is, "political Islam" is at the heart of the problem, and that this kind of Islam is somehow distinguishable from the plain old religion of Islam, which is just hunky-dorey.
Since "Islam" and "political Islam" are actually one and the same as Islam makes no distinctions between mosque and state, this explanation is as blind and misleading as the Bush/Blair one.

There has been a political furore in India when a parallel Islamic Justice system was uneartherd. Indian Supreme Courts issued angry notices to Union Govt, 9 state governments, Muslim Personal Law Board and several hundred Madrassas inclusing the prime one at Deoband.

Heres what Indian Muslims have to say abt this:
"Give us Shariat Courts or else the image of India as a free, secular and humane democracy hangs with this choice."

I urge all jihad watchers to attend these rallies against the impositon of sharia on women in Canada. They take place on Thursday, Sept. 8.
We can quibble about the politics of the organizers, and perhaps even dislike them for any number of reasons, but the fact remains that if we do't attend rallies against sharia law in Canada other nations will be encouraged to follow Canada's example of allowing discrimination against women on prudential grounds.
The three latest posts below give details of the times and places, names and contact numbers for organizers across Canada, in France, Sweden, England, and other nations.
We cannot allow sharia to come to Canada without opening the doors to sharia in other nations as well. We can begin to stop it on Thursday.

All too many infidels have not read "the Sword of the Prophet" by Trifkovic. It's a must read. It caused me to purchase a copy of the infamous Qur'an just to verify the comments made in the book. I couldn't believe what I was reading - no religion could be that violent. Everthing and I mean Everything checks out in detail with the Qur'an. It's not a religion its a way of life - governance- it's Warlike and absolutely in diametric opposition the the Catholic Scriptures, Bible (new and old testaments) tenets, etc. It is truly a roadmap to world dominance.

I think it's a bit too early to celebrate. I am afraid that the dhimmi Ontario premier, who features a picture of a veiled Muslim woman at his official website, might push for the permission of the Shari'a courts in spite of the opposition he's facing.

I read Vikrant_Camberleykar's link:
http://www.milligazette.com/dailyupdate/2005/20050818.htm
Petition against "Shariat courts" is miguided
The author states:
Shariat courts are arbitration councils which have no real or claimed judicial powers or authority whatsoever.
Well, then, get rid of them.

From Vikrant_Camberleykar's link:
The image of India as a free, secular and humane democracy hangs with this choice.
So Zafarul-Islam Khan is proud of the free, secular and humane democracy of India. So why does he want sharia "courts". And if he is so proud of the secular, free and humane traditions of India, why is he not campaiging for the same in muslim nations?
This is just another islamist, using the freedoms of a secular democracy to undermine it.

Sharia and gay marriage have divided the 14 some odd Islamic Org.'s that all claim to speak for the 400,000 Muslims in Canada , but as I dug further into all the groups the core beliefs are rooted in islam and the Quranic orders to claim the World for Allah and wage Jihad against the infidels.
This ruse is to scam the Westerners into perceiving Islam as protecting social value and fighting for Justice , but global domination is the common denominator of all the groups and they will never accept Jesus as the messiah for Christians or see Jews as Gods chosen people .
While i do see the issues worth fighting for by different concepts of Islam , the end product is that they all want us dead or live under an Islamic state and pay a head-tax to practise a non-Islamic faith.
