This news is so sad. My husband's uncle, a polio victim as a child 60 years ago, recently died from the lingering effects of the disease, despite the fact that he received good medical care throughout his life. The young polio victims in Nigeria and Yemen, already doomed to live difficult lives, will have even shorter and more brutal lives. Ignorance is at work and so is the Muslim conspiracy issue. In some ways, this story is connected with the "Israeli agents committed 9/ll." Muslims will always believe the worst about others, whether it is a medical team doing polio vaccinations or Israel being responsible for every evil in the world. They lack the skills in independent thinking and in self-criticism. This is why "Islamic" countries are third world countries, with little hope of changing.

I have no sadness for these people. The faster they go, the better it is for the rest. Come to think of it they are doing a pretty fine job of it o0n themselves. The shiite-sunni8 divide has not been exploited.

Landmine found near Balcohistan CM’s house

QUETTA: Unidentified men had planted a landmine outside Balochistan Chief Minister Jam Mohammad Yousaf’s house on Tuesday which security forces defused, said security officials.

They said that terrorists had planted a landmine near the chief minister’s ancestral house in Kalat and the Bomb Disposal Squad defused the mine before it could explode. Maybe what they really heard was that the polio vaccine was invented by a Jew and they want to boycott all things Jewish. Obviously being extremely sarcastic here about something that is really, really sad, because it will be, by and large, infants and the young who pay for this supreme bit of ignorance.

Funnily they dont mention India. About 40% of all polio cases in world are detected in Muslim ghettos of India's Uttar Pradesh state. The Muslims refuse to take the vaccine coz of some stupid conspiracy story abt Hindus sterlising Muslims thru vaccines.

For can you not see (as allah can not see) that paralyzed, helpless children would thereby be unable to offend him! Allah has sent them this gracious scourge in order to keep them from shirk and sin. We must all rejoice! for Allah has ensured, by permanently crippling them from the get-go, that their souls are destined for rivers of milk and honey.

These same victims, family and all, of a near eradicated disease just reflect the thinking of our enemy who by all rights should be easily defeated. What exactly makes our leadership unable to face these folks who are so deadly unto themselves and to us? We could beat these mohammedans with one hand behind our back if we wanted to. Deport them one and all, ask questions later. We need a leader who will do that.

Oh Waterdragon, I do so agree with you. I am of the first generation of toddlers who benefited from the polio vaccine when it was introduced into England around 1955. The last outbreak was in 1952 and the link below is to the first page of Sex and Drugs and Rock and Roll - the Life of Ian Dury by Richard Balls. The opening heading of the first chapter tells how his Mother had to rush to Cornwall where he had been taken seriously ill with polio while visiting relatives and was expected to die.

He had caught the polio a few days earlier from the paddling pool which used to be on the seafront by Southend Pier. It was not until I read this 40 years later that I understood why my mother would never let me play in that, or any other paddling pool. She once mentioned the horror of seeing a ward full of children all in iron lungs, and knowing that those who survived would, like my cousin's mother, walk with leg irons, if they walked at all.
Of course Ian Dury didn't die, and went on to be one of the best songwriters of his generation (in my opinion) but he was left disabled. These children won't be so lucky and all because of the wickedness of their religious leaders.

In a strange but true incident, health workers, who had gone to vaccinate children against polio in a Muslim dominated locality of Muradnagar town in Ghaziabad district of Uttar Pradesh, were roughed up by parents unwilling to protect their children against this deadly disease.

The residents allegedly manhandled a woman health worker. Her colleague was forced to open her mouth and a phial of vaccine was emptied into it.

The police have registered a case against six men after the health workers lodged a complaint with the District Magistrate. One person has been arrested.

According to Dr DP Singh, health officer of the city, a six-member team was administering polio drops to children in Osaf Nagar, a Muslim-dominated area, on Thursday as part of the countrywide pulse polio campaign to eradicate this crippling disease.

When the health workers knocked on the door of Hasimuddin, a resident of Osaf Nagar, he came out and refused to have his children vaccinated. When the health workers tried to reason with him, he became aggressive and began to push them around. By then, six men from the neighbourhood had joined him.

Hasimuddin then snatched a phial of vaccine and forcibly poured the contents into the mouth of one of the health workers, Shalu. When the team leader protested, she was manhandled by the crowd. Soon, other residents began pelting stones at the health workers, forcing them to flee.

The health workers later met District Magistrate Santosh Kumar Yadav and briefed him about the incident. According to them, they routinely face trouble and harassment in Muslim-dominated areas where people are reluctant to vaccinate their children. Mr Yadav instructed the police to register a criminal case and take swift action.

Statistics show that despite the intensive pulse polio campaign, cases of polio continue to be reported from Uttar Pradesh and Bihar. Most of these cases are reported from Muslim dominated areas.

So here are the infidel health workers trying to help the poor Muslim children and that is the way they are treated. Now a poor country like India spends tons of money to ensure health and well being of their citizens and these Muslim communities brainwashed by their leaders would undo it. In doing so they not only put their children at risk but also spread risk to rest of the nation and possibly world. Any one to argue against Quarantine for these people till they decide to join civilized world?

One of the bravest persons I ever knew was a law student I met at college, here in Britain, who somehow (I never asked how) seemed to have suffered from polio in spite of the vaccine. She had entered one of Britain's top law faculties and, in spite of having no use in her legs at all, managed to propel herself by working hard with a walking stick; a picture of courage so intense that I did not have the nerve to offer, as I wanted to, my arm in support. I would look at this person and tears would come to my eyes. So I cannot agree with Leavingtheleft, and I feel that if s/he had seen this horrible thing close up, not even s/he would wish it on anyone. But as for the evil cult and the hateful mindset that exposes its own children to it, that is another matter. I hope those morons in India get a good dose of an unpleasant Indian slammer. I feel the same way about those criminal Jehova's Witnesses parents who refuse blood transfusions to their children and expose them to death or permanent injury.

Paolo, thanks. If wasn't for personal experience with polio (and not wanting it for anyone), I would certainly wish it on a cretin like leavingtheleft. Whether the result is death or a life of disability, it takes a sick person to wish polio on any human being -- especially children.

The ignorance of Muslims is both a curse to us and perhaps a blessing. This abject stupidity, and their institutionalized paranoia and delusional thinking may end up being our salvation at the same time we are place in such danger by their idiotic Islamic religion and culture...

Since they are already inclined to believe every calumny and lie imaginable about the evil West, perhaps we should help them become even more allergic to our saving technologies and equipment. The next flu pandemic will do far more to destroy the Great Jihad than a thousand Iraq invasions will, and far more cheaply. If we can reinforce the Muslim paranoia about our Western motives, and about our Western technology, perhaps we can assure they are less and less able to use our own property and technology against us, as they have done so successfully so far.

Think of it -- they use our planes, our chemistry, our satellites, our cell phones, our computers AND our precious freedoms against us like deadly weapons -- All the terror, all the bombs, all the endless agitation to erode our rights and standard of living, ALL serve to gain themselves special rights and powers among us. Dangerous examples of this are now seen daily playing out in the West. Laws passed to prevent insults to Islam for example as being considered in Australia and already enacted in the UK and the EU... The banishment of symbols which they find "offensive to Muslims..." -- The requirement that we show our tolerance of them by acceding to all the things that they are intolerant of in ourselves and our culture.

If the bird flu pandemic unfolds as many predict it will -- It would be foolish to send a single dose of medicine to the Muslim world -- let them wallow in their hatred and ignorance -- it isn't up to us to save them from their own self created doom, nor is it wise to save and protect them from natural destruction, only to allow them to continue to plot and pray for our destruction daily.
It is time for us to embargo them COMPLETELY -- Let's see how valuable they find wallowing in their oil in juxtaposition with all the miraculous inventions we are able to conjure up in the West with our ingenuity, hard work, and humanity...

Put another way -- Muslims have the religion and the leadership they deserve -- Why is it up to us to save them from the horrors, depravity, and filth which they have created themselves? What sense does it make for us to repeatedly step in to save them from genocide, and utter destruction?
